Ex-Ferrari engineer Rob Smedley expects Lewis Hamilton to give the Maranello-based outfit that final push in their fight against an already vulnerable Red Bull. The Milton-Keynes-based team has been dominating the sport since 2022 and despite looking like the favorites to win the championship this year too, Smedley believes that his ex-employers are closer to Red Bull than before. Hamilton, who joins Ferrari in 2025, could make the difference when it counts.

Speaking on the Formula for Success podcast, Smedley said, “Ok, Red Bull have focused on 2024. But if you look at the gap to Ferrari, especially in qualifying in Bahrain, they are right there. I think someone like Lewis can give Ferrari an extra percentage point or two: that’s all they need.”

Ferrari have been the second-best team so far this season. Red Bull secured two 1-2 finishes in the opening round, but Ferrari don’t look too far behind in a single lap pace as Smedley pointed out. Races haven’t been too bad either, with Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc getting a third placed finish each. Still, Smedley feels that Hamilton can make that extra jump that the team needs.

Ferrari seems to agree with Smedley in his assessment of Hamilton’s potential impact. The contract that Ferrari agreed to while signing Hamilton is worth north of $400 million, and gives the Briton an opportunity to collaborate with Ferrari on his 0ff-track ventures.

Max Verstappen’s home Grand Prix is on the verge of achieving a unique accomplishment. It shall soon become the venue where race attendees leave 0% net carbon footprint, thanks to eco-friendly travel. Per an update on X by Vincenzo Landino, the race organizers and attendees are nearly there, with 98% of people already opting for eco-friendly travel practices.

The organizers of the Dutch GP have laid out a meticulous mobility plan for the people attending the race. They have created ‘Park and Bike’ locations for people to use bikes to reach the race venue. Furthermore, a lot of emphasis is laid on walking and using public transport. Moreover, they want to keep as many cars out of Zandvoort as possible so that they don’t have to cut down trees to make more space for parking cars. Organizers aim to achieve a 100% net zero carbon footprint by 2025.

The 2% of attendees that left a carbon footprint included F1 teams, media personnel, and other staff. These people arrived in their personal cars, further highlighting the massive steps taken by the event organizers to ensure the race remains as eco-friendly as possible.

The official website of the Dutch GP quoted the words of Race Director Robert van Overdijk as he gave insights into the event’s achievements. He said that they implemented a ‘smart grid’ where they bundled generators to cope with peak demand and reduce fuel usage. Furthermore, they use HVO100 Fuel to save an additional 82.5% on their carbon footprint.

According to Davidson, F1 drivers focus on their driving style in adherence to the car’s setup and potential. Simulator drivers like himself, however, focus on only one thing- the development of the car.

The regulatory body has issued a list of things that won’t be allowed in Albert Park, the race’s venue. Among those items lie Hamilton and Alonso’s favorite mode of transport within the paddock.

On X, Austrian GP’s official account announced that eight items – alcohol, glass bottles, flares, camera lenses, drones, skateboards, weapons, and scooters – are prohibited items for this weekend’s race. Nicki Minaj was featured on the original version of the song and it was even included on the track list for Ye’s collaborative album Vultures with Ty Dolla Sign which was released last month.

However,  the 41-year-old Trinidadian rapper declined the verse to be included on the release.

This was not the first time that this has happened as it was previewed at listening parties for Ye’s 2019 album Jesus Is King but it was ultimately scrapped due to creative differences between the two rap stars.

The track debunked body shaming and the stigma surrounding plastic surgery, however, the Jesus Is King version had Christian-themed lyrics.

In June 2020, Nicki had expressed interest in the song being released after a version leaked on TikTok, however, it never came to fruition.

Just days ago Ye responded in an astonishing fashion to American online streamer and YouTuber Kai Cenat, accusing the streamer of ‘dissing’ his YZY clothing range as fired out a warning, saying ‘don’t play with me’.

Kanye’s comments came after Kai, 22, was sent some clothing from West’s new YZY line, which he tried on for fans during a livestreaming service Twitch stream.

The streamer continued: ‘All I did was try on the sweats and it didn’t fit. No jokes made. I immediately asked for a new pair.’

Kanye subsequently replied: ‘So you ain’t do nothing wrong? So I felt this way for no reason?’

Kai then simply responded with a one word answer, writing ‘Yes’, which Kanye did not take too kindly to.

The feud between the pair comes after Kai was freed from police custody just hours after he was arrested for inciting a riot in New York City’s Union Square on Friday August 4 2023.
