Jake Paul urges Mike Tyson to sign $300m heavyweight comeback fight

Paul has suggested he would be willing to compete at heavyweight if Tyson agrees to an encounter

Jake Paul has told Mike Tyson to “have some fun” by agreeing to fight the YouTuber, who is prepared to bulk up to take on the heavyweight great.

Paul has been angling for a chance to take on Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight world champion, as he seeks the next step in a boxing career that has thus far of five wins over internet personalities, former basketball players and mixed martial artists.

Tyson has so far been reluctant to accept the offer of a bout, suggesting it would take a significant fee to convince him to come out of retirement.

The 55-year-old fought Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match in November 2020.

He has now been urged by Paul to grant him his request for a fight, with the 25-year-old prepared to compete at heavyweight.

“For sure,” Paul told The Journey podcast when asked if he wanted a duel with Tyson.

“I joke with my friends about it, I’m like I’ll start eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts, move up to heavyweight and fight Mike Tyson. That would actually excite me and that’s a $200-300million event.

“So Mike, if you’re watching this let’s have some fun. New school vs old school and I think that’s something that the fans would want to see.”

Tyson’s meeting with Jones Jr. was the most successful pay-per-view boxing event of 2020, and was scored a split draw.

The undercard included Paul’s victory over former NBA player Nate Robinson.

  • Michael Schumacher’s brother Ralf doubles down on his calls for Christian Horner to resign… as he slams Geri Halliwell’s husband for ‘portraying himself as a victim’ and claims he is causing ‘immense damage’ to Red Bull

Michael Schumacher’s brother Ralf doubles down on his calls for Christian Horner to resign… as he slams Geri Halliwell’s husband for ‘portraying himself as a victim’ and claims he is causing ‘immense damage’ to Red Bull

Ralf Schumacher has repeated his calls for Christian Horner to resign from his role at Red Bull.

Horner – who earns £8million a year as team principal – was the subject of an internal investigation last month after accusations of ‘coercive behaviour’ towards a female colleague were made against him, before he was cleared.

However, several messages that were alleged to be between Horner and his accuser were then leaked via anonymous email, adding further furore to the whole situation. The bombshell email – which was sent to leading F1 figures – contained 79 documents, including hundreds of messages, many of them of a sexual nature.

The Red Bull chief, husband of former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, denies all the allegations and has insisted he will stay in his role, but the whole saga has overshadowed the start of the F1 season. Jos Verstappen, father of Red Bull’s star driver Max, is among those who have called for Horner to go.

And Ralf Schumacher, younger brother of legendary seven-time world champion Michael, is another who has urged the 50-year-old to leave his role, and on Tuesday he doubled down on his opinion.

‘(He should) resign as soon as possible,’ he told SPORT1. ‘It became problematic for me when he portrayed himself as a victim in the press conference in Saudi Arabia.

‘I’m sorry for his family, yes, but there was only one person who started this whole thing (which is) him.

‘I think it can no longer be denied that he and his personal assistant must have become very close. I can’t accept that he keeps saying he doesn’t want to talk about it in detail.

‘I can say from my own experience when it comes to my divorce, yes, it is difficult at the beginning when such a private matter is carried out in public.

‘But there comes a time when we have to talk about it because in the end it’s what’s best for all parties. For example, you don’t hear anything from Horner’s employee and that’s not good. Nobody talks about her.’

Schumacher, 48, who remains one of the most prominent voices in German motorsport, went onto highlight the harm he believes Horner is causing by remaining in his position.

‘One thing is certain as long as this chaos remains, it will do immense damage to Red Bull,’ he added.

‘Horner said that no one is more important than the team. Therefore, he should follow this command and resign as soon as possible.

‘What I found and still think is a shame (is) the Christian Horner case outshines everything. This became particularly clear on the first weekend in Bahrain. It wasn’t until race day that there was a little talk about the sport.

‘What also bothers me about the whole thing… an objective assessment is extremely difficult because there is a complete lack of transparency.

‘Everything should be sorted out as quickly as possible. It wouldn’t hurt anyone if he left. It would be important for the Red Bull brand.’

Schumacher’s latest comments come after his original calls for Horner to step down earlier this month.

Speaking in the aftermath of the 50-year-old being cleared, he told Sky Germany: ‘Christian Horner is now required to really draw conclusions.

‘I think, if you can already see how the mood is against him, that he is not tenable and that he should simply resign now in the interests of the team.

He claimed the Red Bull chief is causing ‘immense damage’ to Red Bull by staying in his role

‘I think the Thai side [at Red Bull] also has to realise: There’s no point in sticking with Christian Horner.’

He also insisted that Horner’s determination to remain in his role could impact Verstappen’s position at the team.

Speaking earlier in March to Austrian outlet Kronen Zeitung, he said: ‘If Christian Horner holds on to his seat with all his might he will not only damage Red Bull, he will also ensure that Max Verstappen leaves the team.’

Verstappen has won the first two races of the 2024 season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, with the Dutchman hoping to make it three in a row in Australia this weekend.

The pair will meet in the ring in July in a heavyweight bout – but Tyson has seen Paul in action first-hand before

Mike Tyson will take on Jake Paul later this year in the ring – but the former undisputed heavyweight world champion did not seem overly gripped by the YouTuber when once seeing him spar.

Paul will face Tyson, who is 30 years older than him, in July at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in what may be Iron Mike’s first professional fight since 2005.

Tyson is a legendary figure in the sport, having 50 wins from 58 fights under his belt, two no contests and only six losses in a career which spanned two decades.

Paul meanwhile is in the infancy of his professional boxing career, with nine wins in 10 fights so far and only one defeat, which came at the hands of Tommy Fury last year.

The fight will be streamed exclusively on Netflix and is a surprise encounter, that may see Tyson’s involved in a first professional bout in almost 20 years. He previously fought Kevin McBridge in 2005, but was stopped in two rounds before hanging up the gloves.

Paul said: “Whether you’re tuning in on Netflix or showing out in person, whether you’re team Paul or team Tyson, or whether you’re a lifelong boxing fan or watching your first fight, you’re not going to want to miss this event.

“I could not be more excited to make this amazing fight available to all Netflix subscribers alongside the hardest hitter of all time, Mike Tyson, on Saturday, July 20th.

“My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to sleep.”

Tyson meanwhile has kept his reaction short and sweet by comparison, simply saying “we signed the contract”.

Iron Mike has previously watched Paul sparring in the gym – but did not seem overly impressed. He is said to have watched for 30 seconds before leaving.

Tyson saw Paul train at the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles, which is owned by famous trainer Freddie Roach, who explained the former undisputed heavyweight world champion displayed a lack of interest in the YouTuber.

Speaking to FightHype in 2022, Roach said: “Tyson looked at him and left.

“He saw 30 seconds of him sparring and said, ‘Freddie, can we go down and see the pictures?’. He knows that’s where the good pictures are. He wasn’t as interested as I was.”

Joe Joyce secures knockout victory in final seconds of his bout against Kash Ali… in unconvincing return to action after back-to-back defeats by Zhilei Zhang last year

Joe Joyce secured a much-needed victory in unconvincing fashion against Kash Ali in Birmingham on Saturday night.

The 38-year-old, who lost his unbeaten record in back-to-back losses to Zhilei Zhang last year, was expected to make light work of his opponent last night.

But Joyce had to be patient as he struggled to finish off Ali, who put in a solid effort against the heavy favourite.

With just seven seconds remaining of the tenth and final round, a right hand sent Ali to the canvas for the first time in the bout.

Ali got to his feet, but was too slow to do so, handing Joyce a knockout victory.

Ali entered the fight having fought just twice since 2021 due to injury, having also previously served a six-month ban in 2019 for biting David Price.

The victory lifts Joyce to a 16-2 record as he hopes to be challenging the big names in heavyweight boxing again in the future.

Joyce had been unbeaten going into 2023 and appeared to be on the cusp of a title fight against Oleksandr Usyk.

Going into the fight, he called it a ‘fork in the road’ having gone from being next in line to challenge for Usyk’s WBO title to being on the undercard at Resorts World Arena in Birmingham last night.

But the Juggernaught took a fight with Zhang which saw him stunned inside six rounds due to damage to his eye, before being being brutally knocked out in the rematch.

His victory came on a card headlined by Nathan Heaney’s clash with Brad Pauls for the British middleweight title.

Heaney retained his title despite being held to a split draw in an exciting main event.

Tyson and Paris Fury lead celebrations for their ‘good friend’ Joseph Parker after the Kiwi upset the odds to dominate Deontay Wilder at the Day of Reckoning event in Saudi Arabia

Tyson and Paris Fury have taken to social media to celebrate Joseph Parker’s dominant victory over Deontay Wilder.

Parker has long been a fixture of Fury’s training camps, with the pair training together in preparation for Saturday’s event that also saw Anthony Joshua stop Otto Wallin in five rounds.

Speaking before the fight Parker revealed Fury’s storied history with Wilder had made him an invaluable asset in his training camp as he prepared for one of the biggest nights of his professional career.

‘It was very important to fly to England and meet up with Tyson, a man who’s beaten him twice,’ The 31-year-old told Sky News.

‘He’s the most knowledgeable about Wilder and what he represents.

‘He’s always been helpful with my career and taken time to give advice, so it’s been very important we did that.’

In Riyadh Parker executed his gameplan flawlessly, forcing Wilder onto the back foot and largely nullifying the Bronze Bomber’s vaunted one-punch knockout power throughout the twelve rounds.

At the end of the twelve rounds the former WBO world champion was given the nod on all three judges’ scorecards by a wide margin, marking his fourth victory of 2023.

Following the fight, both Tyson and his wife Paris congratulated Parker on social media, with the latter writing ‘congratulations to our good friend.’

Speaking inside the ring following the fight Parker thanked his training partner for his help in preparing to fight Wilder.

‘Tyson Fury thanks for all your help, appreciate it a lot. Massive help. We moved over to England, Tyson gave us his time, sparring… it all came to plan.’

    The Hook double

Fury and Wilder met three times inside the ring between 2018 and 2021.

The first fight was controversially ruled a split draw after Fury controlled the fight throughout but was dropped on two separate occasions before recovering to reach the final bell.

Fury was dominant in their second encounter, twice putting Wilder on the canvas before winning via TKO in the seventh round.

In their final meeting Fury completed the trilogy with a KO victory in a compelling back-and-forth fight that saw both men dropped twice with Fury emerging victorious with an 11th-round KO.

MailOnline has broken down some of the key traditions the Fury’s have brought with them as they rose to the top.

    Growing up fighting

Boxing has always been a favourite sport for the traveller community and Tyson has said previously that it is a ‘key element’ of his culture.

Speaking to the BBC in 2014, Tyson revealed: ‘Boxing is a key element of the travelling culture. Before anything else, you learn how to fight.

‘Whereas in other cultures little kids will kick a ball about, we’re punching hands.

‘When we have a dispute, we’re not supposed to go to the police, we’re supposed take our shirts off, go outside and sort it out with fisticuffs.

‘To be a good fighting man is one of the best things you can ever be in life.’

Tyson himself comes from a long line of brawlers including his father John Fury.

The former professional boxer, 59, said his family’s fearsome fighting prowess stemmed from his tough-as-nails mother, Cissy, a ‘natural southpaw’.

‘Fighting has always been in our family – it’s our second nature,’ the 6ft 3ins bruiser – who once claimed to have won £100,000 in a bare-knuckle boxing fight – told The Sun.

Tyson had previously suggested that all of his children would also be brought up boxing as it teaches them ‘respect for life.’

Speaking ahead of a 2021 bout with Deontay Wilder, he claimed: ‘They’re all going to box because even if they’re not going to be boxers, it teaches them respect for life.’

    Defending  the Traveller community

Tyson Fury has been focal about championing his Traveller heritage and sticking up for the tight-knit community.

During the pandemic, the boxing legend spoke out about racism towards Travellers in a candid video shared on YouTube.

Highlighting the Black Lives Matter movement, Fury said: ‘Every other ethnic group, every other race, are standing up and being counted and Travellers need to do the same.

‘Travellers never stand up for themselves in a way that is political or legal. They get hated on and discriminated against and they don’t say anything because – ‘oh that’s the way its always been’. And now it’s not. It’s time for a change and the change is now.’

The boxing star was speaking out during an interview with Kugan Cassius filmed at his home in Morecambe.

Days earlier, Fury had made waves leading a peace protest against 24 pubs, restaurants and garages refusing to service Travellers in the Lancashire town.

‘If I go into a place and I’m acting rude or out of order then I should be banned. You can’t ban an entire race of people,’ says Fury

‘People are still tolerant of racism towards Travellers when they wouldn’t be tolerant of racism towards blacks or Asians or any other race of people. I’ve seen it in America, I’ve seen it all over the world.’

READ MORE: Travellers say ‘Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury is ‘fighting for us’ and gives them hope for the future as they complain of discrimination

Travellers say world heavyweight champion is ‘fighting for us’ giving them hope for the future amid complaints over discrimination.

The ‘Gypsy King’, 34, was hailed a ‘positive role model’ for the young travelling community and is helping to increase their visibility, according to a study.

The Office for National Statistics interviewed members of the Gypsy and Traveller communities in England and Wales to find out about their experiences.

Researchers were told some individuals act and speak differently when among people from settled communities to avoid their true identity from being discovered.

Some also hide their background due to fears of prejudice and being treated like ‘second class citizens’.

While some say they are proud of their traditionally nomadic background, others said they are thought of as ‘scum’ in the wider world, which has led to them trying to avoid talking about their ethnicity – including from their child’s first day at school.

However, the study found that having someone like WBC heavyweight champion Fury is having a positive impact on travellers who feel he is ‘fighting for us’.

One Traveller interviewed in the study, identified only as a man aged 50 to 60, told the ONS: ‘It’s like with Tyson Fury. Tyson Fury is fighting for us. To get our name out there because everybody just thinks we are like scum…’

Charity Friends, Families and Travellers, which represents the UK’s population of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people, said having Fury fighting in their corner was a huge boast.

‘From helping shed light on the discrimination experienced by people from Gypsy and Traveller communities, to positive messages about the importance of looking after your mental health, Tyson Fury is a prime example of why positive representation matters,’ a spokeswoman for the charity told MailOnline.

Getting married at an early age

In true traveller fashion, the Fury couple met and married very young indeed.

Tyson met Paris met when she was 15, and they didn’t start dating until after Paris’ 16th birthday.

The two tied the knot in 2008 at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.

As practising Catholics, Tyson and Paris didn’t have sex until officially becoming husband and wife.

‘Even after we got engaged, Tyson would sleep in a caravan at my parents’ home, while I slept inside the house,’ Paris has previously explained in the past.

In the 15-years they’ve been together the couple have had tremendous highs and lows including Tyson’s desperate three year hiatus from professional boxing.

In that time, Paris, who stayed by her husband’s side while he battled mental health problems, alcohol abuse and obesity says she ‘thought about leaving’ her husband ‘every day.’

She told The Mirror : ‘I wanted to leave every day. Every day I used to cry and break down and think ‘I can’t deal with this.’

‘I literally packed the car and the kids a few times. I’d think ‘how can I leave?’ If you truly love someone you’re not going to leave them to crash and burn.’

As his bleak moods and destructive habits worsened, she felt powerless to help the man she fell in love with.

‘He was drinking excessively for days on end and then he’d come home and in the times he wasn’t drinking he’d be in a dark depression,’ she recalled.

    Taking pride in their homes

Boxers may be known for ‘trash talking’ opponents in the ring however in true traveller tradition Tyson and Paris aim to keep their homes spotless.

And Tyson has been known to take it one step further in his quest to keep his home town and £1.7million family mansion clean.

Earlier this year the 6ft 9in boxing superstar gave unsuspecting litterers in Morecambe Bay a fright by blasting them in a prank.

Fury, 35, launched a new range of talking rubbish bins mocked up as his face to tackle the ‘t***ers’ around the country.

He hooked up a microphone to one of his doppleganger bins before using it to jump-scare litterers in Morecambe Bay as he watched on from a studio nearby before emerging to thank them or deliver a telling-off if they failed to pick up their rubbish.

Fury slammed one litter lout, saying: ‘So if you don’t put it in the bin, someone like me has got to pick it up.

‘If we all muck in if we live in this country, and keep it tidy and don’t chuck s*** on the floor, it will be a better place, won’t it?’

Although a joke, the sentiment behind keeping things tidy is something close to Tyson’s heart as a house-proud Traveller.

Despite being worth an estimated £130million, the Gypsy King regularly films himself taking his own rubbish to the tip.

In April last year, the 35-year-old fighter recorded himself doing the tip run as he returned home from his knockout victory over Dillian Whyte.

He was joined in clearing out the rubbish by American trainer SugarHill Steward, less than two days after they had masterminded a dominant win in the all-British heavyweight clash with Whyte.

Fury said: ‘So, from 95,000 at Wembley, heavyweight championship of the world, to me and Sugar doing the bins. Straight back off the motorway, on our own, getting it done. Tip run for us.’

In a candid clip on his Netflix documentary, At Home With The Furys, Tyson is seen explaining to his eldest son Prince John James, 11, why emptying the bins at his  house was so important to him.

‘Do you reckon if I had half a billion I would still have to do this?’ Fury asks his son as he unloads black sacks from the bin into his truck.

‘Yeah,’ says Prince. ‘Why?’, asks Fury. ‘You wouldn’t want to pay for it, I know that,’

Fury then asks: ‘How much is it worth to pay someone to do this job for you – about 100 quid a day?

‘Well just think, from me doing all this, I’ve earned £100 and £100 to me is a lot of money, a hell of a lot of money. I remember the days when I didn’t have £100 and I’d have done this all day to the crack of dawn for a one-er.

‘Never lose sight of who you are, Prince. If you can save a one-er, save it.’

Fury later adds: ‘I’m never going to forget where I came from and how hard things are in reality so I’m instilling into my kids that nothing comes free in life and anything that’s any good in life you have to work hard for.’

Later, arriving at the tip to dump off his rubbish, the Gypsy King quips: ‘This is a the half-a-billion dollar man: full of bin juice.’

Paris has always been proud of running her family in the travelling traditions and says that it leads to ‘independence’ insisting that female travellers – who often leave education after primary school – don’t ‘just learn how to cook and clean.’

She told The Sun: ‘I’ve come from a strong line of women, and we didn’t just learn how to cook and clean.

‘My mum taught me how to drive, she taught me how to use the bank, do businesses, get into college.’

Paris explained that as well as assisting her with homework, her mother showed her how to do paperwork and job interviews.

The mum-of-seven said: ‘I think travellers have this stereotype that all the women know is how to clean.

‘I wasn’t just taught how to shine silver or polish dishes, I was taught how to run a home, a business and be a strong, independent woman.’

Paris and Tyson announced that they had welcomed their seventh child together – a baby boy – on September 19 this year.

The couple are already parents to Venezuela, 13, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia Amber, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and Athena, two.

Announcing the birth of her seventh child to OK! Magazine, Paris revealed her son was born at 2.29am weighing 6lb 13oz.

She said: ‘We’re over the moon to have welcomed our baby boy to the Fury family. His brothers and sisters can’t wait to meet him and create lots of Fury fun!

‘Our boy is the most perfect addition and we’re bursting with love for him. It’s crazy how you can love someone so quick.’

Proud dad Tyson followed the announcement by sharing a sweet photo of the couple with their baby boy standing in front of a sunflower wall in hospital.

Having a big family has always been something that is important to the couple and is a key part of traveller tradition.

In the biography, Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson, Paris revealed that travellers see it as a duty to look after their husbands and kids above all else.

She said: ‘[We] always intended to carry on the great Traveller tradition and have a big family.

‘Three children at the very least, we’d say to each other, maybe even ten if we were lucky.

‘Sometimes people would ask me why I didn’t employ any hired help – it wasn’t as if we couldn’t afford it – but that just wasn’t the Traveller way.

‘As proud and dedicated wives and mothers, we considered it our duty and our privilege to look after our homes and children ourselves.’

Leaving school at an early age

Tyson and Paris were brought up with a traditional gypsy lifestyle, leaving school at 11 without any qualifications and the couple have previously butted heads over whether this is something they want for their seven children.

In a 2020 ITV documentary, the couple were filmed arguing over whether they should stay in school beyond the age of 11.

Paris was seen exclaiming she wanted her children to be raised as she did, her husband describes parents who stop their children from going to school as ‘dream killers’.

The heavyweight then protested: ‘Do you think you live a traveller’s lifestyle? Because I don’t. I think you live like a footballers’ wife.’

Paris explained to the camera: ‘Me and Tyson have talked about the kids going to school. Tyson wants the boys to into education.  It’s just not what we’ve ever done.’

But her husband interrupted: ‘Who’s we? You said it’s not something we have ever done. But I am a precedent setter am I not?

‘Now I’ve set these laws and precedents you watch how many will follow. Watch!

‘The parents of these kids I call them dream killers.

‘Because [they say] ‘Oh, you never get anywhere because you’re a traveller or because they don’t want you to do it.’

‘Because something went wrong in their life you can’t pawn off on your kids either.’

But Paris argued ‘I was brought up like a traveller, I want my kids to be brought up as travellers.

‘The kids will probably leave school at 11 and they will be educated at home from then.

‘The boys will take a wife to make their family and the girls will take a husband to make their family.

‘Until they take a husband or a wife, they won’t really be leaving the home and I wouldn’t want them to leave the home.’

But her daughter Venezuela interjected: ‘You heard what dad has just said, dream cutter.’

    Growing up in caravans

Both Tyson and Paris are extremely proud of their travelling roots and are fond of the concept of living in caravans.

Their new £1.7million ‘castle’ on the Morecambe coast is ringed in by caravan sites, most of them are short lets occupied by seasonal holiday makers, rather than members of the traveller community.

Paris previously said in an interview with the Irish Mirror that she loved the ‘traditional’ lifestyle.

She said: ‘I am a traveller, I am a gypsy. I was brought up in caravans when I was a little girl.

‘It’s just the traditional lifestyle; there’s no real definition, there’s no bloodline because we never went to the doctor to say we are who we are.

‘There was no paperwork, there are still gypsies today who can’t read or write; we’re just that old fashioned.’

Who is Tyson Fury’s mother Amber and will she make an appearance in At Home with The Fury’s documentary?

The new Netflix series At Home With The Fury’s delves into the day-to-day family life of Heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.

It follows Tyson and his wife Paris Fury and their impressive brood of six – soon to be seven – children.

However, while it delves into Tyson Fury’s family life, his mother, Amber Fury, does not appear to be on camera at all.

And, given the various members of the family who feature on the show, many fans were left disappointed.

So, who is Amber Fury, and why does she not appear in the new reality show?

Who is Tyson Fury’s mother Amber?

Amber Fury is the mother to the long-reigning Heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, whose father is John Fury.

The two share three children together: Shane Fury, John Fury Jr, and Tyson Fury. Their daughter, Ramona, tragically passed away after birth, when Tyson was just nine years old.

The couple reportedly endured fourteen pregnancies together, only four of which seem to have carried to term.

After the pair split, John went on to marry his second wife Chantel in 1989 and the couple had Love Island star and boxing champ Tommy Fury.

Why is Amber Fury not in At Home With The Furys?

While it has not been confirmed whether Amber Fury will appear in the Netflix show, it seems unlikely.

Far from her famous family, it seems she prefers to stay out of the spotlight and, according to The Telegraph, she has never even been to watch one of her son’s fights.

In his autobiography, Behind The Mask, Tyson revealed: ‘I took her out shopping one time after the Wilder fight and I was being stopped for photographs and autographs everywhere I went in Manchester and she couldn’t understand it.

‘I had to explain to her that I was the heavyweight champion of the world and a lot of people had watched me and supported me. That was actually very special.’

Impressively, she has been able to keep out of the public eye for several years, speaking to the Irish Mirror Tyson revealed that his mum has separated herself from the buzz of his life.

He said: ‘I looked on Google the other day and there’s not one picture of my mother on the internet. That’s crazy isn’t it?” She has never been to one of my boxing fights, amateur or professional and never been in the public eye at all.

‘I don’t think it means anything to my mum. She doesn’t care if I’m world champion or not, as long as I’m healthy and happy. That is the only thing that means anything to her.’

He became a pro in 2020 and is the ninth member of the Fury family to take up boxing.

Roman played rugby in his younger days but switched sports after training with Tommy.

Tommy, his wife Paris and their children were the subject of the Netflix show At Home With The Furys which was released earlier last year and saw her win an army of fans.

She was praised for her hands on mothering to her legion of kids as well as how she looks after her beloved husband in their lavish home.

In 2022, Paris welcomed her seventh child – and revealed her sportsman husband Tyson had missed the birth, explaining he had been at her side, but returned to training  because things were ‘going quite slowly’.

In Tyson’s place, she was joined on the ward by her mother, Lynda.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Paris revealed Tyson’s absence, saying: ‘Usually he’s there by my side, but he had to bail out on because he’s fully immersed in to training at camp. He was there until a few hours before Rico was born.’

Conor McGregor insists he ‘wasn’t happy’ with Dana White’s BRUTAL response to trilogy fight between the UFC star and Nate Diaz… as Irishman claims he wants a ‘conversation’ over bout with American rival

Conor McGregor has insisted that he he ‘wasn’t happy’ with Dana White‘s brutal put-down over a potential trilogy fight for the Irishman and rival Nate Diaz.

McGregor, who is yet to secure a return bout since he broke his left tibia and fibula against Dustin Poirier in July 2021, had expressed his interest in fighting twice this year, including one bout against old rival Nate Diaz.

However, UFC chief White had other ideas when he addressed the potential bout during the UFC 299 post-fight press conference.

‘Yeah, I’m not doing that fight,’ White told reporters in the press conference, putting to bed any rumours that he was keen to seen the two do battle one final time.

Now, in response to White, McGregor has hit back and insisted that he wasn’t pleased the UFC chief poured ‘cold water’ on the bout immediately.

Speaking to talkSPORT, McGregor said: ‘Obviously I’ve got the [Nate] Diaz trilogy. That’s what I had said for The Sphere.

‘You know, there was cold water put on that publicly off the bat, and I wasn’t happy with that.

‘So, I need discussion or conversation because if I lose interest, if I’m not getting anything back, I just drift off.’

Despite interest in a fight with Diaz, McGregor seemed set to face Michael Chandler this year, but the fight is still yet to be confirmed with the Irishman expressing his frustration at a lack of action in the sport.

He has expressed his desire to take on Chandler for a number of months, but it seems the bout is making little progress in terms of being confirmed for this year.

‘I wish for [that Diaz fight] on Mexican Independence Day in the Sphere,’ McGregor wrote on social media this week. ‘Chandler, June. Diaz, September. I have let this be known.’

McGregor emphasised wanting to fight Chandler at UFC 303 during International Fight Week.

On New Year’s Eve, he posted a video announcing a supposed 185lb bout against Iron Mike at the week’s culminating pay-per-view event.

McGregor and Chandler’s clash was foreshadowed with a season of The Ultimate Fighter in 2023.

The pair served as opposing coaches in the UFC’s reality show, seemingly to parade McGregor’s highly-anticipated return.

Diaz, meanwhile, beat McGregor via submission in March 2016, before the Irishman got his revenge and won the rematch via decision in August.

  • British F1 legend urges Christian Horner to RESIGN, as he claims Max Verstappen is ‘very close’ to leaving Red Bull amid allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ made against Geri Halliwell’s husband

British F1 legend urges Christian Horner to RESIGN, as he claims Max Verstappen is ‘very close’ to leaving Red Bull amid allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ made against Geri Halliwell’s husband

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner should resign, according to a British F1 legend, amid allegations of ‘inappropriate behaviour’ made against him.

An internal investigation was carried out prior to the 2024 season following a complaint made by a female employee at Red Bull, and Horner, who is married to former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, was cleared of any wrongdoing just a day before the first practice session ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix.

However, texts allegedly sent by Horner to his female colleague were then leaked to a number of key F1 figures and the media just 24 hours later, bringing his conduct back into the spotlight.

Horner, 50, has continued to maintain his innocence and his Red Bull team have made a dominant start to the season by securing successive one-two finishes, but doubts have emerged over the future of their star driver Max Verstappen.

Johnny Herbert, who raced in F1 for more than a decade and is now a pundit for Sky Sports, believes the scandal surrounding Horner is an unwelcome distraction for the sport and has urged the Red Bull chief to step down, while also claiming he has heard Verstappen could soon make a sensational switch to a rival team.

‘It’s not a good thing for F1 with the whole thing going on and the belated heat on it,’ Herbert told The Sun.

‘It doesn’t help the situation for Red Bull who have the best driver in the world at the present time.

‘And they’re very close to pushing [Max Verstappen] out off the team, I’ve heard they are getting quite close with the deal with Mercedes. It seems like a stupid thing to do, their biggest asset is not the Christian Horner show.

‘It would be crazy for Max to leave because of the situation. Jos has said it will be very destructive and rip it apart and I think it’s gone on for far too long. In some respects, Christian should really think about it and step aside.’

Verstappen’s father, Jos, reportedly told friends recently that his son will leave Red Bull if he has to, identifying Mercedes as a possible option, and Herbert appears to feel this move is genuinely on the cards.

A free seat is set to become available at Mercedes at the end of the season, with Lewis Hamilton due to join Ferrari ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Herbert is not the only high-profile name to call for Horner to resign, as Michael Schumacher’s brother Ralf also believes he must leave his position.

Ralf recently accused Horner of causing ‘immense damage’ at Red Bull, and slammed the husband of Halliwell for ‘portraying himself as a victim’.

Halliwell has stood by Horner in recent weeks, with the couple delivering a public display of unity by holding hands on race day at the Bahrain Grand Prix earlier this month.

But Horner is not out of the woods just yet, as his accuser has launched an appeal against Red Bull’s investigation that cleared him of any wrongdoing.

She is reportedly unhappy that she was not shown the full sex-text dossier before the internal inquiry reached their verdict.

Following a break last weekend, F1 is set to resume this week with Horner and co arriving in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.
