Danny Miller’s wife Steph praised by fans after breastfeeding baby on live TV

Emmerdale’s Danny Miller appeared on the ITV daytime show Loose Women on Friday, and his wife Steph managed to discreetly breastfeed their newborn daughter while being interviewed

Emmerdale star Danny Miller’s wife Steph has been praised by fans after breastfeeding live during Loose Women.

The couple appeared on the ITV daytime show on Friday as they candidly discussed the difficulties they faced falling pregnant, as Steph, who is a midwife, suffers from polycystic ovaries (PCOS), which can lead to fertility problems. However, their newborn daughter Edith could be heard crying backstage, prompting Steph’s mum to bring her out to be settled.

Steph, who had an intense water birth at home, introduced her daughter to the panellists and audience, and realising her daughter needed feeding, she discreetly began breastfeeding the newborn, while Danny had their two-year-old son Albert on his knee. Viewers were impressed by Steph’s multi-tasking skills, and heaped praise on the mum-of-two for bringing awareness to breastfeeding. “A massive well done to Steph Miller, showing how natural breastfeeding is especially on live tv,” one tweeted.

“What a lovely moment to see steph just turning away from the camera so she could breast feed her beautiful baby xxx #proudmum #breastfeeding,” another added, while a viewer agreed: “How utterly brilliant to see Steph breastfeeding live on air! Well done.” Another viewer commended Steph for her “brave” decision to breastfeed on the live show, commenting: “Yes Steph!!!! Well done for braving feeding on TV, fab to see!!! Congratulations to you both on your arrival!!”

Another viewer was blown away by Steph’s confidence, and wrote: “Just idly flicking through TV channels and saw interview on @loosewomen with Danny Miller and his wife Steph who is a #midwife and had #homebirth and casually #breastfeeding ! Absolutely amazing ! What an advocate! Cheered up my day no end. Enjoy your beautiful family.”

Emmerdale star Danny explained how they had navigated the emotional turmoil they faced when trying to get pregnant, and he realised his job was just to support Steph as she was given the fertility drug Clomid to help her get pregnant. “That’s my role to be there for my partner Steph and that’s all I ever wanted to do was just support her the best I could and I think supporting each other through it worked, you know once you’ve got a shoulder to cry on,” he sweetly shared.

Steph also spoke about her home birth with Edith, and said it was “amazing” as she recalled the intense 36-minute labour. “We had a home birth at my mum’s house as we were in the process of moving again and my mum was decorating her bedroom so it was empty. We put the pool up in mum’s room and it was amazing,” she said.

Prince Harry has been nominated for the Pat Tillman Award for Service at the 2022 ESPY Awards, but the decision has been met with criticism from some in the US, including sports analyst Pat McAfee

Prince Harry has come under fire in the US after being nominated for a prestigious award that some believe he doesn’t deserve.

Pat McAfee, a sports analyst and former NFL punter, criticised the ESPY Awards for nominating the Duke of Sussex for the Pat Tillman Award for Service.

This award is meant for someone with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that honours the legacy of Pat Tillman, a former NFL player and US Army Ranger who was killed in action in Afghanistan.

McAfee argued that Prince Harry’s nomination does not fit with the award’s intended purpose and questioned the selection process. “A lot of conversation about Pat Tillman’s name,” McAfee said. “American hero … Now there’s an award named after him, as there should be in the sports world because that is somebody who is the definition of selfless.”, reports the Express.

“It’s going to Prince Harry, who I don’t even think is a prince anymore,” he added, referring to Harry’s departure from Royal duties. Boston Connor, McAfee’s show co-host, labelled Prince Harry’s nomination as “probably the most embarrassing thing I’ve seen in my entire life”.

McAfee questioned whether the ESPY Awards’ committee had thoroughly researched its candidates. According to the ESPY Awards’ process, winners are chosen through global online fan voting from candidates selected by the ESPY Select Nominating Committee.

McAfee further criticised this process, suggesting it lacked due diligence. “When you do something like this, you know the immediate reaction from humans and sports fans and like people with common sense and brains is going to be like: ‘Hey, don’t be putting our f—ing guy with that guy,’” McAfee said, referring to Prince Harry.

McAfee also commented on Prince Harry’s contributions, such as founding the Invictus Games and serving in the British Army, but suggested these achievements might not align with the spirit of the Pat Tillman Award.

“I don’t know anything about him except for the South Park episode and what I’ve learned from The Crown,” McAfee admitted. “But did his people know like ‘you publicly put me up for this award. You’re just asking basically every person that considers themselves American and saying ‘this is bulls—.’”.

Ty Schmitt, another member of McAfee’s on-air team, further criticised the ESPYS, calling the awards “a gimmick” and arguing that numerous deserving American military members were overlooked.

“There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of people who they could have found who could have benefitted from this award. But instead let’s give it to Prince Harry,” he said.

McAfee suggested that the ESPY Awards create a new category specifically for Prince Harry. “How about it’s like ESPY for Royal Family member who doesn’t want to be called ‘Royal Family member’ who loves sports,” he jested.

The backlash underscores the ongoing controversy surrounding the criteria and suitability of award nominations, particularly those named after respected individuals like Pat Tillman.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have caused such deep wounds that they may never be forgiven by William and Princess Kate, one Royal expert fears.

Charles Rae, renowned former Royal correspondent, joined The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show recently to discuss how the royal brothers’ relationship might currently be in a tough spot. Speaking about the tense relationship that currently exists between the siblings, and who should initiate reconciliation – the Sussexes or the Waleses – Charles stated: “Well, I think it is down to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to make the first move.”

“Whether or not it would be accepted by William and Catherine, I doubt very much it would be. There’s too much water which has gone under that bridge. After everything Harry and Meghan have done with the Oprah Winfrey interview, that Netflix show… Spare. The flamboyant curtsey by Meghan on the show as well.

“There’s too much gone under the bridge now. If they’re going to make the move, I am not so sure William and Catherine would respond favourably.”

Over the past few years, the Prince of Wales has faced numerous hardships, including the loss of his grandmother, the late Queen, and Prince Philip, while his father King Charles and his wife Princess Kate have both been diagnosed with cancer. William has also had a strained relationship with his brother, Prince Harry, marked by several challenging moments.

One of the most poignant moments was on September 8, 2022, when the late Queen passed away at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. She was accompanied by her children, Princess Anne and Charles. Prince William, Edward, Andrew, and Sophie Wessex hurried to be there, while Prince Harry made his way separately to bid farewell.

There were early whispers that Meghan would join Harry on the journey to Balmoral, but he arrived solo. The Mail suggests she “changed her mind” about going, with Kate being the reason behind this decision.

Meghan Markle has reportedly not lost contact with her former celebrity friends, but will have a “smaller pool” of people to rely on as guests for her upcoming podcasts with Lemonada Media

Meghan Markle’s celebrity contact list “may have not completely diminished”, but the Duchess of Sussex now has a “smaller pool” of friends to rely on as guests for her upcoming podcasts with Lemonada Media, it has been claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex signed with Lemonada Media in February 2024 to launch a “dynamic new podcast” after her and Prince Harry’s split with Spotify, which saw the release of a 12-episode podcast series called Archetypes.

Meghan’s Archetypes podcast about female stereotypes ran for just one series before her lucrative £15million deal with the streaming giant ended in 2023.

Meghan’s podcast with Spotify ran for one season
    Image:

Celebrity PR Specialist Kayley Cornelius told Express : “While Meghan’s contact list may not have completely diminished, she will certainly have a smaller pool to rely on.

“Initially, we might expect her to call in favours from her remaining friends and work through their networks. For instance, long-term friend Priyanka Chopra, who did not feature on Archetypes, could be among the first names Meghan considers.”

She added that Meghan may have to reach out to her former TV Suits show colleagues, saying: “Other potential guests could include friends from her ‘Suits’ days, such as Abigail Spencer and Wendell Pierce, who likely remain accessible points of contact for Meghan.”

This comes amidst rumours of Meghan Markle’s recent fallouts with high-profile figures like Victoria Beckham, who was reportedly once close to the Duchess. David and Victoria Beckham had a long-standing friendship with Prince Harry and the rest of the royals, but their relationship with the Sussexes appears to have soured over the past few years.

In his latest book, House of Beckham, Royal author Tom Bower alleges that Meghan was “irritated” by Victoria’s greater wealth when they first met and felt they had “little in common”.

Kayley later suggested that Hollywood stars like Zendaya and Tom Holland are rumoured to be in contact with the Duchess of Sussex. However, she believes the chances of them appearing on her podcast are slim due to “high fees and limited availability”, which would “surpass the podcast’s budget” and platform capabilities.

The PR expert did offer a potential solution for Meghan’s lack of celebrity connections: “If Meghan’s new podcast aligns with her upcoming Netflix series and emphasises lifestyle content, she might pivot by engaging high-profile experts in various fields. Drawing inspiration from successful shows like Steven Bartlett’s ‘Diary of a CEO’ could help compensate for the lack of traditional celebrity connections.

Meghan’s debut Spotify podcast, Archetypes, reportedly racked up around one million listens per episode and was the top podcast in 47 countries upon its release in August 2022, as per the Daily Mail. The show featured high-profile guests like tennis legend Serena Williams and pop icon Mariah Carey.

Earlier this year, Meghan expressed her enthusiasm about her new venture, stating: “I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting.”

Following the end of their collaboration, Spotify and Harry and Meghan’s production company, Archewell Audio, announced they had “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together”.

Meghan Markle’s discovery in Frogmore Cottage drawer led to emotional realisation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were gifted Frogmore Cottage by the late Queen in 2019 but it was not long later that they decided to leave for the United States and take their belongings with them

Meghan Markle packed up personal belongings as the Sussexes left Frogmore Cottage before finally handing back the keys a year ago.

The cottage was the first place that Prince Harry and wife Meghan lived while part of the royal family. The couple were gifted Frogmore Cottage in 2019 by the late Queen Elizabeth, and paid for an extensive renovation independently after initially using taxpayers’ money and then repaying it.

But their time in the five-bedroom house was short-lived as by the end of 2019 they had announced their decision to leave the royal family and vacated in 2020.

The Sussexes headed to the United States and have set up home in Montecito, California, where they have been critical of other members of the royal family in a series of interviews to the American media. It has created plenty of friction that has no signs of easing.

Harry appears to have adapted to life in the US and while he rushed back to see his dad Charles when his cancer diagnosis was revealed, he did not see him the next time he was in the UK in May for an Invictus Games ceremony.

Meghan told how she was packing up personal belongings from Frogmore Cottage back in June 2022 including a diary and she herself was surprised what she had put in at the time.

“You go back and you open drawers and you’re like, Oh my gosh. This is what I was writing in my journal there?” she told The Cut. And at the time it sparked fears that it could lead to more revelations.

It was a year later that the Sussexes finally handed in the keys to the cottage. In Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare, he claimed that he and Meghan were “evicted” from the cottage after their decision to leave the royal family, with Charles asking them to leave.

The couple’s remaining possessions were shipped to California with courtier Sir Michael Stevens saying at the time in June 2023: “We can confirm that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have vacated Frogmore Cottage.” This is also the date that Prince Harry lists as officially starting his US residency.

The grand home isn’t expected to lay empty for long as now the King, 75, is said to be urging his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, to leave his 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor and move into Frogmore Cottage.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been immortalised in new royal-focussed artworks – something that has infuriated many royal fans.

Royal fans have issued the same complaint as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are given new “royal titles”.

Dan Llywelyn Hall, who is the artist who previously painted Queen Elizabeth II, has immortalised members of the Family – including the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The artworks also appear to show the Sussexes’ historic alter egos which reflect their status as royal outcasts.

Meghan’s portrait is called the Returning White Queen and sees her as Dame Elizabeth Grey, who is the politically influential wife of King Edward IV.

Harry, on the other hand, is depicted as Charles Edward Stuart – aka Bonnie Prince Charlie, the Young Pretender.

Royal fans have now taken to social media after seeing the paintings, with many not happy about the move.

Royal fans have appeared to all have the same complaint, with one even issuing that it is “worse than [the] Charles portrait”.

This is in reference to a painting released earlier this year that has been deemed the King’s “red” painting. Another fan said that Meghan and Harry’s paintings look like they’d been painted by a child.

Others said that they’d burst out laughing after seeing them. One fan commented: “Those pics have made my day, on the floor laughing with the tears rolling down my back.”

Speaking of his paintings, Llywelyn Hall said: “In Harry’s case, I have entered the story before he met Meghan the young party-goer with his future very much in the balance, a bit like the Bonnie Prince I have likened him to.

“I thought putting Meghan in the role of the White Queen, who was a Queen Consort and possibly the most influential ‘outsider’ in royal history, might have a fine irony to it and not necessarily beyond the realms of reality.”

The new paintings are set to go on display as part of an exhibition called The Reign.

Further speaking of his paintings, Mr Llywelyn Hall added: “The Royal Family is possibly the most enthralling longest-running drama in history, the inspiration of theatre, books and every art form.

“It seemed that these figures caught on the knife edge of public opinion were ideal for drawing comparisons from distant monarchs – like the exiled princes and princesses of the past, that lurk in the background but are still irrevocably tied to the job.

“We can’t help ourselves and wonder whatever next?”

The Reign exhibition will open to the public at Burlington House in Mayfair, central London between June 28 and July 5.

The exhibition is being held in celebration of the 150 year anniversary of the Society of Antiquaries at Burlington House. The pictures being auctioned off to support the cataloguing and digitisation of around 25,000 prints and drawings from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Huge blow to Prince Harry as petition launched after ‘incredibly hurtful’ decision

Prince Harry has been nominated for the Pat Tillman Award, a decision which has not gone down well with everyone.

A petition has been set up to prevent Prince Harry being awarded the Pat Tillman Award for Service at a ceremony in Hollywood next month over concerns he is not a “suitable” candidate.

Pat Tillman was an American NFL player who then enlisted in the US Army in 2002, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan before he was killed by friendly fire in 2004.

The award was set up in his name to honour “given to a person with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that echoes the legacy” of Mr Tillman.

The Duke of Sussex being honoured in such a way has not gone down so well in the US, where Harry now lives with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Pat Tillman’s mother Mary criticised the decision to award Harry, saying: “I am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award.

But this explanation has not stopped a petition being launched urging ESPN to rethink their decision, as it claims Harry has been “involved in controversies that call into question his suitability to receive an honour of this magnitude”.

The petition also said “awarding this honour to someone who does not reflect the award’s intent diminishes its value and disrespects Tillman’s memory.”

A inside source told GB News: “It’s incredibly hurtful that the family had no say in this. Pat Tillman was a unifying force for good. Harry is divisive… There are many unsung heroes who are far more deserving.”

  • Prince Harry’s latest move shows he has ‘no wish to patch things up’ with Royal Family

Prince Harry’s latest move shows he has ‘no wish to patch things up’ with Royal Family

Prince Harry may be back in the UK soon, but one expert claims this will not spell the end of his rift with the Royal Family.

Prince Harry’s potential trip to the UK to patch things up with the Royal Family has been questioned by a royal expert, as a number of recent opportunities have been missed.

The Duke of Sussex travelled to the UK in May for the 10th anniversary commemorative service for the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral, but did not stay at a royal residence while he was in London and did not see any family members from his father’s side.

He also chose not to attend his close friend Hugh Grosvenor’s wedding to Olivia Henson and was once again not invited to Trooping the Colour on June 15.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond explained to OK! magazine that if Harry really were so desperate to make things right with the royals, he would have set aside time to do so.

She said: “If Harry had really wanted to confront his family and patch things up, he would surely have allotted more time to his recent visits so that his father – at least – could make arrangements to see him.”

Ms Bond said of Harry’s possible reunion with his older brother, Prince William: “I don’t think there’s any chance of William wanting to do so, particularly with all he has on his plate right now.

“So, I’ll believe this when I see it, but it will be lovely if he could indeed spend some time, perhaps at Balmoral, during the summer and make peace with his father.”

Her comments come after a source disclosed to Closer magazine that the Duke was left feeling “upset and emotional” after seeing footage of his family gathered to celebrate the King’s official birthday at Trooping.

Harry once again missed out on Trooping the Colour (Image: Getty)

The source revealed: “He can’t believe it’s come to this, and he’s now saying he’s going to fly over and force them to face him. He’s still a prince, after all; they’re still his family, and whether they like it or not, he’s refusing to just be cast aside.

“He continues to be heartbroken and confused by the way he’s being treated by the royals. It’s as though he doesn’t exist anymore.”

One lost relationship that Harry seems to be missing greatly is the one with his sister-in-law, Princess Kate, as the pair once had a close bond.

The insider added: “He continues to be heartbroken and confused by the way he’s being treated by the royals. He’s not getting updates on his father or Kate’s health, and even basic communications are pretty well non-existent.”

Harry did fly over to London back in February to see the King after learning he had been diagnosed with cancer, but they only met for a short time and he travelled back to California the next day.

Harry and Meghan sent a message of support to Kate when her own cancer news broke, but they have now not seen each other for some time.
