PRINCE HARRY is “not capable” of writing a book, claims Lady Colin Campbell, after news broke that the Duke of Sussex would be publishing his memoir next year.

It was announced last week that Prince Harry, 36, will write up “mistakes and lessons learned” during his life, in a groundbreaking memoir set to be published next year. However, one person who has questioned the move is royal author Lady Colin Campbell, as she alleged the Duke is “not capable” of putting pen to paper himself.

Announcing the deal with publishers Penguin Random House, Prince Harry said he would reflect “the highs and lows” and be “accurate and wholly truthful”.

Harry, who alongside his wife Meghan Markle, stepped back from royal duties last year, will donate the proceeds to charity.

The Duke is said to have recently spoken privately with his family about writing the book.

Speaking on reports by the Evening Standard that Prince Harry had hired ghostwriter JR Moehringer to type up his musings, Lady Colin claimed: “Harry failed English Language at Eton, not withstanding the fact that he’s an English prince, not withstanding the fact his grandmother is Queen and he was brought up to speak the Queen’s English, which it has to be said he does not always do.”

She reiterated: “He failed English at school. Harry is not capable of writing a book.”

 

The aristocrat alleged Prince Harry had employed JR Moehringer because he is a skilled words-worth who is able to embellish his recollections.

 

She claimed: “He also has a very efficient, aggressive, one could almost say imaginative ghostwriter.

 

“You know a good writer makes the story better than it really is. He has hired a good writer, he’s going to make the story better than it really is.”

Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Prince Harry for comment.

There has been no suggestion that the Duke did fail England Language at school.

In a statement, he said: “I’m writing this not as the prince I was born but as the man I have become.”

Prince Harry added: “I’ve worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story – the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned – I can help show that no matter where we come from, we have more in common than we think.

 

“I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the course of my life so far and excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.”

Markus Dohle, of Penguin Random House, described the Duke as being among “world-renowned leaders, icons, and change-makers we have been privileged to publish over the years”.

A press release described the book as “intimate and heartfelt” and “honest and moving”.

It added: “Prince Harry will offer an honest and captivating personal portrait, one that shows readers that behind everything they think they know lies an inspiring, courageous, and uplifting human story.”

 

 

The Sussexes have established an organisation called Archewell, which has production arms alongside a non-profit foundation.

In May, it was announced that the Duchess of Sussex would publish a children’s book, The Bench, about father-son relationships, as seen through the eyes of mothers with the same publisher.

It was said to be inspired by the bond between Harry and their son.

Out in London today, Lady Colin Campbell’s book “Meghan and Harry: The Real Story.” Note who gets top billing. It calls her “an operator.” It also calls her lots more. It calls him “pathetic.” It also calls him lots more. And don’t anyone get their knickers in a twist because Pegasus releases this 400-page scorcher in the US next month. The cover is them together.

Chapter 1: Campbell claims MM immediately “jettisoned British traditions that didn’t suit her” … she showed such rock-solid self-importance that Prince Philip nicknamed her Tungsten … although a divorcee, she defied palace dictum of cream color for anyone previously married and insisted on a virginal white wedding gown.

Andrew’s kid Princess Eugenie was to be a bride wearing — per Queen Elizabeth’s promise — an emerald and diamond tiara. The book alleges Me-Me-Meghan demanded exactly that tiara, demanded her own ceremony precede Eugenie’s, demanded Eugenie’s nuptials be postponed, even demanded Her Majesty break the promise that Eugenie might wear that headpiece. I know author Campbell. Georgie, friends call her, is no shrunken violet. She knows from courts and lawsuits. However, she’s acquainted with every royal going back to Catherine the Great. She also knows from best sellers like her Princess Diana bios. And she said: “I go into everything surrounding her pregnancy and all’s been minutely vetted by lawyers. I have spoken to courtiers, Romeos, princes, princesses, relations, friends in detail. Knowing she intended to marry him from word Go, they were desperate to talk. Still, I bent over backwards to be positive.”

Campbell claims: “She’s a total opportunist. She knew in advance she’d embark on commercial ventures, which royalty strictly forbids. She now has what she wanted — a millionaire’s life in Hollywood. She’s caused Harry to lose most of his friends. He’s weaker than she. He’s run ragged. Despite the sex, she will make his life miserable. He has no strength of character to leave her.”

I’m sure he will eventually – whether it is with Bayern Munich or England. No-one has won a trophy with England since 1966, so that’s not an easy thing to do as an England player. Club-wise, he’s an amazing player. He is the best centre-forward in the world. He can do absolutely everything. He’s got a big opportunity this summer to win a trophy with England. We have got the best squad in the tournament and I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t go all the way and win it.”

Quizzed on whether the lack of major honours will be annoying Kane, Redknapp added: “No, it won’t. He won’t be thinking about it. Look at how many goals he has scored again at Munich this year – a crazy amount. He has done his job. There are players that win trophies that are bang average but happen to be in a good team. He’s a fantastic player. He will go down in history at Tottenham as the leading goalscorer of all-time. Nobody will probably beat that. He’s a special player. I don’t think it will be bothering him. Kane severed ties with Spurs as they were unable to deliver on his ambition, and Redknapp said when asked if the club’s all-time leading goalscorer could retrace steps to north London at some stage: “I doubt it. I doubt he will want to go back. It’s always a difficult one, going back. Bayern Munich have had a bad year, but it’s a massive club. Vincent Kompany going in there, I’m sure he can’t wait to work with Harry Kane. He can build a team around him next year. I would be surprised if he came back to Tottenham.”

He added when pressed on a possible return to the Premier League: “Eventually, yeah, I could see him. It depends how long he stays at Munich. I don’t think he’d want to come back at the end of his career if he’s starting to be on the wane a bit. While he is doing well, I can see him staying in Germany for the foreseeable future. He has gone there to do a job and win things and he won’t be happy until he achieves that.”

His parents, although extremely supportive, had their share of disagreements with David. This is particularly true in the case of his father.

The Beckham family

The early years of David’s life were all about football. Being the young sensation of Leytonstone at the time, David’s entire childhood was dedicated to improving his craft. Growing up with his father, Ted, mother, Sandra, and two sisters, David had a middle-class upbringing. David went on to train at the Bobby Charlton School, and playing for Manchester United was always his goal. His father, Ted was always a die-hard Manchester United fan and shaped David to be the same way, and aspired for him to play in Old Trafford someday.

“He loves my mum but he’s never been affectionate to her in front of my two sisters and me. He’s quite hard-faced and can be sarcastic.”

The untimely departure from United

Not only did the separation affect the father-son dynamics, but David’s departure from Manchester United did its damage as well. David’s departure from Manchester United was sudden.

And Ted allegedly heard about David’s move from United to Real Madrid through David’s agent, and that just didn’t sit well with him. In fact, Ted’s book even mentioned that David’s fame was one of the reasons he and his wife split up. As per The Express, he said:

Varane moved to United from Real Madrid in July 2021 for an initial fee of £34million and made 93 appearances but left amicably after a string of injuries.

He is said to have cost the Red Devils £85m in transfer fees and wages during his three campaigns, in which he made just 68 Premier League appearances.

But despite this, Beckham is said to be ready to hand the former France international another sizeable payday in his bid to boost the profile of his Florida-based club.

Inter Miami are top of the MLS table after 20 games and would be able to snap up Varane outside of the transfer window – which is open from July 18 to August 14.

Varane proved a popular figure during his time at United and won the Carabao Cup in 2023 before lifting the FA Cup on his final appearance for the club last season.

Ahead of the 2-1 victory against Manchester City at Wembley, he had confirmed he would be leaving in an emotional video message recorded for supporters.

‘It’s been an amazing few years to play for this special club and wearing that shirt,’ Varane said. ‘The first time I went to Old Trafford as a Manchester United player was insane, the atmosphere was amazing.

‘When the fans go to Wembley it’s something they remember for life. To share that moment with them [winning the Carabao Cup] was absolutely amazing.

‘Despite the fact we had a difficult season, I’m very positive for the future.

‘The new owners are coming with a clear plan and a great strategy. I’ll see you at Old Trafford to say goodbye for the last game at home this season [against Newcastle] and it’s going to be a very emotional day for me, for sure.’

Varane spent 10 years at Real Madrid, where he won three LaLiga titles, three Champions Leagues, three Spanish Super Cups and the Copa del Rey.

Loose Women presenter Janet Street-Porter shared her views on the BBC’s The Reckoning, which documents the sickening crimes of paedophile Jimmy Savile

Loose Women’s Janet Street-Porter admits her skin felt creeped out as she tuned into The Reckoning on Monday night.

The broadcaster was discussing the BBC drama with her fellow panellists, Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan and Joanna Page as she recalled meeting the “real” Jimmy Savile during her time at the BBC. Janet, 76, made a name for herself in the journalism industry as well as producing several radio shows – but didn’t directly work on any of Savile’s.

Actor and comedian Steve Coogan is taking on the role of the vile predator who was exposed as a paedophile, rapist and serial abuser only after his death. While the true extent of his crimes may never be known, Savile was guilty of horrific crimes against teenage girls, young women, younger girls, boys, ill people, disabled people and even the dead.

Speaking on Loose Women, Janet said: “I could barely watch it actually because first of all, Steve Coogan is a fine actor, he made a transition from being a comedian to being a really, really fine actor. And of course, years and years ago, I was at the BBC, I appeared on several shows with Jimmy Savile, and I worked as an executive in the night entertainment department where he made many shows. But I never produced any shows with Jimmy Savile.

“So I have met the real Jimmy Savile and the idea that he re-appeared in my living room, that portrayal actually made me and my flesh creep. I felt sick, actually. It had a very, very powerful effect on me.”

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant continued: “The dancehall scenes in episode one, of course, I was in those dancehalls, though not up north, I was in Central London, I was those girls that used to dance and of course, there were girls who used to go backstage with the DJ and hung out with the groups and the groupies – everybody knows that.”

But Janet admits she was upset over the BBC drama as it doesn’t “add anything” to what the nation already knows about the predator. “What we know now and ignored or didn’t want to think about at the time,” she said before adding: “What I personally would have preferred if we are going to go right through how did this horrible thing happen and nobody noticed, I would have preferred a documentary.”

Ruth added that watching a certain scene in the programme which saw Savile invite two young women back to his home made her skin crawl. Savile died aged 84 in October 2011. Throughout his life, Savile was confronted with several allegations of sexual abuse with the first known case being launched in 1958 – although there was not sufficient evidence.

Following his death, allegations dating back to 1963 were made against him and an official investigation, Operation Yewtree was launched in 2012. In October of the same year, The Met Police said they were looking into 400 enquiries and that the number of alleged victims was around 450.
