“William hated the press more than Harry did at one point,” author Omid Scobie told E! News in an exclusive interview discussing his new book Endgame, which unpacks the brothers’ ongoing estrangement and a variety of other issues threatening the future of the monarchy. “So for things to be at this point is not only sad, but it speaks to William as a leader, as an heir to the throne.”

 

And not in a particularly good way.

E! News reached out to Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace and Harry’s reps for comment on Scobie’s reporting in the book but did not hear back.

William and Kate Middleton ignored reporters’ Endgame-related questions on the red carpet at the Royal Variety Performance on Nov. 30. And while in Dubai to attend COP28, when asked how he was doing, King Charles III reportedly answered, “I’m all right very much, just about,” quipping that he was “recovering from the shock” of turning 75.

In Spare and multiple interviews, Harry maintained that he basically wrote the book not to expose the inner workings of the royal family, but to explain to his own father and brother—who consistently rebuffed his attempts to have those talks—what he’d been dealing with personally for years before he and Meghan moved away in 2020.

“He wanted accountability from his family,” Scobie said. “The ball has been in William’s court for 11 months now. And how ridiculous, because this isn’t just the brother of a random man. This is the future king, the future head of the Church of England, who almost a year later is still unable to at least sit down and have a conversation with his own blood.”

But taken in context, that response—or lack thereof—from William isn’t so surprising. (There was no official comment from any member of the royal family in response to Harry’s recollections in Spare, though plenty of reporting ensued that they weren’t happy about it.)

There’s a “duality” to William’s character, Scobie said. “This is a man who, as I said, once hated the press more than his brother and was always—and still is—extremely professional on engagements, enjoyable to be around. He would be the one that would acknowledge you [as a member of the press] and make you feel like a person rather than just an irritant at these events.”

William “also loved his normal life as an air ambulance pilot,” the longtime royal correspondent added, “which he held onto for so long, much to the annoyance of the institution.”

Then the Duke of Cambridge, William announced he was leaving the East Anglian Air Ambulance in 2017 after two years. Kensington Palace said at the time that the heir was making the move because he and Kate were “keen to increase their official work on behalf of the Queen and for the charities and causes they support.”

The aristocrat alleged Prince Harry had employed JR Moehringer because he is a skilled words-worth who is able to embellish his recollections.

 

She claimed: “He also has a very efficient, aggressive, one could almost say imaginative ghostwriter.

 

“You know a good writer makes the story better than it really is. He has hired a good writer, he’s going to make the story better than it really is.”

Markus Dohle, of Penguin Random House, described the Duke as being among “world-renowned leaders, icons, and change-makers we have been privileged to publish over the years”.

A press release described the book as “intimate and heartfelt” and “honest and moving”.

It added: “Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, one that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous, and uplifting human story.”

 

 

The Sussexes have established an organisation called Archewell, which has production arms alongside a non-profit foundation.

In May, it was announced that the Duchess of Sussex would publish a children’s book, The Bench, about father-son relationships, as seen through the eyes of mothers with the same publisher.

It calls him “pathetic.” It also calls him lots more. And don’t anyone get their knickers in a twist because Pegasus releases this 400-page scorcher in the US next month. The cover is them together.

Chapter 1: Campbell claims MM immediately “jettisoned British traditions that didn’t suit her” … she showed such rock-solid self-importance that Prince Philip nicknamed her Tungsten … although a divorcee, she defied palace dictum of cream color for anyone previously married and insisted on a virginal white wedding gown.

Andrew’s kid Princess Eugenie was to be a bride wearing — per Queen Elizabeth’s promise — an emerald and diamond tiara. The book alleges Me-Me-Meghan demanded exactly that tiara, demanded her own ceremony precede Eugenie’s, demanded Eugenie’s nuptials be postponed, even demanded Her Majesty break the promise that Eugenie might wear that headpiece. Eugenie did later wear an emerald tiara at her wedding.

The book has encyclopedic chapters on baby Prince Archie. Also examples that Miss Me-Me knew what she wanted long before grabbing the role of Mrs. Harry.

I know author Campbell. Georgie, friends call her, is no shrunken violet. She knows from courts and lawsuits. However, she’s acquainted with every royal going back to Catherine the Great. She also knows from best sellers like her Princess Diana bios. And she said: “I go into everything surrounding her pregnancy and all’s been minutely vetted by lawyers. I have spoken to courtiers, Romeos, princes, princesses, relations, friends in detail. Knowing she intended to marry him from word Go, they were desperate to talk. Still, I bent over backwards to be positive.”

Campbell claims: “She’s a total opportunist. She knew in advance she’d embark on commercial ventures, which royalty strictly forbids. She now has what she wanted — a millionaire’s life in Hollywood. She’s caused Harry to lose most of his friends. He’s weaker than she. He’s run ragged. Despite the sex, she will make his life miserable. He has no strength of character to leave her.”

Club-wise, he’s an amazing player. He is the best centre-forward in the world. He can do absolutely everything. He’s got a big opportunity this summer to win a trophy with England. We have got the best squad in the tournament and I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t go all the way and win it.”

Quizzed on whether the lack of major honours will be annoying Kane, Redknapp added: “No, it won’t. He won’t be thinking about it. Look at how many goals he has scored again at Munich this year – a crazy amount. He has done his job. There are players that win trophies that are bang average but happen to be in a good team. He’s a fantastic player. He will go down in history at Tottenham as the leading goalscorer of all-time. Nobody will probably beat that. He’s a special player. I don’t think it will be bothering him. I do think he’ll win trophies before he retires.”

Kane severed ties with Spurs as they were unable to deliver on his ambition, and Redknapp said when asked if the club’s all-time leading goalscorer could retrace steps to north London at some stage: “I doubt it. I doubt he will want to go back. It’s always a difficult one, going back. Bayern Munich have had a bad year, but it’s a massive club. Vincent Kompany going in there, I’m sure he can’t wait to work with Harry Kane. He can build a team around him next year. I would be surprised if he came back to Tottenham.”

He added when pressed on a possible return to the Premier League: “Eventually, yeah, I could see him. It depends how long he stays at Munich. I don’t think he’d want to come back at the end of his career if he’s starting to be on the wane a bit. While he is doing well, I can see him staying in Germany for the foreseeable future. Growing up with his father, Ted, mother, Sandra, and two sisters, David had a middle-class upbringing. David went on to train at the Bobby Charlton School, and playing for Manchester United was always his goal. His father, Ted was always a die-hard Manchester United fan and shaped David to be the same way, and aspired for him to play in Old Trafford someday.

David said the following about his parents in the Save Our Squad documentary on Disney+.

“My dad was my inspiration, I wanted to win for him.

“I wanted to play well for him and my mum as well, of course. My mum was the one that was driving me to training, to games, when my dad was working. I, as a parent now, realise how much my parents gave up for me.”

The trouble in paradise

The Netflix docuseries revealed Ted as someone who kept pushing David harder, no matter how much he achieved. But, this was shown in a good light. Despite all the pressure from his father, David was in awe of the way he was raised, with discipline and focus on his craft. But, it is said that his relationship with his dad went for a toss in 2002, when David and his sisters felt that Ted was responsible for the marriage between his parents breaking down.

He said the following in his documentary titled Beckham: My World.

“He loves my mum but he’s never been affectionate to her in front of my two sisters and me. He’s quite hard-faced and can be sarcastic.”

“He also gets fired up easily… The quality I like least in myself is my short temper. I think I get it from my dad.”

The untimely departure from United

Not only did the separation affect the father-son dynamics, but David’s departure from Manchester United did its damage as well. David’s departure from Manchester United was sudden.

And Ted allegedly heard about David’s move from United to Real Madrid through David’s agent, and that just didn’t sit well with him. In fact, Ted’s book even mentioned that David’s fame was one of the reasons he and his wife split up. As per The Express, he said:

“All the hype, all the stress, all the attention – it wasn’t a world we were used to, and it was very tough. By the end, all we had in common was football. We just drifted apart.”

Despite all this happening in the past, the Beckhams have fixed their relationship and seem closer than ever now. They seem to be on great terms, so much so that David was even the best man at his father’s wedding to Hilary Meredith.

He was then pictured with social media influencer Issey Moloney during an outing in London in February.

In March, Cruz was then seen with Norweigan singer Bby Ivy for a family night out in Paris after his mother Victoria’s Paris Fashion Week show.

Jackie bears a strong resemblance to Bby, who’s song Losing Sleep was previously featured on Love Island.

Cruz was first seen with Tana in May 2022, but a source revealed they ended their relationship over the summer last year.

Cruz was noticeably solo as he joined the entire Beckham clan for the premiere of David’s Netflix series.
