Cruz Beckham is reportedly set to release a rock album without his famous surname in a bid to show he has earned a career “in his own right”.

Victoria Beckham is “feeling hurt” as son Cruz is “hell-bent” on dropping his famous surname in his music career.

An insider claims Cruz, 19, wants to carve a career in the spotlight away from his mum and dad, fearing people will see him as part of brand Beckham. Cruz is already reportedly set to make an album after signing a management deal on the back of his social media presence.

Cruz is said to “loathe” the idea that he has “bagged a record deal” because of David and Victoria. His mother is also said to be fearful that he will join older brother Brooklyn and relocate to the USA in a bid to break out stateside.

According to Closer, former England star David, 49, has reassured Victoria that their son won’t “go off the rails” should he attempt to conquer the US chart.

The insider said: “Victoria is really concerned about Cruz’s next move because he seems hell-bent on detaching himself from the family in an effort to be a success in his own right. Of course, she understands and is incredibly proud of him for wanting to do it all on his own and not ride on his parents’ fame.

“But she feels he is taking it too far – particularly talk about dropping the ‘Beckham’ from his name and just going by ‘Cruz’. He’s also said to be feeling hesitant about her or David being at his album launch and not wanting them to be involved.

“Victoria is feeling hurt and dismayed about Cruz growing more and more distant from their family unit and rebelling against them – though she does get how important it is for him to attempt to prove himself.”

While details of Cruz’s upcoming album are being kept under wraps, it is understood his parents “spent a fortune” getting it produced. Although Cruz is said to be attempting to enter the world of rock, his mum is no stranger to the charts.

Victoria, 50, had nine UK number one singles with the Spice Girls. Two of their albums – Spice and Spiceworld – topped the album charts.

The Beckhams are said to appreciate how difficult carving their own career has been. Oldest son Brooklyn has previously been mocked online for his attempts to break into the world of photography and cooking.

Last month it was reported by the Mail on Sunday that Cruz split from his music management firm partly over his parents’ insistence he use his famous surname. He left Tap to sign with another firm, C3.

Romeo Beckham meanwhile is following in his father’s footsteps, currently signed to Brentford’s B team. He has previously played for Inter Miami, which is part-owned by his father.

Express.co.uk has approached Victoria’s representatives for comment.

The 42-year-old royal – who has three young children with Prince William – has been undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer following abdominal surgery in January.

Fashion designer Victoria, 50, and her retired footballer spouse David, 49, have a close bond with the Royal Family, and Posh Spice would love to gift her items from her eponymous fashion brand as she has been worrying about her amid her health battle.

A source close to the former Spice Girl told heat magazine: “Victoria has really been concerned about Kate, and she and David have sent her lots of messages of support.

“But Vic wants to do something more and would like to send Kate a pamper package with some of her favourite bits from her own range, as well as other treats that she knows Kate will like.

“There are a lot of rules around sending gifts to the Royals, so Vic is keen to make sure it’s done as friends and not from her business.

“But she just wants to keep her spirits up.”

Catherine has been recuperating privately and made rare appearances since she her surgery, including attending Wimbledon this month.

She said in a video address in March: “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.

“This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

“As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok.

“As I have said to them; I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.

“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.

We hope that you will understand that, as a family, we now need some time, space and privacy while I complete my treatment. My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to being back when I am able, but for now I must focus on making a full recovery.”

In his prime, Michael Owen was one of the best strikers that England has ever produced. Although diminutive, the prodigal striker began his football career in emphatic style. Exploding onto the scene with electric pace and fine finishing, he progressed through the Liverpool youth team and scored on his Premier League debut in May 1997, becoming the club’s youngest goalscorer, at 17 years, 143 days.

With the Reds, he went onto win the FA Cup, UEFA Cup, two League Cups and UEFA Super Cup before a late spell with Manchester United saw him win the Premier League at long last at the end of his career.

For England, Owen shone particularly bright at the 1998 World Cup, scoring a memorable strike in England’s defeat to Argentina at the Round of 16 stage, in which his jinking run dissected the Albiceleste’s core with ease before a brilliant finish. From that dramatic emergence, Owen went on to play for England for another 10 years, managing a fine record of 40 goals in 89 games to put himself sixth in the all-time Three Lions scoring chart.

At the very base of the 3-5-2 formation Owen picked, coached by Glenn Hoddle, David Seaman starts in goal. At club level, Seaman, of course, starred predominantly for Arsenal, as well as Birmingham, QPR and Man City after his career began with Peterborough United. For England, the 75-capped stopper featured as part of the Italia ’90 squad before coming home with injury. On the left of three centre-backs, Owen selected Rio Ferdinand. Inside him, is Gerrard. Although the Liverpool man missed the 2002 World Cup through injury, he still went on become England’s fourth most-capped player. Interestingly, he didn’t lose in his first 21 games, and scored at two World Cups and a Euros. Lampard took nearly five years to cement himself in the England team – and then was virtually irreplaceable for a decade. Only 10 men have scored more goals for their country and nobody had scored more penalties than his nine, until Harry Kane bagged a whopping 22 and counting.

In the past few years, Netflix has had huge success with its authorised documentaries about an array of huge celebrities, including British stars like David Beckham and Robbie Williams.

And it seems another intriguing British celebrity is about to become the subject of their own doc with the streaming giant.

On Friday morning, Katie Price paid a visit to Hits Radio, where she revealed that she was about to open up her life to a camera crew once again, for a new Netflix documentary series.

“I’m doing a Netflix series about my life,” she revealed, claiming that filming is due to begin “at the end of the month”.

Katie added: “I can’t wait to have my life on Netflix as a three-parter.”

The Celebrity Big Brother winner also teased that a big-name producer was on board, claiming: “I can’t tell you who the producer, director is but when my sister told me I said ’Are you joking? What? He even knows who I am?!”

Victoria Beckham has hilariously mocked her husband David Beckham for using a filter on their vacation photo.

The 50-year-old fashion designer poked fun at her husband’s photo editing skills in the comments of his Instagram post, which was shared on July 23. In his selfie, David smiled for the camera with his wife, who had her arm wrapped around his shoulder. The couple was sitting at a dinner table in the middle of a field at a winery in France.

However, according to Victoria, David made a few edits to the photo that made her look different. “What? Why is my hair ginger??? What filter is that David?” she hilariously wrote in the comments.

In response to her remark, many fans agreed that the former Spice Girl’s hair looked orange, and joined in on mocking David for editing the picture.

“Ginger Spice,” one quipped, along with a laughing, crying face emoji.

“@victoriabeckham the world needs to know @davidbeckham !!! What filter is this?!” another wrote, while a third joked: “This made me giggle. Men don’t have a clue with the photos.”

In the caption of his post, the former football star opened up about his and his wife’s trip to France. “We have eaten in many beautiful places but WOW Domaine De Peretti Della Rocca,” he wrote, referring to the estate located in Figari.

This isn’t the first time the longtime couple have made joking quips about each other. During an episode of their Netflix series Beckham, which came out in 2023, David mocked his wife for claiming she had a “working-class upbringing.”

Speaking to the interviewer about her family and childhood, Victoria said: “We’re very, very working class.” David then jumped in, popping his head around a nearby doorframe, and added: “Be honest.” When Victoria expressed that she was being honest, the former midfielder asked. “What car did your dad drive you to school in?”

After David repeated the question multiple times, the “Out of Your Mind” singer replied: “OK, in the Eighties, my dad had a Rolls-Royce.”

During their Super Bowl ad, which aired in January, the couple recreated the viral moment, with Victoria explaining: “So David and I are gonna be in a little commercial.” David then popped his head out of the door and told his wife, “Be honest, be honest!,” before she expressed that it was a “big commercial.” The designer was also hilariously wearing a shirt that read: “My dad has a Rolls-Royce.”
