Her public claims of an affair with David led his wife Victoria Beckham to describe the aftermath as the “hardest period” for both of them. In Tom Bower’s latest book, The House of Beckham: Money, Sex and Power, it’s claimed Rebecca decided to break her silence about her alleged affair with the former England captain after being disgusted by David’s behaviour towards a waitress.

She alleged that she walked in on him in bed with Spanish model Esther Cañadas. It was claimed the incident happened when an upset Posh Spice called Rebecca in order to find her husband – who was said to be at a party at a footballer’s villa.

Rebecca reportedly found him in a bedroom with the model at 3am and told him that she ‘had his wife on the phone’. He got up to answer the call and she claimed she saw the model in the bed, which made her feel ‘very hurt’. Rebecca told her friend at the time: “I thought I was the only one.”

In the days that followed Rebecca’s story dominating headlines around the world, Beckham’s PR team were quick to whip up an image of unity at the snowy Courchevel ski resort to safeguard Brand Beckham’s image. “In a bravura performance, the couple clung to each other with an iron grip on his hand. Then they performed a piggy-back and smiled,” notes Bower in his book.

However, their closed-door affairs weren’t as picture-perfect. “Once the show was over they disappeared into their chalet….as everyone drifted off, one journalist looked through the Beckhams’ chalet window. Posh was slapping Beckham hard on his face. Beckham, famous for his ‘short fuse’, did not retaliate.”

Victoria’s transition to Spain was difficult, making her life there unenjoyable. “Her life in Madrid was lonely and unhappy. Although she had everything money could buy she was isolated. With few friends, she was unwilling to learn Spanish. Her diet, rigorous exercise and chain-smoking reflected her anxieties.”

In recent years, Rebecca has stepped back from the limelight and rarely makes media appearances. She is now a married mother-of-two, Rebecca lives in Norway where she works as a yoga teacher and massage therapist. Opening up in the Netflix docuseries Beckham, David and Victoria explained how damaging the allegations were for their relationship.

She admitted that this was ‘one hundred percent’ the lowest point in their marriage, Victoria shared in the documentary: “It was the hardest period for us. Because it felt like the world was against us. And here’s the thing; we were against each other, if I’m being completely honest.

“Later, Meghan wore a Beckham custom-made pregnancy outfit and a white coat and dress for a service in Westminster Abbey.” He continued: “The financial benefit was nil. The only success in 2019 was a £1,400 handbag that had been displayed by Meghan.”

Meghan and Harry’s relationship with the Beckhams worsened over the years, with Bower claiming Meghan became “irritated” when she found out Victoria is richer than she is. His new book claimed she was annoyed when she found out the Beckhams had “considerably more wealth” than herself.

Cracks started to show in the relationship between the famous families in 2018, according to Bower. While David and Victoria received an invite to Meghan and Harry’s wedding that year, they were not invited to the wedding dinner.

Bower claims things then went from bad to worse when Meghan and Harry were left odd the guest list for Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s wedding. However, Prince William and Princess Kate made the invite list.

In House of Beckham, Bower said Meghan had ranked herself above the Beckhams in the social pecking order. He said: “In Meghan’s celebrity world, ranking depended on wealth and fame. As a seasoned operator, Meghan deluded herself that her status in the Royal Family placed her above Victoria in the social pecking order.”

The Telegraph reports that Meghan penned a “personal letter” to Taylor, inviting her to be part of Archetypes, “but the singer declined, through a representative.”

Prince Harry painfully admitted he didn’t cry when he was told of his mother Princess Diana’s death.

The crash happened early in the morning on August 31, and Diana was pronounced dead at around 4am, with her passing confirmed by the then Foreign Secretary Robin Cook. Harry recalled the moment he and big brother Prince William were told about their mother’s unexpected death in his memoir Spare, and revealed their father Charles struggled to deliver the news while at the royal residence in Balmoral.

However, the young prince confessed he didn’t cry when his father told him of Diana’s death, and was left feeling emotionless as Charles failed to hug him or William. “What I do remember with startling clarity is that I didn’t cry. Not one tear. Pa didn’t hug me. He wasn’t great at showing emotions under normal circumstances, how could he be expected to show them in such a crisis? But his hand did fall once more on my knee and he said: ‘Its going to be OK,’” Harry wrote.

Looking back on the moment, Harry revealed that his father’s words were “so very untrue”, and said that Charles had told William, who was just 15, about Diana’s death first, and then sought out Harry to deliver the tragic and heartbreaking news. After Charles told him Diana had died, he “didn’t get up, I didn’t bathe, didn’t pee,” Harry recalled, and said he didn’t even call for his big brother to come and console him.

In an interview last year, the Duke of Sussex revealed he and William were unable to show emotion as they met with the crowds outside Kensington Palace the the days after Diana’s death. He told ITV’s Tom Bradby he had cried when his mother was buried, but did not cry again. “I cried once, at the burial, and you know I go into detail (in Spare) about how strange it was and how actually there was some guilt that I felt, and I think William felt as well, by walking around the outside of Kensington Palace,” he explained.

“There were 50,000 bouquets of flowers to our mother and there we were shaking people’s hands, smiling… And the wet hands that we were shaking, we couldn’t understand why their hands were wet, but it was all the tears that they were wiping away,” Harry sadly recalled.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may find themselves unable to visit Australia during their global tour, it is claimed, despite the resounding “success” of their recent trip to Nigeria.

Royal correspondent Louise Roberts suggests that the couple, who stepped down as senior royals in 2020, are ready for a ” world tour’” following their successful Nigerian sojourn, but she has criticised them for their previous demands for “privacy”

Speaking to Sky News Australia, she said: “In May, after Nigeria, and that was a successful faux royal tour for them, let’s face it, Harry made the comment they want to do more of this.” On the channel’s Royal Report, Louise added: “(Harry and Meghan) are obsessed with privacy but a world tour is a direct contradiction.”

The reporter also revealed that the Sussexes are ‘unable to travel to Australia’ in the near future due to a potential clash with King Charles and Queen Camilla’s forthcoming tour of the country in October. She stated: “They can’t go where Charles and Camilla will go – they can’t go to Australia.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are undoubtedly two of the most talked-about people in the world – particularly since their relocation to Montecito, California.

Yes, the couple may have left the UK, stepping down from their senior royal roles back in 2020, but from their recent Invictus Games tour of Nigeria to the launch of Meghan Markle’s new American Riviera Orchard brand, they are still more talked about than ever.

This week, it was their popularity that made headlines, as experts opened up about their favourability rating and how it has changed over the years.

A recent YouGov poll revealed the most and least popular members of the Mountbatten-Windsors, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appearing to suffer a major popularity plummet.

The poll saw the Princess of Wales emerge as the most popular member of the royal family, with 76% of those surveyed reporting to have a positive view of her. And close behind in second place was Prince William, with a 73% favourability rating.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were at the other end of the scale, with Prince Harry earning a favourability ranking of 31%, coming behind King Charles (63%), Prince Edward (54%) and Queen Consort Camilla (50%). Not to mention, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, coming in second to last place with a favourability ranking of 26%, with just Prince Andrew below her at 6%.

“It is the biggest plummet in popularity in history,” reported Royal expert Hilary Fordwich this week, via Express.co.uk. “To have gone from the number one most popular royals after the Queen, Harry has now gone to just above Prince Andrew.”

“That plummeting was by choice,” Fordwich continued, alleging the cause as the couple’s departure from working royal life, adding: “Now [Meghan] is releasing jam while Kate is at Trooping the Colour.”

This news comes amid reports that the Duke and Duchess are looking for a permanent UK base, with royal author Tom Quinn explaining via the Mirror that Prince Harry “misses some aspects of his old life” in London, particularly his friends.

“Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles,” the royal author reported. “Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not commented on the reports.

Meghan’s BUSINESS fail, Nigerian BOOED Sussex after LIED 43%, Harry MISSED at Invictus

Meghan Markle probably suspected she wouldn’t gain anything by accompanying Prince Harry to London this week for the 10th anniversary celebration of the Invictus Games, before traveling with him to Nigeria, where she certainly found a much more hospitable welcome on Friday, with even the usually critical Daily Mail saying the couple took “Nigeria by storm.”

On Thursday, the British media made it clear that Harry was snubbed by his own father, King Charles III, and the rest of the British royal family. Charles, still undergoing treatment for cancer, had other “priorities” this week, including a garden party at Buckingham Palace, and wasn’t able to make time to see his younger son, Harry’s spokesperson revealed in a somewhat pointed statement.

Speculation also was rampant that Meghan, who has become pretty unpopular the U.K., wanted to avoid the possibility of being booed outside St. Paul’s Cathedral Wednesday, where the Invictus Games celebration was held.

But that doesn’t mean that the American Duchess of Sussex avoided the U.K. altogether on her trip from California to Nigeria. The Daily Mail reported that Meghan flew into Heathrow Airport from Los Angeles, meeting up with her husband at the airport’s VIP Windsor Suite Thursday evening. From there, the couple boarded a British Airways overnight flight to Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

When the Sussexes arrived in Nigeria just before 5 a.m. Friday, they were welcomed by Nigerian officials, as Daily Mail photos show. The couple turned up later Friday for the first stop in their three-day visit to the West African nation: a mental health summit at the Lightway Academy, a school in Abuja that provides critical health and education services.

At the school, Meghan and Harry received a rapturous welcome, which may have taken away the sting that Harry felt by the king’s “snub” in London. The fact that the king couldn’t find 15 minutes to see Harry on Wednesday, when his son was but two miles away at St. Paul’s Cathedral, is an indication that “the palace gates remain firmly closed” to both the duke and his wife, author Richard Kay wrote in the Daily Mail.

Still, Harry found a crowd of enthusiastic supporters outside St. Paul’s on Wednesday and went up to them to shake hands, TMZ reported. He also told a BBC correspondent at another Invictus-related event in London that it was “great” to be back in his home country.

Nigeria was very excited about bringing the globally famous couple to their country. Harry and Meghan are visiting Nigeria at the invitation of the country’s Defense Ministry, ostensibly to promote the Invictus Games, which offers wounded veterans the challenge of competing in an international sporting event, similar to the Paralympics.

Since their departure from the Royal Family in 2020, Meghan has made few trips back to the UK. One memorable occasion was for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022. The absence of Meghan during Harry’s subsequent visit for King Charles’ coronation in May 2023 added to the ongoing speculation. According to American news presenter Megyn Kelly, Meghan’s decision not to accompany Harry may have been influenced by concerns about facing public scrutiny and potential backlash once more.

 

Following their eviction from Frogmore Cottage, a property gifted to them by the Queen, Harry and Meghan no longer have a home in the UK. This eviction, served by King Charles in January of the previous year, led to the couple returning the keys in June 2023 and relocating their belongings to their new residence in California.

Reports suggest that any future stays at royal residences would necessitate a private agreement with the King, underscoring the complexities of Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the UK and the Royal Family. 

Meghan didn’t join the Prince on his last trip to England on May 8th for the Invictus Games, which Harry holds very dear. Instead she went to Nigeria on an official trip, something that angered the Royal Family very much.

Well the Duchess will maybe even go to England, but not on official visits, not as a Royal, she doesn’t want to add any value to that family. SHE IS DONE WITH THE UK.

Royal author and expert Tom Quinn has claimed that Prince Harry is on the hunt for a “secluded Georgian house” near his father’s Highgrove estate. This comes amid reports that King Charles III is keen to spend more time with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, leading to speculation about the Duke of Sussex’s UK living arrangements.

Quinn told the Mirror: “Harry has spent a lot of time trying to work out what sort of UK base he might have. He has no experience of living in anything other than well protected houses that are also well away from the public, so he has a huge problem. Every house he looks at has drawbacks.”.

However, finding a suitable property could prove challenging for the prince, who is said to be prioritising privacy. Quinn explained: “Apart from the security risks Harry has become increasingly obsessed with his privacy and wants to be well away from prying eyes that was the key reason he was so upset and angry when his father King Charles evicted him from Frogmore Cottage.

Quinn then revealed Harry’s aspirations to own a property similar to his father’s Highgrove residence. He stated: “With no chance of returning to any of the houses in the gift of his family, Harry has looked at buying the kind of secluded Georgian house in its own grounds that his father has at Highgrove in Gloucestershire.”

However, Tom suggested that the cost of security in the UK could be a significant obstacle for Harry, although the benefits for his children might make it worthwhile. He commented: “The fly in the ointment is the fact that Harry doesn’t want to pay for security and he is convinced that a great deal of security would be necessary even if the house was close to his father’s home. On the other hand, the idea of buying a house close to his father means he will be able to come to the UK for short periods with his children so they can have some kind of a relationship with their cousins and their grandfather.”

Meghan Markle has faced a tough few months recently, but things could be about to change for the Duchess of Sussex.

Speculation has been mounting that Meghan is set to return to Instagram and relaunch her popular blog The Tig, with one PR expert suggesting she could overtake her sister-in-law Kate Middleton when it comes to popularity. A recent survey showed Kate and her husband Prince William way out in front in terms of popularity among the public.

However, PR to the stars Mayah Riaz believes this will soon change. Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: “It’s no doubt when Meghan re-joins Instagram she will overtake Kate in terms of popularity.

“Kate’s Instagram is curated with huge precision. There are things which Kate isn’t able to post.”

Kate Middleton seems to have a carefully curated Instagram.

Meghan Markle could rival her sister-in-law with a social media return.

Mayah pointed out how it’s likely Kate has staff posting to social media on her behalf. The PR expert added: “Therefore, it paints a picture perfect life which the Royal Family are keen to portray.”

Meghan stepped down from the Royal Family three years ago, before moving to America with her husband Prince Harry. Mayah said this will allow Meghan to “post what she wishes”.

“She wont have to run it by anyone for approval before posting it,” Mayah explained. Speaking about what we could expect from Meghan’s Instagram, she added: “We can see all aspects of Meghan and her family life.”

Mayah said Meghan is likely to grab widespread media attention with her Instagram account. She told us: “We don’t often see Kate’s Instagram posts making headlines. However, Meghan’s life on Instagram will lead to headlines. We can also expect to hear news of projects announced first on her Instagram.”

Meghan and Harry were recently spotted dancing the night away at Beyoncé’s concert in California. Mayah said: “We have seen footage of Meghan dancing at Beyoncé’s concert as well as public display of affection with Harry. We would never see Kate and William like this.

“This is why there will be day and night difference between Meghan and Kate’s Instagram. Let’s not forget, people who love to hate Meghan will bizarrely still follow Meghan’s Instagram.”

However, she warned Meghan could be targeted by online trolls. “We are more likely to believe that Meghan herself will be posting on her Instagram.” This will lead to an explosion of followers very quickly when it’s confirmed that @meghan is her account.

“Along with the explosion of following, I fear that a lot of it will be trolling. We have seen the amount of hate directed her way on Twitter (X) and sadly, I think that will follow on Instagram too.”
