Ruth Langsford drops jaws as she parties night away at raucous 30th birthday party

Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford sent fans wild as she donned a fabulous 70’s outfit to celebrate the 30th birthday of her close pal alongside stars including Denise Van Outen

Many are perhaps used to seeing presenter Ruth Langsford looking rather conservative while on the panel of Loose Women.

But Ruth showed off a more fun-loving side to her character when she sported a 1970’s outfit for a friend’s themed birthday bash. Wearing a pair of heart shaped pink tinted glasses, Ruth complimented her look with a shiny black top underneath a multi-coloured sequined jacket.

The TV personality, 63, who is married to Eamon Holmes, completed her look with a pair of denim jeans and gold high heeled shoes. In a series of stories on her Instagram, Ruth first posted a video of her and a pal in a dressing room with a caption that read: “Uber on it’s way sweetie!”

The next video was of her getting into the party spirit as she filmed her self dancing before heading to the bash. She captioned the video saying: “You jivin hun?” The next few clips were of the birthday girl named Liv Davey, who appears to be a make-up artist. In another video, Liv is seen dancing alongside Denise Van Outen, who was DJing, while having the time of her life. Denise also shared clips on Instagram, writing: “Happy 30th Liv!”

In a picture, it seems as though Ruth is looking to add more strings to her bow as she was snapped imitating a DJ. Earlier this month, Ruth sent fans into hysterics when she attempted the “of course” trend that is taking social media by storm.

The trend sees people address stereotypes or perceptions related to their particular careers or identity. Keeping up to date with the current trend, Ruth was seen posing in an outfit from her QVC clothing range as she told viewers: “I’m Ruth Langsford… of course I always model my own designs.” She was then seen standing in a kitchen, where she teased tea preferences.

  • Loose Women star ‘no plans to go back’ to ITV show ahead of 25th anniversary

Loose Women star ‘no plans to go back’ to ITV show ahead of 25th anniversary

A fan favourite on Loose Women has reportedly quit the ITV daytime show with a source saying there’s no ‘discussion with a regards to their return whatsoever’

One of the stars of Loose Women has quit the show with “no plans to go back”, according to reports.

Jane McDonald, 60, left her role as a panellist on the ITV show in 2014 after enjoying a successful 10-year tenure on the ITV daytime programme and was rumoured to be coming back for Loose Women’s 25th anniversary in September. However, it’s now been claimed the much-loved singer from Wakefield won’t be returning to the studio anytime soon.

Speaking about getting her back on the daytime show, which is hosted by presenters, including Kaye Adams and Ruth Langsford, a source said: “In September, Loose Women will celebrate 25 years on air, a feat nobody, especially the critics, thought they could achieve.”

They added: “But they have proved everybody wrong and bosses want to go all-out with the celebrations, including bringing back some Loose Women legends. And top of the list is Jane McDonald. For many, she is the ultimate Loose Woman and they will do anything to make sure she’s involved,” reports Bella magazine.

However, according to Entertainment Daily, a spokesperson for Jane shut down the rumours, saying: “There are no discussions taking place with regards to Jane returning to Loose Women whatsoever. She always thoroughly enjoys going back as a guest and catching up with the ladies but there’s no plans to go back as a panellist.” When contacted by the Mirror, a spokesperson for Jane confirmed this comment was “accurate”.

Jane, whose eagerly-awaited All My love tour starts in October, made her last appearance on Loose Women in September 2023 as a guest. Speaking about her departure from the much-loved show when she left as panellist back in 2014, she said: “It’s easy to keep doing something safe, but I’m a singer. It’s been an incredible ten years and I’ve loved every minute of it.”

The Cruise star has achieved huge successes in her career as a television personality, but has sadly been much less fortunate in her love life away from the cameras.

In March 2021, Jane’s teenage lover and partner of 13 years, Walter ‘Eddie’ Rothe, tragically passed away at the age of 67, after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Jane met her childhood sweetheart again by chance, while she was working on Loose Women and Eddie was doing an appearance nearby with The Searchers on This Morning. On her nerves at seeing him after 27 years apart, she told the Mirror: “I almost had to be dragged to see him. But then it was, ‘Oh my God! Big smiles’ and he lifted me off the floor and said, ‘Where have you been?’”

They couple remained together for more than 12 years, but sadly never married as Eddie tragically died on March 26, 2021. Jane opened up about her loss on Loose Women, crediting her work as her “‘saviour” throughout her “devastating” grief. She then expressed thanks for her loved ones, adding, “It is the support and the network that I have around me that has helped me through. I couldn’t have done it without the people around me.”

The Mirror has contacted ITV for comment on this story.

  • King Charles’s latest move has ‘huge significance’ for key reasons in his battle with cancer. Hope his health gets better soon!

King Charles’s latest move has ‘huge significance’ for key reasons in his battle with cancer. Hope his health gets better soon!

EXCLUSIVE: King Charles’s strength and determination during the past two days were praised by a royal commentator who said his recent move carries quite a ‘significance’.

King Charles put on a brave display today as he spoke of his “profound sense of gratitude” to those who fought in the summer of 1944, during a commemorative ceremony in France for the 80th anniversary of the historic D-day invasion in Normandy.

The monarch said that while the number of living veterans was dwindling, “our obligation to remember what they stood for and what they achieved for us all can never diminish.”

Charles and Queen Camilla appeared visibly moved as the memories of a D-Day veteran were read out, with both the King and Queen seen wiping away a tear.

The King, who is slowly returning to public-facing duties after a short break, brushed off his recent cancer diagnosis to attend today’s event as well as yesterday’s poignant ceremonies in Normandy and Portsmouth.

He is currently undergoing treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer after being diagnosed back in February.

Now a royal commentator has praised Charles for his strength and determination to attend such events, adding that his appearances both in Portsmouth and Normandy have an ” enormous symbolic significance” for one simple reason.

Veteran royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told the Express: “As monarch, King Charles symbolises national unity and his presence at Portsmouth yesterday and at the British Normandy Memorial at Ver-sur-Mer today, has enormous symbolic significance as he is Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

“Since he is undergoing treatment for cancer, there is enormous pressure on him.

“Both from his doctors who are well aware of his workaholic tendencies and also because his appearances mean he can personally pay tribute, as he did in his speech yesterday, to those who served so bravely.

“He and the Queen were deeply moved at yesterday’s event.”

Mr Fitzwilliams suggested that Charles’s service in the military has given him a special connection with the Armed Forces, “who now owe their allegiance to him, the importance of this is not the power he has, but the power he denies to others.”

He added: “Despite his illness, he knows it is pivotal he attends national events when he can and also that Prince William, who has served in all three services, represents him when world leaders gather at the international commemorative ceremony on Omaha Beach today.

“In this way, the monarchy serves as a uniquely unifying force in our public life.”

Princess Anne shared a sweet moment with a British D-Day veteran as she attended a poignant memorial service in France.

The Princess Royal met the former servicemen as they gathered in Normandy to remember fallen colleagues and their own efforts, ahead of the 80th anniversary of the Second World War campaign to liberate Europe from Nazi rule.

She joined veterans and their families at the Royal British Legion’s (RBL) poignant service of commemoration at Bayeux War Cemetery, where the congregation was surrounded by the manicured graves of more than 4,000 military casualties.

Later she took part in a solemn vigil in the cemetery, and described “the nervous trepidation of those allied sailors, soldiers and airmen who, 80 years ago today, were charged with storming the Normandy coastline and beginning the campaign to free western Europe from Nazi tyranny”.

Before the RBL’s service began, Anne chatted to Don Jones, 99, who served in the Royal Navy ferrying men and equipment on to Sword Beach.

She told the veteran that a reason she carries out her role “is because I meet people like you”.

Mr Jones, from Mold, North Wales, was a 19-year-old Able Seamen with the Royal Navy and said he focused on his job on June 6 1944 as the cacophony of battle was so great.

He said after speaking to the princess: “I was in the Royal Navy on a tank landing craft, we took tanks and materials across and were dropping them off on Sword Beach. Then the following two months we were backwards and forwards with materials.

The veteran added: “It was so busy, I couldn’t absorb everything that was going on, the noise was so great. The bigger ships with the huge guns were firing over us all the time, firing inland to try and clear the enemy positions.”

A minute’s silence was observed in remembrance of the fallen and readings were given of first-hand accounts of British Forces who were tasked during the Normandy Landings with taking the stretch of coastline codenamed Sword Beach.

Former RAF Sergeant Bernard Morgan was a code breaker who landed on Gold Beach in the early evening of D-Day and saw the grim sight of drowned servicemen.

The 100-year-old veteran, from Crewe, said after chatting with Anne, who was joined by her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence: “The thing I remember was seeing all the dead bodies on the beach.

“They arrived in the morning in small landing crafts that brought them into seven or eight feet of water, so when they stepped off they went straight down and with all the equipment they couldn’t get up.”

During the vigil, held late in the evening, Anne commented on her husband’s uncle, Sub-Lieutenant Keith Symons who, at the age of 20, was in command of three landing craft at Gold Beach in the first wave on D-Day.

She said in her speech: “Recalling in his memoirs the evening of 5th June he wrote: ‘At last it was time for our briefing. Our confidence was dented by predictions that casualties in the first wave were likely to be heavy.

“‘Everyone was quite subdued, but it was all very matter-of-fact. They were in those days. After supper we sat around making light conversation and listening to the chaplain playing his violin.’”

Earlier, the princess hailed the “loyalty, bravery and duty” of the Royal Regina Rifles, as she unveiled a statue representing a rifleman from the Canadian unit which fought on D-Day.

The ceremony was staged in Place des Canadiens in the picturesque town of Bretteville l’Orgueilleuse, where in the days following the famous June 6 landings the regiment resisted enemy counterattacks head-on, without giving up any ground.

Prince Harry says it’s ‘great to be back in the UK’

Prince Harry and Meghan conducted a quasi-royal tour and the reviews are divided, with some saying it was a success story and others saying it could be damaging.

But there is one voice in the crowd providing a suggestion on how to make everyone happy.

Harry and Meghan travelled to Nigeria as private citizens, but they conducted themselves like senior working royals, which can be really confusing for onlookers.

Podcast Royal’s Jessica Robinson emphasises the importance in differentiating between the two.

She said: “If a member of the public is unable to differentiate between, let’s say, a Harry and Meghan trip and an official royal tour by someone in the family, and we have some sort of a scandal pop-up, like this one, it can be really reputation damaging for the royals.”

Burchfield is referring to Harry and Meghan crossing paths with Dr Allen Onyema, CEO of Air Peace, who has a history of criminal activity in the US.

Harry and Meghan flew Air Peace and Dr Allen was one of the officials to greet the Sussexes when arriving to Nigeria.

Robinson gives Harry and Meghan the benefit of the doubt, suggesting they didn’t know about his criminal activity, but even so, they need to be careful about who they come into contact with and how the conduct themselves.

The royal expert said: “We don’t know if Harry and Meghan were aware of his status, or alleged criminal activity, but I will say, it takes me back to the comments I made last week, when I said, the Royal Family has to be really careful about how they draw distinctions between official royal tours and Harry and Meghan taking trips that mirror royal tours.”

During the podcast, Robinson talks about how the Sussexes can handle things going forward, since Harry did talk about doing more visits like this down the road.

She adds: “I think their team is going to have to do their due diligence when they’re scheduling these engagements with individuals in foreign countries, especially in countries where there may be a lot of corruption.”

Harry and Meghan just hired two PR professionals, with historian Gareth Russell can already tell the difference, saying: “This is the kind of thing they should be doing.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been working on establishing their brand independently of their royal ties since stepping down from their roles.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could include their children in their future projects, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have mostly kept Prince Archie Harrison, five, and Princess Lilibet Diana, three, away from the spotlight in line with their plans to have a more private life.

Archie and Lilibet have briefly appeared in the couple’s first major Netflix project, the docuseries Harry & Meghan, but have rarely been seen in public.

However, author Tom Quinn suggested the arrangement could soon change now that the couple have hinted at plans to embark on more visits abroad to promote their work.

Mr Quinn claimed the “charming” family will likely attract the exact type of attention Harry and Meghan will need to boost their popularity and the Sussex brand.

meghan markle carries lilibet and archie in garden

Harry and Meghan have mostly kept Archie and Lilibet away from the spotlight (Image: Netflix)

Speaking to The Mirror, Mr Quinn said: “Harry and Meghan are incredibly proud of their children, and when they are a little older and better able to travel, there is no doubt they will be taken on some of the couple’s tours.

“Meghan is acutely aware of what a great look this will be, the charming royal couple with their charming royal children will attract the sort of publicity that Harry and Meghan crave, especially now that they are so determined to be billionaire entrepreneurs.”

Archie and Lilibet did not accompany their mum and dad on their recent three-day visit to Nigeria but Harry opened the door to the scenario as he insisted he and Meghan want to travel more in the future.

During the visit, the Duke said: “There’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom.

“So we look forward to travelling more…there will always be reasons to meet the people at the heart of our work.”

Archie and Lilibet may grow to resent parents says Hervey

Mr Quinn’s suggestion comes as the Duchess reportedly faces “some challenges” with the launch of her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Meghan is said to be grappling with decisions on whether to make her products accessible to all or focus on a luxury-oriented clientele.

She will also need to tread carefully with any reference to her royal connections.

Brand strategist Lucie Green said: “Positioning will be a tightrope, whether to go very high-end and exclusive or make the brand more accessible.

“How much she (even obliquely) makes royal references will always draw criticism but dialling that up will likely be appealing to many US audiences, just as Aerin Lauder and Martha Stewart make upper-class references in their brands but have wide audiences.”

The creation of American Riviera Orchard was unveiled with a surprise Instagram post in March but details of the effective launch are still unavailable.

Prince Harry warned against ‘concerning’ move that threatens ‘new stress’ for Royal Family

A royal commentator cautioned Prince Harry against writing a second memoir about the royals.

Prince Harry was warned against writing a second memoir as that would put the Royal Family through “great stress”, according to a royal commentator.

Last week royal author Robert Hardman suggested there may be a second part to the Duke of Sussex’s Spare during an appearance at the Hay Festival.

According to the Independent, Mr Hardman said the book only features four or five pages about Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, adding: “Now, as an author, that says to me one thing and one thing only: part two might be on its way.”

However, US-based journalist Lee Cohen warned against any such moves by the duke and said it would be “extremely ill-advised” for him to pen a second book as the royals are currently battling a series of illnesses.

He told GBN America: “A second memoir is conceivable given the scant coverage in the first book of his wedding to Meghan Markle.

    Prince Harry

“This raises significant concerns. It would be extremely ill-advised for Harry to pen a second memoir.

“This is most critical for the new stress it would induce for his family, who are already ailing with serious health crises.”

Mr Cohen added that another “hateful book” would further “tank Harry’s already languishing public esteem”.

He explained: “Harry’s initial memoir already delved far too deeply into private family matters, making any further trust by his family impossible.”

In Spare, Harry made a series of explosive claims about the Royal Family.

The duke spoke about life within the Firm and he attacked several royals, including King Charles, Prince William and Princess Kate.

One of the duke’s most striking claims was that he was physically attacked by his brother during an altercation in 2019 over Meghan Markle.

The dynamics between Meghan Markle and George Clooney have apparently changed.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry seem to have hit a snag in their friendship with Hollywood A-lister George Clooney. Reports suggest that the once close pals are no longer as tight-knit as they used to be since Meghan and Harry tied the knot in 2018.

Previously described as “bosom buddies”, Meghan and George enjoyed each other’s company, and George and his wife, Amal, were frequent visitors to the royal couple’s homes in LA and Oxfordshire, the Daily Mirror reported.

However, it appears that the dynamics have changed, with George and Amal seemingly forming a closer bond with King Charles, even making an appearance at a Prince’s Trust event in London.

The shift in their friendship has become evident when George was asked if he knew Meghan. The Gravity actor simply replied, “I don’t”. Notably, he did attend their Windsor Chapel wedding in the past, according to the Mail.

George Clooney Defends Meghan Markle and Compares Her to Princess Diana Amidst Media Criticism
The reports of the fallout between the Clooneys and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex come amid speculations that Meghan is looking to establish herself as a “power player” in Hollywood. Recently, Meghan was reported to have signed with a renowned Hollywood talent agency, William Morris Endeavour, in hopes of rubbing shoulders with the LA elite.

LiveMint earlier reported that Harry and Meghan are contemplating a potential move to Malibu, home of A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio. According to reports, they are exploring the option of purchasing a property in the charming area of Malibu, which would offer them a closer proximity to the bustling heart of Los Angeles.

However, it seems that not all Hollywood A-listers are extending a warm welcome to the couple. Filmmaker Steven Spielberg and talk show queen Oprah Winfrey have allegedly left them off their invite lists.

Other influential figures in the industry, such as Rob Lowe and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, have also been rumoured to have distanced themselves from the couple. Interestingly, all these celebrities have homes in Montecito, which are just a stone’s throw away from Meghan and Harry’s mansion.

Thomas recalled seeing the couple at his and Meghan’s grandmother Doris’ funeral. He told royal biographer Andrew Morton: “She was completely head over heels and seemed really happy when I saw them together, despite the sad circumstances. They seemed extremely happy together.”

Trevor, a Hollywood producer and agent, met Meghan back in 2004 and the couple lived together in Los Angeles.

They tied the knot in 2011 at a beautiful wedding in Jamaica with their friends and family.

It was around this time that Meghan’s paternal grandmother Doris was unwell, and Meghan frequently visited her before she sadly died that year.

Her funeral was the first time several of the Markle family had met Trevor.

However, the couple’s wedding coincided with Meghan moving to Toronto to film Suits, which she starred in for seven seasons.

The distance, as well as their opposing personalities, eventually wore them down and they divorced in 2013.

Meghan reportedly sent her rings back to Trevor in the post.

Despite his earlier comments about the couple seeming very happy at the funeral, Thomas admitted in an interview this year that, even then, he had some reservations about the relationship.

    thomas markle jnr

He told Express.co.uk: “I met Trevor two or three times before my grandmother’s funeral ‒ he’s a really good guy, really nice guy.

“But then at my grandmother’s funeral I saw this side of Meghan, like scowling at him and him cowering like a puppy dog and doing what he’s told.

“And really just treating him like… and he worshipped the ground she walked on.”

Despite their near decade-long relationship and Meghan’s rise to royal stardom, Trevor has never spoken to the press about her.

However, according to Mr Morton’s 2018 biography ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’, he had been shocked by the break-up and still felt bitterly about it after five years.

One of Meghan’s oldest friends, Ninaki Priddy reportedly told writer Rebecca Hardy: “It was such a surprise for Trevor that even at a distance of five years, he can barely contain his anger.

“The normally affable laid-back New Yorker switching gear from his usual ‘hi bro, how’s it going?’ to a cold fury when her name comes into the conversation.”

This is backed up by Thomas’ claim that Trevor told him never to mention Meghan’s name to him.

Meghan Markle’s first husband ‘worshipped her’ says brother

He told Express.co.uk: “I even talked to Trevor a couple of times on a project I was trying to put together and he said ‘I’ll talk to you, but don’t ever mention her name because I’ll hang up on you. I don’t want to hear her name. Period.’”

Thomas added that he could not understand the break-up, because Trevor was a man “who would have given her everything”.

He claimed Trevor had “plenty of money”, a successful production company and treated Meghan well.

After the divorce, Meghan dated restauranter Cory Vitiello for two years before meeting Prince Harry in London in 2016.

Meghan and Harry had their fairytale wedding in 2018, had their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in 2019 and at the beginning of this year stepped down as senior royals.

Meanwhile, Trevor married dietician Tracey Kurland in California last year.
