Prince Harry has been ‘dumping’ on Royal Family and ‘violating their privacy’, claims outspoken Lady Colin Campbell

PRINCE Harry has been “dumping” on the Royal Family and “violating their privacy”, says a royal commentator.

Outspoken Lady Colin Campbell slammed the Duke of Sussex, 36, for the string of bombshell claims he has made in recent months about his family in Britain.

Harry and Meghan Markle, who now live in California, have made a number of media appearances where they have discussed how unhappy they were as royals.

Lady C, who is a frequent critic of the couple, told the Daily Star: “He’s [Harry is] busy violating at every turn – not only his privacy, but the privacy of his loved ones.

“What he is doing is called ‘dumping’. In psychological terms it’s called ‘dumping’. He is ‘dumping’ on everybody.”

She added: “He has dumped on various members of his family in a totally unacceptable way.”

In the Oprah Winfrey interview that aired in March, Meghan and Harry dropped dramatic allegations against their family.

Meghan claimed that Archie wasn’t allowed to be a prince after there were “concerns and conversations” about “how dark” his skin would be after he was born.

But the 39-year-old declined to say who had started those conversations, saying it would be “damaging” for them.

Archie was not entitled to be a prince because of rules set down by King George V.

Prince Harry said he would “never share” the full details of the discussion but that he was asked at the start of his relationship with Meghan how dark the skin of their children might be.

Oprah revealed it was not the Queen or the Duke of Edinburgh who made the comment about Archie’s skin.

Meghan also said that when she was suffering with suicidal thoughts, the family didn’t allow her to get help.

The couple claimed that Kate Middleton made Meghan cry in a row over a flower girl dress.

Prince Harry also spoke out about how he felt ‘trapped’ in the family and that he and his father weren’t speaking.

Meanwhile in Harry’s chat on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, he also claimed he wanted to “break the cycle” of “genetic pain” that occurs in the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are now living in a £11million mansion in Santa Barbara, California, and have signed multi-million dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify.

Lady Colin, who penned the book Meghan and Harry: The Real Story, has previously said Harry should give up his royal title.

She thinks the couple could “sell their brand” without titles and giving them up “would be the right thing to do”.

Lady C also slammed Prince Harry’s televised therapy session in his mental health series with Oprah, The Me You Can’t See, and said it was as “inappropriate as having sexual intercourse on television”.

PRINCE Harry is a former military man. He understands about Queen and Country and has sworn allegiance to his sovereign.

Why then does he continue to stab the institution the Queen represents in the back?

He does not appear to grasp that the Queen and the firm are basically the same thing.

If he slates the institution his grandmother represents and has stood for almost 70 years of her life, he is offending her too.

When the Duke of Edinburgh was alive, he spent his time protecting the institution of the monarchy because to him the institution and his wife were the same thing.

When one of his friends asked him what he thought of the problems the monarchy had been through during the annus horribilis of 1992 he said some members of his family had successfully undone all the good work he had put in over the past 40 years.

He’s always said his job first, second and third was protecting the Queen and anyone that criticised the monarchy was criticising her too.

As Head of State and Head of the Commonwealth the Queen and the Monarchy are one and the same thing.

We can only imagine how Prince Philip must have felt about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stabbing ‘the firm’ in the back when they voiced their opinions to Oprah Winfrey on how toxic life within the royal family was.

While Harry waxes lyrical about how much he loves and respects his grandmother the Queen, his American PR machine then makes sure they let us know every time he speaks to her and confirmed how he told her he wanted to use the nickname Lilibet for her new grandchild.

The Queen famously dislikes any kind of emotional confrontation.

She was not brought up to deal with it and since the age of 26 when she ascended the throne, she has always allowed members of her personal staff to deal with contentious issues.

Fergie and Andrew complained about this when it took a couple of months to actually get the Queen to listen to their marital problems.

When Diana used to tearfully approach her with a litany of woes, the monarch would leave the distraught Princess in the Page’s vestibule next door to the Queen’s private sitting room to calm down, before facing the inevitable drama.

Meghan and Harry blamed the Queen’s staff for blocking face to face meetings with her before they made their exit from the UK.

But it seemed they failed to understand that is what courtiers do and have done for centuries.

They are there to protect the Monarch from any unwanted intrusion into her working day.

The Queen and her grandson have not always had a close relationship. When Harry was young his royal grandparents seldom saw him except in the Balmoral holidays.

But like everyone else they enjoyed his captivating company and was pleased when he found love.

Of course, the Queen wants Harry to be happy, but I feel certain what does not please her is his American style of suing every time things go wrong.

Far more stylish to keep quiet and start making amends with the people you have loved and upset.

I’m A Celeb’s Lady C calls in ghost hunters to her gothic castle for new reality show with Corrie star

LADY Colin Campbell has called in ghost hunters to her gothic castle – and the whole thing has been filmed for a new reality show.

The I’m A Celeb legend, better known as Lady C, 73, has invited cameras to follow her as she tries to rid her spooky home of the spirits she is convinced are haunting it.

The creepy antics will play out in the new series of Discovery’s Celebrity Help! My House is Haunted.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Producers are over the moon that they’ve booked Lady C – she makes great telly and her sprawling castle home is the ideal setting for a spooky ghost hunt.

“She filmed her episode recently and it was pretty scary stuff – her house was built in the 1700s and used to be home to author Mary Shelley, who wrote Frankenstein.

“It feels creepy the moment you walk in. It’s definitely haunted. Lady C is convinced there are female spirits stalking her guests – she wants to get to the bottom of who she’s sharing her home with.”

Castle Goring is a Grade I listed country house in Worthing, West Sussex.

The series will see ghost hunter and investigator Barri Ghai; psychic medium Ian Lawman and paranormal researcher and historian Jayne Harris traveling to the historic pad to try and get to the bottom of things that go bump in the night.

The source added: “The team will be employing brand new, state-of-the-art equipment with ancient spiritual techniques never before documented on TV.”

In the past, Lady C has charged visitors to her home £52 a pop to take a ghost hunt around the property.

The Royal biographer promised “glass divination, table tipping and a group human pendulum experiment” as part of the chilling experience.

Celebrity Help! My House is Haunted sees a different famous face invite cameras into their possessed pad in each episode.

The first series, which aired in February this year, saw the likes of Charlotte Crosby, Alex Best and Frankie Essex take part.

As The Sun previously revealed, the upcoming second series will also feature Coronation Street actor Simon Gregson, who has invited paranormal investigators into his Cheshire mansion.

Insiders said Simon, 48, was certain there was a spirit inside his home in Cheshire and that he wanted to explore it further.

A source said: “Simon is really into the paranormal and he thinks there could be a presence inside his house.

“He wanted to call in a specialist team to look into it.

“Simon has managed to get two birds with one stone though, as Discovery heard about his interest and invited him onto the show.”

Simon, who has worked on Coronation Street for three decades, previously said he believed he had been haunted before.

The married dad-of-three said: “I love all the supernatural stuff.

“I think, to be honest with you, the reason for it is because it’d be so nice if there was something else afterwards.

Over the years the show has seen a fair few disagreements, all erupting on screens for our viewing pleasure.

Here we look back at some of the biggest confrontations in I’m A Celeb’s 20-year history.

    Katie Price vs Johnny Rotten

Katie Price, 43, clashed with the 65-year-old Sex Pistols star Johnny Rotten back in 2004.

The pair took an instant dislike to one another, making things awkward for the rest of their campmates.

Earlier this year Katie branded him “a nasty piece of work”, adding: “I witnessed it in the jungle.”

Jonny, whose real name is John Lydon, was known for his explicit rants and famously attacked Katie for using the camp’s drinking water supply to wash her hair.

Speaking in the Bush Telegraph he described her as “f*****g talentless”.

He raged: “I’m not here to support a Page 3 f*****g blow up balloon. Right? I f*****g ain’t. No f*****g more. B****s to you. I’ve had enough of this s**t.”

He wasn’t the only celebrity that had a problem with Katie in the jungle. The model also clashed with TV personality Kim Woodburn, 79, when she reappeared on the show for her second stint in 2009.

    Gemma Collins vs the show

Gemma did not enjoy her time in the jungle
    12

Gemma did not enjoy her time in the jungle
Gemma made TV gold when she joined the ITV reality series in November 2014, but she quit after just 72 hours in the Aussie outback.

From the moment she went up in the air in the helicopter, the former TOWIE star didn’t stop complaining.

Just moments after stepping foot in the chopper, she pleaded: “Can you stop a minute, please, I’m serious, just stop, I need to get out, seriously I’m going to be sick, I can’t do it, no way.”

Once out of the helicopter, she explained: “I got into the chopper and suddenly felt very scared but thought I can’t show anyone I’m scared, but I cried like a baby and I don’t think I’m going to be able to do this jungle lark.”

After moaning about the lack of food and her yellow poo, and claiming she had malaria, the GC quit after just three days.

On one occasion in camp she raged: “People who murder get treated better than this. That’s the truth. Even a murderer gets fed three times a day.”

    Janice Dickinson vs Lynne Franks

    12

Glamour model Janice and PR guru Lynne had arguably the most memorable spats of the show’s history.

The two women argued pretty much non-stop from day one in the 2007 series.

Their rows began cooking their first dinner as they clashed about how to prepare the food.

After Lynne, 73, made a few sly digs at Janice, 66, the former America’s top model judge told her to “knock off the remarks”.

Lynne replied bluntly: “I don’t give a s**t,” reaffirming her point by repeating this seconds later.

Janice then branded her as a “freak’ and a “shrew”, before going off on a bizarre tirade later that night.

She ranted: “I’m going to stab her in the middle of the night and take her [bed]. You think I’m kidding? I’ll eat her t**s. I’ll fry up those big old boobs.”

Surely one of the most iconic lines of all time…

    Janet Street-Porter vs Brian Harvey

Perhaps one of the show’s pettiest fights took place between broadcaster Janet Street-Porter and singer Brian Harvey.

It led to the E-17 member leaving the show – and the subject of the row? Farting.

On day 7 of the 2004 series, Janet, 74, berated Brian for breaking wind near to where she was making dinner.

The outburst caused Brian to fly off the handle, saying: “You’re cooking dinner! You’re f*****g over there, I’m over there. Don’t keep f*****g having a go at me about farting!

“Just because you think it’s wrong doesn’t mean everyone else thinks it’s wrong. I’m farting because I need to f*****g fart, because all I’ve eaten is f*****g beans!

“I take it very personal because you know that there’s 16 million people watching!”

The eruption led to the 47-year-old boyband member packing his bags, citing that he was sick of being “treated like a kid” in front of viewers.

    Kendra Wilkinson vs Edwina Currie

    12

What started as an innocent conversation about philosophy quickly escalated into a heated argument, with many choice words being exchanged between the former Tory minister and Playboy model back in 2014.

Kendra, talking to her fellow campmates, claimed that “you should never live your life for anyone…EVER” – something which Edwina, 75, disagreed with, to put it mildly.

As the situation progressed and tempers flared, US personality Kendra lashed out: “Shut the f*** up and get the f*** out of our conversation.”

She then branded Edwina a “heartless a*** politician”.

Edwina, not backing down, hit back: “Kendra you can’t dominate me, so don’t even try.”

Now 36, Kendra ended up having to be restrained by her fellow campmates.

    Lady Colin Campbell vs Everyone

Fans were eager to see how the author and socialite would manage in the jungle in the 2015 series – and boy were they not disappointed.

Lady Colin Campbell clashed with campmates in what seemed like every episode, alienating half the camp.

The 72-year-old came out with some of the most outrageous (and hillarious) insults of the show’s history, leaving audiences reeling.

She branded 61-year-old singer Tony Hadley “a fat slob”, adding on another occasion that he “doesn’t have a brain in his head. The crap that comes out of his mouth makes no sense whatsoever.”

Clashing with US choreographer Brian Friedman, 44, after he called her “rude”, she said: “Who the hell are you to speak about talking my dear?

“You have verbal diarrhoea, not only do you have verbal diarrhoea, you are so full of s**t that if you ever took an enema you would disappear off the face of the earth without trace.”

Lady C also grappled with Duncan Bannatyne, 72, of Dragon’s Den. On one occasion she lost it, ranting: “You are… a chippy oik with the brains of a pea and the mouth of diarrhoea.” Charming.

Other outbursts included calling Yvette Fielding a “tart” and telling Chris Eubank to “F*** off”. Not very ladylike, it must be said.

David Van Day vs Nicola Mclean

'Inappropriate' David tried it on with Nicola
    12

‘Inappropriate’ David tried it on with NicolaCredit: Rex
Another pair who squabbled pretty much endlessly were singer-songwriter David Van Day and model Nicola Mclean in 2008.

Nicola, now 40, had it out for the 64-year-old from the start, describing him on Instagram last year as her least favourite campmate.

She said: “He was an absolute t***. Literally his sole purpose was to p*** everyone off.”

On the show, Nicola is caught telling him to “go into a cave and cry because you’re afraid of the dark”, calling him a “snake” as she was voted off.

More recently she has also accused him of “sexually inappropriate” behaviour.

“I was washing a car but he thought it was appropriate to spank my bum and try to kiss me,” she claimed.

“His behaviour was very strange and made me feel so uncomfortable. I’d gone from arguing non-stop with this man who was old enough to be my father – to have his hands on my body when I was wearing my bikini.

    “It was very sexually inappropriate.”

    Scott Henshall vs Phina Oruche

Phina and Scott having a scrap
    12

All of the attacks so far have been purely verbal, but this is one of the few occasions on the show where there’s been a full blown scrap.

In a 2006 boys versus girls style challenge, Scott and his team were competing against Phina’s, each trying to access a locked box.

Having fallen behind, fashion designer Scott acted rather childishly by sitting on the box, blocking Phina of Footballers Wives from getting to it.

It didn’t excuse what happened next however, as the 49-year-old leapt on him, scratching him and even sinking her teeth in.

The Fashion Designer, now 46, later described her as “psychotic”, adding: “She was acting like a wild animal. If a spider bites me, that’s fine. But if another contestant sinks their teeth in, I think that’s overstepping the mark.”

Despite her actions, Phina appeared to regret what she’d done, later admitting it was “a career low”.

    Matthew Wright versus Alfonso Ribiero

    Alfonso was fuming
    12

Now 50, Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Alfonso fell out with presenter Matthew Wright in the 2013 edition of the show. One of the more fastidious feuds, it was an argument about grammar of all things.

After being corrected by Matthew about him confusing the words “minimum” and “maximum”, Alfonso went off at him.

“Matthew, enough!” he said. “Enough! Okay, enough! I’ve had enough of your f*****g s**t. I’m done with you talking about it.”

Matthew, now 56, said that it was “a completely unnecessary outburst” but Alfonso went on: “I’ve had enough of his a**. I’m done with him saying every time I say something, ‘No you are wrong, I’m right, you are wrong’.

“Well, no, you are f*****g not! I will take respect in a debate rather than, ‘You are f*****g wrong’.”

The two eventually made up, but that didn’t stop fellow star David Emanuel from painting them as “two drama queens”, saying: “It’s an emotional rollercoaster here, they haven’t been seeing eye to eye for some time, but today it erupted into a real showbiz bitch!”

    Rebekah Vardy vs Iain Lee

Rebekah wasn't the biggest fan of her campmate Iain
    12

WAG Rebekah Vardy, 39, was accused of “bullying” 48-year-old comedian Iain Lee.

Wife of Leicester City hitman Jamie Vardy, Rebekah said that Iain was “fake” and accused him of “playing the sympathy card” during their jungle stint in 2017.

She was also spotted sharing handshakes with her fellow campmates as Iain was voted out.

When quizzed on her behaviour, she insisted she’d done nothing wrong claiming that she was no “ringleader”.

    Shaun Ryder vs Gillian McKeith

Gillian clashed with Shaun on the show
    12

Another entertaining encounter was in 2010, where Happy Mondays star Shaun Ryder lost it at 62-year-old celebrity nutritionist Gillian McKeith.

In one Bushtucker Trial, where the Scottish presenter was screaming and complaining, the 59-year-old frontman snapped, branding her “a f*****g irritating woman.”

Gillian condemned the comment, saying the way he speaks to people is “disgusting”, but Shaun wasn’t having any of it.

He hit back: “You say the nasty things all the time… your tone, everything. The way you speak to everyone.”

After the confrontation, Shaun did admit his mouth was “horrible”, but added: “She’s just rude and she’s said some rude things to the girls. It’s all right for her to say things, put people down or talk to them like s***, which she does.

“Yet you give it to her and she can’t take it.”

The pair set up sussex.com this week using their Sussex titles in what has been branded “a betrayal” of their Megxit agreement.

Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, quit their royal duties back in 2020 amid simmering tensions between them and other family members.

It emerged last week they had rebranded their Archewell site which now redirects to their new one.

Now, Lady Colin Campbell has revealed she has bought the domain names dukeandduchessofsussex.co.uk and officialsussex.com.

And the 74-year-old has accused the couple of hijacking the county’s name for their own purposes.

The Royal biographer, who lives in a castle in Goring, West Sussex, says she will only hand it over if Harry and Meghan axe their website.

She said: “It is not only an imposition to the people of Sussex but is also an impertinence, in that their website has nothing to do with the county, but the domain name gives the misleading impression that it does.

“The geographic assignment of their title might share a name with the county, but they are not representatives of the county, nor do many of its residents share their values.

Prince Harry says he has considered becoming an American citizen
“In fact, many deplore what they represent, and it would surely have been more appropriate for them to have had a domain name along the lines of dukeandduchessofsussex.co.uk.”

It comes as The Sun on Sunday revealed Prince Harry was “blocked” from joining the King at Sandringham during his visit to the UK.

Palace aides feared “they’d never get rid of him” after Harry jetted over 5,000 miles from California to be with his cancer-stricken dad.

Charles, 75, is staying at the 20,000 acre East Anglian estate as he undergoes treatment for cancer.

The 39-year-old planned for a long heart-to-heart with the King but got 45 minutes.

Just six minutes after Harry left the meeting, the King and Queen made their way by Bentley to a helicopter in the Buckingham Palace gardens before flying to Sandringham.

Harry – having hoped to join the King for a few days at Sandringham – was instead forced into a hotel for the night.

He flew back to wife Meghan, 42, and their two kids in California after spending just 26 hours in the UK.

    ‘I LOVE MY FAMILY’

The Duke was joined by Meghan for three days this week in Whistler and Vancouver to promote next year’s Games.

In an interview on Friday with Good Morning America, Harry discussed his dad’s health, family life and even American citizenship.

Harry told Good Morning America “I love my family” and then described how “illness can have a reunifying effect”.

Speaking at the Winter Invictus Games’ One Year to Go event in Whistler, Canada, the Duke added: “Throughout all these families, I see it all on a day to day basis.

“The strength of the family unit coming together.”

He also revealed how kids Archie, four, and Lilibet, two, have “incredible” senses of humour.

Harry added: “The kids are doing great. The kids are growing up like all kids do very very fast.

“They both got an incredible sense of humour and make us laugh and keep us grounded every single day like most kids do. I am just very grateful to be a dad.”

He even revealed he had considered applying for American citizenship but stressed it was “not a high priority”.

On Friday, singer Michael Bublé serenaded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – with the singer hailing the Duke a “visionary”.

The Canadian crooner, 48, re-worded Frank Sinatra’s epic “My Way” in a nod to Harry at a gala dinner to close the Invictus Games’ “One Year To Go” event.

Bublé also expressed “healing wishes for your dad” in tribute to cancer-stricken King Charles.

Harry and Meghan are thought to be travelling home to Montecito, California, this weekend.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle LIVE: Duchess ‘will never allow’ Duke to apologise to Firm

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been effectively estranged from the Royal Family since they stepped down from their roles and moved to North America in 2020.

In startling claims on the state of relations between Prince Harry and his family, a royal insider has claimed Meghan Markle could be blocking reconciliation efforts.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship with the Royal Family has been frosty since before they announced plans to quit their roles, as they detailed in several interviews and Harry’s book Spare.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold suggested earlier this week that the Firm might agree on burying the hatched if the Duke agreed to apologise for the cutting remarks he made in his autobiography.

But speaking to Sky News Australia, commentator Dee Dee Dunleavy claimed: “(Harry) is not going to apologise, at least not while he is still with Meghan.

“I really do believe he does her bidding and she is never going to allow him to apologise to the family.”

Meghan Markle accused of using royal title to woo Hollywood elites like George Clooney

Meghan Markle, who still clings to her royal title even after saying goodbye to the Firm alongside her husband Prince Harry in 2020, has been accused of using the royalty to impress US stars like George Clooney.

The former Suits actress, who became the Duchess of Sussex after marrying Harry in 2018, has allegedly used her royal title to “woo Hollywood elites’, according to a royal expert.

Meghan had no intention of remaining in the UK after becoming Harry’s wife, according to royal biographer Tom Bower.

“She never intended to stay in England. She always intended to go back to California, and it has served her very well,” the expert told Express US.

Bower went on: “She’s been very successful. And instead of seeing her for what she is, a ruthless adventuress, all this talk constantly of trying to patch things up with the family is ridiculous.”

Meghan saw her royalty as an avenue through which she could “woo Hollywood elites”, claimed the author of “Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors”.

“That’s what the guest list at Windsor showed. All his friends were excluded and all her Hollywood contacts were included, like Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney and all her agents. Everyone was there to help her career,” He said.

George Clooney slams ‘frustrating’ coverage of Meghan Markle, compares it to treatment of Princess Diana

Sarah Ferguson calls for end of toxic social media trolling pitting Kate and Meghan

The Duchess of York compared the reported feud to her relationship with Princess Diana.

Actor, businessman and activist George Clooney has seen enough.

Speaking on a panel for his new show, “Catch-22,” he took time out Monday to comment on the “frustrating” media coverage he’s witness lately with Meghan Markle, the now Duchess of Sussex.

When asked about him being godfather to her upcoming child, Clooney denied the report, but added, “She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that [Princess] Diana was, and it’s history repeating itself,” according to the Associated Press, who was at the Television Critics Association panel on Monday.

Clooney, who did attend Markel’s wedding to Prince Harry last year with his wife Amal, was referring to Diana’s death in 1997 after she was being pursued by paparazzi and her car was trying to evade them.

Clooney added about Diana’s death and the now coverage of Markle, “we’ve seen how that ends.”

She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that (Princess) Diana was, and it’s history repeating itself.

“I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to see that,” he added, according to E! News and other outlets at the panel. “She’s getting a raw deal there. It’s irresponsible.”

Clooney’s comments come after British tabloids have labeled Markle “Duchess Difficult,” several also reporting on a private letter from her to her estranged father, as well.

The actor added about being godfather to her baby, “No, I’m now a father of twins, I’ve got enough.”

Clooney is not the only public figure to speak out about what’s happening.

Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson also weighed in, sharing similar sentiments of concern, though not directly connecting the online bullying to the Duchess of Sussex and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. Ferguson wrote a candid letter in Hello! magazine on Monday, taking aim at what she calls the “sewer” of social media.

“It’s time to confront head on the fact that much of social media has become a sewer,” she wrote. “Women, in particular, are constantly pitted against and compared with each other in a way that reminds me of how people tried to portray Diana and me all the time as rivals, which is something neither of us ever really felt.”

Certainly there are parallels between the relationship that Kate and Meghan have and Diana and Fergie had.

“She absolutely is referring to the treatment of Meghan and Kate,” royal contributor Imogen Lloyd Webber told “GMA.” “Certainly there are parallels between the relationship that Kate and Meghan have and Diana and Fergie had.”

Also, a handful of Markle’s closest friends spoke out to People magazine recently about the “global bullying.”

“We worry about what this is doing to her and the baby,” a former co-star of Markle’s said. ”It’s wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they’re pregnant.”

George Clooney is standing up for Meghan Markle, saying the press has been “a little unjust” with its treatment of the duchess in the royal spotlight, even though she “hadn’t done anything except just happen to live her life.”

The actor made his comments during an appearance on Good Morning Britain this morning, according to People. “I think it’s a little unfair at times,” he said in the interview. “I’ve seen it when the press can turn on you for sort of ridiculous reasons and for almost nothing, and it seemed to me to be a little unjust since [Meghan] hadn’t done anything except just happen to live her life.”

He later added, “Most of it you can just shrug off and not pay attention to, but sometimes it’s unkind.”

Clooney and his wife, Amal, are known to be close friends with Meghan and Prince Harry. They attended their royal wedding last may, hosted the couple at their home at Lake Como, and Amal even attended Meghan’s the private baby shower in New York City last month.

The actor also called the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a “really wonderful, loving couple” and praised Meghan as a “really kind and smart and intelligent young woman” during his Good Morning Britain sit-down.

Although royals don’t usually respond to rumors or tabloid reports about themselves (Meghan has even said she’s stayed away from Twitter), it seems their friends are doing that job for them. In early February, an anonymous group of Meghan’s close friends publicly denounced the “global bullying” against the duchess.

Clooney previously defended Meghan last month, saying she’s being chased like the late Princess Diana was. “She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and its history repeating itself,” the actor had told Australia’s Who magazine. “We’ve seen how that ends.”

Queen Elizabeth II’ reveals what she advised Meghan Markle before entering into her marriage with Harry

Meghan turned down Queen’s suggestion that she take advice from Sophie, Countess of Wessex saying ‘I’ve got Harry’, new book reveals

The Duchess of Sussex dismissed the Queen’s advice before her marriage to Prince Harry, according to a bombshell new book serialised in the Daily Mail.

Her late Majesty had recommended that Meghan, then the fiancee of her grandson, ask her daughter-in-law, Sophie, now the Duchess of Edinburgh, for help before her wedding day.

Sophie Rhys-Jones, 58, married Prince Edward in a lavish ceremony at St George’s Chapel in 1999 and has weathered her own share of scandals – but became a ‘second daughter’ to Queen Elizabeth II and is now a trusted senior royal.

But Meghan offered only a curt reply to the monarch, saying: ‘I’ve got Harry.’

The revelation comes in Robert Jobson’s new book Our King: Charles III — The Man And The Monarch Revealed – with part two being published in this weekend’s Mail on Sunday.

Prince Edward was promoted to Duke of Edinburgh to mark his 59th birthday, meaning that Sophie is now a Duchess too. The former Countess of Wessex had previously been duty-bound to defer to Prince Harry’s wife (pictured together in 2019) who, as a Duchess, was of a higher rank

The Queen had been determined that Harry and Meghan’s marriage would be off to a good start and offered the Duchess the help of one of her most trusted aides in Sophie.

She had undoubtedly expected her kind offer to be met with gratitude and was surprised to be rejected by the American actress, who believed that the help of her husband would be enough.

Queen Elizabeth II believed strongly that Meghan – a divorced, mixed-race American actress – would be a a breath of fresh air and a great asset to the monarchy.

And while things started positively, after the royal couple stepped back from duties at the beginning of 2020, their relationship with the rest of the family began to disintegrate.

The Duchess of Edinburgh, who was recently elevated, became a mainstay of the Queen’s household after the death of Prince Philip.

It was said after she was granted her new rank, alongside her husband, Prince Edward, who inherited his fathers’s title, that the new Duchess was ‘relieved’ she would no longer have to curtsey to Meghan.

Sophie had previously been duty-bound to defer to Prince Harry’s wife who, as a Duchess, was of a higher rank.

‘FIRST MEMBER OF ROYAL FAMILY TO VISIT AFTER THE BIRTH OF ARCHIE’

Sophie was the first member of the Royal Family to visit the Sussexes following the birth of their son Prince Archie in 2019, going to the couple’s Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, according to Valentine Low, writing in The Times.

A source told the outlet that Sophie is ‘normal’ and has empathy that perhaps others in the Firm ‘don’t naturally have’.

They said: ‘She did the right thing. She got in the car and went over. She has got the empathy and warmth that maybe people who grew up in that family don’t naturally have.

‘Normal people would think: this is what you do. You go; you make sure the new mum is OK and see the baby.’

A friend of the couple said: ‘Sophie is relieved. She no longer has to curtsey to someone in the family who has not only left Royal duties but has spent the past three years criticising the institution that Sophie works so hard to support.’

Mother-of-two Meghan, 41, explained the intricacies of curtseying in her recent Netflix docuseries.

The Sussexes revealed that before a meeting with the late Queen, Harry asked Meghan: ‘You know how to curtsey, right?’

Meghan told the cameras: ‘I just thought it was a joke,’ before re-enacting the exaggerated curtsey she gave Queen Elizabeth II and laughing.

It is, however, a tradition that the Royal Family takes seriously. Princess Anne was seen giving a poignant curtsey to her mother’s coffin as it entered the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland.

Experts previously noted the Countess being in the spotlight is what Prince Philip ‘would have wanted’ and helped to ‘keep his memory alive.’

At a service for her mother-in-law near Balmoral the Countess of Wessex was seen teary-eyed while kneeling to admire tributes – showing the depth of their relationship which had progressed to the point where the she was said to be treated as a ‘second daughter’ by the Queen.

The Queen cared for Sophie in 2005 after her mother, Mary Rhys-Jones, 77, died from stomach cancer.

Prince Edward’s and Sophie’s house, Bagshot Park, is only a short trip from Windsor, meaning the Queen’s youngest son and his family would regularly visit.

Walking their dogs together was a favourite past-time of the pair. They also shared a love of military history, spending hours poring over ancient documents in the Royal Archives at Windsor, where Sophie and her mother-in-law indulged in their shared hobby, researching military history.

Even if she was unable to see the Queen in person – Sophie would always make sure to call ‘mama’ every day – and she was the first royal to speak about Prince Philip’s death.

And in 2021, a tearful Countess described the queen as ‘amazing’ as she and her husband Prince Edward comforted Her Majesty at Windsor Castle following the death of her husband Prince Philip.

She has also become a source of advice for the new Princess of Wales, who admires the way Sophie balances her royal duties with motherhood.
