Coronation Street fans will see DS Swain in a different light, following the soap’s latest big twist.

Viewers found out this week that a new character, only known as ‘Sabrina’s mate’, was in fact the daughter of police detective Lisa Swain. Betsy made her debut in a recent episode as she helped Sabrina through drama, only to meet villain Joel Deering.

Betsy had only been seen in scenes with Sabrina and Joel until Friday’s episode, when her true identity was confirmed. Swain was seen finding her teenaged daughter near the Weatherfield Precinct, with her texting Joel asking for more money amid her blackmailing him.

Swain clashed with her daughter as she refused to get in her car, with Swain eager to get home. This was the first time viewers had seen the pair onscreen together, with Betsy finally identified.

But viewers can expect to see much more drama for the duo, and a completely different side to Swain. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actress Vicky Myers reacted to the “big shock”, and teased what was ahead for the characters

She said of Betsy’s debut: “I think it’s going to be a big shock. I hope it’ll be a big reveal, that’s what we want. I think it’ll be interesting to see what she is like as a mum.

“Everything that’s happened that has created what their situation and relationship is now, Betsy lost her mum so tragically and in the line of duty. She’s watching her mum go out to work in the same profession she lost her other mum [in], and it was in her early teens.

“Her mum chose to go straight back [to work]. She’s inadvertently pushed Betsy away and it’s really quite sad. So this relationship is fractured, it’s broken cos they are both petrified of losing each other.

“So in that we’ve got this clash and they have written it so beautifully, the backstory and depth to it is wonderful. Sydney [Martin] is a joy, absolutely wonderful. What a terrific actress she is. I lucked out when they cast her, I’m learning from her. She is great, she’s a beautiful woman offscreen as well.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s daughter, Princess Lilibet, will celebrate her third birthday on June 4, just weeks after the duchess paid a fashion tribute to her youngest child during a visit to Nigeria.

Meghan and Harry visited Abuja and Lagos in Nigeria from May 10 to 12 at the invitation of the country’s chief of defense staff, in connection with the Invictus Games.

During the trip, Meghan gave a brief speech at the State Governor House in Lagos where she had received an official welcome with Harry. The speech took place on May 12 which was Mother’s Day back in the U.S.

“I am very, very grateful, I am very humbled, and today is Mother’s Day,” she said during an impromptu moment on stage.

“So it feels appropriate—but though of course we are missing our children, I’m missing my babies—but it feels very appropriate to be in the motherland and amongst family. So thank you so much for the kindness and for these beautiful names [in reference to a presentation that had taken place that day]. I’m very grateful and we can’t wait to come back.”

The session took place remotely at the couple’s Montecito home during the COVID pandemic with Harriman directing the couple via an iPad.

The image, showing the couple sitting beneath a sprawling tree, was released in black and white so that the vivid color of Meghan’s dress wasn’t easily identifiable.

Her choice to re-wear the piece on Mother’s Day just weeks ahead of her daughter’s third birthday was a touching tribute to the young princess.

Harry and Meghan have prioritized the privacy of their children since their split from the monarchy in 2020, keeping them largely out of the public eye. They made an exception to this for their Netflix show Harry & Meghan in 2022, where they released for the first time intimate home movies and photos charting their children’s early years.

So far, Lilibet has not been officially photographed with her parents at a public event, however, the couple released an official portrait of their daughter to mark her first birthday back in 2022. This portrait was also taken by Harriman.

Leaked: Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Fracas Over Ashley Hansen, Meghan Furious Over Variety Carpet Incident

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are grappling with yet another challenge as the year draws to a close, which is further affecting their already declining careers. Recent reports have unveiled a significant development: the couple’s Global Press Secretary, Ashley Hansen, has tendered her resignation after serving in this role for over a year. This information initially surfaced in an article from The Sunday Times and was also covered by Insider, though the original article has since been removed.

The sources close to the situation shed light on Ashley’s departure from the core team of Prince Harry and Meghan. It was disclosed that Ashley had been exploring freelance opportunities independently. However, regrettably, these opportunities did not align with the Sussexes’ plans, despite her being highly regarded by their team. Ashley encountered a common challenge in her role – clients not always heeding her advice, hinting at underlying tensions.

Now, Royal expert Neil SCH has provided insights into Ashley’s exit and why the Times article was removed. In his latest YouTube video, Neil commented on the situation, saying, “How could it be that Meghan and Harry are not taking direction well? What we can tell you exclusively on the show is that there has been quite a fracas. The fracas essentially stems from that Variety appearance, where Meghan was visibly upset. In fact, she was asked to move along the red carpet, and it seemed like she was sticking there like glue. That incident has evolved into something of a catastrophe.”

As of now, Ashley Hansen has refrained from making any public statements, especially over the festive season. The reason behind The Times newspaper’s removal of the article from their website and subsequent follow-ups is the widespread denial from the particular camp involved. What is evident is that there is turmoil within their team. Allegedly, Prince Harry wishes for Ashley to remain in her role and believes she’s doing a terrific job. However, according to the same source, Megan is not particularly pleased, which is unsurprising given the incident on the Variety red carpet back in November.

During that appearance on the red carpet at Variety’s Power of Women Gala, Megan displayed her irritation. In a cameo on the red carpet, Ashley appeared to gently nudge Megan, who laughed and turned to speak to her assistant instead of walking along the red carpet.

It is worth noting that Megan Markle has been vocal about working on several exciting projects following a period of few new releases throughout the year. Unfortunately, it seems that Megan is encountering difficulties in securing work within the entertainment industry, primarily due to the persistent negative press surrounding her and Prince Harry in recent years. According to Deadline, there is a reluctance within the industry to collaborate with the Sussexes, driven by their ongoing feud with the royal family and the extensive gossip surrounding their marriage and lifestyle.

Furthermore, it appears that Megan Markle has not secured the movie or television roles that many had expected her to land by now. Megan was written out of the legal drama “Suits” and distanced herself from Hollywood before beginning her relationship with Prince Harry in 2016.

During their visit, the couple attended a number of Invictus related events, meeting with veterans and charities connected with the sports tournament. They also took part in wider philanthropic visits and official receptions held by local authorities to honor their visit.

During an evening reception in the capital city of Abuja on May 11, media cameras covering the event caught a touching moment between the couple which has since been highlighted by fans on social media.

The post, captioned “I need him,” has received in excess of 98,000 views and numerous comments, many of which have praised the couple and their public displays of affection for one another.

“Notice the way he reached for her, then she reached back for him. Love is a union,” wrote one TikTok user.

“We all need a harry,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “You can tell they are so caring with each other behind the scenes. It’s like even their bodies are in sync. Natural with each other.”

The couple’s Nigeria visit inspired a number of social media posts and videos, many of which centered around the couple’s affectionate moments and interactions with members of the local communities.

Though the trip was generally well received, it raised eyebrows in Britain for being closely aligned to the form and function of an official royal tour which, since they stepped down as working royals in 2020, Harry and Meghan no longer carry out on behalf of the U.K. government or monarch.

Despite this, future overseas travel is likely to be on the cards for the couple. In 2025, they have the upcoming Invictus Games which will be held in Whistler and Vancouver, Canada. Earlier this year, the duke and duchess spent a number of days in the area attending events marking the one-year waypoint to the games.

The Duchess of Sussex landed at Heathrow Airport and reuinted with her husband ahead of their three-day trip to Nigeria.

It comes after the Duke visited London for an Invictus Games ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral – and did not see his father King Charles despite him being just a few miles away at a Buckingham Palace garden party.

Meghan was seen waiting for Harry at the airport in the VIP Windsor Suite. The pair then boarded the British Airways overnight flight to Abuja.

However it wasn’t before a delay to their flight. The pilot that had been scheduled to take them was sick and a replacement was needed.

Amongst the pair’s plans while in Nigeria is watching a volleyball game and visits to military hospitals and charities in Abuja and Lagos.

Their itinerary, revealed by the Defence HQ during a press conference on Thursday, May 9, also includes scheduled meetings with injured armed forces personnel and their families.

They were invited to Nigeria by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, after Harry met him at the games in Dusseldorf, Germany last September.

But the Sussexes have been accused of hypocrisy over their security fears surrounding Britain because of their trip to Nigeria by a former head of royal security.

Dai Davies, who was once responsible for protecting the Royal Family, said it was strange the Duke of Sussex constantly raises the risks of coming to the UK but plans to visit one of the world’s most dangerous countries.

Alexander-Arnold is misses out again in Saturday’s quarter-final tie against Switzerland despite the fact that Gareth Southgate is set to switch shape to a back three and wing-backs, with the majority viewing the Reds star as a perfect fit for a wing-back role.

Fans have previously debated over Alexander-Arnold’s best position with some questioning his defensive qualities. Klopp, however, has long insisted that such talk is rubbish.

“We are fine here because it’s completely different because I see him differently, it’s obvious,” Klopp said back in September 2022. “There are stories out there all the time that talk about him and say he’s not a good defender, but that’s not true.

“He is a good defender. He doesn’t always defend good, that is true as well, but that is what we’re working on. He is a young player, he is 23. My point of view, it’s an easy pick. Whichever team I would coach in the moment, I would sign him because he is exceptional. Is he always exceptional? No.”

The Welsh account manager, 24, had viewers worrying about her on Thursday night after they saw a change in her appearance. Fans believed Nicole looked severely sunburnt during the dramatic recoupling. Taking to social media, many viewers demanded show bosses stepped in.

One said: “Nicole looks like she has sunburn on her nose.” Another added: “Catching up with LoveIsland Is Nicole’s nose burnt to a crisp or is that a contouring catastrophe?” Someone else commented: “How could producers allow Nicole to walk out with Bridget Jones-level bronzer stripes all over her face? That’s just mean!”

A fourth wrote: “Please I’m begging the producers or the girls… someone please sort Nicole’s make-up out. I mean what the actual F.” During the recoupling this week, host Maya Jama was left in tears as tensions went high. Following Casa Amor, Nicole returned to see Ciaran sitting alone. Nicole and Ciaran decided to stick together, yet outside the villa rumours have swirled over trouble in paradise. He has been accused of covering up a tattoo with the name of his previous girlfriend. The Welsh rugby player is said to have dated Gloucester-based student Evie-May Bishop. The TikToker shared online that her ex-boyfriend even has her name allegedly inked on him.

In a video posted on TikTok, Evie-May alleged that Ciaran has a tattoo which reads “Evie-May”. The tattoo appeared to sit on his collarbone beneath his neck. However, the tattoo doesn’t appear to be visible any longer as Ciaran has worn V-neck T-shirts without the tattoo being spotted on the reality series.

While on Monday’s episode, viewers saw Ellie Jackson enter the series. Ciaran realised he knew the bombshell, but wasn’t sure whether the pair had slept together. “I think I slid into her DMs. I don’t think she’s one of the 120,” he boasted. Ellie also confessed that the pair had met in the past.

The two villas went head-to-head in the raunchy races game, with Ciaran appearing to kiss Lucy during one round. Nicole was spotted reading a text confirming that the main villa had won, and asked: “Who the f**k is Lucy?” During Friday’s episode, Nicole is set to ask Ellie how she knows Ciaran.

Ellie reveals to Nicole: “It was on and off messaging for a good few months” before confirming that the two had actually met before on a night out. As Nicole admits Ciaran never told her that, Ellie replies: “I had a feeling he’d downplay it slightly…” Determined to get answers, Nicole is set to pull Ciaran for a chat.
