A whole load of drama from the 2000s has resurfaced after the brand-new Netflix doc, Beckham, dropped on the streaming platform this week.

In the docu-series, David and Victoria broken their silence on his alleged ‘affair’ with former glamour model Rebecca, saying the media attention at the time was the ‘hardest period’ for both of them.

The world was catapulted into a massive media frenzy when former glamour model, Rebecca Loos, claimed she had an affair with David back in 2003 and it seems it wasn’t just the press that shared their two cents on the matter.

Sharon Osbourne took it upon herself to deliver some pretty savage advice to Rebecca after the alleged ‘affair’ and she did not hold back one bit. Have a look:

Flash-forward some three years after Rebecca’s initial bombshell allegation when she appeared on The X Factor: Battle of the Stars in 2006.

Sharon, who was a judge on the ITV show at the time, watched as Rebecca sang her version of Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted to Love’ smash-hit alongside James Hewitt.

Hewitt himself was in the centre of his own media storm after it came to public attention in the mid-90s that he had an affair with Diana, Princess of Wales, while she was still married to then-Prince Charles.

That era truly was something else.

After the duo finished up their performance, Sharon told them: “Good song choice for you two. Very appropriate song for you both to sing.”

Her comments didn’t stop there – far from it.

“It’s amazing,” the judge continued, “because you both have so much in common and it shows on stage. You do.”

Then, offering individual comments to Rebecca, Sharon advised some pretty savage advice: “Mrs, you know what, if you get through tonight you should try doing tomorrow’s performance with your knickers on. Because it will help warm up your voice a bit more.”

Rebecca then responded: “Sharon, I didn’t expect to get a very nice comment from you because you’ve completely shunned me throughout this whole show, but that’s OK.”

Sharon then replied, declaring: “You’ve got a very bad vibe that comes from you.”

She also told James, who was once in the army, he ‘should be shot’ for his performance.

Louis Walsh then piped up, telling his fellow judge: “It wasn’t that bad Sharon, she carried the whole performance.”

As if things couldn’t get even more tense, Sharon then wrapped up her feedback praising one of Rebecca’s physical attributes.

“You’ve got very nice boobs though,” she concluded: “You’ve got a very good boob job.”

During the Netflix doc, Victoria, 49, appears to allude to her husband’s alleged ‘affair’ – saying there was one time that saw her at her ‘most unhappy’.

The couple have previously denied that David, 48, had an affair when he was playing for Real Madrid in 2003 after the rumour mill went haywire after Rebecca, who was 26 at the time, was pictured with then 28-year-old footy star inside a nightclub.

While they didn’t speak about the alleged extra-marital relationship in the new docu-series, they did address the media fallout at the time.

“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us,” she said. “Here’s the thing – we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.”

Posh Spice added: “I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me.

“It was a nightmare.”

Now, some two decades after the media frenzy – many of us will be wondering just where on earth 46-year-old Rebecca, who once worked as David’s PA, is and what she’s up to.

Well, for starters, she’s relocated to Norway and has seemingly swapped out a life in the headlines for a more nomadic lifestyle teaching yoga at a retreat with her new husband, Norwegian doctor Sven Christjar Skaiaa.

The pair welcomed their first child just five years on from the ‘affair’ scandal in 2008 and married by 2012.

They then had a second child together and relocated to mountain village, Hemsedal, to start a brand-new life.

It seems miles away from the life of stardom, reality TV shows, Playboy shoots and one particularly controversial appearance in Channel 5’s The Farm back in 2004.

However, Rebecca does still document her life to her 20.8k followers on Instagram where she can be seen enjoying walks out in nature, practicing some yoga poses and walking her dogs.

Earlier this month, a brand-new documentary dropped on Netflix all about one of the most iconic families in Britain – the Beckhams.

The eight-part Netflix docu-series Beckham was released a few weeks back (4 October) and sees David and Victoria open up about a whole bunch of difficulties they’ve faced in their relationship – including the alleged ‘affair’ with former glamour model Rebecca Loos.

Since then, Rebecca has finally broken her silence over the ‘affair’ claims and recalled how she once allegedly found the footy star in a bedroom with a model.

The new doc resurfaced the absolute media frenzy that rocked the world back in 2003 when Rebecca and David were pictured inside a nightclub together.

In the series, Posh and Becks said that the media attention at the time was the ‘hardest period’ for both of them.

“I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me,” the mum-of-four says in the docuseries.

“It was a nightmare.

“It was an absolute circus – and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town right? Unless you’re in it.”

While Rebecca doesn’t appear in the documentary, she has now come forward to open up a little more about the situation.

Nearly two decades later, the 46-year-old recalled an evening at football legend Ronaldo Nazário’s residence on 22 September 2003.

“There was wonderful food, a samba band from Brazil, and flowing champagne,” she fondly remembered during an interview with the Daily Mail Sunday.

During the party, Rebecca claimed to have caught David ‘hiding at the bottom of the garden’ chatting to a Spanish model.

“That hurt,” recalled Rebecca, David’s former personal assistant.

She says her mobile then rang and it was Victoria asking over her husband.

“She’s upset because she’s calling David and he’s not answering,” Rebecca went on. “I said I didn’t know where he was… And she says, ‘Don’t hang up, go and find him.’

“I was like ‘Okay…’ ‘So it’s a bit awkward. I went into the house and up the stairs and I saw David’s two bodyguards outside a door.”

She went on to describe how she allegedly whispered ‘It’s Victoria!’ while miming holding a phone.

“He [one of the bodyguards] disappears,” Rebecca continued. “When he comes back David is with him. I can see the model in the background lying on the bed. I can see it’s a bedroom.

“I was fuming and I just looked at him, gave him the phone and said, ‘Your wife’.”

David then allegedly spoke quietly to his wife before giving Rebecca her phone back.

“I was so hurt,” she revealed. “It was just this awful feeling and I thought to myself, ‘You stupid fool’.

“But he had me, he had his claws into me, and I was at his beck and call.”

Rebecca reportedly found him in a bedroom with the model at 3am and told him that she ‘had his wife on the phone’. He got up to answer the call and she claimed she saw the model in the bed, which made her feel ‘very hurt’. Rebecca told her friend at the time: “I thought I was the only one.”

In the days that followed Rebecca’s story dominating headlines around the world, Beckham’s PR team were quick to whip up an image of unity at the snowy Courchevel ski resort to safeguard Brand Beckham’s image. “In a bravura performance, the couple clung to each other with an iron grip on his hand. Then they performed a piggy-back and smiled,” notes Bower in his book.

However, their closed-door affairs weren’t as picture-perfect. “Once the show was over they disappeared into their chalet….as everyone drifted off, one journalist looked through the Beckhams’ chalet window. Posh was slapping Beckham hard on his face. Beckham, famous for his ‘short fuse’, did not retaliate.”

Victoria’s transition to Spain was difficult, making her life there unenjoyable. “Her life in Madrid was lonely and unhappy. Although she had everything money could buy she was isolated. With few friends, she was unwilling to learn Spanish. Her diet, rigorous exercise and chain-smoking reflected her anxieties.”

In recent years, Rebecca has stepped back from the limelight and rarely makes media appearances. She is now a married mother-of-two, Rebecca lives in Norway where she works as a yoga teacher and massage therapist. Opening up in the Netflix docuseries Beckham, David and Victoria explained how damaging the allegations were for their relationship.

She admitted that this was ‘one hundred percent’ the lowest point in their marriage, Victoria shared in the documentary: “It was the hardest period for us. Because it felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing; we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest.

‘She was never an A-lister, so she needs to stop acting like one,’ Colin Campbell told the publication.

‘Royalty does not behave like celebrities do. It’s cheap, vulgar and irresponsible.’

Colin Campbell, who is set to appear on the next season of Celebs Go Dating, said Markle was ‘letting down’ those around the world who admire her by ‘cheapening’ herself in celebrity circles.

Meghan Markle has been dissed by Colin Campbell previously, who believes Princess Diana would not have bonded with the Duchess of Sussex.

‘I think Meghan and Diana are sufficiently similar personalities for there to have been the potential for conflict,’ she said.

‘They have very similar personalities, which would make me believe trouble may well have brewed down the line.’

Markle has been on the receiving end of her fair share of criticism in the press in recent months, having increased the level of privacy around her and her son Archie.

Meghan kept news of Archie’s christening close to her chest in the lead up to the occasion, leaving many royal-onlookers frustrated with her.

She also opted to keep his godparents a secret – another move that proved unpopular with fans.

 

Meghan was due to appear on the cover of British Vogue, however, instead opted to guest-edit the edition.

The Duchess revealed that she was at home with her dogs when she received the response from Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Edward Enninful, saying that she could be guest editor.

The September issue of British Vogue focuses on ‘Focuses for Change’, and features 15 ‘trailblazer’ and ‘changemakers‘ that inspire Meghan.

He compared her treatment of being photographed as similar to that of Princess Diana.

Chatting back in February 2019, he made the admission in an interview with an Australian magazine.

He told Who magazine: “I do want to say, they’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere.

“She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was.

Tom Bower’s new bombshell book, The House of Beckham

Loos, who was let go by Beckham’s agency SFX, later sold her story to the New of the World, alleging an affair with the footballer. The Beckham’s’ PR advisors, the book claims, quickly orchestrated a stage-managed show of togetherness for the couple on holiday in the Alpine ski resort of Courchevel to try and offset the damage to Brand Beckham.

With David denying having an affair at the time, the couple put Brand Beckham first and carried on making mega money and bringing up their four children. The world had almost forgotten the scandal – until the famous family let Netflix cameras into their home for a must-watch documentary about David’s life on and off the pitch.

Fans were shocked to see the former Man Utd star address the alleged infidelity for the first time publicly, but even more so to hear from the artist known as Posh Spice break her silence on the scandal. Speaking out about the claims for the first time in almost two decades, admitting her marriage almost came to an end, she told Netflix viewers: “We were against each other.”

In an intense moment in the series, when director Fisher Stevens inquired how they coped with the media frenzy, David shared: “There were some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with. It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

Victoria admitted in her solo interview that she and husband David have faced the ‘hardest times’ during their stint in Spain when he played for Real Madrid. She confessed: “100 percent. It was the hardest period for us. Because it felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing; we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest. You know, up until Madrid, sometimes it felt like us against everybody else. But we were together. We were connected. We had each other.”

Prince Harry has had a “very upsetting shock” after his strongly worded defence of wife Meghan Markle was quietly deleted by the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex issued the statement against the press in November 2016 as he raged at the media for “racial undertones” in regards to his then girlfriend Meghan. But in a surprising move Harry’s staunch defence has been removed from royal.co.uk after seven years.

Now, royal author Tom Quinn, claims the removal was a “very upsetting shock” for Harry.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: “The statement was a scathing attack on the press and King Charles knows that he needs to keep the press on the side and work with rather than against the media.

“For Harry removing the statement will be a real and very upsetting shock – he will see this as the Royal Family shutting him down, erasing an important part of the anti-media crusade Harry has waged for so long.”

Tom says Harry would have wanted the statement to remain on the Royal website “as a permanent reminder that Meghan and Harry are victims not aggressors.”

Harry’s statement was released by former Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf days after Harry’s relationship with Meghan was made public.

It came following an article in The Mail on Sunday which read: “Harry’s girl is (almost) straight outta Compton: Gang-scarred home of her mother revealed—so will he be dropping by for tea?”

The statement read: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.

“Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.

“Some of it has been hidden from the public – the nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Prince Harry “can’t believe” he’s not in the VIP category that would afford him automatic state security as his legal row with the UK government rolls on, an expert claims.

News broke this week that the Prince has been given the green light to appeal a case he lost in the High Court against the Home Office, which downgraded his protection detail after he stepped back as a senior royal in 2020.

King Charles appears to be fuming over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s supposed royal takeover.

 

After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Nigeria earlier last month in a ‘royal-like’ tour for a future Invictus Games, the monarch is said to be “angrier than anyone has ever seen him,” according to royal author Tom Quinn. However, what really infuriated that King was that Harry and Meghan were actually treated like royalty at the visit, Quinn explained to The Mirror.

“What’s really upset the applecart is the fact that the Nigerians treated Meghan and Harry as if they too thought this was an official tour – all the signs were there as the couple were greeted with dances, receptions, visits to schools and charities,” he told the outlet. Quinn also added that Prince William is furious with the tour as it “confirmed the worst fears” to him and his father.

“It’s as if Harry and Meghan have gone rogue – their Nigeria trip is a bold statement that they refuse to accept they are no longer working royals,” Quinn continued. He also alluded that the royals appear to be struggling to damage control. “William and Charles are scratching their heads and thinking, ‘How are we going to control this nightmare situation?’” he surmised.

Prince William’s body language has undergone a noticeable shift, according to an expert, as he and the Royal Family navigate the ongoing tensions surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. During a recent royal engagement in Manchester, the Prince of Wales appeared relaxed and “comfortable,” despite the explosive allegations made in Omid Scobie’s new book, “Endgame,” which was serialized last week. This change in demeanor suggests a determination to maintain composure and focus on his duties, even amidst the highly publicized family drama.

William’s visit to the project addressing youth violence occurred amidst reports that royal courtiers were angered by the claims made about William in the new royal book. According to Scobie, who is considered the unofficial biographer of the Sussexes, the future King allegedly ignored Harry’s calls as the duke frantically attempted to reach the late Queen’s bedside before her passing.

The Express reports that he also claims William is convinced his younger brother has been influenced by an “army of therapists” in the US. According to body language analyst Judi James, speaking to the Mirror, if Prince William’s body language signals contain any responses to the latest attempts to criticize the royals through barbed quotes in Scobie’s book, it’s more like a hint of mild exasperation rather than appearing genuinely rattled.

The ongoing situation with the Firm seems to be taking a toll, with repeated attempts falling short of their intended targets. However, the cumulative impact of these persistent efforts is likely causing fatigue and exhaustion.

Despite this challenging scenario, or perhaps driven by it, William appears even more resolute than ever to dedicate himself wholeheartedly to his causes and to forge deep connections with the individuals he encounters along the way.

The Hollywood A-list actor, George Clooney, had no choice but to turn down a kind offer from Prince Harry during the Duke’s visit to the Clooneys’ Italian villa in Lake Como.

In the 2020 book, Finding Freedom, famously co-written by Omid Scobie, Prince Harry wanted to take a private ride on one of George’s motorbikes but the Oscar-winning star was recovering from a motorbike accident in Sardinia which had left the star hospitalised.

The book states “Harry took one of them out with one of his protection officers”, but because of George’s recent accident, he wasn’t back to enjoying his motorcycle rides and had to recover.

‘Finding Freedom’ claims Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were just newlyweds when they flew out via private jet, arranged by George to Milan, and then were driven to his villa in Lake Como – only a few months after their royal wedding.

The book states: “George recently had an accident, so he wasn’t back on his bike yet.”

It is reported that Mr Clooney sustained non-life-threatening injuries while he was filming the TV series, Catch-22.

Not the only royals to have been invited to the Italian villa, Princess Eugenie and her then fiancé, Jack Brooksbank were also at the villa on holiday. At the exclusive retreat, they spent time looking after the Clooneys’ twins, Alexander and Ella and enjoyed playing basketball together.

Despite the Clooneys being located in a prized position during the wedding, it was claimed that they were less close to Meghan and Harry than previously thought.

Journalist Rachel Johnson recounted a “story doing the rounds” at the nuptials, which cast doubt over their closeness. She claimed the disclosure originated from Carolyn Bartholomew, one of three women to have shared a flat with Princess Diana in Earls Court, London.

Ms Johnson explained that Ms Bartholomew was “waiting for the wedding service to start” when she decided to spark conversation with those around her.

The writer continued: “She turned to the couple alongside her and asked how they knew Harry or Meghan. ‘We don’t’, the Clooneys answered brightly.”

In addition to their privileged position at the wedding, the celebrity couple were also among 200 guests invited to Meghan and Harry’s wedding reception.
