  • Prince Harry ‘misses Princess Diana every day’ as he shares heartbreaking admission

Prince Harry ‘misses Princess Diana every day’ as he shares heartbreaking admission

Prince Harry bared all about his feelings towards the late Princess Diana, who he described as ‘simply indescribable’ after comparisons to the likes of Mother Teresa

Prince Harry was only 12 when his mum, Princess Diana, was killed in a car crash on August 31, 1997.

However, he has been committed ever since to carrying on her legacy and continues to talk with pride over the late Princess. In his controversial memoir titled Spare, the Duke of Sussex bared all and shared a heartbreaking admission following the death of his mother.

In the book, he explained how he would find himself longing for his mum at times and found it hard to put into words his feelings.

He also admitted any comparisons between Diana and Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa felt “wide of the mark”. While he said such comparisons were “lofty and loving”, he explained how she was “simply indescribable”.

Describing his feelings that followed years after her passing, Harry candidly shared: “How was it possible that I could see her, clear as the swan skimming towards me on that indigo lake? How could I hear her laughter, loud as the songbirds in the bare trees—still? There was so much I didn’t remember, because I was so young when she died, but the greater miracle was all that I did.”

He went on to gush over her “devastating smile” and “vulnerable eyes” and reminisced over her love of clothes, sweets and music, just like him and his brother, Prince William. He ended the passage by reiterating just how much her loved his mum.

During a charity event in April, the prince also paid a sweet tribute to his mother. He spoke about his work for Sentebale, an organisation he he founded in memory of his mother. The charity helps young people in Africa who have been affected by HIV and AIDS and was set up by Harry and his friend Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.

Speaking about his mum, he told the audience: “He said: “My mother had a strong focus on HIV and AIDS but also of the younger generation because it’s their futures that are being stolen from them. And at the heart of Sentebale, what we’ve always believed is that every single young person should have a chance at a better future.”

Prince William’s heartbreaking brutal demand left Prince Harry isolated and alone

Prince Harry has made a series of revelations about his relationship with his older brother Prince William in his memoir Spare, and the siblings are still estranged after years of feuding

Prince William’s heartbreaking brutal demand left Prince Harry isolated and alone while at school.

The 39-year-old Duke of Sussex made the revelation in his memoir Spare, and claimed that his big brother was so desperate to keep his social circle while at Eton he didn’t even acknowledge Harry. The siblings, who are only two years apart, both attended the prestigious private school as young boys, but it was William who was determined to keep away from his little brother, despite Harry claiming he was struggling at school.

The Duke recalled his tumultuous years at Eton in his explosive memoir, and revealed that he approached his big brother for help after quickly realising that he was “in way, way over my head” at Eton. Harry recalled his teachers would tell him that William was always on hand to help him, but the prince was heartbroken when he finally plucked up the courage to ask his brother for help.

“Willy told me to pretend I didn’t know him,” Harry wrote. “‘You don t know me, Harold. And I don’t know you.’” The distraught young prince was left feeling isolated and alone as he claimed William was desperate to cling onto his friends at Eton without having to deal with his “pestering” younger brother. “For the last two years, he explained, Eton had been his sanctuary. No kid brother tagging along, pestering him with questions, pushing up on his social circle. He was forging his own life, and he wasn’t willing to give that up,” Harry wrote.

The prince had a tough time at Eton, and revealed he was also nicknamed ‘Prince Thicko’ by his schoolmates when a cheating scandal emerged. Harry was accused of cheating in an art project, and while he was later cleared by the school board, the prince claimed Buckingham Palace prevented him from defending himself publicly. “Never complain, never explain,” he wrote in Spare. “I was forced to sit by and say nothing while the papers called me a cheat,” adding “how do you ‘cheat’ on an art project?”

Harry started at Eton in September 1998, and was crowned House Captain of Games and represented the school at rugby, cricket and polo, and left in 2003. While his grades were never made public by Buckingham Palace, they did reveal at the time that he gained 11 GCSEs and two A-Levels, gaining a B in Art and D in Geography.

Kate Middleton to return to public life amid cancer but admits she’s ‘not out woods’

Kate Middleton is “not out of the woods yet” but is making “good progress” as she continues to have cancer treatment but will return to public life by taking part in the Trooping the Colour

The Princess of Wales will delight the nation this weekend by taking part in the Trooping the Colour to celebrate the King’s official birthday after revealing she’s making “good progress” but is “not out of the woods yet”.

In a statement released tonight on the eve of the event, Kate said she has “good days and bad days”. She added that she “hopes to join a few public engagements over the summer” as she continues treatment for cancer “for a few more months”.

Speaking for the first time since revealing her cancer ordeal in March, the Princess released the heartfelt personal message to the nation and spoke positively about her illness, despite still undergoing the preventative chemotherapy.

A Palace source said she is “doing well” and “very much looking forward to being with her family” during the King’s birthday parade on Saturday, where she is expected to appear on Buckingham Palace balcony. The Princess released a serene and beautiful new photograph taken by celebrity and royal photographer Matt Porteous to go with her message, which was taken in the grounds of the Windsor estate under a weeping willow tree.

Kate, 42, announced she would be joining her three children George, 10, Princess Charlotte, nine and Prince Louis, five, in a state carriage down The Mall for the big family moment. Prince William will take part in the military parade on horseback.

The Princess wanted to take part to show support to her children, her family and her love for the King, who is also having cancer treatment. She said in a personal message: “I have been blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement over the last couple of months.

“It really has made the world of difference to William and me and has helped us both through some of the harder times. I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days you feel weak, tired and you have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well. My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months.

“On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home. I’m looking forward to attending The King’s Birthday Parade this weekend with my family and hope to join a few public engagements over the summer, but equally knowing I am not out of the woods yet.

“I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal. Thank you so much for your continued understanding, and to all of you who have so bravely shared your stories with me.”

Prior to her announcement royal sources confirmed the princess had personally spoken to the King – who is also undergoing cancer treatment after being diagnosed with the disease in February – and informed him of her wish to join him and the royal family for the parade.

A spokesperson for the King said: “His Majesty is delighted that The Princess is able to attend tomorrow’s events, and is very much looking forward to all elements of the day”. Kate, 42, will travel in a state carriage with her children and will then watch the parade from the Major General’s Office with the rest of the family before joining them on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

The future queen is to make the “surprise” appearance even though she did not attend the Colonel’s Review on June 8th – the traditional rehearsal for the birthday parade. Kate, who is the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards, had written to them to apologise for missing it and wishing them luck. She said: “Please pass my apologies to the whole Regiment, however, I do hope that I am able to represent you all once again very soon.”

Lieutenant General James Bucknall will be taking the salute on her behalf. Trooping the Colour is the annual military parade marking the reigning British monarch’s official birthday. It has also been revealed the Princess has started working from home as it brings her “joy” but she is aware she still needs time to heal.

A royal source added: “this is a real journey and it takes time. And it’s very important the princess takes the time to recover”. The princess said both she, her husband Prince William and the entire Wales family are “deeply grateful” for the outpouring of love and support she has received around the world since she revealed her diagnosis in March.

In her heartfelt message to the nation, the princess also revealed that she hopes to attend some summer events as she feels able to and with the help of her medical team – but it is not at all a return to a full schedule.

Royal sources said any such public duties would be measured with how she is feeling at any given time and would not include next week’s Order of the Garter ceremony or any part of the Royal Ascot festival where other members of the royal family including the King and Queen are expected to be present.

Already she has been carrying out some duties from home, catching up on her reading and holding meetings because her work brings her “joy”. Those meetings have included briefings with her Kensington palace team, The Royal Foundation and the Centre for Early Childhood.

The Prince is said to have been pleased to see The Princess starting to engage with the work and projects that are important to her and will continue to focus on supporting her and his children while doing his own public duties. The photograph released was taken by Matt Porteous to reflect her love of nature which has been supporting her recovery. Since January, both King Charles and his daughter-in-law Kate, have been diagnosed with cancer and forced to take time away from their public duties.

King Charles has since returned to a slimmed down schedule of public duties, including travelling to Normandy for the D-Day 80th anniversary earlier this month. But Kate has not been seen publicly since March, when she revealed her cancer diagnosis in a video message to the nation. The Princess had stopped all public appearances after announcing her cancer diagnosis and having successful “planned abdominal surgery” in January.

In March, she released a video statement thanking the public for their “understanding” as she recovered from surgery. She explained: “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family. In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment. This of course came as a huge shock…”

  • David Beckham’s ‘mortifying’ chat with Prince Harry over Victoria and Meghan’s ‘row’

David Beckham’s ‘mortifying’ chat with Prince Harry over Victoria and Meghan’s ‘row’

The Beckhams seemed to be enjoying a blossoming friendship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle once the former actress moved to London. But the cracks soon started to show

They are two of the most famous couples in the world, who once enjoyed a close friendship. But relations between the Beckhams and the Sussexes seem to have soured significantly in recent years.

Initially, the foursome were said to be close, with David and Victoria eager to make Meghan feel welcome in the UK. In fact, there were reports that Victoria had given Meghan access to her little black book of her favourite hairdressers and stylists in London.

But this marked a turning point for the couples. When private details concerning their friendship – including Victoria’s offers of help – started cropped up in the news, Meghan reportedly suspected Victoria had ‘leaked’ them – promoting a ‘mortifying’ phone conversation between their husbands.

On the awkward chat, a source told The Sun: “Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified. Inexplicably, [Meghan] feared Victoria was behind it — I mean, the idea that Victoria Beckham would be personally ringing journalists to give them a scoop is ridiculous — and spoke to Harry about it.

“Harry is very protective of Meghan, and decided to deal with the matter head-on, by directly contacting his good pal, David. He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on — but it certainly made things awkward for a while.”

Indeed, David and Victoria were invited to attend Harry and Meghan’s wedding in May 2018 – but they did not receive an invitation for the wedding dinner, which is said to have irked the couple.

A short time later, the royals headed off on a tour of Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, which coincided with the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney. Harry had asked David to be an ambassador for the Invictus Games with the former footballer travelling Down Under for the event.

But things turned sour when the Prince reportedly refused to see David in Sydney. It was claimed that the reason Harry was keeping his friend at arms’ length was Meghan – who still feared Victoria was leaking stories about her to the press.

More recently there have been signs that all has not been right between the Sussexes and the Beckhams. In 2022 when David and Victoria’s eldest son Brooklyn married actress Nicola Peltz in a lavish wedding in Florida, Harry and Meghan were nowhere to be seen.

Similarly, last summer when David welcomed football superstar Lionel Messi to his Inter Miami team, a star-studded crowd were in attendance for his debut. But again the Sussexes weren’t there.

It’s thought that one major issue between the Sussexes and the Beckhams is David’s close connection to Prince William and King Charles.

Like Harry, William has known David and Victoria for many years and the Beckhams were in Westminster Abbey when he married Kate Middleton back in 2011. In fact, Kate has worn a Victoria Beckham dress and sunglasses on outings in the past. And in 2022, David joined both William and Kate when they travelled to Boston for the Prince of Waleses’ second annual Earthshot Prize awards, where he presented one of the prizes at one of William’s main projects.

David was also recently named a King’s Foundation ambassador by King Charles. In photographs released to mark the announcement, the sportstar was pictured with the King on the doorstep of Highgrove, Charles’ Gloucestershire retreat, and shown trying out his carpentry skills with foundation students taking part in woodworking courses at the Snowdon School of Furniture.

The pair also swapped beekeeping tips as both have hives, with David saying: “Having developed a love for the countryside I’m also on a personal mission to learn more about rural skills which is so central to the foundation’s work. It was inspiring to hear from the King about the work of His Majesty’s foundation during my recent visit to Highgrove Gardens – and compare beekeeping tips!”

Earlier this week, the two men caught up again at the inaugural King’s Foundation awards at Buckingham Palace – and were on very friendly terms as they chatted about football and discussed England’s chances in the Euro 2024 championships.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell scandal – fundraising nightmare to cheque lost in post

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have found themselves at the centre of a scandal as their charity Archewell has been branded ‘delinquent’ and ordered to stop fundraising

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced a fresh blow as their Archewell charity has been ordered to suspend all fundraising and spending.

The charity, which the couple founded after stepping down from the Royal Family, has been branded “delinquent and not in good standing”. A scathing letter from California’s attorney general Rob Bonta said Archewell has allowed its registration fees to lapse since the beginning of May.

However, a source has claimed the issue is due to a misunderstanding and Harry and Meghan have remained defiant as they issued a heartfelt statement. Here’ we’ve taken an in-depth look at the charity scandal.

Rob Bonta’s letter has stated Archewell is now considered “not in good standing” and is restricted from undertaking activities requiring registration, such as soliciting or distributing charitable funds. It said: “An organisation that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds.

“The organisation may also be subject to penalties, and its registration may be suspended or revoked.” Archewell now has to submit records to show why the payment was late and pay late fees. The foundation has filed for an extension, according to reports.

Archewell categorised as “delinquent” in the registry of charities and fundraisers due to its failure to submit its annual report and registration fees. When a charitable organisation fails to submit complete filings for each fiscal year, its status is changed to ‘Delinquent’.

If the delinquency is not remedied, the Registry status will be further changed to suspended, and/or revoked. The registry of charities and fundraisers does provide guidance for charities who have been listed as delinquent.

A source close to Meghan and Harry has insisted all of the documents relating to Archewell were filed on time. They’ve said part of the filing included a physical cheque.

The insider told the Mirror : “For whatever reason, it has not been cashed. As soon as the foundation learnt of the problem, they immediately issued another cheque. Harry and Meghan’s team hope this will quickly resolve the issue within the next week.”

Meghan and Harry are trying to ignore the Archewell drama and instead focus on their trip to Nigeria. Taking to their website, the couple issues a statement and described their visit to the African country as “unforgettable”.

The message spoke about the couple’s final event in Nigeria as they attended a cultural reception in Lagos and a polo match fundraiser. The statement said: “The day was capped off with the couple presenting medals, a gesture of appreciation for the players’ prolific talent and dedication.”

The message concluded: “The Duke and Duchess would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the event organisers, military officials and the whole Nigerian community for their tremendous hospitality and the first of many memorable trips.”

  • King Charles feels lack of closeness with Archie and Lilibet ‘acutely’

King Charles feels lack of closeness with Archie and Lilibet ‘acutely’

King Charles III feels his lack of closeness with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet “acutely”, it has been reported.

The monarch is understood to have told friends that he is keener than ever to have a relationship with his two youngest grandchildren, who now live in America with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Hoping to be more present in their lives, the King is said to be dissatisfied with just seeing Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, via the occasional video call.

Queen Camilla is also reportedly encouraging her husband to increase his efforts in building a relationship with Archie and Lilibet.

Speaking to MailOnline, royal commentator Michael Cole said that the monarch feels a “lack of closeness with his California grandchildren acutely”. This is said to be especially present for the monarch given that his own childhood was affected by his parents’ long distances on tours of the Commonwealth.

The former BBC royal correspondent said that the King is looking “as happy and as content as I have ever seen him”, but that his only regrets are his lack of contact with Archie and Lilibet.

Discussing Archie and Lilibet, Mr Cole said: “In the middle of this unedifying falling-out in the world’s most famous family are two innocent young children who are growing up without any real contact with their royal cousins in Britain, not to mention their grandfather, the head of the family, the King, as he undergoes treatment for an unspecified cancer and would welcome the pleasure and comfort of seeing his grandchildren.”

Speaking to the publication, the expert added: “With every day precious, the King would like to see as much as possible of all his grandchildren, making use of every opportunity for them to get to know him – equally as important in family terms as for him to enjoy their company. This is very much the case for the King with the Waleses’ trio of charming children.”

Mr Cole added: “His only regret is that he does not see Archie and Lilibet.

“If there was anything calculated to comfort and delight him, it would be for them to be with him on a regular basis. Unless Harry and Meghan can find in their hearts the love that they say they have for the world and then people in it, apart from her father and most of her family, that looks unlikely.”

According to the Mirror, a source recently said: “The King is absolutely committed to being present in all of his grandchildren’s lives.

“He values family above everything and whatever the course of his relationship with his son he would never be content with just seeing his grandchildren on the odd video call.”

As reported by MailOnline, the King is said to have sent a “heartfelt gift and card” to Princess Lilibet on her third birthday last week.

Loose Women star issues ten-word verdict over Meghan Markle quitting the UK

Prince Harry recently returned to the UK as he flew to London and attended a celebration for the Invictus Games but his wife Meghan Markle decided to stay home. The Duchess of Sussex instead joined the royal on a memorable tour of Nigeria.

Loose Women star Jane Moore addressed the Sussexes trip to Nigeria last month as she offered her verdict on the Duchess not returning to the UK.

The columnist admitted Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tour brought back vivid memories of when she accompanied King Charles and the late Princess Diana on a royal press trip to the same country in March 1990.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited the West African nation after being invited by its military for the three-day trip. It marked 10 years of the Invictus Games, which Nigeria joined for the first time last year.

Prince Harry heard about the work of a charity which organises basketball camps for children in Africa, and played a game with students. In addition, the Sussexes visited a secondary school and the couple were welcomed to the State Governor House in Nigeria’s most populous city, among taking part in an array of other activities.

Writing in her recent column for The Sun, Jane admitted Meghan’s “charm” was reminiscent of Princess Diana.

She wrote: “Watching Meghan charm the crowds in Nigeria brought back memories of the time when, as part of the royal press pack, I accompanied Charles and Diana there in March 1990.

“One shows her lighting up the room at a women’s festival in Lagos with her easy-going manner and ability to make everyone she spoke to feel special.”

Addressing the Princess of Wales she went on: “She was a force of nature and, although Charles was the heir apparent, he was very much in her shadow.

“It’s the same story with Harry and Meghan who, however much her recollections now vary, was welcomed by the British public with open arms.”

Jane delivered a ten-word verdict since Meghan chose to leave the UK, adding: “It remains a great shame that she didn’t stick around.”

Harry and Meghan decided to step back from their royal duties in 2020 and officially stepped down the following year, with the couple relocating to Montecito, California.

They have made very few return trips to the UK since their move, with Meghan last seen in Britain at the late Queen’s funeral in 2022.

It has since been reported they are considering splitting their time between the US and the UK in what could be the start of a royal reconciliation.

Earlier this week, it was suggested that the Duke of Sussex started looking into finding a home in Britain that he and his wife could keep for visiting instead of having to check into hotels each time.

Meanwhile, King Charles will be attending the Trooping the Colour on Saturday (June 15).

Prince Harry and Meghan last attended Trooping the Colour in 2019 – before they quit royal life and moved to the United States. A commentator says there is an “open invitation” for Harry to attend royal events such as Trooping the Colour.

Denise Welch hits out over Ofcom complaints as she further defends Meghan Markle

Loose Women was the subject of complaints last week over an episode that included a debate about the Royal Family and panelist Denise Welch has since addressed the backlash

Denise Welch has addressed complaints to Ofcom after a debate about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently, with her having been a vocal supporter of the couple.

It was announced just days ago that regulatory body Ofcom had received more than a hundred complaints from Loose Women viewers over a recent episode of the ITV show. It had included a discussion about the Royal Family.

During the episode on Monday last week, panellist Denise, 65, defended Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42. She clashed with guest Dickie Arbiter, 83, who was formerly a press secretary to the late Queen and her son King Charles III.

Denise has since further defended Meghan – who married into the Royal Family in 2018 – in a post on Instagram. She took to the platform following the episode and addressed the complaints, suggesting that they are “utterly pathetic”.

Denise’s post included a photo of Meghan that’s believed to have been taken on her trip to Nigeria. The latter visited the country with her husband Prince Harry recently. Denise wrote about the former actor in the accompanying caption.

Th presenter wrote: “[Meghan] has been a spokeswoman for women of colour and gender equality since she was 11 yrs old. She has held a place on the world stage for years before she met Harry as a UN women’s advocate.”

She continued in the caption: “I am appalled that this woman is abused and berated by the public and media on a daily basis. Not many people could mentally cope with the hate she contends with. No wonder her husband took her away and despite everything they are thriving. Their reception in Nigeria has been wonderful to see.”

Denise concluded the post by telling her followers on the social media platform recently: “Last week I defended them against one of their detractors on tv and received 103 complaints from Ofcom!!! Good. Also utterly pathetic.”

The discussion on Loose Women attracted attention last week. As reported at the time, Dickie said at one point: “[Prince] Harry has been rubbishing the family since he walked out in 2020.” He went on to mention the memoir Spare, released last year, and various TV interviews.

Denise questioned: “Do you not think there is a reason why [he] did such a thing?” She then mentioned experiences in Prince Harry’s life, including the highly-publicised death of his late mother Princess Diana when he was a child and his stepmother Queen Camilla ‘s introduction to his family.

She later told Dickie: “Then he has a wife who is continually trashed by the media, including your good self, if I may say – when she is on a world stage, doing a lot of good for a lot of people.” Denise added during the discussion last week: “I am just sick to death of the bashing that this woman gets.”

Dickie, as previously reported, said that he was “not going to argue” with her and suggested that she had read “too many tabloid stories”. Denise said that she’s “read a lot” about Meghan and thinks “it’ a disgrace, the way she’s treated.”

Saira Khan has opened up about her time on Loose Women and the real reason she decided to quit the ITV chat show after five years on the panel back in 2020

Saira Khan, the former Loose Women panellist, has opened up about her time on the show, why she decided to leave, and the friendships she maintains post-exit in a candid chat. In an exclusive with Woman’s Own magazine, the one-time Apprentice star who shot to fame as the runner-up in the inaugural 2005 series reflected on her stint from 2015 to 2020 on the panel of the hit daytime TV show.

She explained her departure from Loose Women, saying: “It was more about me growing up and saying, ‘Look, this is what I like, and this is what I don’t like,’ and some of the things that go on, I was just not comfortable with it, and I think you have to be honest with it.”

“It doesn’t mean you’re falling out, it just means it’s not enough for me.”

Khan also dished on her current ties with her ex-co-stars. “I recently went out with Ruth [Langsford] to go and see Coleen [Nolan] on her solo tour in Blackpool,” she revealed.

“I keep in touch with Andrea [McLean] and Denise [Welch]. I know people think I fell out with them all, but it wasn’t about the girls, it was more about me to be honest with you.”, reports OK!.

Post-Loose Women, Saira took on the gruelling SAS: Who Dares Wins, joining celebs like Kerry Katona, James Cracknell, Alexandra Burke, and Wes Nelson. She’s also been seen on the Jeremy Vine on 5 morning show, which she admits to preferring over her Loose Women gig.

“I wouldn’t go back to Loose Women I’ve done that and I think I’ve come out of it realising I want to move forward, and I want to do things that I really enjoy,” she shared. “Also, Jeremy Vine gives me space to talk about politics as well as just talking about my private life and who I am. I think people can get a bit bored of that, and the same subjects.”

“I also like the diversity of it, and that it’s not just all females there’s men and women, and I quite like that. It’s a bit more real life, and you can have a bit more laughter.”

When she joined Jeremy’s show earlier this year, she told The Mirror : “After taking a few years off the telly, it was nice to be back and I didn’t realise how much I missed it. It was Jeremy [Vine] who persuaded me to come back.”

She added: “I think it’s good to have a break and I feel more confident now about who I am and what I want to say.”

BBC EastEnders fans fear the worst for fan favourite as downward spiral continues

Linda Carter’s alcohol addiction is taking a toll on the fan favourite, prompting EastEnders viewers to beg those closest to her to take action before it’s too late.

EastEnders fans are growing increasingly concerned for Linda Carter, particularly as some of her nearest and dearest appear too distracted to even help her.

Kellie Bright was back on BBC One this Monday (June 10, 2024) as her on-screen alter ego continued her downward spiral. While she has been put through the wringer in recent months, the pub landlady was in for a nasty shock when Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) asked her if her brother Keanu’s wake could be held in The Vic – the same boozer in which Linda stabbed him to death.

Throughout the instalment, Linda dropped clues that her struggle was ongoing as she notably opened up about dreaming of her husband Mick.

However, viewers of the London-based program were devastated when she was found by her son Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) lying on the floor in the cellar, in a drunken haze.

But while Johnny rushed to his mother’s side, along with her pal Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), fans were shocked to see that her own mother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) seemed to be neglecting her despair amid her own heartbreak after former fiancé George Knight kissed Cindy Beale behind her back.

Many soap viewers swarmed over to X, otherwise known as Twitter, as they called out Elaine for not taking action to help Linda, despite her clearly needing help.

“Why is everyone seeming to ignore Linda’s struggle and alcoholism? it’s starting to fuck me off now, everything’s about Cindy this, George that, elaine that, TAKE CARE OF YOUR F****** DAUGHTER E-LAINE”, one furiously penned. Another echoed: “Haven’t even started the ep yet and seen the description says “Johnny and Elaine support Linda” yeah and I’m the queen of England be so fr.”

A third soap watcher wrote: “Linda has been drinking for over 6 months now and the only person remotely interested in getting her help is Johnny. It’s all well and good Elaine looking out for Linda – but it’s only when she sees fit. I hope Linda doesn’t become physically ill.”

“Johnny and Elaine saying they are here for Linda but in reality she’s completely alone and struggling, it’s heartbreaking”, another viewer lamented. One then regretted that Linda wasn’t supported any earlier as they pointed out: “Seriously how much more is it going to take for the family to take Linda’s drinking seriously? Help and support should’ve started back in October last year when she started drinking heavily again, she’s going to fall seriously ill the way she’s going!”

A concerned fan echoed: “You’re telling me that no one overheard Linda here?! She needs help with her drinking and fast. So worried for her”, while another demanded: “protect Linda at all costs.”

Soap viewers were also moved to hear, as mentioned, that Linda was still dreaming of Mick, less than two years since his disappearance at sea and this prompted another watcher to theorise: “Linda is having dreams of mick. I’m convinced one day he will return.”

Mick vanished at sea while trying to save both Linda and Janine Butcher from drowning in December, 2022. While his body has yet to be found, his wallet had washed up on the shore and it was enough for the authorities to declare he had died but viewers never lost hope to see actor Danny Dyer reprise his role.

But with no mention of a potential return to the long-running program, despite Danny and bosses leaving the door open for Mick, Linda has to face the possibility of being caught up for her crimes – which include framing her rapist Dean Wicks for the murder of Keanu Taylor.
