Prince Harry will appear in a new documentary about phone hacking, ITV has announced.

The Duke of Sussex has sat down with reporter Becca Barry where he discussed his aim to expose what he describes as “illegal activities of Britain’s tabloid newspapers”.

The show, which also features Hugh Grant, Charlotte Church and Paul Gascoigne, and is titled “Tabloids on Trial”, will air on ITV1 on July 25 at 9pm.

The Duke of Sussex declared war against the British media long before he and wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working royals in 2020.

Harry has brought a total of six cases against the media over the last few years.

The royal has blamed UK tabloids for intruding his life and hounding his wife as well as his mother, the late Princess of Wales.

He has also accused the press and the Government of being at “rock bottom”, “corrupt” and “biased”.

In a witness statement for his High Court privacy case against MGN last year, Harry said in a written statement: “In my view, in order to save journalism as a profession, journalists need to expose those people in the media that have stolen or highjacked the privileges and powers of the press, and have used illegal or unlawful means for their own gain and agendas.

“I feel that I need to make sure that this unlawful behaviour is exposed, because obviously I don’t want anybody else going through the same thing that I’ve been going through on a personal level.

“But also on a national level as, at the moment, our country is judged globally by the state of our press and our Government – both of which I believe are at rock bottom.”

During his infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021, Harry also said: “If the source of the information is inherently corrupt or racist or biased, then that filters out to the rest of society.”

The Royal Family have wished England’s football team the best of luck ahead of their Euro semi-final clash against the Netherlands tonight.

But their good luck message is slightly unusual, as it shows the Palace band playing a rendition of ‘Three Lions’ at today’s Changing of the Guard.

Standing outside Buckingham Palace, the brass band performs to the crowds gathered outside the gates.

Sharing the 30-second-long video on social media, they said: “Wishing the best of luck to England in tonight’s game!”

This evening England will play the Netherlands in Dortmund, with the winners taking on Spain in the tournament final scheduled for this Sunday.

Prince William is President of the FA and has attended many England matches so far, including their dramatic quarter-final penalties win over Switzerland. But he is not expected to head to Germany to watch the game tonight.

England manager Gareth Southgate appears to have made a decision on his squad for the match as he hopes to replicate the success of last Saturday’s game.

His team’s success last weekend was watched keenly by William who reacted with fist-pumping and cheering as he watched his beloved England progress to the semi-finals.

It initially looked like England would be crashing out of the Euros following Switzerland’s goal towards the end of the match, however, Bukayo Saka equalised in the 80th minute sending the crowds into a frenzy.

It is hoped that Princess Kate will be well enough to attend the finals at Wimbledon this weekend, but there is a back-up plan in place.

Whereas, Princess Kate’s possible replacement to present the winner’s trophies at Wimbledon has been revealed, and it’s someone many royal fans might not recognise.

As patron of the All England Club the Princess of Wales has presented trophies to the tennis champions since 2016, but her ongoing cancer treatment has raised questions over whether she will feel well enough to do so this weekend.

Kate has only made one public appearance so far this year, at Trooping the Colour last month, but if she is unavailable the Duchess of Gloucester is being lined up to present the awards, according to The Telegraph.

All England Club Chair Debbie Jevans told the publication that officials at Wimbledon would remain “flexible” on arrangements, with a final decision on presenting duties not expected to be made until the morning of the women’s final on Saturday.

Kensington Palace has not confirmed any engagements for the Princess in the foreseeable future as she continues to receive preventative chemotherapy.

A fortnight ago Ms Jevans said she was “hopeful” that the Princess would be at Wimbledon, however it has been reported that during informal discussions the Duchess had emerged as a replacement candidate.

The Duchess of Gloucester was born in Denmark and was known as Birgitte van Deurs Henriksen before she married Prince Richard, the Duke of Gloucester in 1972.

She is equally as big a tenns fan as Kate and has been an Honorary President of the Lawn Tennis Association for 25 years, having already been spotted at the tournament as a guest of the All England Club last week.

Prince William will be unavailable to present the trophies as he is likely to be in Germany for the final of Euro 2024, with England set to play the Netherlands in the semi-final on Wednesday.

As President of the FA William has been cheering his beloved England on for many matches as the royal summer of sport reaches its climax this weekend.

It is hugely important for Wimbledon to have royal support, with the potential optics of the Princess handing a trophy over to a Russian player said to be part of the reason tennis players from Russia were banned following the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

Ms Jevans previously said: “We’re hopeful that the Princess of Wales will be able to present the trophies as the Club’s patron, but her health and recovery is the priority.

“We don’t know what we don’t know. All we’ve said is that we’ll work with her and give her as much flexibility as possible.

“I don’t know who would present the trophies as an alternative – that’s something to consider nearer the time if necessary. We’re staying flexible. When we hear we’ll then think about what’s the right thing to do.”

Even if Kate cannot attend her parents Carole and Michael Middleton were spotted enjoying the matches on Centre Court last week.

Earlier, Kate Middleton rejoined Prince William in public engagements for the first time since revealing her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

In a joint post with Prince William, the Princess of Wales, 41, highlighted mental health issues affecting young farmers. The royal couple shared their project on X (formerly Twitter) through the Kensington Royal account, stating: “This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we’ve brought together the inspirational Sam Stables from We Are Farming Minds and the brilliant Farmer Will for a very special film.” They noted the importance of discussing mental health within the farming community and highlighted the Duchy of Cornwall’s Mental Health Strategy.

Although Princess Catherine does not appear in the video, her involvement in its production alongside Prince William is evident. The project began before her illness, showcasing her longstanding commitment to mental health advocacy. The public last heard from the Princess in a moving video where she requested privacy as she began preventative chemotherapy. This announcement in March followed speculation regarding her absence after planned abdominal surgery in January. Initially not thought to be cancerous, a subsequent diagnosis confirmed the presence of the disease.

Kate has spoken about the delicate process of discussing her health with her children, George, Charlotte, and Louis.

Meghan Markle ‘ready to make peace with Princess Kate’ as popularity plummet

Relations between Meghan Markle and Princess Kate have seemingly crumbled, but the Duchess of Sussex apparently wants to make things right.

Meghan Markle wants to “make peace” with Princess Kate as she has some “regrets” over how things played out between them, according to a source.

Ever since the Duchess married Prince Harry, there have seemingly been tensions between the pair, especially when it was alleged that Meghan had made Kate cry in a row over bridesmaids’ dresses before her 2018 wedding.

However it was later clarified that it was in fact Meghan who had been crying and Kate subsequently sent flowers to apologise, yet it appears they did little to affirm the friendship between the two women.

The royal wives have now not seen each other since September 2022, when Harry and Meghan travelled over to the UK for Queen Elizabeth II’s state funeral.

But a source has now told In Touch magazine that Meghan is ready for a reconciliation with Kate, saying: “She wants to make peace with Kate. She doesn’t want any bad blood between them.

“Meghan’s friends say she regrets how things went down and she never meant any harm to Kate. Though she must realise she could’ve done things differently.

“Meghan’s been going out of her way to show concern for Kate in this difficult time.”

In March this year the Princess of Wales put out an emotional video message confirming she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer following abdominal surgery.

Once the news went public Harry and Meghan posted a message of support for Kate which read: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

It is also believed that the Sussexes likely reached out to Kate in private too, despite Harry and Prince William being at loggerheads and barely on speaking terms.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told The Sun why the Waleses did not tell Harry and Meghan about Kate’s illness before the news was made public: “Well of course there is a reason for that, it’s obvious. There’s a deep rift between the brothers, that we know. We also know that they haven’t, apparently, spoken in many months.

“The reason of course is that for some four years, they’ve caused endless problems for the Royal Family and so they can’t be trusted. Prince William hasn’t trusted Harry and Meghan with good reason.”

This comes as the latest polls suggest Meghan’s popularity in the UK is dramatically low, as she is particularly disliked amongst the older generations.

A poll for the Mail on Sunday was conducted by Ipsos in May this year, with 2,116 British adults being surveyed on how they viewed Meghan and other members of the Royal Family.

Only a quarter (25 percent) of those surveyed are a fan of the Duchess of Sussex and 31 percent of those viewed Prince Harry positively.

Although Meghan is more popular with young people – with 42 percent of 18 to 34 year-olds viewing her favourably – that figure dropped to just 12 percent of 55 to 75-year-olds.

Prince Harry has had a “very upsetting shock” after his strongly worded defence of wife Meghan Markle was quietly deleted by the Royal Family.

 

The Duke of Sussex issued the statement against the press in November 2016 as he raged at the media for “racial undertones” in regards to his then girlfriend Meghan. But in a surprising move Harry’s staunch defence has been removed from royal.co.uk after seven years.

Now, royal author Tom Quinn, claims the removal was a “very upsetting shock” for Harry.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, he said: “The statement was a scathing attack on the press and King Charles knows that he needs to keep the press on the side and work with rather than against the media.

“For Harry removing the statement will be a real and very upsetting shock – he will see this as the Royal Family shutting him down, erasing an important part of the anti-media crusade Harry has waged for so long.”

Tom says Harry would have wanted the statement to remain on the Royal website “as a permanent reminder that Meghan and Harry are victims not aggressors.”

Harry’s statement was released by former Kensington Palace communications secretary Jason Knauf days after Harry’s relationship with Meghan was made public.

 

It came following an article in The Mail on Sunday which read: “Harry’s girl is (almost) straight outta Compton: Gang-scarred home of her mother revealed—so will he be dropping by for tea?”

The statement read: “His girlfriend, Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment.

“Some of this has been very public – the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.

“Some of it has been hidden from the public – the nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life.”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Prince Harry “can’t believe” he’s not in the VIP category that would afford him automatic state security as his legal row with the UK government rolls on, an expert claims.

 

News broke this week that the Prince has been given the green light to appeal a case he lost in the High Court against the Home Office, which downgraded his protection detail after he stepped back as a senior royal in 2020.

Kate Middleton’s love for sports has taken a back seat due to a major reason.
The Princess of Wales, who is an avid player of tennis, got herself laid back from the activity after welcoming son, Prince Louis.

In 2018, during a visit to Bond Primary School in Mitcham, South London, Kate admitted the reason she left playing tennis.
She told and admirer: “I’ve got lots of babies”. She said: “I love tennis, I think it’s a great sport, I was really sporty when I was little, less so now that I’ve got lots of babies!”

This comes as Kate famously faced off tennis star Rodger Federer to collect funds for Action for Children and the Lawn Tennis Association Foundation.

The two also featured in a video where Federer asks the Princess for a match.
He says in the clip: “Shall we play some tennis?”, with the Princess responding: “Yes, please.”

She said: “To see the training and the dedication and the amount of time that is put into the training and making sure this goes well on the day for the champions who are playing at Wimbledon. Yeah, it’s incredible to see it behind the scenes.

Years ago, when Harry and Meghan decided to not only leave the royal family but accuse them of horrendous things on television, Meghan claimed that members of the royal family expressed concern over the skin color of her unborn son, Archie. Late last year, Omid Scobie, longtime royal journalist and author of Finding Freedom: Harry and Megan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, revealed in his book, Endgame, that Kate Middleton was supposedly one of these individuals.

Scobie has since claimed that the publication of Kate Middleton’s name was the mistake of translators and that he made no such accusation (the translators responded that they were simply translating what was written), but the damage was done. Many people accused Kate Middleton and the royal family of racism, and worst of all, Harry and Meghan never spoke out on the topic, despite their constant claims that the royal family never did anything to stop negative media attention on them.

Prince Harry & Kate Middleton Aren’t Close

Now, there has been much chatter over Kate Middleton’s health status, after she underwent a “planned abdominal surgery” in mid-January, and hasn’t officially been seen since. While the royal family did preface the surgery by saying that Kate would be recovering until Easter, which falls on the last day of March, the recent photoshop scandal has led to rumors over what’s really going on with Kate Middleton.

Through all of this, Prince Harry reportedly “hasn’t” reached out to check in on his sister-in-law. Christopher Anderson, author of William and Kate: A Royal Love Story spoke to Us Weekly on the topic. “I think there was once a relationship, a friendship, a very close one between Harry and Kate,” he said. “I’m sure he’s concerned about her as well, but I know that she wants to have nothing to do with them.”

Citing her recent health scare and photoshop scandal, he added that the Princess of Wales has “her own problems now.”

When asked if Harry had reached out to Kate to at least check in on her after her seemingly serious surgery, Anderson responded, “My understanding is he hasn’t, and it is a stalemate. They’re both on opposite sides of this wall and nobody has the courage to leap over it and really make an honest attempt.”

Kate Middleton could be gearing for a major heartbreak over future of her kids in the wake of King Charles, Prince William’s plans for a slimmed-down monarchy.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, royal author Kate Williams discussed possibility of the pair’s younger kids, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, moving to London in their capacity as non-working royals in the future.

A friend of the Prince of Wales previously divulged the royal’s plans to follow in the footsteps of his father and keep the siblings away from duties when he becomes King in a conversation with the Daily Mail.

Reflecting on Charles’ decision to open Buckingham Palace to the public, Williams explained its importance in generating income for the royal collection.

Meanwhile, the 75-year-old uses Clarence House as his London home with Queen Camilla.
“On one hand, these palaces are great homes being conserved for future generations,” the royal author told the outlet. “On the other hand, they generate a lot of income for the royal collection and are great to visit.”

She explained: “We understand that King Charles is aiming for a slimmed-down Royal Family, so it means [minor royals] may have to go and live in non-palaces.

“He doesn’t really live in Buckingham Palace at the moment, he’s renovating it and using it more as an office.”
She added: “And it will be interesting to see how Prince William might approach them if he still has children living with him.

“Maybe in the future we’ll see Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis getting a flat in Shoreditch together.

The actress, 83, has been busy making personalised videos for fans since March 2020 as she admitted she’ll do anything for money.

The Harry Potter star told Kaye Adams, Denise Welch, Olivia Attwood and Nadia Sawalha on the ITV lunchtime show that she is busy saving for when she eventually ‘needs carers’.

Miriam charges a staggering $170 (£135) plus for each video which can be either a birthday message, pep talk, a roast, advice or a question answered. Her average video length is two minutes long.

While discussing her money making side job, Miriam, who is known for her potty-mouth, instantly dropped a swear word during the lunchtime show.

She is famously very outspoken and has let slip many swear words and X-rated comments during her TV appearances over the years.

She said: ‘Since Covid I have made £365,000 through cameos and personalised videos.

‘One day I will need carers. I want to be comfortable and I want them to be properly paid for.

‘It is really because I want to make money though and they pay me to do it.’

Jokingly, Kaye asked: ‘Is there anything you wouldn’t do for money?’

She replied: ‘I wouldn’t ‘eat s***’. Am I allowed to say that?

‘No’, replied Kaye.

‘Oh ok I wouldn’t eat faeces’, she added.

The star is known for openly expressing her feelings and over the years she has given her verdict on a number of A-lister celebrities including Lily Allen and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Earlier this year, Miriam was asked which celebrities she dislikes and revealed she had a less than favourable experience with singer Lily Allen when the two appeared together on The Graham Norton Show back in 2014.

In a 2014 episode of BBC’s The Graham Norton Show, Miriam, 83, was a guest alongside Dominic Cooper and Lily Allen, 39.

Yet Miriam clashed with Lily, with the actress explaining:  ‘She thought when she was on the programme that it was all about her.’

Miriam continued: ‘She thought: “Who is this woman? Miriam who?” She wasn’t friendly and I didn’t like that and so I showed my dislike, which wasn’t very nice of me because she was much younger than me and I should have just taught her how to behave.’

The star discussed working alongside Leonardo in the 1996 Baz Luhrmann adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.
