Denise Welch would be a “bloody great” mother-in-law to Taylor Swift, according to Kerry Katona.

The Coronation Street star’s son Matt Healy, 34, is rumoured to be romancing the Bad Blood star, 33, who is currently on tour with the musician in Nashville.

Fans have been a bit unkind about the prospect of actor Tim Healy, 71, and Denise, 64, being Taylor’s parents-in-law, with one reportedly tweeting they found the possibility “very, very, funny.”

But Denise’s Loose Women co-host Kerry, 42, thinks the singer would be lucky to have her pal in her life.

She said: “I think they make a nice couple. Imagine Denise as Taylor’s mother-in-law – she’d be bloody great!

“I’m a big fan of Taylor, I think she’s brilliant and I love her songs and music videos.

According to The Sun, Benidorm actor Tim responded to a troll who said the idea of him and Denise being related to Taylor was ‘funny’ with “Why?”

His son’s relationship with the pop star was reported this week, soon after her split from boyfriend of six years Joe Alwin was announced.

It is reported the actor “struggled with Taylor’s level of fame and the attention from the public”, which is why they parted ways.

But Matt was seen swooning as he watched his rumoured girlfriend at one of her concerts recently.

The singer was in the VIP area with Taylor’s friend Gigi Hadid on Saturday night when he put his hand to his chest and smiled up at the sky with his eyes closed, during the star’s Nashville gig.

It’s been widely reported Matt and Taylor are “madly in love”, with past reports saying they would step out together in Nashville – which has proved to be true.

Former EastEnders actress Samantha Womack, who shared her diagnosis last summer, revealed that she has been inundated with messages from young women who are also going through a breast cancer diagnosis

Samantha Womack has issued a plea to young women all over the UK and Ireland to check their breasts after her breast cancer diagnosis.

The former EastEnders actress, 50, who played Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Mitchell on the BBC One soap made the plea during an appearance on Loose Women on Tuesday.

The actress, who has recently been given the all clear on her cancer journey, urged young women and men across the nation to check for lumps and unusual symptoms – reiterating that cancer can strike at any age.

“Please check yourselves – young people too. It’s so important, please, please, it happens to young people too,” Samantha said while on the Loose Women panel.

Back in December, Samantha revealed that she was cancer free, just five months after revealing she had been diagnosed with the devastating disease.

Samantha was diagnosed with cancer in June 2022 but previously admitted that she had not spotted any symptoms and a random health check led to doctors discovering a ‘little shadow’.

The actress said: “Now I’m just having some treatment as I go back to work, as a prevention – it was crazy, I was doing The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe – the producers there were amazing and gave me time off.

“We’re feeling a lot better than we were,” she told OK! Magazine.

Reflecting on her ordeal, she added: “My treatment is ongoing for breast cancer, the surgery was quite difficult to recover from just because it’s quite tender when you have lymph nodes removed, there’s a few mobility issues at the beginning.

“The first round of chemotherapy was pretty hardcore really, it was quite toxic – we were lucky because I got to recover in Spain, Ollie and Wallie were picking me up from the airport in Valencia.

“It was in the middle of a thunderstorm and I’d just had the treatment and these guys picked me up.”

Samantha explained that the ‘turnaround’ for her diagnosis was ‘quite quick’ after having an ultrasound scan out of precaution, admitting she was ‘lucky’.

Reflecting on why she decided to pay tribute to Olivia while sharing her own diagnosis, the Kingsman actress said: “I’d been with Olivia, just for dinner after a show I’d done, I played Sandy in Grease.

“It was just at the beginning of her diagnosis and what struck me was her journey had been 30 years and she was at the end and I was just at the beginning, and it took me back,” she explained.

“I felt very moved by it, I thought, ‘I want to share it, I want to talk to people, I want to put it out there’ and it was amazing, the love that came back. I felt empowered by it.”

Ex Loose Women star Carol McGiffin has taken a swipe at the ITV programme following her shock exit.

The presenter and TV personality, 63, hasn’t been on the show for a couple of months, and in recent weeks, fans have started to question where Carol is and if she would ever be making a return to the show.

After much speculation, the Loose Women star finally broke her silence last week, explaining that she had been forced to “step away” from the show after allegedly being asked to sign a contract which was “totally unjust and unworkable for me”.

In a new TV appearance since it was revealed she had quit the ITV daytime show, Carol left fans flabbergasted when she then made a savage swipe towards the ITV programme and her fellow panelists.

During an appearance on GB News, the TV star said she no longer watches the show and claimed it’s become too ‘woke’ for her.

While speaking to host Dan Wootton, Carol said: “Well put it this way, reading all the comments from the article at the weekend there are a lot of people who think the programme has gone very, very woke.”

Dan replied: “I feel that as a viewer. I don’t watch any more.” Carol then admitted: “Well, neither do I. The whole of mainstream media is very, very woke.”

“You just don’t have to keep forcing this stuff down peoples’ throats, it’s not just ITV, the BBC is probably worse actually – and saying that, Channel 4 is probably the worst out of all of them. It’s not a place where I feel I fit in,” she added.

“And, even though, you should be having the debates and seeing a difference in opinion, in the typical woke ideals, you don’t really get it anymore you’re not allowed to say it and if you do, you either get censored or you get cancelled as many people have learnt to their cost.”

She added of ITV: “They come back and say we support free speech but I can’t see it, I can’t really see it – from where I’m sitting anyway.”

Carol then suggested: “I’m not sure whether or not that was the reason I was given the contract I was given.”

An ITV spokesperson said: “Any theories around Covid discussed by Carol on a platform outside of ITV would be her personal opinions, have not been broadcast as part of Loose Women and do not represent the views of ITV. Here at ITV we encourage free speech, but equally are fully committed to responsible broadcasting and adhering to the OfCom code.

“ITV will not comment on speculation around individual contracts. We understand that Carol has decided to leave Loose Women and we wish her well in any future projects.”

While a source told the Mirror: “From April 2021, HMRC made changes to off-payroll (IR35) legislation, which means the responsibility of assessing whether a role is employed or self-employed for tax purposes, now sits with all employers.

“ITV has updated its contracting policy in line with this HMRC legislation and communicated any contract changes to all those concerned. Assessments are done on a case-by-case basis and subject to on-going monitoring as circumstances and legislation evolve.”

It comes after Carol admitted she feels she has been forced to make a decision to step back from the programme due to the ‘unjust’ contract.

“The problem was, ITV were insisting, for the first time since I went back in 2018, that if I wanted to carry on doing the show, I would have to sign a contract that was totally unjust and unworkable for me, so I had to say ‘no thanks’, she told Best Magazine.

“I feel quite upset about it, if I’m honest, because although it is my decision, I felt like it was one I was being forced to make. No one in their right mind would have signed that contract. And I can’t see a way back from it,” she added.

Loose Women’s Penny Lancaster looked completely different after taking on a volunteer role at King Charles III’s Coronation.

The 52-year-old, who is married to singer Rod Stewart, took on the role of Special Constable in order to help keep the streets safe on the “special day”.

Special Constables are volunteer police officers, with them having the same police powers, uniforms and equipment as normal officers.

On Thursday, Penny took to her Instagram to share a snap of herself in uniform as she reflected on her role.

In the snap, she smiled for the camera as King Charles and Queen Camilla rode by in the background in their carriage.

The Loose Women presenter spoke out about the incident which took place when she was just starting out in journalism, recalling how she had been invited over to a former colleague’s flat for some drinks before they all went out together with other friends, too.

Janet spoke to her fellow panellists about the incident following on from the overnight trial with Donald Trump, in which he was found by a jury to have sexually assaulted columnist E. Jean Carroll in a rape and defamation trial.

Speaking on the show today, Janet didn’t identify the man but recalled: “One of my colleagues on another newspaper at the time, a very successful man with a high profile who was a bit of a household name, invited me and my husband out for drinks with some other people… He called in the afternoon and said we’re all going to meet at mine for a drink beforehand.

“So I naively went thinking that other people would be there [my husband wasn’t] … When I got there, he locked me in the flat and chased me around and threw himself on me and I was so annoyed with myself. I hadn’t expected it.”

Janet said she had to just “laugh it off” at work as she explained the man was a respected former colleague.

“At work you just had to laugh it off, but I had knew this guy for quite a few months, probably a couple of years beforehand, and he was highly intelligent and really respected,” she explained.

Janet said she didn’t see him socially after that time but never considered reporting it as she feared it would be “career suicide” if she said what had happened to her as the group discussed whether the ‘silent generation’ felt they could speak up now.

In the Trump case, nine jurors announced their verdict and found Trump did not rape Ms Carroll but did sexually abuse her, and awarded her $5million (£3.9million) in damages. Stacey Solomon has been replaced on Bake Off: The Professionals after just one series of presenting the programme.

Loose Women star Stacey, 33, hosted the show alongside Great British Bake Off favourite Liam Charles, who competed in the eighth series of the programme.

Stacey, who gave birth to daughter Belle earlier this year, will not be fronting the next series.

The Great British Bake Off’s official Twitter account confirmed the spin-off show’s new co-presenter will be Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Taylor.

A tweet announcing the news shared a photo of comedian Ellie, 39, posing with a cake while she is joined by Liam, 25, and judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden.

Ruth continued to wipe away her tears as she said: “Am I supposed to apologise? I am not going to.

“I have to say we have to go to our second guest of the day. He would be laughing at that if he was listening.”

She then introduced Phil but struggled to read the auto-cue as she quipped: “I can’t see now Judi!”

The panel lost it once more as they were left in fits of laughter.

“This is just degenerating,” Ruth admitted as she tried to regain control of the show.

Viewers at home were also left laughing as one person wrote: “Omg Judi [followed by laughing emojis].”

“What did I miss? All hysterical,” asked someone who had just tuned in.

However one person commented: “It really wasn’t that funny was it?,” to which someone replied: “I think its funny cos its shocking lol.”

Ruth, who used to host This Morning alongside husband Eamonn Holmes, greeted Phil, 61, and Holly Willoughby before telling viewers what the Loose Women were set to discuss today.

But as she said goodbye, some claimed Ruth looked “smug”.

Katie Price has revealed the ‘worst thing she ever did’ when it comes to her many surgeries over the years.

The 44-year-old glamour model – who recently got her biggest ever boob job – reflected on what she had done to her body in the past.

She started with her first boob job at the age of 18 and 25 years later her long list of cosmetic procedures has grown.

It now includes 16 boob jobs, two facelifts, numerous rounds of liposuction, an eye and brow lift, Botox, fillers and ‘Turkey teeth’.

But in a new interview the mum-of-five has admitted the one surgery she regrets having the most.

Katie underwent Brazilian Butt Lift surgery in 2019, but quickly reversed the effects after saying she ‘hated’ having a big bum.

She told New magazine: “I had a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) and I absolutely hated it. I hate having a big bum. It was the worst thing I ever did!

“Thankfully, I didn’t have implants. I just had my own fat put into my bum.

“I don’t suit having a big bum so I had all the fat taken out and I have my natural bum back now.”

This involved having two colonic irrigations to clean out her insides before repeated fat-dissolving treatment in her rear.

Katie also revealed she was left unimpressed when she had a thread lift under her eyes in the UK a few years ago, which cost £700.

At the time she was filming on Loose Women and said the procedure got ‘messed up’ when the surgeon put a tear through filler under her eyes.

Despite undergoing several painful and major procedures in her life, Katie insists it won’t stop her having more work done – especially now she has her OnlyFans channel.

Her latest boob job last year took her to a double H as she bids to have the ‘biggest boobs in Britain’.

It comes after a botched boob job in Turkey which she says left her ‘deformed’ had to be corrected by surgeons in Belgium.

“I pick the design and this time I picked one for Bunny too, so we both have matching bikinis.”

Although she recognises the risk of going under the knife, she revealed she was more scared to have her feet operated after breaking them in a freak accident on holiday.

She said: “There’s always a risk. But the only time I get scared is when I have to have my feet operated on, because it’s not through choice. I literally s**t myself, I get so nervous and anxious.

“My family are like, ‘But Kate, you get yourself put to sleep for your surgery all the time,’ but I’m like, ‘That’s my choice, it’s different.’“The only surgery I’m getting now is for my feet because of the life-changing injuries. Other than that, I’ll still do my lips, but as surgery goes I’ve got nothing planned. But I’ll always say, ‘Never say never.’”
