Real reason Sussexes might never reconcile with Prince William and Princess Kate

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle LIVE: Couple might ‘never reconcile’ with William and Kate

According to a well-placed source, the Duke of Sussex can only do one thing to get back into the royal fold.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been out of the royal fold for some years now, after stepping away from their formal duties in 2020.

Since then a litany of tell-all bombshells have landed at the feet of Prince William and Princess Kate, all fired from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The most notable of which came in Harry’s memoir Spare in which he made a series of accusations, namely about his brother.

Relations between the families have been frosty at best since then, and despite putting on a show of strength following the death of the Queen, the ties between the middle-aged princes appear to have been severed.

However, there is one thing Prince Harry can do to get back into the picture according to King Charles’ former butler, Grant Harrold.

Mr Harrold told the New York Post: “The only way I see this happening is a public statement from Harry, where you come out and say that you were in a bad space and that [Spare] was a mistake. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Some bad things were said, and some families never patch things up, and that’s how it is forevermore.”

Mr Harrold said it would be hard for Harry to reconcile with Prince William and Princess Kate, because “too much damage” has been done.

He said: “Harry caused damage and broke down trust. It’s difficult when you’re a future monarch.I doubt they’ll ever get back the relationship they had originally. That was a very different relationship built on trust.

“It’s going to take time. William is a tough character. He’s a good guy.”

The 80-year-old was unable to walk Meghan down the aisle and the couple have not spoken to him since.

Thomas has never met his son-in-law Harry or his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet.

King Charles has also rarely seen his grandchildren by Harry and Meghan since their move to California in 2020.

Thomas told the Mail: “Neither of us deserves the treatment we’ve received.

“Why have they treated not only me but the Royal Family and the King so badly?

“Archie and Lilibet have two grandpas who want to see them, one of whom is the King of England.”

Thomas lives alone in Rosarito on Mexico’s Pacific coast – just 250 miles from the Sussexes’ mansion in Montecito.

The Emmy-winning lighting director will turn 80 next month – but is suffering the effects of a serious stroke two years ago.

Thomas said he would love Meghan to call on his birthday, but does not expect her to be in touch.

    How tall are the Royals?
He added he would now be happy with a photograph of his grandchildren even if he cannot meet them.

Meghan lived full-time with Thomas from the age of 11 while her mum Doria travelled for work.

He will instead spend the day with his son Thomas Jr at his Mexico home.

I watched Prince Harry grow up – I know why he won’t EVER return to royal life

A ROYAL expert who watched Prince Harry grow up says she knows why he won’t ever to return to royal life.

Harry has lived in California with his wife Meghan since they dramatically quit their jobs as working royals in 2020.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said Harry would be a “great asset” for the palace.

But she said California-based Harry now has the “domestic bliss” he lacked as a child.

Appearing on today’s episode of The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Bond said: “I can’t see Harry returning, really.

“And yes – I do miss him. Harry was the most popular royal a couple of years ago, wasn’t he?

“Having watched him grow up and knowing him just a little bit, he was a wonderful little boy and a charming, jovial adolescent.

“At least that’s what we saw. He was brilliant for the royal family, he did bring a natural common touch and relatability.

“They would have been a great asset had he stayed but I don’t think he will return.

“If I did pray I would pray that he has a happy life now with all that he wanted.

“The freedom he craved, the wife he loves and the children he adores.

“The model of domestic bliss that he didn’t have in his own adolescence.

“I wish him all the best.”

The Duke of Sussex was asked to explain how communications with the ghostwriter of his memoir were destroyed.

Mr Justice Fancourt described it as “troubling” that a large number of messages between Harry and JR Moehringer were wiped “well after” the royal launched phone hacking claims against NGN.

NGN is seeking the release of emails, text messages and WhatsApp messages sent and received by the royal and material held on two encrypted hard drives.

Records of communication between Harry and King Charles’s private secretary, Sir Clive Alderton and Keeper of the Privy Purse and treasurer to the King, Sir Michael Stevens, have also been requested.

Prince Harry’s autobiography, Spare, was ghostwritten by JR Moehringer. The book was published in January 2023 and shattered many records across UK publishing.

NGN wants access to the messages exchanged between King Charles’s youngest son and JR Moehringer.

David Sherborne, representing Harry, said the duke and his writer communicated via Signal but their chat history was wiped before the book was published.

Anthony Hudson KC, for NGN, claimed that Harry had deliberately destroyed evidence.

Hudson said Harry had been “trying to create an obstacle course” in a bid to prevent the publisher from obtaining potential evidence.

“There ought to be proper evidence about this,” he told the court. “Those messages are clearly within his control, even if they have been deleted.

“That’s why we say the search for texts and WhatsApps is important.

“It is, I’m afraid we say, another example of the obfuscation in relation to the claimant’s case. We say it’s shocking and extraordinary that the claimant has deliberately destroyed…”

Meghan & Sophie wore same outfit but one changed key detail to suit body shape

Meghan Markle stepped out wearing a very similar outfit to that of Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Despite both being “bespoke” designs, one of the royal ladies made further changes.

Meghan Markle and Sophie Wessex have worn the same outfit – but in different colours. The Duchess of Sussex opted for a black Emilia Wickstead outfit a few years after the Countess of Wessex wore the same dress in pale blue several times. Both were bespoke, but one royal lady made further changes to suit her style and shape.

Back in 2014, Sophie attended Royal Ascot wearing a bespoke Emilia Wickstead outfit.

In a soft mint, the outfit consisted of a dress with a cropped matching jacket in a cloqué fabric – this is when the material is irregularly raised or embossed.

The dress featured darts around the waist to ensure it fit perfectly to Sophie’s shape, and the hemline finished below the knee.

The jacket had three-quarter sleeves, hidden buttons and a small collar.

It’s widely reported that the Emilia Wickstead outfits the royals wear are bespoke – either adjusted to suit the wearer’s design preferences or custom made to measure.

For the occasion, the Countess wore a marvellous hat in the same colour and accessorised with a large aquamarine brooch, said to be worth £250,000 should it ever go to auction.

She wore the same outfit – but with a different brooch – a year later when attending the Buckingham Palace Garden Party for The Blind Veterans Association.

Then in 2018, Meghan stepped out wearing an incredibly similar outfit, albeit in black.

For the Anzac Day church service at Westminster Abbey, Meghan dressed in an apt all-black ensemble.

The bespoke two-piece set was by New Zealand-born fashion designer, Emilia Wickstead.

It consisted of the Kristie jacket and Christian skirt from the designer’s SS 2014 collection.

The jacket is believed to be the same as Sophie’s mint version.

But instead of wearing a dress underneath, Meghan chose the Christian skirt, which featured a thick waistband and pleating on the hips which created a full bell-shaped skirt.

Meghan Markle is ‘not capable of learning lessons’ and has no regret for how her life has panned out since ditching royal duties, according to Lady Colin Campbell.

This is despite the Duchess suffering plummeting approval ratings following a series of scathing remarks about Royal Family members by her and Prince Harry.

Speaking on GBN America, Lady C said Meghan is ‘not capable’ of regret and will therefore fail to learn from her ‘errors’.

“She blames everybody else for her errors”, she told Nana Akua.

“I’ve been told that she is enraged because no matter what she does, it flops, and no matter what Catherine does, it succeeds.

“That’s infuriating for her. Meghan came into the Royal Family with the expectation that she’d be able to milk them as if they were the fatted calf, and that she was going to be able to end up having a billionaire lifestyle.

“She has a billionaire lifestyle without the money. They’re quickly running into serious problems financially.

“Every deal collapses, and all these phantasmagoric figures that they were bandying about will never reach their bank account.

“She’s not capable of learning a lesson which is tragic because, for all her personal character and personality flaws, she would have now been the most popular human being on Earth. Catherine wouldn’t be.”

They said the decision to move stateside was dictated by their motivation to raise their son, Archie, away from the public limelight.

The couple have since welcomed a second child, Princess Lilibet.

Recent health scares have rocked the Royal Family and prompted discussion as to whether the couple would consider assisting them in their hour of need.

But this suggestion was rubbished by Lady C on GBN America, who said the Firm would not consider entertaining such a prospect.

“My understanding is, not one of the four participants of whom we’ve been speaking have any interest whatsoever in ever interacting with Harry or Meghan in an official capacity ever again”, she said.

“Even if Charles were inclined and Camilla went along with it to have some form of private rapprochement with Harry, there is no way there will be an official role for Harry or Meghan.

“They understand that would be drinking poison from a chalice that they could well avoid drinking from.”

She’s often regarded as the Royal Family’s secret weapon and a safe pair of hands when it comes to representing the monarchy.

But it seems it wasn’t always as easy for Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, to naviage public life. In fact, the wife of the late Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward, previously spoke out about how it “took her a while to find her feet” after transitioning from having a successful career in PR to a full-time royal. But now many years on Sophie, who is celebrating her 59th birthday today, appears to be one of the most popular out of all of the senior working royals.

So when it was announced that actress Meghan Markle would be marrying Sophie’s nephew Prince Harry, it seemed natural that the late Queen suggested the Duchess could mentor the royal newcomer. However, according to a book, Meghan “made it clear” she didn’t need Sophie’s help and would instead rely on her new husband.

The Duchess of Sussex quit her acting career upon marrying Harry in 2018 and pledged to “hit the ground running” on becoming a working royal. But author and friend of the royals Gyles Brandreth in his book, Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, he writes: “The Queen (who, of course, had seen it all before) understood that Harry’s girl might find adjusting to Royal life ‘challenging to begin with’ (as she put it). ‘It is very jolty, but you soon get used to it’ ? that was Her Majesty’s experience going back many years.

“To help Meghan, the Queen suggested that her daughter-in-law, Sophie Wessex, would be an ideal mentor. ‘Sophie can help show you the ropes,’ said the Queen. “Meghan made it clear that she did not feel she needed Sophie’s help. She had Harry.”

Meghan and Sophie’s bond came under focus in September when they travelled together in the same car during the Queen’s state funeral and her coffin procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall in 2022. Sophie, who grew up in a middle-class family and founded a PR firm before joining the Royal Family, has been compared with Meghan – as they both underwent a huge transition upon joining the family.

The former monarch also invited Sophie to several church services together and they enjoyed watching old movies together. Her late Majesty was also extremely close to Sophie’s children, her youngest grandchildren – Lady Louise Windsor and Viscount James.

Speaking to the paper, she compared Meghan and Harry’s experience to hers with Edward, she commented: “Remember I’d had five years to adjust [to royal life]. And for our six-month engagement, I was even staying at Buckingham Palace. Not that you necessarily know how it will pan out.”

Speaking about the Sussexes exit from the firm, she added: “I just hope they will be happy.? But possibly more pointedly, she said that the royal family do all they can to try to assist new members to adjust to the royal life, adding: “We all try to help any new members of the family?

On Sunday, to mark her 38th birthday, Prince Harry, 34, thanked his wife – who gave birth to their three-month-old son Archie in May – for joining him “on this amazing adventure”.

Indeed, according to expert Judi James, Meghan’s childlike body language indicates just how amazed she is of the fairy tale turn her life has taken.

Judi told Fabulous Digital: “This gesture tends to be a playful, pseudo-infantile expression of excitement and anticipation.

“However, it’s not really a gesture you see apart from kids in movies and adverts as it is rather theatrical.”

Judi notes that Meghan is perhaps taking in the “adventure” of being a royal that Harry alluded to in his sweet birthday message.

She added: “Harry thanked his wife for joining him on his ‘adventure’ and it seems to comply with that idea that she’s having a lot of enthralling experiences as a royal.

“In some instances her hands are positioned a little lower – and more elegant – but when they are held close to the face the ‘awed and thrilled’ look is complete.”

How Sophie Wessex became ‘Queen’s favourite’ despite early scandal & why she’ll ‘never be best pals’ with Meghan

SHE has kept her emotions under control while in the public gaze, but the redness around her eyes speaks volumes about how the Countess of Wessex has been deeply affected by the loss of her mother-in-law.

For Sophie, 57, the Queen’s death means not only a step up in the royal hierarchy, but the sudden absence of the maternal figure with whom she spoke most mornings.

Sophie’s memories of being with the Queen this summer are particularly fresh.

Along with her husband Prince Edward, she took their daughter Lady Louise Windsor, 18, and son James Viscount Severn, 14, to stay at Balmoral.

They enjoyed all the usual Highland pursuits with, says a friend, “not a shadow of what was about to happen a few weeks after they waved goodbye to the Queen”.

The suddenness of the sovereign’s death has hit Sophie hard. Her friend says she, along with the rest of the family, “thought they had plenty of time left”.

They “fully expected” to see the Queen at Windsor, where she was expected to return as normal in October.

Windsor formed the bedrock of Sophie’s relationship with the Queen.

Most Saturday afternoons Sophie would drive the 10 miles from her home at Bagshot Park to the castle, where the Queen would be waiting for a good catch-up over tea.

This was followed by a session of war films and historical documentaries, which the pair loved to watch together – a source of their closeness.

“They watched countless films together,” says a royal source.

“If some particular event or battle caught their imagination, the Queen would sometimes arrange for the Royal Archives – kept at Windsor – to be opened so the two could pore over any relevant documents.

“Sophie is very keen on history, she’s proud of her knowledge of military campaigns, and she and the Queen could chunter on for hours about whether this general or that admiral made the right move in some battle or other.”

    Strong bond

These hours spent in the Queen’s sitting room at Windsor strengthened the bond between the monarch and her daughter-in-law.

The two began spending more time together soon after the Queen lost her sister Princess Margaret, followed by her mother just seven weeks later in 2002.

Three years later Sophie mourned the death of her mother Mary, who died from cancer aged 71.

Not only did the Queen enjoy Sophie’s company but, remarkably, for someone who had got things so badly wrong when she was newly married to Edward, she came to be viewed by Her Majesty as the Royal Family’s safest pair of hands.

She also has a reputation as a peacemaker – visible last week when she leant in to exchange words with Meghan Markle while the Royal Family waited for the arrival of the Queen’s coffin at Westminster Hall.

The Duchess of Sussex seemed visibly more relaxed after the exchange of words as the pair shared in their grief.

Given Sophie’s seemingly unassailable position as the sovereign’s favourite, she was well-placed to offer lessons to the latest female member of The Firm.

A member of the Wessex circle informs me: “Sophie was one of the first to invite Meghan, on her own, to Bagshot for tea.”

However, they add: “They got on perfectly well, but Sophie could feel they were never going to become the best of friends.

“Let’s just say that Meghan seemed to have her own agenda and was not in the market for words of advice, however well-intentioned.”

The calm, incisive, self-assured and thoughtful Countess we see today is a long way from the awkward figure who, early in her marriage, was still running her own public relations consultancy.

She created a ‘royals for hire’ storm when she posed beside a Rover 75 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, having secured a £250,000 contract to publicise it.

When Sophie finally gave up her PR company and committed herself to a life of full-time royal duties, there was doubt over whether she would ever be able to erase the memory of such indiscretions.

“What helped to remove that doubt,” says one royal observer, “was that the Queen had long spotted certain qualities in Sophie as a royal consort – probably before her youngest son did.”

The Queen was said to be irritated by how long Edward was taking with the romance – it was six years, and Sophie was 34 by the time she made it up the aisle at St George’s Chapel at Windsor.

As such, Her Majesty uniquely arranged for Sophie to have her own pass to enter Buckingham Palace, enabling her to stay overnight in the royal apartments, where Edward had his suite of rooms, whenever she wished.

Sophie herself has acknowledged that the Queen found her “different” because she had known another life in commerce before marrying her prince.

She said in a speech: “I am rare because I am one of the few ladies in the British Royal Family who has had a professional business career and her own company.”

    Embraced royal life

Sophie was not born to life in a stately home. She was brought up in the Kent commuter belt where her father Christopher Rhys-Jones worked as a tyre company executive.

But she has embraced the rural pursuits beloved by the royals.

One friend, who knew her before her royal marriage, observes: “In her early days of marriage, Sophie set herself a series of tasks – she’s quite driven and focused like that – of learning how to ride properly, how to fish, how to shoot game and, more recently, carriage driving.”

Her friend adds: “She became like a daughter to Her Majesty, they were that close.

“It was a view that was shared by Prince Philip, who admired Sophie for the way she buckled down to her duties.

“Not only has Sophie flourished as a dedicated member of the Royal Family, she has brought up two well-balanced teenagers.

“The Queen was also mindful that Sophie’s marriage has survived where her other children’s relationships have failed – and she knew that was in no small part down to Sophie’s dedication.

“She is aware, as Edward’s mother, what a tricky creature he can be.”

An example of Sophie’s closeness to the Queen came from Sandringham, where the staff on duty on a Sunday would amuse themselves by placing bets on who would accompany the Sovereign in the Rolls Royce to morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church.

No money exchanged hands in this below-stairs contest, because nine times out of 10, they knew exactly who would be in prime position in the cream leather comfort of the Rolls backseat.

“If Sophie was staying at Sandringham then you can pretty much guarantee the Queen would ask her – usually last thing on a Saturday night – if she would like ‘a lift’ to the church,” said a former royal equerry.

“And the same happened at Balmoral. The Queen liked to be completely calm before church and she found Sophie’s presence soothing.”

Sophie is now confident and relaxed when dealing with the public – evident in the sensitive way she answered questions from a crowd the day after Philip died.

Watched by her slightly-startled husband, she told them his passing was “so gentle, like someone took him by the hand, and then he went. Very peaceful, which is what you want for somebody, isn’t it?”

It was the second time Sophie had spoken in public about her father-in-law’s death.

The day before she had responded to a question about how the Queen was bearing up, revealing she was “thinking of others before herself – she’s amazing”.

Now that the Queen has passed away, the public has already witnessed more of Sophie’s qualities that HM spotted so early.

Sophie, who is already connected with some 70 charities and organisations, will reportedly take on a host of the Queen’s patronages, including the Women’s Institute and the Dogs Trust.

And when King Charles announces, as he is expected to in the next few weeks, that Edward is to become the Duke of Edinburgh – in accordance with Prince Philip’s wishes – Sophie will become a royal duchess.

    A well-deserved promotion.

Meghan Markle’s Interactions With Royal Duchess Highlighted in Viral Clip

Meghan Markle’s interactions with a senior member of the royal family have become the focus of a new viral video. There have been strained relations within the monarchy after Meghan and Prince Harry stepped down from their working roles and moved to the U.S. with their young family in 2020.

A member of the royal family with whom Meghan has shared a number of public interactions is Prince Harry’s aunt, and daughter-in-law of the late Queen Elizabeth II—Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.

She is a well-established member of the royal family. She started dating Elizabeth’s youngest son, Prince Edward, in the early 1990s and they married at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, Berkshire in England, in 1999.

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh and Meghan Markle The royal was given the title of Countess of Wessex when she married. In 2023, the new King Charles III gave his brother, Edward, their late father’s title of Duke of Edinburgh, with Sophie becoming his duchess.

Sophie was regarded as Elizabeth’s favorite daughter-in-law, who—despite being at the center of a tabloid newspaper scandal in the early 2000s—has largely remained without controversy in the background of royal life.

In 2023, the duchess became the subject of increased media attention after a police outrider in her motorcade collided with an 81-year-old woman, who later died in hospital as a result of her injuries. In a statement from Buckingham Palace, a spokesperson said Sophie sent her deepest condolences and sympathies to the woman’s family, adding that she was deeply saddened by the fatal incident.

Uploaded to TikTok by user katherineof on August 2, video clips of Sophie’s interactions with Meghan between 2018 and 2020 have gone viral, gaining over 450,000 views so far.

The first clip of the royal duchesses was captured in 2018. Sophie and Meghan were paired together in the carriage procession at the Royal Ascot horseracing event in Berkshire, England.

The 2018 appearance is Meghan’s only one to date, and she caused a fashion stir in a white shirt-dress ensemble designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The French fashion house had designed Meghan’s wedding dress just one month earlier.

The clip shows Meghan and Sophie sharing a smile during the carriage procession. It is then contrasted with footage captured in 2020 during the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in London.

The service was Meghan and Harry’s last official engagement as working members of the royal family before they moved the U.S. to begin independent careers.

Tensions within the royal family at the time were reportedly high. Some commentators and social-media users highlighted Sophie’s lack of interaction with Harry and Meghan, despite her husband engaging them in conversation.

A year later, in 2021, Prince Edward broke with the established royal silence on the Sussexes in the aftermath of their move to the States and bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the latter, the couple made a number of claims about family members and the royal institution.

Following the birth of Harry and Meghan’s daughter in June 2021, the prince was asked during an interview about the couple and what his reaction was to their dramatic exit. “I stay way out of it,” Edward said, providing perhaps some insight into his wife’s take on the events as well. “It’s much the safest place to be.

“There are all sorts of issues and circumstances there,” he said of the events that led to the couple’s split from the monarchy. “We’ve all been through there. We’ve all had that same spotlight shone on our lives. We’ve been subjected to massive intrusion and all the rest of it, and we all deal with it in different ways.”

Sophie Duchess of Edinburgh and Meghan Markle During Meghan’s early introduction to royal life, and at events since, she was often paired with Sophie. The late Queen Elizabeth’s biographer Gyles Brandreth said it was the monarch’s idea that the newest member of her family should learn from the duchess.

In his updated version of Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait, Brandreth wrote of the queen’s reaction to Meghan joining the family: “The Queen (who, of course, had seen it all before) understood that Harry’s girl might find adjusting to Royal life ‘challenging to begin with’ (as she put it). ‘It is very jolty, but you soon get used to it’ – that was Her Majesty’s experience going back many years.

“To help Meghan, the Queen suggested that her daughter-in-law, Sophie Wessex, would be an ideal mentor. ‘Sophie can help show you the ropes,’ said the Queen.”

Brandreth added that Meghan made it clear that she “did not feel she needed Sophie’s help. She had Harry.” The royals did not comment on Brandreth’s book or the claims made within it.

Meghan and Sophie were last publicly paired together during the mourning events for Queen Elizabeth in 2022.

On September 19, as their husbands walked together in the procession behind Elizabeth’s coffin from Westminster Hall to Westminster Abbey in London, the two royal women drove together.

BATRA’S BURNING QUESTIONS: Should Prince Harry share his frostbitten “todger” story with a therapist?
The Sun’s Editor-in-Chief Adrienne Batra says Prince Harry telling the story about treating his frostbitten groin and thinking of his mother is disturbing and may have been better shared with a therapist.

Clooney was recently asked whether he knew Meghan and replied, “I don’t.” He made the response despite having attended the Windsor Chapel wedding, according to the U.K. Mail.

Clooney’s apparent fallout with the Sussexes comes on the heels of suggestions that Harry and Meghan are getting “ignored” by Hollywood A-listers as the Duchess aims to become a “power player” in Tinsel town.

Markle, the former Suits star and one-time Toronto resident, was recently reported to have signed with esteemed talent agency William Morris Endeavour.
