What is the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland…Meghan Markle’s mother reveals a shocking secret about her daughter

Could be several things. 1) Doria was not the primary parent for many years and in fact, some say it is because Doria committed tax fraud and was in prison. I have no idea if this is true 2) Doria has benefitted financially from Meghan’s marriage – Meghan set up an LLC for Doria and it’s likely that’s how Meghan “pays” her mother. 3) Meghan has cut off all ties with her father for reasons that could be seen as petty – he posed for some photos for the press – after he spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on her upbringing and education. At the same time, Doria chided him in the Netflix series, saying. “That’s not a parent,” in regards to him selling the photos despite the fact that she in fact was a pot smoking, often absent, tax frauding, parent. People think because Meghan pays Doria, Doria will say anything for her which seems pretty dysfunctional to me – that’s not a mother/daughter relationship.

My personal feeling is that both Doria and Meghan are hustlers and con-artists and that Doria taught Meghan the skills to manipulate and dupe.

In a calculated move aimed at refurbishing her public image,Meghan Markle is facing accusations of enlisting the support of her mother, Doria Ragland. The controversy has erupted following Doria’s conspicuous presence alongside the Kardashians at a recent charity event over the weekend.

Doria Ragland, 66, was captured in snapshots socializing with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner during the This Is About Humanity charity gala held in LA. While Meghan herself was notably absent from the event, speculations have arisen that she orchestrated her mother’s attendance as a strategic maneuver to rebuild her own reputation.

    The accusations unveiled

During a recent appearance on GB News, Kara Kennedy from The Spectator voiced her allegations. The discussion centered on Doria’s unexpected appearance at the charity function, prompting the question of why Meghan wasn’t present instead.

Kara Kennedy opined, “This move by Meghan is emblematic of her signature tactics, using her mother as a charm offensive to regain favor she might have lost. It’s a shrewd move, and I’d dare say, quite ingenious.”

    The emergence of Doria Ragland
Kara proceeded, highlighting the low-profile maintained by Doria since Meghan’s marriage to Prince Harry. Kara suggested a resurgence of Doria’s public presence was likely on the horizon, hinting at her pivotal role in Meghan’s endeavor to forge a new path for herself, independently of her royal ties.

Drawing attention to Meghan’s new Instagram handle, which now simply reads ‘Meghan,’ Kara speculated on Doria’s potential influence in Meghan’s quest for reinvention, asserting, “Doria could very well be her secret weapon as she embarks on this transformation.”

    Contrasting with the drama
In contrast to the tumultuous relationships Meghan’s other family members, such as her father Thomas Markle, have exhibited in the public eye, Doria has remained largely uninvolved in controversies. “Doria has steered clear of any drama in recent years,” Kara noted.

Doria as the catalyst for success

Kara further hypothesized that Doria might serve as the key to mending fences and reestablishing ties with Meghan’s Hollywood connections. “The presence of Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner is a significant step in the right direction,” Kara asserted. However, royal expert Ingrid Seward expressed skepticism, labeling the snapshot with the Kardashians as coincidental, possibly arranged by photographers.

Ingrid also countered the notion that Doria would be comfortable immersing herself in the celebrity limelight. This perspective aligns with Meghan’s previous statements about her mother’s inclination to avoid the center of attention.

    Debate and discord
The debate over Meghan’s motives and the role of Doria in her image rehabilitation continued. Dan Wooton offered a contrasting viewpoint, dismissing Meghan’s past remarks. “Let’s not take Meghan’s past statements at face value,” he retorted.

Asserting his stance, he confidently proclaimed, “This is the mother of Meghan Markle – a woman who clearly seeks the spotlight. The photographed encounter was no mere coincidence. Mark my words.”

In a high-stakes game of image reconstruction, Meghan Markle’s strategic employment of her mother, Doria Ragland, has sparked intrigue and controversy alike. As speculations swirl and opinions clash, only time will reveal the true intentions behind this calculated maneuver.

Meghan Markle: Expert reveals ‘most suitable’ woman for Harry
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex not only celebrated their one-year anniversary last month, but also welcomed into the world their first son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. Meghan and Harry’s relationship has moved incredibly quickly compared to other couples in the Royal Family. In July 2016, Meghan was strolling around London when she was randomly introduced to Harry by a mutual friend and they both claim to have experienced love at first sight.

How Prince Harry lifted lid on what Queen is really like as ‘granny’
Less than two years after, on November 27, 2017, the Prince of Wales announced that the two were engaged.

Despite the couple always showing affection for each other – from their first public outing to finally introducing baby Archie to the world – both had been in serious relationships before they met.

Meghan was married to film director Trevor Engelson for around two years, while Harry was in long-term relationships with Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas.

In 2014 ITV documentary “Prince Harry at 30”, the Duke of Sussex’s biographer Chris Hutchins looked back at the Prince’s previous relationships.

In 2012, Princess Eugenie introduced Harry to Cressida and the two lasted two years.

Both Chelsy and Cressida were in attendance at Windsor Castle for Prince Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding last year.

Mr Hutchins said about the model: “She is the most suitable person he has ever had in his life.

“Cressida’s love for Harry came not from the fact he was the Queen’s grandson.

“She wasn’t interested in that – she comes from a very grand ancestry herself.

“The fly in the ointment was he would have married her for sure by now, but she had no wishes to be a princess.”

Royal correspondent Chrissie Reeves added: “She didn’t really seem to like the press.

“The only time we saw her pose was just on one occasion at an event and she was very much dressed down with skinny jeans and trainers.”

Unlike Cressida, Meghan appears to be enjoying the attention from the media.

Royal filmmaker Nick Bulleten recently told Fox News she will be taking a “very short maternity leave” because she wants to get back to her charity work as quickly as possible.

He said: “She’s aware of the media attention she possesses and she’s not afraid to use it.”

Regarding the growing media spectacle surrounding her life, he added: “My understanding from people who know her well and work with her, she’s handling it very well.

“She knew what she was marrying into – this is not a girl who was unaware of the power of the press.

“I think unlike a 19-year-old Lady Diana Spencer from all those years ago, who was overwhelmed with the attention, Meghan knew what she was getting into.

” I think it was possibly bigger than what she realised, but my understanding from people who knew her years ago and people who are working with her now, she’s handling it very well.

“In fact, she’s enjoying it. This is what she thrives on.”

Meghan’s ex-husband unexpectedly demands a $100 million compensation after their divorce, prompting the Duchess’s birth mother to step in and “rescue her daughter.”

Meghan Markle may have married into the royal family and on the cusp of motherhood, ready to look after her own bub – but it doesn’t mean her mum Doria Ragland won’t be by her side.

The Duchess of Sussex’s mother is said to have come to her daughter’s defence after reported surfaced that her ex-husband and American actor Trevor Engelson had plans to launch a TV comedy based on their failed marriage.

According to British newspaper The Sun, “Doria Ragland, who is currently preparing to head to Windsor for the imminent arrival of Baby Sussex, was previously dispatched by the Duchess of Sussex to confront her ex-husband Trevor Engelson about his plans to launch a TV comedy based on the couple’s failed marriage.”

The comedy sparked a lot of conversations, with the executive producer of hit TV show Modern Family working on it with Trevor via Fox Studios.

It was expected that fans would follow the story which saw the ex-husband of a British princess struggle with having to share custody of their (fictitious) child with a princess in England.

The storyline had obvious comparisons to Meghan and Prince Harry’s public marriage,  therefore The Duchess heavily opposed the comedy, particularly as it planned to make fun of the royal romance on a weekly basis.

The Sun suggests Meghan’s mother “is believed to have maintained a friendly relationship with Trevor – and her intervention seems to have worked. He ended up agreeing to drop the comedy altogether.”

Meghan and Trevor began dating in 2004 and tied the knot in 2011. He was a producer on her famous legal drama Suits.

The Duchess is yet to make any formal announcement about the TV show.

Loose Women presenter Denise Welch, 64, has waded in on the debate of Prince Harry, 38, attending King Charles’ upcoming coronation.

In her podcast, Denise Welch’s Juicy Crack, she discussed Prince Harry’s attendance at the long-awaited event.

Her comments come after the palace confirmed he will be attending alone, without wife Meghan Markle, 41.

It is unclear how long he will stay, due to the coronation falling on the fourth birthday of his son Archie, who will be remaining with his mother and sister Lilibet in the US.

Defending Harry, Denise admitted she’s “fed up with it” and “over the coronation” – before it has even begun.

She also discussed Meghan’s decision not to attend the coronation, saying: “Why would she want to come here?

As for Prince Harry, she added: “I imagine it will be absolute purgatory for him to come to the coronation.”

Royal experts have predicted Harry will be “very nervous” at the coronation, and that the Duke will avoid awkward conversations.

It has also been reported that Harry will play a background role during the event and will only stay in the UK for 24 hours.

Nick Bullen, editor-in-chief of True Royalty TV, explained how Prince Harry will be feeling during the celebrations.

Speaking to the US Weekly’s Royally Us show, he said: “I think he will be nervous about how the family will react to him, and I think it is pretty clear he will try to minimise the amount of time he is in London.

“He wants to be back for Archie’s birthday that evening, so it will be very much a flying visit.”

This suggests there may not be enough time to hash out recent disputes surrounding the Sussex’s criticism of the Royal Family.

Mr Bullen added: “What he has in his favour is that there will be very little chance for any of them to speak because they will all be coming from different places, they will all be travelling in different cars and carriages.”

Harry’s relationship with the royals has been fraught since the release of his memoir, Spare and the couples’ Netflix series which aired in 2022.

Prince Andrew broke down after hearing about his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson‘s health battle, according to a sensational report which claims the disgraced royal is fearing the worst.

“Andrew is terrified Sarah is going to die,” a high-level palace courtier spilled, RadarOnline.com has learned. The Duchess of York revealed in January that she has been diagnosed with malignant melanoma after battling breast cancer.

Her spokesperson said it was “distressing” for Fergie to deal with another struggle like this so soon after treatment but that she is strong and remains “in good spirits.”

“Sarah is his rock — and financial lifeline! I’m told he was so distraught, he sobbed to aides, ‘What will I do without her?’” the insider said, according to The National Enquirer, claiming it raised eyebrows as Andrew seems to be self-focused amid her health battle.

Fergie is currently undergoing tests to see if the disease has spread or if she caught it quick enough in the early stages.

SOURCE: MEGAA representative for Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, previously revealed that she had been diagnosed with skin cancer.

“It was thanks to the great vigilance of my dermatologist that the melanoma was detected when it was,” Fergie shared in a statement. “I believe my experience underlines the importance of checking the size, shape, color and texture and emergence of new moles that can be a sign of melanoma and urge anyone who is reading this to be diligent.”

According to the report, “losing her would be a bigger disaster [for Andrew] than being forced to tell all the FBI about his sleazy friendship with Jeffrey Epstein,” added the courtier.

Andrew and Fergie have lived together at Royal Lodge in Windsor since 2008 despite splitting in 1996 and him being embroiled in scandal.

The 63-year-old’s past ties to Epstein, the disgraced financier who died by suicide in Aug. 2019 before a trial on sex trafficking charges, have resurfaced in recent weeks.

Andrew’s name was featured over 70 times in explosive court docs unsealed by a U.S. court, relating to a 2015 lawsuit brought by accuser Virginia Giuffre against his Epstein right-hand woman and madam, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Giuffre claimed she was forced to have sex with Andrew when she was a minor, which he has always denied.

Denise Welch is angry at Loose Women guest ‘don’t disrespect me’ during explosive row with Meghan Markle

A discussion about the Royal Family on Loose Women descended into chaos when Denise Welch told a guest not to ‘disrespect her’.

On Monday’s episode of the ITV programme, royal correspondent and the late Queen Elizabeth’s former press spokesperson Dickie Arbiter appeared to speak about the one-year anniversary of King Charles’ coronation.

However, things took a turn when he mentioned the strained relations between Prince Harry and his family.

‘Harry has been rubbishing his family since they walked out in 2020,’ he said.

Jumping in, Denise asked him if he believed if there was a reason Harry ‘did such a thing’ after his interview with Oprah Winfrey was mentioned, as well as his explosive autobiography Spare.

Commenting how she believed the King ‘ruined a lot of’ Princess Diana’s life, Denise then mentioned how Meghan Markle was ‘continually trashed by the media, including by yourself’.

    Denise Welch on Loose Women.

As the studio audience began clapping, Denise raised her voice and declared: ‘I am just sick to death of the bashing that this woman gets.

‘Hardly any of you mention Andrew and yet we continually berate this woman every day. I think when her children grow up and see what she goes through, I think Harry had a bloody good reason to write that book in my opinion.’

Responding, Dickie said he ‘wasn’t going to argue’ with Denise as that wasn’t the aim of his appearance but added that he believed she had ‘been reading too many tabloid stories’.

Hitting back, Denise was not impressed and told him not to ‘disrespect’ her.

‘I have read lots of stories about Meghan before and I think it is a disgrace the way she has been treated,’ she said.

After Dickie said the way Harry and Meghan had treated the Royal Family was ‘disgraceful’ and said the couple ‘didn’t have to walk out’, Coleen Nolan tried to diffuse the situation.

However, Denise was outraged: ‘Don’t have a guest on and… I can say what I like Coleen!’

Dickie then said that he would like to see a reunion between the King and his youngest son, with the conversation then calming down.

As the segment wrapped up, he and Denise then kissed each other on the cheek.

There was a mixed reaction to what unfolded from viewers, with some praising Denise and others saying she should have held her tongue.

‘Denise entitled to her opinion, but there’s a time and a place to let rip,’ Katie posted on X.

‘Denise Welch does not have the ability to listen or speak to people in a respectful way. Dickie Arbiter acted with class and everyone like he said is entitled to their own opinion. Just not in the appalling way she did,’ Chris shared.

‘If Dickie hadn’t rubbished Harry and Meghan, Denise wouldn’t have needed to step in and give the other side of the debate. Good on her,’ Tina added.

A long-time supporter of Harry and Meghan, this time last year Denise declared that she would prefer to ‘declare my allegiance’ to the young couple rather than the monarch.

During an episode of Loose Women in which the panel discussed the public being invited to ‘cry out and swear allegiance’ to King Charles and Queen Camilla, Denise said that while she ‘has nothing against the Royal Family’ she wanted to instead pledge allegiance to Harry and Meghan.

A bombshell German documentary is set to expose new secrets about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The high-profile TV production will once again shine a spotlight on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The documentary, directed by seasoned Royal Family journalist Ulrike Grunewald, is being produced for Germany’s ZDF network.

It’s expected to look a bit different to the couple’s 2022 Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, which shared recent events in their lives through their own eyes.

Grunewald has jetted off to California with a team of five, including respected London producer Mo Davies, to gather insights in Montecito, where the Royal couple rub shoulders with other A-listers just north of Hollywood.

Among those interviewed is Richard Mineards, a former Fleet Street Royal reporter who now writes for The Montecito Journal. In his latest column, he revealed: “Los Angeles-based producer, Melanie Hillmann grilled me for two hours on my Riven Rock neighbours, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, under director Ulrike Grunewald. The interview is airing in due course as part of a prime-time documentary on ZDF Royal.”

Grunewald, a well-known figure in German television and a presenter on the news programme Heute-Journal (Today-Journal), has been covering Royal affairs since 1987. Her first major assignment was reporting on then-Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s visit to Germany for ZDF.

Grunewald caught a glimpse of the Prince at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf in September 2023. The expert observed: “Now that Meghan is here, he is over the moon. They have been holding hands, cheering competitors on at various matches and games. They seem intimate and very close. Either that or they are very good actors. From where I’ve been watching, they seem very in love.”

She further added: “It felt like the old Harry was back. He talked to all of us. We had some little toys that we gave for Archie and Lilibet. He said he was enjoying Germany and has a lot of German in him, he was obviously referring to his family heritage.”

Prince Harry meets with mother and founder of King’s Lynn-based bereavement charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers Nikki Scott for emotional conversation

Prince Harry comforted the founder of a Lynn-based charity as she shared the moment she told her son his dad had been killed in Afghanistan.

The Duke of Sussex, sat with Nikki Scott, founder of Scotty’s Little Soldiers, as part of a video released by the organisation in the run-up to Armed Forces Day.

As the global ambassador of the charity, Prince Harry took part in a Scotty’s event, where he surprised children and young people who are supported by it.

Nikki recalled the day back in July 2009 when she was told of her husband’s death

“It was the worst, how do you tell a five-year-old this?” she said.

“I took him up and sat him on the bed and I said, ‘Kai, do you remember where Daddy was?’ and he said, ‘yeah, Afghan’, and I said, ‘something really bad has happened and the baddies (because he used to play army) have hurt dad and he’s died.’”

The personal tragedy inspired Nikki to create Scotty’s Little Soldiers after seeing the positive impact a family holiday had on Kai.

She wanted other bereaved military children to have the opportunity to smile again, and she founded the charity in 2010.

Prince Harry, whose mother Princess Diana died in 1997 when he was 12 years old, said: “You convince yourself that the person you’ve lost wants you, or you need to be sad for as long as possible to prove to them that they are missed.”
The charity supports more than 680 members. Picture: Scotty's Little SoldiersThe charity supports more than 680 members. Picture: Scotty’s Little Soldiers
Scotty’s Little Soldiers currently supports more than 680 members and estimates that each year 2,100 children are newly bereaved of parents who served in the British Armed Forces.

The charity supports these children until their 25th birthday with one-to-one bereavement support, respite breaks with their families, meetings with others in a similar situation and access to extracurricular activities.

“What you’ve done is incredible,” Harry added.

“It is truly inspirational. I’m really honoured and privileged to be part of Scotty’s now and I really look forward to us doing everything we can to bring in more people, more interest, raise more funds and be able to get the message out there to get more kids the support they so desperately need.”

Llywelyn Hall stated: “In Harry’s case, I have entered the story before he met Meghan the young party-goer with his future very much in the balance, a bit like the Bonnie Prince I have likened him to. I thought putting Meghan in the role of the White Queen, who was a Queen Consort and possibly the most influential ‘outsider’ in Royal history, might have a fine irony to it and not necessarily beyond the realms of reality.”

At just 32, Hall was commissioned by the Welsh Rugby Union in 2012 to create a portrait of the Queen, for which she sat at Windsor Castle. Since then, his Royal portfolio has expanded to include a portrait celebrating Prince William’s journey into fatherhood, a live painting of the state funeral of the late Queen, and the coronation procession of Prince Charles.

Hall has now created 10 new portraits inspired by royalty throughout history for the Society of Antiquaries. Fellow artist Adam Dant has also contributed 10 pieces to the collection. The exhibition, named ‘The Reign’, commemorates 150 years of the society at Burlington House in London’s Piccadilly. The artworks will be auctioned off to fund the cataloguing and digitisation of approximately 25,000 prints and drawings from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Speaking about his work, Hall said: “The royal family is possibly the most enthralling longest-running drama in history, the inspiration of theatre, books and every art form. It seemed that these figures caught on the knife edge of public opinion were ideal for drawing comparisons from distant monarchs like the exiled princes and princesses of the past, that lurk in the background but are still irrevocably tied to the job. We can’t help ourselves and wonder whatever next?”

Reacting to the new portraits on social media, one Mirror reader today wrote on Facebook: “The portrait is well painted, but is slightly reminiscent of the old paintings of Spanish ladies. Does she have Spanish heritage as well?” Another added: “Don’t look nothing like her.” A third declared: “Not flattering at all!”

Meghan Markle requested her ex-husband to sign a “surrogate pregnancy contract,” going to great lengths to win over Prince Harry, expressing her desire to become the Queen of England.

Meghan Markle made her first husband agree to a ‘pregnancy contract’ to make sure she was afforded every possible luxury if she gave birth to their child, a close friend has revealed to DailyMailTV.

The then-rising actress was so concerned about the rigors of baby-making – and getting herself back in celebrity-shape – that she demanded husband Trevor Engelson pay for a personal trainer and a nutritionist to help her along if they conceived.

The Duchess of Sussex also ironed out child care details to ensure Engelson was happy to pay for a nanny to help, a source told DailyMailTV.

The revelation comes just days after Meghan and Prince Harry revealed they were expecting their first child and gives a whole new meaning to the saying ‘too posh to push’.

Pregnancy contracts are increasingly popular in the US, particularly in the Duchess’ hometown of Los Angeles.

Although they tend to cover parental responsibilities after giving birth, such as the division of household duties, and according to the insider Meghan was focused on making sure she did not lose her figure.

At the time of the agreement, said to have been a couple of years after her 2011 wedding to producer Engelson, Meghan was finally getting success with TV series Suits.

‘It came up at a time when they were considering having a family, at some point in the near future,’ said the friend, who was once close to the Duchess.

‘She knows the heavy-weighted body-type runs in her family and has always been terrified of putting on extra pounds, particularly given her career at the time.

‘Anytime she puts on a bit of weight, it shows on her face, so she wanted to make sure she would be camera-ready very quickly.

‘She demanded a personal trainer and nutritionist during and after the pregnancy.

‘I’m sure a nanny was discussed too, but the main focus for her was on health and weight.’

The friend added: ‘Meghan may have only just joined the Royal Family, but she always wanted to be treated like a princess.’

The friend said that no lawyers were involved in the agreement with Meghan penning an informal document for her husband to sign.

But the Duchess, 37, was deadly serious about the contract and Engelson had no choice but to agree.

The friend said: ‘She says she got him to sign something, maybe just a handwritten letter that she could hang over his head.

‘You know what they say – happy wife, happy life. He knew he married someone who was very concerned about her image, and at times very insecure about her body, so he just went along with it.

‘She wouldn’t have taken ‘no’ for an answer and he knew it. But the end of her marriage came before they could take any of the plans forward.’

Long Island native Engelson, 42, and Meghan met in 2004 before she became famous on Suits and dated for six years before getting engaged in 2010.

The former couple married in a beachfront ceremony at the Jamaica Inn in Jamaica in September, 2011 in front of 100 family and friends.

But their relationship grew strained as Meghan left to film Suits in Toronto, Canada, while Engelson stayed at their home in Los Angeles.

The distance eventually took its toll and they separated in the summer of 2013.

Their marriage officially ended in 2014 with ‘irreconcilable differences’ cited in their divorce papers.

Engelson, like Meghan, has since moved on and DailyMailTV revealed he married nutritionist Tracey Kurland in a low-key ceremony in California earlier this month.

Fortunately now that Meghan is part of the Royal Family, her image is already being carefully looked after – and she can expect every luxury imaginable.

‘She loves to be pampered, so she will be as happy as can be I’m sure,’ continued the friend.

‘She has always wanted kids and a ‘nuclear family’ structure, so she will be very excited about it. She is going to be beaming into motherhood.

‘And to be able to have it all – to be a symbol of feminism and empowerment as well as motherhood and royalty at the same time – it is all that she could want.’

The friend added: ‘Meghan likes to be in control, and her image is very important, so she could be a little scared and insecure about what’s to come. I hope [Harry] is ready to hold her hand and let her be the center of attention’ (pictured last Monday in Australia)

But Harry might still be in for a ‘bumpy’ ride.

‘Meghan likes to be in control, and her image is very important, so she could be a little scared and insecure about what’s to come,’ said the friend.

‘I hope he is ready to hold her hand and let her be the center of attention.

‘Of course her own problems with her father are well-documented, so she will be setting Harry some very high standards.

‘She has essentially dismissed her father to be with him, so she will be expecting him to step up for sure.’

Meghan is currently in Fiji with Prince Harry, 34, on a royal tour.

The royal father-to-be raised a toast at a state dinner Tuesday.

During a cycling event at the Invictus Games in Sydney on Sunday he revealed he wants his first child to be a girl.
