Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway’s son was arrested on Sunday night following a serious incident in Oslo.

Marius Borg Høiby, 27, spent more than 30 hours in custody after an alleged altercation in an apartment in Frogner after a woman in her 20s called the police.

According to Se og Hør, Borg Høiby allegedly attacked the woman ‘psychologically and physically’ and was arrested.

The woman was taken to hospital where she was diagnosed with a concussion before being released in the early hours of Monday morning.

Reports suggest that Borg Høiby was put in solitary confinement and a blood test was taken to find out if he was under the influence of drugs.

Police told Se og Hør: “A person was arrested and charged with assault and later released from custody.”

The apartment where the incident took place appeared to have been destroyed, according to Norwegian publication Dagbladet.

Borg Høiby is the eldest child of Princess Mette-Marit, who was a single mother when she met Crown Prince Haakon through mutual friends in 1999.

The 27-year-old is now reportedly at the royal Skaugum estate with his 50-year-old mother.

Princess Mette-Marit was due to attend the men’s 1500-metre final at the Paris Olympics last night, but Crown Prince Haakon appeared in the stands alone.

Norwegian Palace confirmed to local media that the Crown Princess has decided to “temporarily postpone” her trip to France following the incident.

“The Crown Princess has temporarily postponed her departure and hopes to travel down later”, the Palace’s communications chief wrote in a text message to Se og Hør.

Øyvind Bratlien, who has expertise in high-profile criminal cases, has been hired by Borg Høiby as his defence lawyer.

Growing up, Borg Høiby made public appearances with his mother, stepfather and half sister Ingrid Alexandra, the future Queen of Norway, and half brother Prince Sverre Magnus on occasions such as national day.

However, when Borg Høiby turned 20 the royal court announced that he was stepping away from public life and his profile was removed from the Royal Family’s official website.

Prince Harry and Meghan brutally ‘snubbed’ David Beckham who responded with ‘revenge’ move

Author Tom Bower has claimed that David Beckham previously sought “revenge” on his former close friend, Prince Harry.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle once brutally “snubbed” David Beckham – which prompted the former footballer to take “revenge” on the couple.

According to author Tom Bower – who has penned a number of books about the Royal Family – the sporting star felt that he had been snubbed by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex just months after their glamorous royal wedding in 2018.

The Invictus Games took place in Sydney in October 2018 – just five months after the wedding – and David came along to support. But the former footballer was left “puzzled” that Harry kept his distance.

Mr Bower claimed that David had arrived “on the agreed day to meet Prince Harry [and that] he was perplexed why officials were playing a dance to keep him happy, but away from Harry”.

The author alleged that Harry had asked for David to be kept at a distance from him at the Games – and that this request had originally come from Meghan Markle.

The author alleged: “Photographs of the two together were forbidden. The royal snub was brutal. David Beckham was puzzled.

“Why did the Prince refuse to meet him? The exclusion order, it later transpired, was issued by Meghan.

“She did not want any competition in the media from Beckham, and especially not from his wife Victoria”, as reported by the Mirror.

A few years later, when the opportunity came up to support Prince William, David was reportedly keen to do so – with the two brothers having now began a strained relationship since the Sussexes move to the US.

During the 2022 World Cup, William invited David to Boston for the Earthshot Prize. The former footballer then flew nearly 8,000 miles to support the launch of the awards – which aims to find solutions to the climate crisis. According to Bower, this move showed that David “had got his revenge for the Sydney snub”.

Prince Harry is set to inherit a fortune when he turns 40 years old in September, with sources now claiming Prince William is furious that it is being allowed.

Prince William is furious that his brother Prince Harry is landing a huge sum of money in just weeks, sources claim.

The Duke of Sussex is set to inherit £7million from a trust set up by his great-great grandmother the Queen Mother, when he turns 40 on September 15.

Harry is set to receive a larger share of the inheritance than his brother, given William is already benefitting from the Duchy of Cornwall wealth.

But the Prince of Wales is reportedly unhappy at the sum, given Harry has stepped back as a senior royal and has subsequently criticised Royal Family members both on TV and in his explosive memoir Spare.

A source told Closer: “William’s pretty disgusted that once again Harry’s going to be cashing out and taking millions back to his Montecito home without lifting a finger for it.

“There’s nothing he can do about it, aside from shaking his head, but if it were up to him, Harry would not be getting this payday.

“William doesn’t think his brother is in any position to be getting this handout and he’s letting it be known that he things it’s a pretty rotten situation.

“William and Kate don’t trust Harry or Meghan one bit, so the idea that Harry’s now cashing in on his great-Granny’s inheritance leaves a very bitter taste in their mouths.”

Since leaving the UK for the US in 2020, Harry has criticised his family and the royal set-up on a number of occasions.

In Spare, he alleged he was left with stitches after a physical altercation with William. He admitted to Oprah Winfrey he was on “different paths” with his sibling and hoped things would “heal”.

Meghan Markle, meanwhile, claimed sister-in-law Princess Kate left her in tears with a comment before her wedding day and made an allegation of racism against an unnamed Royal Family member.

According to Closer, William believes the inheritance shows Harry “is essentially being rewarded after the terrible treatment he’s shown them all” and that it “is just wrong on so many levels”.

Express.co.uk has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.

It comes after a commentator suggested Harry would have missed out on the inheritance had the Queen Mother been aware of what was to come.

Speaking to Fox News, Christopher Andersen said: “Of course, the prince’s great-granny couldn’t have anticipated all the trouble Harry caused the rest of the family. I think she would have cut him out of [the trust] entirely had she known.”

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie once had a serious argument about one “silly little thing”.

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie may be members of the Royal Family but they occasionally have fiery spats just like any other siblings.

But there was one particularly hilarious shouting match between the York sisters and it was all about a pair of Converse trainers.

Eugenie opened up on their “screaming argument” just before her 18th birthday, in 2008.

She told the Telegraph: “Like most sisters, we sometimes fight about clothes.

“I always take her clothes back to school, for instance, which she hates.

“We had a screaming argument over a pair of Converse trainers that I took back, which she said were hers and I said were mine.

“And in the end, I realised they were hers when I found mine behind the door.”

The princess added that despite their rows, the pair have a very close bond, saying: “Like all sisters, we have silly arguments about unimportant stuff, but we do love each other to death.”

It comes as the York sisters have been the subject of discussions recently amid the royal feud between Prince William and Prince Harry.

Reports suggested that Beatrice and Eugenie, who were once very close with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have now “pledged their allegiance” to the Prince of Wales.

A source told Bella magazine: “Beatrice and Eugenie have firmly pledged their allegiance to the Royal Family. They haven’t communicated with the Sussexes for quite a while. They are nowhere near as close as they once were.”

Eugenie had been even labelled the duke’s “best friend” within the Firm, while she regularly visited him in the States, where he now resides.

The Duchess of Edinburgh appears to have shown how close she is with Princess Charlotte and Prince George in a very subtle, yet different, way.

Eagle-eyed royal fans appear to have spotted the Duchess of Edinburgh’s sweet tribute to Princess Charlotte and Prince George.

Joining the cheering crowds at the Olympic Games in Paris this week, the 59-year-old was spotted wearing a friendship bracelet – something that the young royals have also been spotted with in recent weeks.

The royal, who travelled to Paris over the weekend, was present to celebrate Team GB’s major win in the women’s cycling team sprint on Monday.

Stunning royal fans in a gorgeous Erdem purple floral dress, the mother of two appeared to sport a gold bangle and a burgundy friendship bracelet on her left wrist.

This comes just weeks after Charlotte, 9, was spotted wearing some pastel-coloured friendship bracelets at Wimbledon, with the King also paying tribute to his young granddaughter by wearing a similar one during his visit to the Channel Islands.

Prince George was also spotted wearing a friendship bracelet in his official birthday picture last month.

It is thought that George, who celebrated his 11th birthday on July 22, and Charlotte gave their beloved grandfather the bracelet as a sweet homemade gift.

Queen Camilla was also recently spotted wearing her own friendship-style bracelet – one which was personalised with: ‘You’re a bright star’.

The idea of the Royal Family sporting friendship bracelets is likely based on a trend started by US singer-songwriter Taylor Swift – someone who Charlotte and George are huge fans of.

Princess Charlotte and Prince George got to meet the singer at the first date of her Eras Tour in the UK back in June.

The young royals were treated to tickets to the show, which they attended with their father, Prince William.

With selfies of the singer and the royals posted on both Taylor and the Prince and Princess of Wales’s social media platforms, the family also got to meet Taylor’s boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce. Speaking recently on his podcast New Heights, Travis described Charlotte as a “superstar”.

An eye-opening piece of video footage has shed light on the feud between Prince William and Meghan Markle, a royal expert has suggested.

Richard Eden, the Daily Mail’s royal expert, discussed the video on an episode of Reading the Royals on YouTube. It shows the Royal Family leaving church on Christmas Day in 2018.

The expert highlighted the “body language” on display, which he said made royal watchers “take notice” at the time, as it allegedly shows William snubbing Meghan.

Richard said: “By Christmas 2018, the split was terminal and the footage we’re about to see really did make royal watchers sit up and take notice.

“Look at the body language as they’re leaving church on Christmas Day in Sandringham. Meghan looks as if she wants to talk to Prince William, but he sort of turns away awkwardly and fiddles with his scarf.”#

He continued: “Looks like he just doesn’t want to speak to Meghan at all and then at that point, it seems Catherine intervenes. You know, as we’ve seen so often with her, she seems to be sort of the peacemaker.

“And trying to make a bit of small talk, knowing full well that the cameras are all on them.”

Despite these awkward scenes, Richard said the newspapers were filled with photos showing “an apparently united front” between William and Catherine and Harry and Meghan.

Harry and Meghan have sparked controversy since they stepped away from their royal duties in 2020 and moved to the US. They proceeded to conduct a series of interviews that offered up private information about the family.

The Duke of Sussex published a bombshell memoir in 2023, in which he accused his brother of assaulting him. A separate controversy saw the Sussexes level accusations of racism and bullying against the royals.

It was reported this month, however, that Harry is allegedly bemused that the feud with his brother hasn’t yet come to an end. A source told Heat magazine that the Duke thought they would have “found a way to reconcile” by now.

Meanwhile, royal author Tom Quinn suggested that Harry and William’s relationship has little hope after the assault allegations. He also said Harry “still expects William to make the first move”, reports the Mirror.

The author explained that Harry “won’t take the lead” and William is “annoyed” with his brother’s “complaints and attacks”. The Prince of Wales doesn’t intend to extend his hand “in case it gets bitten off”, he added.

Princess Kate made one thing ‘very clear’ to King Charles: ‘Takes a lot of courage’

Princess Kate’s career is only going to get “more and more official” over the years, according to a royal author.

Princess Kate informed her father-in-law, King Charles, that she would be carving out her royal role within the Firm at her own pace, with the clear aim of putting family first, a royal author has claimed.

In a signal that required a “lot of courage”, royal author, Robert Jobson, who penned ‘Catherine: The Princess of Wales’, describes how she informed Queen Camilla and King Charles of her decision.

Robert told Hello! Magazine: “With her children, she made it very clear to both the late Queen and to the Prince of Wales, as he was – now the King – that she’s not going to be rushed into doing things that she doesn’t necessarily want to do.”

He added: “That takes quite a lot of courage, because you’re in a very alien world.”

Kate grew up in Berkshire with her two younger siblings, Pippa and James Middleton, and later went on to study Art History at the University of St Andrews where she met Prince William in 2001.

Kate and William share three young children together – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

The royal author added: “I think she realises that she only has one shot at this. She’s got three young children, and they have to come first.”

Princess Kate released an emotional video in March when she informed the public of her cancer diagnosis, and Robert believes the Princess of Wales is right to prioritise her private and family life at this time.

He said: “She’s a person who wants to find solutions and rise above the noise and the drama, and I think, given what she’s gone through, you don’t want to waste any time on noise, on drama, when you’ve had anything to do with your health.”

He also claimed it is a time when you “live day by day”. He added: “The difference between her and other people is that, in your career, you may have different phases. With her career, it’s only going to get more and more official.”
Back in June before the Princess of Wales attended her first official engagement of the year, she gave the public an update saying she was making “good progress” with her chemotherapy treatment.

She admitted she has “good days and bad days” and candidly added: “I am not out of the woods yet”.

Kate made an appearance to celebrate the King’s official birthday parade, Trooping the Colour in July, where she was seen riding in the carriage procession alongside her three children.

For her second official appearance of the year, she was supported by her sister Pippa Middleton and daughter, Princess Charlotte, as she attended the Wimbledon Men’s Final 2024.

As per tradition, the Waleses usually fly to Aberdeenshire around the August bank holiday and stay at Balmoral Castle for a few days. Kate is expected to travel to Balmoral this month to join the King and Queen and other royals for their traditional Scottish summer holiday.

Royal fans claimed to have seen strong similarities between Prince George and one of his distant relatives in a throwback picture shared on social media.

A throwback black and white snap shared by Prince George’s great-uncle shows strong similarities between the young royal and a distant family member.

Charles Spencer, 60, took to Instagram to share an old image of his father in military uniform in the 1950s. He accompanied the photo with the caption: “My father, in military mode, 70 years ago. #scotsgreys #royalscotsgreys #1950s #blackandwhitephotography.”

Eagle-eyed royal fans have expressed their surprise at how George, 11, looks very much like his great-grandfather, John Spencer.

One Instagram user wrote: “Prince George looks a lot like him”. Another social media user agreed, adding, “Wow in this picture he really does”.

Another commented: “Wow I see a mix of Harry and William in him. Prince George also looks a lot like him.”

Other royal fans appreciated the historical significance of the photograph. One wrote on Instagram: “A poignant memory in the history of your life… So lovely. Thank you for sharing.”

Another wrote: “What a treasure, to have those pictures. I wish my family had pictures such as those.”

The younger brother of the late Princess Diana lives at Althorp House, the family home where he grew up. Last week, Earl Spencer also shared a touching tribute to his brother-in-law, Lord Robert Fellowes, who died at the age of 82. Lord Fellowes married Charles’ sister Jane in 1978.

Charles wrote on social media: “My absolutely exceptional brother-in-law, Robert, is no longer with us. A total gentleman—in all the best meanings of that word—he was a man of humor, wisdom, and utter integrity. I’m deeply proud to have been his brother-in-law.”

Robert was one of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s courtiers, navigating her through her “annus horribilis” in 1992, when three of her children divorced, and when a fire broke out at Windsor Castle gutting more than 100 rooms.

The late Queen addressed her year publicly in a speech at Guildhall to mark the 40th anniversary of her accession to the throne.

She said: “1992 is not a year on which I shall look back with undiluted pleasure.

“In the words of one of my more sympathetic correspondents, it has turned out to be an ‘Annus Horribilis’.”

Prince Harry previously claimed that Meghan Markle was banned from visiting Balmoral after the death of his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2022.

Prince Harry delivered a furious eight-word remark after hearing King Charles had banned Meghan Markle from heading to Balmoral after the late Queen’s death.

As the world learnt of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, further tensions behind closed doors among the royals reportedly began to unfold.

Many members of the Royal Family began to arrive at the Scottish royal residence after the late Queen’s death on September 8, 2022. Harry claimed in his memoir Spare that while he had been invited by King Charles to spend time with the family, his father had explained to him that his wife the Duchess of Sussex was not welcome to Balmoral Castle in that moment of mourning.

King Charles and Princess Anne are said to have been the only two people at the late Queen’s side as she took her final breath on September 8 two years ago at 3.10pm.

Prince William arrived by car at Balmoral at 5.06pm that day, while Harry travelled to the castle separately and arrived after his brother.

A statement released on X at 1.53pm on the day the 96-year-old monarch died said both Harry and Meghan would be making their way to Balmoral as the late Queen’s health was declining.

However, in his memoir Spare, Harry recalled his wife didn’t accompany him to the Scottish estate.

Harry wrote in his book that he received a phone call from his father who, according to the prince, said that he “didn’t want” Meghan to be present.

In the book, Harry wrote: “He [King Charles] said I was welcome at Balmoral, but he didn’t want…her. He started to lay out his reason, which was nonsensical, and disrespectful, and I wasn’t having it.”

In a eight-word remark, Harry that shared that he told his father: “‘Don’t ever speak about my wife that way.’”

Harry continued: “He stammered, apologetic, saying he simply didn’t want a lot of people around.

“No other wives were coming, [Princess] Kate wasn’t coming, he said, therefore Meg shouldn’t. Then that’s all you needed to say. By now it was midafternoon; no more commercial flights that day to Aberdeen. And I still had no response from Willy. My only option, therefore, was a charter out of Luton. I was on board two hours later.”

Royal expert Robert Jobson, speaking to the Daily Telegraph Australia, claimed after the death of the late Queen that King Charles had asked William not to bring Kate to Balmoral, so that Meghan couldn’t come. The expert said: “If Catherine doesn’t come, Meghan can’t either, it’s not appropriate for wives to attend.”

Taking to @remisagoodboy’s post on X, fans pointed out how much they loved her look – especially at how “perfect” the dress was.

Another commented: “Amazing to see The Duchess of Edinburgh supporting Hockey GB! Good luck for the girls today.”
