Meghan’s ‘intimidated’ Suits co-stars reveal they have ‘zero communication’ with her – so what happened to TV pals?

IT was the hit legal drama that made Meghan Markle a star – and where the cast claimed to feel more like close family than friends.

Now, as a spin-off of Suits is set to start filming next month, many of the Duchess of Sussex’s co-stars who attended her 2018 wedding say she is no longer in touch with them.

Having turned up to the ceremony with great fanfare, several of the stars say they’ve had “no communication” with Meghan since that day.

It comes after one of the cast said he was “too intimidated” to reach out to the Duchess, while another, who once dubbed her a “sister”, revealed they hadn’t been in contact since 2019.

We look at what happened next to Meghan’s Suits “pals” – as well as other celebrity guests who rubbed shoulders with the royals at her wedding to Prince Harry.

JESSICA MULRONEY

CANADIAN fashion stylist Jessica met Meghan in 2011 and went on to become one of the closest members of her inner circle.

In 2016, during the early stages of the future Duchess’s relationship with Prince Harry, it is claimed Jessica invited him over for dinner to allow them to bond, away from prying eyes.

Jessica helped to plan Meghan’s wedding and consulted her pal about dresses – and her twin sons were page boys on the big day.

But it is claimed that in 2020 the friendship hit hard times when Jessica was accused of “white privilege” after a row with a lifestyle blogger about the Black Lives Matter movement, and Meghan did not appear to back her up.

Last year, the stylist was not mentioned in Harry’s memoir Spare and noticeably was not interviewed for the Sussexes’ six-part Netflix documentary in 2022.

Jessica remained silent when the series aired, but she did post a photograph from the royal wedding – one that tellingly did not feature either of the Sussexes.

RICK HOFFMAN

WHEN Meghan’s departure from Suits was announced in 2017, Rick – who played oily lawyer Louis Litt – described it as being ­similar to “losing part of our heart muscle”.

He attended the royal wedding and broke the no mobile phones rule at the reception to go online and explain why he had pulled an “unimpressed” facial expression during the ceremony.

Rick, 53, claimed the person he was sitting next to had halitosis.

He said: “Hence the face. That is apparently all over the place.

“So it’s as simple as that, Charlie. Love you guys. Yah. Halitosis. Disgusting.”

While it doesn’t seem that he and Meghan have been out in public together, Rick has shared several throwback photos from their filming days.

They included a snap of them drinking wine, which he captioned “The good ol’ days” in 2021.

There was also one last year of the Suits cast together.

 

 

GABRIEL MACHT

THE majority of the Suits plotlines centred around dashing Gabriel, who starred as Harvey Specter and appeared in every single episode .

The star, who has since taken a break from acting, beamed at cameras on Harry and Meghan’s big day and revealed that it was “an incredible honour to be a part of the whole celebration”.

He added: “May your journey together be full of love and children.”

It seems Gabriel has had little contact with the Duchess since, and he has been careful when speaking about her to the Press.

He recently told the Hollywood Reporter: “I have not communicated with her other than seeing her big support for the [Suits] resurgence and that has been really nice.”

Ahead of the Golden Globes, Gabriel was asked what it would take to get Meghan to appear in the remake – but he swerved the question.

“I think the question is how much money would it take to bring me back,” he joked.

SERENA WILLIAMS

AFTER bonding at a celebrity event in 2014, Meghan said she “hit it off immediately” with Serena.

From there, the Duchess claimed her tennis champ pal had “quickly become a ­confidante I would text” and that they were very much involved in each ­others’ lives.

After the couple’s Oprah interview, Serena described Meghan as “selfless” and said the Duchess had taught her “what it means to be truly noble”.

It is unclear how close the pair are now.

In a video from Serena’s own baby shower last year, Meghan was nowhere to be seen.

Then, in what some interpreted as a “snub”, the Duchess failed to thank the tennis ace for appearing on her Archetypes podcast – despite namedropping other stars including Mariah Carey and Jameela Jamil.

Serena featured on the first episode of the £15million Spotify series, which ended in June last year, and spoke about the double standards “ambitious” women face, motherhood and tennis.

SARAH RAFFERTY

PREVIOUSLY, Meghan was described as “not just my Suits sister-wife, but my sister” by co-star Sarah, who played sexy secretary Donna Paulsen.

And after attending the royal wedding, she gushed that she was “honoured to witness such a sublime and emotional event”.

But one year later, in 2019, Sarah hinted that the woman she previously called “family” was no longer a big fixture in her life.

“She is really busy. She’s super-busy,” the actress told US TV show Today.

Sarah, 51, has remained tight-lipped about the Duchess since then, often shutting down questions about Meghan, and has not been pictured with her in public.

In September 2022, following the death of Queen Elizabeth, Sarah tweeted a tribute to Meghan, thanking her for “normalising having a respected woman in power”.

DAVID AND VICTORIA BECKHAM

MEGHAN first met Victoria Beckham in 2013 and, according to Posh’s former pal Lizzie Cundy, Meg “squealed” as she was a “big fan”.

Before the royal wedding, the pair were said to have “grown close” and would “regularly text”, with the Duchess often consulting her pal about fashion.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and David bonded too and, after the royals’ son Archie was born in 2019, ex-England footballer Becks told how he was “proud” of his “amazing” pal.

But last year, their close friendship appeared to cool amid suspicions Victoria and David were leaking stories to the Press.

According to reports, it led to a tense phone call between the couples that was alleged to have left David “absolutely bloody furious”.

A source told a Sunday newspaper the chance of “any making up now is unlikely”.

ABIGAIL SPENCER

ACTRESS Abigail first met Meghan more than a decade before the royal wedding, at an audition.

She told US TV programme Entertainment Tonight: “I saw her and was like, ‘Who is this gorgeous girl?’

“She was just so stunning and there was something about her.”

They grew even closer on Suits, when Abigail played Dana Scott in 15 episodes, and she contributed to Meghan’s now- discontinued lifestyle blog The Tig.

Abigail, 42, was one of the first to find out Meghan was dating Harry when it was still a secret, attended her 2019 New York baby shower and still appears close, featuring in the Sussexes’ 2022 Netflix documentary.

In tribute to her lasting friendship with Meghan, she gushed: “She’s always been a safe harbour for me, someone I can fall apart in front of – and with. And I have.”

WENDELL PIERCE

WENDELL was there for Meghan’s screen wedding in Suits but was notably absent from her real-life ceremony in 2018 due to a work diary clash, though he described being “irrationally happy” for his co-star.

Wendell, 60, who played attorney Robert Zane in the show, has since said they have not spoken since 2019, and while working together the chat was on “what was in the script and what was happening in our lives”.

In 2021, the Wire star said he wishes Meghan “the best” and claimed his tweet about the ­Sussexes’ Oprah Winfrey interview being a distraction from the thousands of people dying every day during the pandemic had been taken out of context.

But when asked who he blamed, he listed “everyone”, including Oprah, Prince Harry, Meghan, the Palace and the broadcasters.

PATRICK J ADAMS

HE was Meghan’s love interest in the hit TV drama, but star Patrick says he now has “no ­communication” with her.

The actor, who played Mike Ross, said he was a “little scared” to contact the Duchess after a lengthy silence.

On the eve of her wedding to Harry, Patrick had gushed: “Thinking a lot about the strange surreal and wonderful day my friend Meghan is going to have tomorrow.

“Meghan . . . we are so grateful to be here to watch you both take this monumental step. Love deeply and live well.”

But in the years that followed, the stars became estranged, with Patrick describing the dramatic change in Meghan’s life- style as “wild to watch”.

In 2020, he revealed he felt “too intimidated” to phone his former pal.

He said they swapped messages and gifts when their children were born, but little else. In an interview at the time, he added: “I have no doubt I could pick up the phone and call her but I don’t know what I would say.

“I guess I’m scared about the idea of breaking through whatever walls exist.”

Patrick claimed he spent less time with Meghan as her life was “incredibly full”. He has always jumped to her defence, but has complained of being “pulled into” debates about her.

When asked if he had spoken to Meghan ahead of this year’s Super Bowl, Patrick responded: “Zero. No communication.”

GINA TORRES

GINA, who played Jessica Pearson, said she had a “great time” and “enjoyed Meghan” while working alongside her on Suits.

At the Royal wedding, the actress was named among the best-dressed guests. But one year later, her friendship with the Duchess appeared to have faltered.

In 2019, Gina admitted: “I’m not in touch with Meghan. There’s no story in why.

“What I will say is, if I could offer a window into what it is to be an actor and live this crazy life when you’re an actor, you meet hundreds of people during your career.

“The public only sees the characters that are on TV, but there are hundreds of people that make a show happen.

“If you are fortunate enough of an actor as I am, that has had a varied career, you can’t bring all those people with you.”

Downplaying their friendship, Gina insisted she and Meghan were on “such different trajectories” but “bore witness to a great many things” while they worked together.

“It’s a no-harm, no-foul thing,” she added.

“I got to absolutely give her my love and my best and wish her nothing but happiness at the wedding, and that’s the end of the story.”

Last month, when asked if the Suits gang had messaged Meghan to join them at the Golden Globes, Gina admitted: “We don’t have her number.” However, she insisted: “She’ll be happy that we’re here.”

GEORGE AND AMAL CLOONEY

GEORGE and Amal were among the best-known celebrities at the glitzy Windsor wedding.

That same year, the A-listers invited Meghan and Harry to their waterfront villa on Lake Como, Italy, where they enjoyed a private cruise and “several banquets”.

Sophie Roper, the newest producer for Emmerdale, has revealed to The Mirror and other press that viewers will delve deeper into Ruby and Caleb Miligan’s relationship, following the departure of their son Nicky last month.

She teased that there is “a lot of their history” to still uncover and hinted a new character might be on their way, revealing that a “blast from their past” arrives and tells us more about Ruby’s past and the couple’s complicated relationship.

Speaking about what’s to come on the ITV soap, producer Sophie revealed: “Elsewhere, we’ve got Caleb and Ruby, who have landed in the village and had a real impact. But we don’t know a huge amount about them and there’s lots in terms of their history, particularly Ruby’s, that is yet unknown. Discussing why she’s like that, Beth Cordingly – who plays Ruby – shared recently: “Ultimately, she’s doing it for Caleb. She wants to make him happy. She’s conceded that being with his family does that, even if she does whinge about living in the village, so her next step comes because of Caleb’s beef with Kim – she wants to punish her. Ruby also has her own thing with Kim, though.

“Remember when she and Kim were in cahoots and it ended badly, Ruby left saying, ‘You don’t want to cross me!’ and Kim laughed in her face. So, there’s a bit of pride in there for Ruby with this – she’s one of those people that’s not very good at letting things go.”

Asked who might come out top, she warned it would be a closer call than one might think. She said: “Ruby is passionate and impulsive, whereas Kim’s far cooler and doesn’t get her feathers ruffled. We get the impression that Ruby and Caleb have been tough for quite a long time with a lot of people. But is she up to Kim? Well, we’ll see…”

Charlene White ‘warned’ on Loose Women over ‘turning up late’: ‘It was out of my control’

Charlene White has been issued a warning for turning up late on Loose Women.

The presenter joined Brenda Edwards and Coleen Nolan on the panel today (June 24), where EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy was also making an appearance as a guest panellist.

It was during a debate about punctuality that Charlene found herself exposed by her colleagues.

Gareth Southgate has admitted Jude Bellingham will be in the “spotlight” as the England midfielder treads a disciplinary tightrope.

Bellingham was hit with a £25,000 fine and one match ban – suspended for a year – as punishment by UEFA for his gesture after scoring his 95th minute equaliser against Slovakia.

‌ Real Madrid star Bellingham is also just one booking away from missing a potential Euros semi final as he is one of five England players on a booking for the quarter final with Switzerland. Phil Foden, Kobbie Mainoo, Kieran Trippier and Conor Gallagher have also had yellow cards which get wiped after the quarter final stage.

Southgate will remind all five players about the yellow peril but admitted that Bellingham will be in the limelight after the UEFA verdict and will have to keep his calm if Switzerland try to wind him up.,‌

England boss Southgate said: “I think it’s a common sense decision. Clearly it’s an unprecedented moment in someone’s life to score a goal like that in the 96th minute. I don’t know how I’d have reacted in that moment if that was me, at his age as well.

“I’m just so mindful of everything he’s achieving and the spotlight on his world and at that age – or any age – nobody is going to be perfect at 21.

“You are at times going to react emotionally and without that emotion I don’t think you have the type of player he is, so I think he actually deals with everything so well.‌

“Discipline is something we always put a big focus on. Generally speaking, across all tournaments our discipline has been good. That is important. You don’t want to lose players on disciplinary issues.

In a recent interview, she said: “There was once an episode that I did where, unfortunately, the keys for the property got locked inside the property, and we couldn’t film it. That was a bit of a disaster. It was in Florida, but that was so many years ago. So we had to call a wrap on that and then show them the property the next day, which wasn’t obviously ideal. But it was just one of those things.”

She continued during her interview with The Sun: “It was kind of like, who’s got the keys? Oh, God, you know, imagine that thing that kind of happens at home. Who’s got the keys? Who’s got the keys? And it was like, oh my God, the keys are inside.” Away from the cameras, it seems Laura’s life off-screen is equally as dramatic after reports emerged of her dating a married man.

In 2022, Laura announced she had split with her husband Alex Goward after nine years of marriage. The couple share two children together, Rocco, 10, and Tahlia, eight. It’s believed that Laura is in a relationship with James Pettigrew and the pair made their romance official in January this year.

But his estranged wife, Jackie, is said to have been unaware of their budding romance. A source told the MailOnline: “Laura has been dating James since January and they spend all their time together. While Laura has been single since splitting from her ex-husband, James is still married, and their relationship has caused his estranged wife Jackie a lot of hurt and upset.”

They added: “She was unaware of their romance in the early days and is now going through a painful divorce, with her priority being to protect her two daughters. Laura and James have made every attempt to keep their relationship private but it’s been months and they’re so close now, they are fully committed to each other and making this work long-term.”

Two months ago, it was reported that Laura and James enjoyed a day out together at the Scottish FA Cup Final in May this year. They were spotted sat in the hospitality suite watching the game unfold between Celtic and Rangers. Speaking about her split with her husband Alex, Laura previously said: “We are co-parenting, and it works. But even that, you know, I kind of felt like I had failed.”

He blindfolded her and led to her to the middle of a circle where men and women were sat around her and started to shout abuse at her and tell her of all her shortcomings and wrongdoings, leaving fans struggling to watch what was going on.

He later urged her to call herself worthless, before declaring she wanted to be free. It left her devastated and she broke down in tears, before being embraced by the people who had been shouting abuse at her.

After watching the scenes, one fan wrote: “Wtf the institute has taken a rather dark turn #corrie,” whilst a second added: “Obsessed with tonight’s cult scenes in #Corrie they’ve really turned it up a notch now.” A third penned: “Gosh this is awful!”

Actor Emrhys Cooper has warned Leanne will soon become aware of Rowan’s criminal past – as he is hiding things from her.

He told The Mirror : “We are going to find out more about Rowan. He’s had an interesting and dark past, he’s been involved in crime, a very chequered past and he was saved by the institute. So he turned his life around thanks to the institute and he’s grateful cos it got him a new life, but you will learn more about Rowan very soon.”

On the cult and its impact, he added: “It happens way more frequently than we realise, it’s a slow burn. It’s not right away. [Leanne is a] Battersby, it took a lot of work for Rowan to get her in. I think it’s very realistic.”

Emrhys explained Rowan’s mindset behind what he’s doing – and how he really believes he’s doing things for the right reason.

“In Rowan’s defence he’s doing it for the greater good and he believes he’s helping Leanne and Amy. But I would definitely be a little nervous if I had revealed a lot of my past to someone like Rowan. It could be used against Leanne and Amy, that’s something to watch out for, pay attention,” he said of Rowan’s motive behind what he’s doing to Leanne.

The year 2024 has been, what one might call, a massive bummer for the British royal family. If King Charles’ last decade near the top of the hierarchy saw the royal family slim down, the ascension of William V might see things becoming positively emaciated. This is a time of unprecedented crisis, with the King and Princess of Wales seriously ill. Additionally, Princess Anne, one of the most popular and hardest-working members of the royal family, has been admitted to the hospital with minor injuries and a concussion, though she’s expected to make a swift recovery. Despite these challenges, it’s been inspiring to see how King Charles, a workaholic by nature who is also battling cancer, has carried out so many royal engagements recently. The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in October was to have been followed by the King and Queen touring the Antipodes and Fiji. However, there are already reports that this itinerary might be too taxing, and it is potentially being rearranged. We have no idea when William and Catherine will be able to tour abroad next, but when it happens, it will be a major event. Both Catherine and King Charles have taken every opportunity to connect with fellow sufferers, and no one can do this more effectively than members of the British royal family.

Meanwhile, Princess Anne is spending her fourth day in the hospital after being injured by a horse on Sunday evening. Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence said Princess Anne is recovering slowly as he left a Bristol hospital after visiting his wife. According to medics who previously treated her, Princess Anne will only listen to three members of the royal family in order to behave in the hospital. Hospital staff said that she constantly wanted to get up and go home, but it was only when three members of The Firm were brought in that she followed the medical team’s advice. The best strategy is to keep her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, or one of her children, Peter Phillips or Zara Tindall, on hand. These are the only people who could tell her to behave. Once home, she was generous with thank you notes, flowers, and a charitable donation.

A photograph taken by Catherine to celebrate her husband’s birthday was proof of her skill as a photographer. It showed William and all three of their children jumping over a sand dune on a Norfolk beach. Their midair exuberance symbolizes the freedom William has always been determined to give his family. The Welsh Islander, 21, has found love with Nicole while in the ITV2 villa yet they were rocked when a fresh batch of singletons arrived during Casa Amor. It was revealed Ciaran knew Ellie Jackson when she enter the series earlier this week and wasn’t sure whether the pair had slept together.

“I think I slid into her DMs. I don’t think she’s one of the 120,” he boasted. Ellie also confessed that the pair had met in the past. During tonight’s episode, Nicole wanted to find out how Ellie knows Ciaran. Ellie revealed: “It was on and off messaging for a good few months” before confirming that the two had actually met before on a night out. Nicole admitted Ciaran never told her that as Ellie replied: “I had a feeling he’d downplay it slightly…”

Nicole decided to confront Ciaran, where tempers started to flare. He tried to set the record straight once and for all as he pulled Ellie for a chat. Yet it didn’t end well as things quickly got heated between the pair. Ellie said: “I never said anything happened between us, you just weren’t honest about…”

He interjected: “What wasn’t I honest about.” Ellie replied: “You said it was a couple of DMs. I thought you would have elaborated on the whole…” Ciaran insisted: “You made it out to be as if there was way more between us.” Ellie hit back: “I am not being dishonest, I have sang your praises to her.”

Ciaran fumed: “It is the past, I don’t remember saying that to you.” Ellie responded: “Okay you don’t remember a lot to be fair.” He told her to “enlighten” him as Ellie recalled they saw each other on a night out and that Ciaran had asked her to dance. She fumed: “You literally sent me videos of your dogs on Snapchat.”

The Welshman insisted they did not have “months worth of messages” before walking away. He then fumed: “Stirring the pot,” before adding: “Shut up, you absolute doughnut.” Later in the episode, Nicole and Ciaran discussed the subject once again as she told him: “I can’t be arsed with this s**t all the time.” He replied: “I just want to focus on me and you now.”

Love Island fans sided with Ciaran as one viewer said: “This Ellie girl is stretching out this whole Ciaran thing for a storyline and it’s not cute #loveIsland.” Another added: “is this ellie babe just embarrassed ciaran didn’t move to her during casa?? #loveisland.” Someone else commented: “ellie bringing up this entire thing with ciaran to nicole just to get some screentime and im not here for it – you KNOW what thats gonna do #loveisland.”

A fourth declared: ““You sent me videos of your dogs” okay Ellie does that mean you guys were engaged or what?! I’m with Ciaran on this one I’m sorry – can’t believe Nicole has me siding with a man AGAIN.”

Harry Kane believes “one of the best goals in English history” can inspire England to go all the way at Euro 2024.

Gareth Southgate, Kane and the rest of the squad have been preparing meticulously on the training ground for the challenge posed by an in-form Switzerland and were in a serious, businesslike mood when they arrived in Dusseldorf on Friday. But there is no doubt Kane and his teammates are still buzzing about the dramatic nature of their last-16 win over Slovakia, sparked by Jude Bellingham’s 95th breathtaking 95th minute equaliser.

Kane said: “Any major winner, or country that wins, probably looks back at a moment that maybe changed the course of their tournament, or was a big moment in getting them through. Jude stepped up and has done that for us. I think it was one of the best goals in English history.

“Ultimately, we know we’ve still got three big games ahead, so it’s step by step. But those are the moments you might look back on in ten or 11 days, whenever the final is, and be, like … wow – that was the turning point. I think 100 percent it can be the spark that the team needed.”

But while Bellingham’s heroics might prove to be inspirational, Kane keeps coming back to one quality when discussing how England got to the last eight and the challenge that now lies ahead.

While Southgate and his players have been heavily criticised for their performances – even though they have won two and drawn two of their four matches – Kane clearly believes certain mitigating factors have not been taken into consideration.

The surfaces, the defensive organisation of modern international teams, the improvement of nations that are normally unfancied. But he is proud of the way England players might have been below par in terms but have shown the mental strength to pull through.

He said: “We feel like the coach has given us so much and been one of our most successful managers so we need to go out there and repay him. In terms of the performance, of course, every game we’ve tried to play better and improve.

“Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t but the important thing is we find a way to get through. We want to play better and hopefully we can do it but there are a lot of different variables in the game and different moments that you have to come through.

“What we’ve been so good at over the years is the resilience we’ve shown in different moments in different games and it will be no different (against the Swiss).”

And in terms of tactics, Kane revealed that a lot of players have been having their say since the 1-1 draw with Denmark in the second game of the group stage.

He said: “There have definitely been more discussions between the players and with the staff about how we felt on the pitch and how they saw it off the pitch, trying to come to a solution that works best for everyone.

“When you’ve got the players that we’ve got in our team, who have had the experiences we’ve had at club and international level, it’s very important you share what you’re feeling, share your ideas and share where you think we could improve. That’s what we’ve done, especially since that Denmark game.

“We analyse the game like we always do and this Switzerland game has been no different. We’ve worked on different scenarios and how to get that pressure.

“Now it is just about going out there and letting the football do the talking.”
