ITV Loose Women’s Linda Robson left red-faced after extremely awkward blunder

Linda Robson has revealed the awkward moment she was asked to talk about opera music live on screen which resulted in her saying something very unexpected

Loose Women’s Linda Robson has revealed she suffered an extremely awkward blunder.

The actress and television presenter spoke to her fellow Loose ladies during the latest instalment of the ITV programme as they discussed name blunders. It came after Laverne Cox awkwardly got Hannah Waddingham’s name wrong on the Emmys red carpet.

British star Hannah was called “Hannah Waddington” before reminding Laverne who stars in Orange is the New Black that it was “Waddingham” – on three occasions. She added: “Get it right.” Before parting ways, the 51-year-old host made a point to put emphasise that the actress’ name was “Waddingham, not ton,” to which Hannah reminded her how important it is to “get it right” once again.

During Loose Women, the stars recalled their own experiences as Linda revealed she’s suffered blunders on more than one occasion. She said: “People do it to me all the time, I was Anita Dobson last week,” before adding: “I did this series once called Jobs for the Girls and we had to do opera singing with Lesley Garrett and Pauline Quirke at Kenwood.

“I went to see Pavorotti at The Royal Albert Hall, as far as I know, the person who was supposed to be doing the chat while he was off stage having his ice cream had dropped out. They came to me and said ‘Oh we need 15 minutes to fill, could you come and talk about opera for 15 minutes?’”

Linda went on to explain: “I thought ‘I don’t know anything about opera!’ This is live television, I think it was Mary Nightingale who had to interview me and I said ‘Well I can’t really understand because they’re singing it in a foreign language, they should have subtitles, shouldn’t they!’

“I said ‘He keeps going off for an ice cream every five minutes while we’re sitting here waiting for him to come back on again!’ It was like the longest 15 minutes of my life. I was trying to pad it out as much as I could but I was just digging a hole and it was getting worse and worse.”

Meanwhile, Brenda Edwards went on to reveal her own blunder which involved being in bed with somebody. But she was keen to point out that she didn’t get an individual’s name wrong. “I have and I’ve apologised,” she said of getting someone’s name wrong before explaining: “It’s happened to me and the person apologised. It’s worse when they’re saying you’re in bed and it’s someone else’s name! I didn’t do that… It’s happened!”

Ruth Langsford leaves Loose Women in hysterics after asking Sue and Noel Radford intimate question

Ruth Langsford was left red-faced after she asked Sue and Noel Radford an intimate question on Loose Women as they discussed the new series of 22 Kids and Counting

On Loose Women, Ruth Langsford triggered a wave of laughter when she unintentionally asked Sue and Noel Radford an intimate question about their personal time.

Ruth, joined by fellow panellists Christine Lampard, Janet Street-Porter, Gloria Hunniford and Brenda Edwards, talked to the couple known for their large family from the show 22 Kids and Counting. Ruth stumbled over her words while asking them if they ever had “alone time” away from their children and her remarks sent the studio into fits of laughter.

“What about you two? Do you ever get some time – well, we know you get alone time, with all of those children,” she joked. Trying to clarify her point, she added, “Do you ever just the two of you, you know, go out for lunch? Or a dinner?” Parent-of-22 Noel clarified that he and Sue make sure to set aside time for each other.

“We try to, we went out last week. It was only for an hour or two but it’s just nice to be together on our own,” he told the panel. Sue shared her parenting wisdom and said: “I think you have to make the time, don’t you? When you’ve got a lot of children and you’ve got a lot going on in your life. You’ve got to make time as a couple. You have to.”

The latest episode had Sue and Noel deciding they needed to move houses to give their kids more “privacy”. But this left the viewers split when it came out that their dream house was a squeeze for all the kids. It comes after Sue and Noel revealed they will be releasing their first book together. The news was shared by Sue and Noel on Instagram following the return of 22 Kids and Counting. The latest series of the family’s reality TV show launched on Channel 5 earlier this month. It was said that writing a book is “something [Sue and Noel have] wanted to do for a long time”. She will be playing the character Corral in the stage play ‘The Gap’, which will start showing at Hope Mill Theatre on February 9 and run until March.

Lots of fans were quick to show their praise for Denise’s picture. Jumping into the comments, one fan wrote: “You look amazing, definitely going to break the internet.” Another follower commented: “Holy sh*t!!! U look insanely hot….get it mama, show em how it’s done properly.” A third admirer said: “Those legs!” Someone else added: “One hot mama.”

It comes after Denise recently had to put her fans’ minds at rest after a cruel hoax claimed she had passed away. The TVb star took to her social media last week to let everyone know she was still very much with us. After noticing her name was trending because someone changed her Wikipedia page to suggest she’d died.

She assured her fans that she was actually watching I’m a Celebrity and alive and well. She wrote: “I’m alive and well and about to watch the jungle. Thanks for your concern”.

  • ITV Loose Women in chaos as two stars set to quit the show over ‘unacceptable’ change

ITV Loose Women in chaos as two stars set to quit the show over ‘unacceptable’ change

Two long-running Loose Women stars are reportedly set to quit the daytime TV show after ITV brought in PAYE-only contracts, which could spark a major panel shake-up

Two Loose Women stars have reportedly ‘quit’ the show following a row over contracts.

Long-running panellists Janet Street-Porter, 77, and Jane Moore, 61, are said to be in talks with ITV bosses who want them to sign contracts saying they are permanent employees rather than freelance journalists. The new contract row follows former Loose Women panelist Carol Griffin exiting the show for similar reasons last year.

Jane, who anchored the popular daytime show from 1999 to 2002 before returning as a regular panellist in 2013, hasn’t been seen on the panel since December 29. Janet, who has been a Loose Women regular since 2011, has continued to appear, though the issues are still not thought to be resolved.

The row is said to be down to ITV’s new PAYE-only contracts policy, in response to HMRC’s crackdown on off-payroll working rules – or IR35 – to ensure that freelancers broadly pay the same income tax and national insurance as employees. Sources claim that Janet and Jane, who have both been freelance for decades and work on other projects, are “furious” over the “unacceptable” contract change, which do not offer holiday, sick pay or pensions and forbid some work opportunities – especially as Jane only appeared on the show 10 times last year.

Despite “loving” working on Loose Women, the pair may be ready to walk, following in the footsteps of former panellist Carol McGiffin, who quit after refusing to sign a similar contract last year. A source told MailOnline: “Jane and Janet are furious. They have done such a lot of work for that show and they love it – but they do work across different companies and, as journalists, value their independent status. Things have got pretty tense. If it carries on, there might be a big change to the line-up.”

A spokesperson for ITV told The Mirror: “We don’t comment on individual cases, but ITV ensures that it complies with and follows all HMRC guidance and legislation.” The Mirror has reached out to representatives for both Jane and Janet for further comment on this story.

Speaking in May last year, Carol said “no one in their right mind” would sign the contract which she called “totally unjust and unworkable for me”. During an appearance on GB News, the TV star said she no longer watches the show and claimed it’s become too ‘woke’ for her. Many of ITV’s biggest stars have recently been in battles with HMRC, including Loose Women star Kaye Adams. The 61-year-old recently won a 10-year fight with the tax man over IR35 rules, but said the experience had left her feeling “utterly beaten up and gas lit”, even comparing it to how Post Office postmasters were treated in the Horizon computer scandal.

Former Good Morning Britain host Eamonn Holmes recently lost two HMRC appeals over whether he was freelance or staff at ITV. He revealed he had been forced to sell his beloved house in Belfast to pay £250,000 in backdated tax, as well as facing “hundreds of thousands” in legal fees.

  • ITV Loose Women’s Rosie Jones issues amazing six-word response to vile ableist trolls

ITV Loose Women’s Rosie Jones issues amazing six-word response to vile ableist trolls

Rosie Jones joined her co-stars Katherine Ryan and Judi Love on Thursday’s edition of Loose Women as the comedians spoke about their latest TV offering and vile online abuse

Rosie Jones had a sharp six-word comeback to vile troll as she appeared on Loose Women earlier this week.

The comedian was on the ITV show with fellow comics Katherine Ryan and Judi Love on Thursday, talking about their new TV show. Charlene White was leading the show’s panel with Gavin and Stacey actress Joanna Page, former Love Island star Olivia Attwood, and Judi by her side as she hosted chats and debates.

The 43 year old ITV host asked Rosie about the vile trolling she is often subjected to online, specifically the latest round of abuse that show Rosie take a step back from social media for while.

The trolling took place following Rosie’s appearance The Royal Variety Show and Big Fat Quiz of the Year in December. Rosie, who is 33 and has cerebral palsy, was on the comedy quiz show with Jimmy Carr, Mo Gilligan, Katherine Ryan, Richard Ayoade, Mel Giedroyc, and Kevin Bridges.

Shortly after the Channel 4 show aired, Rosie told her fans she was staying out of the public eye for a while because of the sickening comments people were making about her, including albelist comments about her disabilities.

On Thursday’s Loose Women, Charlene asked Rosie: “The last time you made headlines was just in January last month, when so many people again were sending you messages on Twitter and Instagram about your appearance on Big Fat Quiz of the Year. Does that affect you in any way?”

Rosie Jones was joined on the panel by Katherine Ryan

Rosie gave a quick reply that showed she didn’t care about the trolls, and the viewers of Loose Women thought she was great. The funny woman declared: “No. Because I know they’re wrong.” Rosie’s words got a big cheer inside the ITV studio as she was thanked for standing up to mean people online.

The comedian went on to add: “I won’t be flippant about it. It does affect me. Being a comedian it opens you up to abuse. Comedy is so subjective. But when you add on being a woman, being gay and most importantly being disabled I don’t look and sound like a stereotypical comic and that makes people angry. I think when it comes to disability it’s much easier to be put me into a box of whether you are a vulnerable victim or an inspiration who wins gold medals for her country.” She joked: “I’m neither. I’m a silly little lady who talks about her boobs.”

Loose Women viewers watching at home were quick to praise Rosie on social media as the ITV show aired, with one writing: “Rosie truly is an inspiration. People who troll her have to be so insecure in themselves #LooseWomen.” Another added: “Oh Bless Rosie Jones! The Abusers are very wrong! ! ! ! ! #loosewomen.” A third declared: “Rosie Jones, on her first presenting role, God Love her. Amazing woman, she has every right to be proud. #loosewomen.”

After being on the Channel 4 quiz show on Boxing Day, Rosie talked about getting the same nasty comments she got after The Royal Variety Show and said she was going to take it easy over Christmas. She tweeted to her followers: “Rinse and repeat. Different telly show, same old ableism. Thanks for the support, but I’m gonna lie low for a bit and sink into the perineum of Christmas and New Year.”

  • ITV Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan in tears on stage in emotional video as she shares advice with fans

ITV Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan in tears on stage in emotional video as she shares advice with fans

Loose Women panelist Coleen Nolan shared a video recently in which she was seen looking emotional as she came off stage on her solo tour, which concluded earlier this week

Coleen Nolan was emotional on the final night of her first solo tour and she has since shared advice with her fans after having taken on the “really scary” opportunity.

The singer, 59, embarked on her Naked tour last month and has since performed in a number of venues in the UK, prior to the final show in Swansea on Thursday night. Coleen later expressed gratitude over the experience on social media.

The Loose Women panelist took Instagram to mark the occasion, sharing a compilation video of footage from the final night of the tour. It began with a clip of a teary-eyed Coleen coming off the stage at theatre Swansea Grand.

She was then seen sitting in a makeup chair backstage at the theatre, where she opened up about the tour and gave advice to fans. Coleen said: “So it’s the last night of the tour. I’m really sad that it’s come to an end. I can’t believe I did it.”

The performer further commented: “I never thought I’d get to do it again and I did! I felt the fear and I did it anyway! I feel really proud of myself cause it was a really scary thing to do and I’ve loved it. And it’s no feeling like live performance.”

She added: “I guess my message to anyone out there who is … y’know wants to do something and thinks they’re too old or they can’t do it but they’d like to but they’re too scared – I would say ‘go and do it,’ because failure for me comes from not trying. If you try something and you fail at it, it’s still a success because you tried. Just don’t live with regrets.”

Another clip showed her son Shane Nolan, 35, who was her support act, greeting Coleen and her vocal team backstage ahead of the final show. He said: “Can I just interrupt guys? Just want to say a few words. It’s been an absolute pleasure … I’m gonna cry … being your support act and having everyone here, you’re the best and we all love ya.”

Coleen was seen being gifted presents from her colleagues on the tour, which included a signed copy of the tour poster and a framed photo from one of the shows. She then teased in the clip: “Tonight’s gonna be a bit too emotional for me.”

Later in the footage, Coleen was seen wiping her eyes as she faced a standing ovation from the audience. Visibly emotional, she waved at the crowd before heading off stage, with the end of the clip having been seen earlier in the video.

The compilation video was shared by Coleen on Friday, with her writing alongside it: “Wow.. what a ride. Thank you to everyone involved for making a dream of mine come true.” She went on to thank people involved with the tour.

It included describing Shane as the “best support on and off stage”. Coleen concluded: “Finally to every single one of you who came and supported me, from the bottom of my heart, I will never forget you. Thank you, thank you … I love you all.”

Coleen Nolan reveals she almost quit her TV career after Kim Woodburn feud

Loose Women’s panellist Coleen Nolan opened up about her famous feud with Kim Woodburn – which saw the latter storm off the ITV talk show after an intense row

Coleen Nolan revealed she almost quit her entire television career following her famous feud with Kim Woodburn.

The 59-year-old presenter and singer was on Celebrity Big Brother with icon Kim in 2017. During their stint on the programme, Kim claimed Loose Women panellist Coleen had ganged up on her with seven other housemates to bully her – which Coleen vehemently denied. Kim was later invited to appear on Loose Women to put the drama behind but things quickly turned sour.

But despite her best intentions, hopes of a friendly reunion went down the drain when Kim lost her cool and called Coleen “trash” among other things, while Coleen calmly sat on the panel next to her sister Linda. Her co-star Janet Street-Porter sat in between the warring pair wearing a judge’s robes and a gavel, as the strapline ‘Can Coleen and Kim end their feud?’ ran across the bottom of the screen.

After a heated back and forth, Kim stormed off set while Linda told her: “You’re showing your true colours, Kim.” And now, Coleen has opened up about the shocking row during a Q&A session at her Naked Tour in Sunderland. The presenter said she knew the interview would turn to shambles.

“It was exactly how I thought it was going to be and I told them that’s what she was gonna do but no one listened to me,” Coleen explained. “And then I can honestly say it was the worst time of my life. I very nearly threw the towel in and thought I couldn’t do it anymore. And then I thought…’I’m not going to let Kim Woodburn finish my career…she’s a cleaning lady!’”

While in the Big Brother house, Kim frequently bickered with her housemates who she claimed ‘bullied’ her – Coleen included, who she later described as “two-faced”. After leaving the show, Kim said in an interview: “How that woman won, when Jedward were sitting there, I have no idea. Public, I don’t know how you could let that boring fag ash Lil (win), with what I now know to be a rotten mouth. She shouldn’t have won that show. I’m a bit tired of all these people on Loose Women winning.”

When producers finally got Kim on Loose Women to discuss her feud with Coleen, all hell broke loose. As their war of words heated up, Coleen said her biggest mistake was not telling “antagonistic” Kim “how vile she was from day one” and that she “wanted to go at people all the time”.
“I was very upset in that house and I pretended I wasn’t,” Kym spat back, her voice wobbling as she fought to keep her emotions in check. I was terribly upset; they picked on me. This one [pointing to Coleen], ‘cup of tea Kim, cup of tea?’ everyday and behind my back they were slagging me off”I don’t want to draw a line under it…I will never forget what the likes of this one and seven others put me through…I will never forget it because it was sad, awful and it was bloody cruel!” She was quick to storm off set while Coleen remained in her sit as her colleagues defended her.

Jemele Hill has a serious issue with Caitlin Clark, but it’s not from something she did or said, but from the media who covers her.

Caitlin Clark, the Iowa Hawkeyes superstar, is the biggest name in women’s college basketball over the past few years and it’s not even close. She has been billed as the female Stephen Curry and draws eyes to her just like him.

Not only do fans flock to see her, but the media coverage of her is insane, which is a problem for Jemele Hill.

The former ESPN host is arguing that the media covers white players like Caitlin Clark much more differently than they do with Black players.

“Everything about this sport has been trending up for years now. It did not just start with Caitlin Clark,” Hill said in an interview with Uproxx.

“A study I cited recently for a piece I wrote in The Atlantic [found that] when you compare [the coverage] of, say, someone like (Paige) Bueckers, Sabrina Ionescu, or Caitlin Clark to A’ja Wilson, who has dominated basketball at every single level. She’s probably the best player in the world right now. And I’m not trying to act like she gets no coverage, but the coverage that sometimes non-white women get, or specifically Black women get, is not even close. It’s two-to-one,” Hill added.

Hill further added that A’ja Wilson, arguably the best player in the world, deserved more coverage than what Caitlin Clark is getting right now.

“I mean, Aliyah Boston was the best player in college just a couple of years ago. And she did not get even a 10th of this media coverage that Caitlin Clark did. Now, some people would say, ‘Oh, it’s her game.’ But I don’t think it was that. She’s tremendous on television, and I’m thinking, What a missed opportunity for the national media to really elevate who she was as a person. Caitlin Clark seems to be a great personality, but it is not like Caitlin Clark is walking around saying crazy stuff. They’re just covering her excellence, and that’s good enough. Whereas it feels like for Black athletes to get the same amount of coverage or even fair coverage, there has to be something extra [beyond basketball].”

Clark is having a fabulous run with the No. 1-seeded Iowa in her senior year. The superstar guard has broken several NCAA records as she looks to add a National Championship to her resume before she departs to the WNBA after the year.

Despite what Jemele Hill may think, Clark will not only be etched in college basketball history for her incredible scoring feats but also for her overall impact on the women’s game.

Caitlin Clark Has The Superstar Power To Take The WNBA To New Heights

Caitlin Clark (Photo by Sarah Stier/Getty Images)

Caitlin Clark is a ratings and attendance darling in college, and she can bring that excitement surrounding her to the WNBA and that is a good thing for everyone.

Not only can she be a draw for her home fans, but also for other fan bases on the road. The WNA is already trending upward and Clark will only help it go to even bigger heights with her presence.

Everyone should be rooting that she turns out to be the WNBA version of Stephen Curry.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are caught up in a legal tussle that could see them lose their lavish £12 million Montecito home, as the controversy over the Duke of Sussex’s US visa intensifies.

In a bold move last year, the Heritage Foundation filed a lawsuit demanding that the Biden administration disclose Harry’s US visa records, particularly to clarify if his self-confessed drug use was ever mentioned.

Harry’s candid revelations about his past drug experiences in his explosive memoir ‘Spare’, released in January 2023, have sparked speculation about whether these admissions were reflected in his visa application.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams spoke to The Sun about the potential PR nightmare this could spell for Prince Harry.

He commented: “The fact of the matter is that it will be very embarrassing, or may be very embarrassing.”, reports the Express.

“Harry may have included drug use on his application form. If he hasn’t, it will unquestionably make headlines, and that will not be beneficial so far as the Sussexes are concerned.”

Fitzwilliams also pointed out that the Sussexes’ vocal criticism of the Royal Family might backfire, with accusations of hypocrisy looming over them.

He continued: “If you attack an institution, supporters of that institution, or those who believe that you’ve been very unwise and very foolish, believe that there are double standards.”

Should the visa issue escalate, Prince Harry faces the stark possibility of deportation from the US, which would mean abandoning the couple’s £12m dream house in California, where they live with their children Archie and Lilibet.

Drug use can lead to the rejection of non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications, although immigration officers have the discretion to make the final call, considering various factors.

A US judge is currently examining the case, with a verdict expected in the coming weeks.

The Department of Homeland Security has insisted that this information should be kept confidential and stated it will not be disclosed during President Biden’s tenure.

The youngster was born on June 4, 2021, California, US, and named after her late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. Her parents also honoured Harry’s late mother by giving her the middle name, Diana.

While this years’ celebrations were a low-key affair, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex gave fans an insight into their private life after they shared a clip of one of their daughter’s previous birthdays. The clip was taken during festivities at Frogmore Cottage and share in their Netflix docuseries and fans couldn’t help notice how much Lilibet looks like one Royal Family member.

Megan provided a sweet insight into Lilibet’s personality during a visit to the Lightway Academy in Abuja, ahead of the little one’s birthday. Taking part in a conversation about mental health, the Duchess of Sussex said: “Our daughter, Lili, she’s much, much tinier than you guys. She’s about to turn three.

“And a few weeks ago she looked at me and she would just see the reflection in my eyes. And she said ‘Mama, I see me in you’. Oh, now she was talking really, literally. But I hung onto those words in a very different way. And I thought, yes, I do see me and you, and you see me and you, but as I look around this room, I see myself in all of you as well.”
