The Duchess of Sussex is said to be missing “some aspects” of life in the UK while still remaining “furious at the way she was treated” – but also harbours concerns that her children may blame her for their absence from the country, according to royal author and expert Tom Quinn.

Meghan, who stepped back from Royal duties with Prince Harry in 2020 and relocated to Montecito, California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, is reportedly still angry about her experience during her time as part of the Royal family in Britain.

But the former Suits star’s distance from the UK and the Royal Family has led to her worries that her children might grow to resent her for their lack of relationship with their paternal grandparents and cousins.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Mr Quinn claimed: “On the other hand, we should always remember that phrase – ‘never say never,’ because it will come back to haunt you when you change your mind, especially if you are a public figure like Meghan. A friend of the couple – one of Meghan’s few aristocratic friends from her time in the UK – told me Meghan does miss some aspects of life in the UK and worries that her children will blame her if they never get to see their cousins and feel as adults that they have been deprived of what might have been a fun and meaningful existence in the UK as working royals.”

However, Mr Quinn added: “It will be a long time before Meghan reappears in the UK. She has already publicly stated that she will not return to the UK, and her friends insist she is still furious at the way she feels she was treated during her time in Britain.”

 

Prince William is reportedly already planning for his future reign as king, and it seems that those plans don’t involve his estranged brother Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The two brothers have been locked in a bitter feud for several years now.

One of the major points of contention between them was the publication of Harry’s explosive memoir, Spare, in which he claimed that William physically attacked him during a heated argument at Kensington Palace. Harry and Meghan have since stepped back from their royal roles and now live in California, pursuing projects with Netflix.

If Prince William’s plan for Harry and Meghan is anything like his plan to end homelessness or his plan to make the Middle East his ‘lifelong mission’ (whatever the that means), the Sussexes needn’t be concerned. The #PrinceOfPegging has no work ethic. Never has, never will.

A source revealed that William doesn’t see a future for the Sussexes in the Royal Family. The feeling is that allowing them back into the fold would be a bad move, and they should be resigned to the fringes indefinitely.

Despite the ongoing feud, the Royal Family recently put on a united front. King Charles, the Queen, William, and Kate attended a dazzling reception at Buckingham Palace, marking the start of the festive season.

Royal aides emphasized that it was “business as usual” for the family, despite a recent controversy regarding conversations about the color of Harry and Meghan’s son Archie’s skin.

Loose Women’s head honcho Charlene White sparked concern among viewers about her future on the popular chat show after receiving a live on-air warning for tardiness.

The panel, featuring Brenda Edwards, Coleen Nolan, and EastEnders icon Natalie Cassidy, were in the midst of a lively debate about punctuality when Natalie admitted to being an early riser. Charlene opened the discussion with a quip: “First Natalie, apparently, was early for our morning meeting today. I say ‘apparently’ because I was late! But you’re always on time for everything, right?”

Natalie’s admission, “On time for me is early,” elicited laughter from the audience and her co-stars, but Coleen Nolan didn’t hold back, chiding: “If you’re late for work, for me, that’s really unprofessional.”

Despite Charlene’s protests that her lateness was beyond her control, Coleen issued a stern caution: “Well I’m going to take a note. That’s your first warning, live on-air.” A visibly anxious Charlene responded with a nervous chuckle: “Three strikes and I’m out?”

However, Charlene wasn’t the only one feeling the heat; she later jokingly reprimanded Brenda for her incessant giggling during a segment about Brenda’s “mystery man”, threatening to ban her from the show if she didn’t compose herself, though quickly adding, “I’m actually gonna ban Brenda from this programme if she doesn’t stop giggling. I love you though.”

It turned out Brenda’s man wasn’t even real she’d “manifested” him to attract a genuine Mr. Right into her life. Brenda insisted that decent blokes only seem to pop up when she’s taken, so she’s conjured up an imaginary beau for the time being.

“I’m going to end it there, because I really don’t know where else I can go with that one,” Charlene quipped, wrapping up the segment on the ITV daytime show rather abruptly.

In another part of the programme, Natalie was eager to share the pearls of wisdom the late Dame Barbara Windsor imparted during their time on EastEnders. However, the mood shifted when Charlene accidentally spilled the beans on a “private” conversation they had backstage.

Charlene remarked: “She could be tough with you without saying a word. Like, if you’d had a night out when you were working the next day?” Natalie retorted: “Thank you for that! It was a private conversation in the green room! But I remember going out with H from Steps one night – it was early 2000s, maybe very late 90s.”

“I came into work and it was in the days when EastEnders stars were on the front of papers, it was a big thing back then. I remember walking in and me and H from Steps were on the front of The Sun. I remember walking past and seeing Barbara with a paper. I was like, ‘I have been out but I am on time! ‘ but I don’t think I ever did it again!”

 

For Sophie, 57, the Queen’s death means not only a step up in the royal hierarchy, but the sudden absence of the maternal figure with whom she spoke most mornings.

The suddenness of the sovereign’s death has hit Sophie hard. Her friend says she, along with the rest of the family, “thought they had plenty of time left”.

They “fully expected” to see the Queen at Windsor, where she was expected to return as normal in October.

Windsor formed the bedrock of Sophie’s relationship with the Queen.

Most Saturday afternoons Sophie would drive the 10 miles from her home at Bagshot Park to the castle, where the Queen would be waiting for a good catch-up over tea.

Denise Welch has shared some pre-wedding details after travelling to California to spend some time with her son Matty Healy’s fiancée’s family.

The TV star, 66, who is a proud mum to 1975 singer Matty, 35, spoke about her trip on Wednesday’s Loose Women. Matty proposed to Gabbriette Bechtel last month and Denise flew out to the US to meet and spend some time with her future daughter-in-law’s loved ones last month.

Speaking on Wednesday’s Loose Women, Denise’s co-star, Kaye Adams, said: “Now, Denise, you spoke a couple of weeks ago about your son Matty’s engagement to his fiancée Gabby. Very exciting, of course, you’ve been doing some pre-wedding schmoozing with the in-laws!”

Denise then explained: “We went over to LA to see Matty and Gabby and celebrate the engagement. Gabby is so busy modelling and she’s very hot right now, which is fabulous, so she couldn’t join us. So we went up to see her mum and dad, who we had met once before, Chayo and Gary, we absolutely adore them!”

Denise spent some time in Laguna Beach with Gabbritte’s mum last month, and shared some sweet snaps of her extended family. It comes as Denise said she was feeling “blessed” after the announcement of son Matty’s engagement to Gabbriette.

Loose Women panellist Denise previously confirmed the news of her son’s engagement after Gabbriette posted a series of snaps on Instagram revealing the news to fans while she and Matty supported friend Charli XCX in concert. Gabbriette posted a picture of her black diamond engagement ring and tagged Matty’s Instagram account with the caption: “Marrying The 1975 is very brat,” in reference to Charli XCX’s new album.

After confirming the news on Loose Women last month, Denise shared a lengthy Instagram post revealing she feels “blessed” over the news. She wrote: “What a day!!! I wake up to find that @gabbriette and Matty had gone Instagram official on their engagement so I was able to tell everyone!!!

“I’m so happy to be blessed with a wonderful daughter in law to be and to share this news with @chayobechtel and @gary.bechtel . Then @robbiewilliams popped by @loosewomen to say hi to his wife @aydafieldwilliams and ended up joining the panel!! It was so lovely to see him as we go back years but he hadn’t planned on being on telly so hadn’t washed off his spray tan!!! Anyway, we ended up spooning in the corridor wearing our matching co ords!! All in a days work.”

On Loose Women, Denise was previously quizzed on the news that Gabbriette would soon become her daughter-in-law. She said: “I have known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged. They went over to see their friends Charli and George in New York. I woke up this morning to the fact they’ve put it on Instagram. Instagram official, he has got engaged to Gabbriette. Black diamond, he had it made for her and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

“She is from Los Angeles, she is absolutely gorgeous, she does have a rat. We couldn’t be happier, she is everything that I would want in a daughter in law.” Earlier this year, Matty was pictured introducing Gabbriette to his family. The couple supported Denise at her theatre stint in Manchester. The American singer spent time with Matty’s family at the show, including his younger brother Louis Healy, 22, their father Tim Healy, 72, and his wife Joan Anderton, 62.

Denise shared a snap of them all together and wrote in the caption of the post: “Lovely to have the family in to see mum at work!!!” Matty, who is the son of Denise and Tim Healy, started dating Gabbriette last September. She is the lead singer of punk rock band Nasty Cherry while he is the frontman of The 1975.

Their romance came after the high profile fling between Matty and pop star Taylor Swift. Taylor has since gone on to enjoy a high-profile relationship with Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce.

Brits are headed to the polling stations this Thursday, July 4, but Kate Garraway revealed she wouldn’t be voting in the General Election as she gave a nod to her late husband.

The Good Morning Britain presenter was hosting the ITV breakfast programme along with Adil Ray as the pair announced a massive change to their show.

But when chatting to election expert Alex Thomas, Kate admitted she and her 18-year-old daughter Darcey would not be able to vote as they hadn’t received their polling cards – but in a sad twist, the late Derek Draper did.

“What happens if you haven’t registered to vote?”, she first said, “I’m in a situation, I was very excited, I thought my daughter, who has turned 18 recently, and I could go and vote for the first time.”

The former lobbyist lost a lengthy battle against Covid-19 earlier this year, at the age of 56 years old. Kate then added, in reference to their teen daughter: “She’s now saying she doesn’t think she did properly register.”

“Polling cards have come through the door, I haven’t had one for myself or her. The only polling card that’s come through the door is for Derek, sadly, who’s passed away. Is there any way around that situation?”

Unfortunately for her, Alex Thomas let her know neither she nor Darcey would be able to vote this Thursday: “It’s too late now to register to vote.

Earlier in the programme, as viewers were preparing for polling stations to open this Thursday at 7am, Kate Garraway and Adil Ray announced their programme would be a “politics-free zone” due to regulations.

“You might be wondering why on the day of the election – because it is polling day today, by the way – we’re not actually discussing the issues related to the general election or interviewing the people that have a position on the issues,” Kate first said.

She then went on: “We can’t talk about the issues because we have to follow certain broadcasting rules which means today’s Good Morning Britain is a ‘politics-free zone.’”

In recent weeks, GMB hosts have focused their attention on various political leaders who agreed to endure their grilling – with the exception of Rishi Sunak who was called out for snubbing the programme. Instead, the prime minister was seen on the set of Loose Women and This Morning.

On Wednesday, July 3, however, Sunak’s appearance was overshadowed by a string of awkward moments and a plethora of critical comments over on X, otherwise known as Twitter.

The two royal couples appeared close at first – and they were even nicknamed the Fab Four. However, in a resurfaced interview that the two couples gave together more than six years ago, the Duchess of Sussex made a revealing comment that seemed to suggest all was not well.

Back in February 2018 – during what was then dubbed as an appearance by the Fab Four at the Royal Foundation Forum – both couples shared the stage.

At this juncture, Princess Kate was expecting her third child, Prince Louis, and Meghan was gearing up for her nuptials with Harry just a few months down the line.

Meghan and Prince Harry are currently self-isolating in LA with baby Archie, and planning their first ventures in their quest to become financially independent.

It has been announced they are launching a charitable organisation called Archewell in due course, and have reportedly signed with an elite agency.

According to reports, the couple have joined the Harry Walker Agency – which also counts the Obamas, Clintons, Serena and Venus Williams, and TV legend Oprah Winfrey as clients – in their first career move since moving to Hollywood.

In 2015, the Clintons reportedly earned an incredible £20million in one year from public speaking.

Prince Andrew’s persistence to stay in the Royal Lodge has a particularly “symbolic” meaning, according to a royal commentator.

The Duke of York has been refusing to leave the 30-bedroom property in Windsor, thought to be worth £30million.

But the royal has been struggling with the upkeep of the mansion, where he lives with his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, as he is required to “repair, renew, uphold, clean and keep in repair and, where necessary, rebuild” the mansion, according to the 75-year lease agreement granted to him in 2003 by the Crown Estate.

It’s also specified that the walls of the mansion must be repainted every five years “with two coats of paint”, while inside the house, the duke is forced to “paint with at least two coats of paint and to paper, polish, decorate and otherwise appropriately treat” every seven years, starting from 2010.

However, Andrew is thought to be determined to stay put and now a royal commentator has claimed there’s a very particular reason as to why that is.

Actor, businessman and activist George Clooney has seen enough.

Speaking on a panel for his new show, “Catch-22,” he took time out Monday to comment on the “frustrating” media coverage he’s witness lately with Meghan Markle, the now Duchess of Sussex.

When asked about him being godfather to her upcoming child, Clooney denied the report, but added, “She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that [Princess] Diana was, and it’s history repeating itself,” according to the Associated Press, who was at the Television Critics Association panel on Monday.

Clooney, who did attend Markel’s wedding to Prince Harry last year with his wife Amal, was referring to Diana’s death in 1997 after she was being pursued by paparazzi and her car was trying to evade them.

Clooney added about Diana’s death and the now coverage of Markle, “we’ve seen how that ends.”

She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she is being pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that (Princess) Diana was, and it’s history repeating itself.

“I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to see that,” he added, according to E! News and other outlets at the panel. “She’s getting a raw deal there. It’s irresponsible.”

Clooney’s comments come after British tabloids have labeled Markle “Duchess Difficult,” several also reporting on a private letter from her to her estranged father, as well.

Clooney is not the only public figure to speak out about what’s happening.

Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson also weighed in, sharing similar sentiments of concern, though not directly connecting the online bullying to the Duchess of Sussex and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. Ferguson wrote a candid letter in Hello! magazine on Monday, taking aim at what she calls the “sewer” of social media.

“It’s time to confront head on the fact that much of social media has become a sewer,” she wrote. “Women, in particular, are constantly pitted against and compared with each other in a way that reminds me of how people tried to portray Diana and me all the time as rivals, which is something neither of us ever really felt.”

Certainly there are parallels between the relationship that Kate and Meghan have and Diana and Fergie had.

“She absolutely is referring to the treatment of Meghan and Kate,” royal contributor Imogen Lloyd Webber told “GMA.” “Certainly there are parallels between the relationship that Kate and Meghan have and Diana and Fergie had.”

Also, a handful of Markle’s closest friends spoke out to People magazine recently about the “global bullying.”

“We worry about what this is doing to her and the baby,” a former co-star of Markle’s said. ”It’s wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they’re pregnant.”
