Prince William Drops Queen Camilla’s Kin, Formerly Employed by King Charles, from His Payroll — Here’s What to Know

In a surprising shake-up within the British royal circle, Prince William has reportedly dismissed a key figure from his payroll—someone with close ties to Queen Camilla and King Charles III.

Prince William has reportedly removed Annabel Elliot, Queen Camilla’s sister, from the Duchy of Cornwall’s payroll, surprising netizens. According to The Telegraph on July 24, Annabel has been the estate’s interior designer since 2005, working under King Charles III’s direction on various royal properties.

The 75-year-old interior designer’s departure comes as William begins to shape the estate’s management in his way. The latest Duchy accounts show she wasn’t paid for her services in 2023-2024, marking the end of nearly two decades of work.

The report repeated a statement from the Duchy’s 2024 annual report, which covered Charles’s last six months managing the estate and William’s first six months after inheriting it following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

The statement read, “During the period to 8th September 2022 the Duchy paid Mrs Annabel Elliot, the 24th Duke of Cornwall’s sister-in-law, in the normal course of business and on an arm’s length basis £19,625 (or $25,091.25) for fees and commission and £12,316 ($15746.44) for the purchase of furniture, furnishings and retail stock for the Duchy of Cornwall Holiday accommodation, Duchy offices and Duchy Nursery. At 31st March 2024 there was £nil (2023: £nil) remaining payable to Mrs Elliot in respect of these [sic].”

The Duchy is a private estate that provides income, and funds the official and private activities of the Duke of Cornwall and his family. This place was established in 1337 by Edward III to support his son, Prince Edward, and is governed by specific charters and laws.

The estate is managed with a focus on sustainability and community benefits, aiming to preserve it for future generations. The current Duke of Cornwall, William, does not have access to the estate’s capital and pays income tax on the profits it generates each year.

Along with its historic significance, the Duchy offers luxury holiday cottages in period buildings across Cornwall, Wales, and the Isles of Scilly. Designed by Annabel, these interiors blend antique and modern styles, using recycled materials like glass bottles for light fixtures and old chests for coffee tables.

The estate emphasizes eco-friendliness, using green electricity and renewable energy heating systems. It also promotes sustainable tourism that supports local economies and communities.

William’s decision to remove Annabel from the Duchy’s payroll has drawn mixed reactions from netizens. One user commented, “Charles put her on the payroll she wouldn’t have been interior designer if it wasn’t for her sister and I’m glad Prince William took her off payroll [sic].”

Not everyone was aware of Annabel’s role, with some expressing surprise. “So he should, didn’t know she was on the payroll,” one netizen said. Another questioned Annabel’s involvement, “Why was she even on it? What does she do exactly?”

Another chimed in, “Camilla’s sister, an interior designer, worked on a contract , the contract is now completed . Annabelle is 75 and is retiring [sic].” A fifth remarked, “Good. She is not his mother or aunt.”

Another noted the generational contrast, quipping, “Makes sense. I’d think an 80 yr old sense of style and a 40 year olds would be severely different. I wouldn’t hire my grandma’s interior designer either. 🤣🤣 [sic]”

Meanwhile, some saw William’s move as a sign of prudence. One user remarked, “Prince William is very wise…,” while another expressed skepticism about his intentions, “I think William has big head now showing his true colour , who else is he going to fire 🔥[sic].”

Another downplayed Annabel’s significance in the royal family, saying, “She is now over retirement age and is obviously assisting her sister in other matters. Her work is done. No shock!, media trouble making yet again…..”

Despite being removed from the Duchy’s payroll, Annabel remains active in royal projects, including recent renovations at Balmoral. However, her company, Annabel Elliot Limited, has reportedly faced financial challenges, with a noted decline in assets over recent years.

Annabel’s company is based at her country house in Stourpaine, Dorset. This place was where she and her late husband, Simon, reportedly allowed Charles and Camilla to “hold secret meetings” while Charles was still married to the late Princess Diana.

Fast forward to recent developments, Camilla’s relationship with the royal family remains a topic of controversy. It was reported in March 2024 that Prince Harry distrusts the growing bond between William and the Queen.

Royal expert and author Tom Quinn said, “He [Harry] really distrusts that William actually gets on rather well now with Camilla – Harry will see this as a betrayal.”

Tom also mentioned that Harry was shocked when William realized that Camilla, whom they once viewed as a “monster” when they were kids, is actually a “nice woman.” The royal expert noted about the Queen, “She is exceptionally good at listening with a sympathetic ear and William has definitely warmed to that.”

Tom further explained that Harry views William’s improved relationship with Camilla as another instance of William failing to remain loyal to the family. “For Harry things have never moved on really since his mother died,” Tom added.

Despite the brothers’ continued tensions, William’s royal responsibilities have continued to grow. Last May, Charles
appointed him Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, marking a significant shift in his duties.

The Palace disclosed the message, “In August 2023, following His Majesty’s Accession, the King was pleased to announce military appointments including that the Prince of Wales would become Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps. The role was previously held by His Majesty the King, as Prince of Wales, for 31 years.”

According to reports, the official date for the role transfer was set for May 13 and took place at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop. This news came amid Harry’s trip to the U.K. that month.

Creating further intrigue was the fact that, although William was stepping into the role for the first time, the position itself was not new, as it previously belonged to the Duke of Sussex.

“This is one of the most public rifts in the world. If it was handled in private without so much press speculation, it would have a better chance of being resolved,” asserted royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams while speaking about Harry and King Charles III.

Controversy Erupts: Meghan Reacts as Nanny Allegedly Leaks Plans for Harry and Kids to Move to San Ysidro Ranch with Chris in Montecito

Reports have emerged suggesting a growing rift between Meghan and Harry, as their nanny allegedly revealed that she had compelled the family to relocate to San Ysidro Ranch, enabling her to live with her lover in Harry’s own residence.

Royal commentator Celia Walden commented on the couple’s situation, stating that they seem to be leading separate lives and pursuing different agendas.

Walden emphasized that their public duties are causing them to lead slightly separate lives, with Meghan wanting the attention solely on herself.

Speculation has arisen about the couple drifting apart, at least in terms of their public commitments.

Despite these claims, Meghan and Harry did manage to make time for a public date night, but an awkward moment occurred when Meghan appeared to snub a kiss from Harry as they were shown on the big screen at a basketball match in Los Angeles. The Duchess burst into laughter, while Harry made a funny facial expression.

The crowd encouraged them to kiss, but Meghan grabbed her husband’s arm instead. The couple attended the game to watch the Los Angeles Lakers’ victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in game four of the playoffs.

In recent news, it was announced that Prince Harry would be attending King Charles’ coronation alone, without Meghan. The rest of the Sussex family will remain in California with their two children. Reports have also surfaced suggesting that Meghan Markle may be considering pursuing a solo career, while Prince Harry explores his own independent projects.

Their marriage has been surrounded by controversies, particularly after their various public declarations against the Royal Family. However, one particular matter drew media attention when rumors circulated about Meghan allegedly having an affair with her bodyguard, Chris Sanchez.

According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex had a romantic involvement with Christopher Sanchez, a bodyguard who had previously worked with former American presidents George Bush and Barack Obama. Sanchez joined the couple a few months ago and reportedly fell in love with Meghan at first sight.

He currently serves as the Vice President of Torchstone Global, specializing in risk mitigation and security. While the rumors circulated, Sanchez resigned from his position. As of now, neither Meghan nor Harry have released any official statements regarding this situation.

Meghan Markle Triumphs in Popularity: SHOCKING US survey reveals she outshines the rest of the royal family..

Meghan Markle’s popularity in America is surging ahead of the official launch of her brand, American Riviera Orchard. Meghan Markle’s popularity is now the same as King Charles’s, a shock new US poll has revealed.

According to a new poll conducted by Newsweek, the Duchess of Sussex was liked by 36 percent of the adults polled. Meghan was disliked by 24 percent, which gave her an approval rating of plus 12 – equal to King Charles III. Despite this, Meghan’s rating shows a stark decline from the poll conducted just three months ago, in February.

The poll from at the start of the year shows Meghan was favoured by 31 percent of the adults polled and unfavourable to 30 percent. Much like Meghan, the latest poll shows King Charles is favoured by 31 percent of adults polled. Although he also has a net approval of plus 12, the 75-year-old was only unfavourable to 19 percent.

Despite being a US citizen, Meghan has fallen long behind the Prince and Princess of Wales and Prince Harry in US-based popularity polls – and continues to do so. However, the latest boost in the new poll will likely be welcomed by the Duchess of Sussex, who soft-launched her new brand back in March. American Riveria Orchard was revealed back in March, with the launch of a new Instagram account and website.

As was noticed in earlier polls, the Princess of Wales remains the favourite royal – a little over a month after her cancer diagnosis reveal. Documented in the poll, Kate is viewed positively by 45 percent of those polled and unfavourably by 13 percent. Her net approval stands at plus 32 – a three percent drop from plus 35 back in February.

Prince Harry experienced a drop by two percent from his previous result in the February poll. The Duke of Sussex, who is currently in the UK, was favoured by 42 percent and unfavoured by 18 percent.

In the same poll, Prince William – who will not meet his brother in the UK this week – was liked by 40 percent of those polled. Only 12 percent of those polled stated they disliked him.

Loose Women’s Katie Piper quips she’d like to join throuple with Una Healy and David Haye

Una Healy’s possible three-way relationship was discussed on today’s edition of Loose Women – with panelist Katie Piper even joking she’s up for becoming David Haye’s third girlfriend and making things a quadruple

Katie Piper has shown Una Healy some support as David Haye seemingly confirms he is in a throuple with The Saturdays singer and Sian Osborne.

Discussing Una’s relationship status on Loose Women today, Katie explained how she ‘really admires’ the mum-of-two and her unorthodox love-life – even joking she wants to join in on the fun and “make things a quadruple”.

While Dame Kelly Holmes can’t quite get her head around the idea of a throuple, Katie thinks Una’s current situation may actually be more suited to her lifestyle after a painful marriage split – adding how the trio are obviously having a great time and not hurting anyone.

Throuple speculation began at the start of this year, when Una shared a picture of herself, David and Sian, 30, all holding hands at a restaurant in Morocco on Instagram and told her fans: “I’ve started 2023 in a comfortable place, feeling genuinely happy and at peace. Here’s to this year being ours x.”

David seemingly confirmed the three-way relationship on Valentine’s Day, as the boxer paid tribute to his “two beautiful Queens” over on his Instagram page.

Discussing the trio’s setup on today’s Loose Women, panelist Kelly admitted she doesn’t judge the three stars but it’s not her cup of tea and she can’t quite understand how the relationship could work.

But Katie was much more supportive, telling her co-stars and the live audience: “I totally get the concept. I really admire Una.

“She’s been through quite a painful breakup in her marriage and, you know, I would see an arrangement like this, where everything is laid out on the table…. I would rather be in a throuple than lied to and cheated on.”

The presenter went on to add: “They’re obviously having a great time and not hurting anyone. Maybe if you’ve already had children and you don’t want a long-term relationship and more kids, it suits where you’re at in your life.”

After welcoming two children – Aoife, nine, and Tadgh, six – into the world together, Una’s marriage with ex-husband Ben came to an end amid speculation the sports star was unfaithful.

Following their split, Ben moved on with current wife Jackie and in 2020, welcomed his third child into the world – a daughter named Farrah.

“Obviously, what I did was very selfish in regards to Una. I think it was a shock to her, me getting married so quickly,” Ben confessed to OK! magazine when discussing his 2019 wedding with Jackie.

“Una and I hadn’t been together for a year and a half but I think what made it bad was it was such a big thing in the media and it was everywhere, so, I did owe her an apology for that and should probably have let her know a bit more about what was going on.”

Loose Women panelists discussed the reports that new editions of children’s books by Roald Dahl have been edited to remove language that may now be deemed offensive or inappropriate

Ruth Langsford has described changes to Roald Dahl ‘s books as “wrong” and “dangerous,” expressing concern that children will soon become scared to be offended.

It comes amid reports that new editions of children’s books by the late author have been edited to remove language that may be considered offensive or inappropriate.

The changes are said to affect certain references to weight, mental health, violence, gender, and race. They are said to have been the result of a review into Roald’s works.

The Telegraph reports that among the changes is the word “fat” having been removed from every book by the author. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory character Augustus Gloop is now said to be referred to as “enormous”.

She however added: “But to start rewriting and taking things out from such a famous author, who’s so loved the world over by children, I think is wrong and I think it’s dangerous.”

“When publishing new print runs of books written years ago, it’s not unusual to review the language used alongside updating other details including a book’s cover and page layout.

Former Loose Women star Jamelia will be back on our TV screens as she’s reportedly signed up for Celebrity MasterChef.

The popstar, 41, who left Loose Women in 2017, is said to be excited about the BBC show, after she gave birth to her fourth daughter in October.

Since her chart topping days in the early noughties, Jamelia has gone on to have a career in TV, appearing on Strictly, Doctors and most recently Sky Kids drama Little Darlings, with fellow singer Lemar.

She has also fronted documentaries including The House That Made Me and Shame About Single Mums.

And it appears her next project will put her cooking skills to the test, as she competes against other famous faces, with judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode watching on.

A source told The Sun: “Jamelia is excited about Celebrity MasterChef and she’s more than ready to step back into the public eye after giving birth in October.

“Of course it was nerve-wracking cooking for Gregg [Wallace] and John [Torode] but Jamelia was more than up for the challenge – she had a great time.”

Jamelia was a regular panellist on Loose Women but wasn’t invited back in 2017 after a backlash against her comments about plus-sized clothes.

Last year, she opened up about the ‘traumatic’ early arrival of her fourth child after her baby’s heart rate dropped forcing her to undergo an emergency C-section.

Jamelia told how it was ‘so scary’ when her waters broke at just 32 weeks pregnant but was told ‘to hold on’ to her baby for as long as possible and spent a month under close monitoring.

But she said when checks showed her baby’s heart rate had dropped dangerously low she was rushed for an emergency C-section at Birmingham Women’s Hospital.

The former Strictly star gave birth to a baby girl but found it ‘incredibly traumatic’.

She told Hello magazine: “I’d only ever seen a C-section on the telly, and thought, ‘Oh well, at least it’s going to be straightforward and I’ll be out in five minutes.’”

She said there was nothing ‘easier’ about recovering from major surgery while looking after a newborn.

But she was thrilled to share her baby girl’s arrival with her older children 17-year-old daughter Tiani – who had tossed a coin with her big sister Teja, 21, to see who would be the birthing partner.

Her husband, who has stayed out of the spotlight, stayed at home to look after their four-year-old daughter True.

A representative for Celebrity Masterchef said the show doesn’t comment on line-up speculation. The Mirror has approached Jamelia for comment.

Fuming Loose Women fans want show axed after ‘miserable’ discussion

Loose Women fans took aim at the ITV panel show after disagreeing with a particular debate topic discussed on this week’s show

Loose Women fans were not happy with the ITV programme earlier this week as the panel discussed topics including whether they’d be willing to pay for an expensive funeral.

Jane Moore hosted the debate while Linda Robson, Sophie Morgan and Gloria Hunniford joined the panel.

The Loose Women panel welcomed Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Deborah Meaden in the studio and discussed topics including the song they’d like played at their funeral and EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy’s admission that she had once gone three days without a shower

However, ITV viewers felt it was time the programme took a break and blasted the funeral discussion as “miserable”.

One tweeted: “Miserable talk or WHAT??? @loosewomen #loosewomen #itv REPORTED TO OFCOM @Ofcom,” while another wrote: “SURELY its time for ITV to drop #LooseWomen after nearly 25 years A LOT OF PEOPLE INCLUDING ME find it to be sexist and dated it should be replaced with a show that welcomes hosts and guests whether straight LGBT men woman in short from ALL backgrounds.”

“Daily I’m reading stories about cast falling out it’s time ITV drop this programme and save thousands of pounds. #LooseWomen,” a third added and another shared: “This Dreadful Show need to stop airing on our Television screens it’s passed the expiration date #LooseWomen.”

Elsewhere, on this week’s Loose Women, panellist Brenda Edwards broke down in tears as the ITV show paid tribute to her late son Jamal Edwards a year after his death.

On Thursday, Brenda was left in tears after a video of her and her daughter Tanisha was shown about them talking about Jamal and their plans to continue his legacy.

In the clip, Brenda said: “This last year has been one big massive rollercoaster ride and considering I don’t really like rollercoasters, I have to be honest, with all the support I’ve had, everything has been bittersweet.

“I don’t think you can really put it into words. It’s good to have Tanesha here and have her around because we’re going through it together. I try my best not to show her my upset, she tries her best not to show me but then there’s times when we’re both upset together.”

The panel all wore blue in honour of Jamal as Brenda explained her son was a Chelsea supporter and a “true blue”.

Loose Women panel bids farewell to co-star as she quits after 20 years on ITV show

The Loose Women panellists – Nadia Sawalha, Kaye Adams, Carol McGiffin and Jane Moore – ended their show today with a tribute to Donna May, who is leaving the programme after two decades

The Loose Women stars bid an emotional farewell to their co-star today, who is departing the programme after 20 years.

During today’s segment, Nadia Sawalha, Kaye Adams, Carol McGiffin and Jane Moore all presented the show, where they were joined by Jordan North and EastEnders boss Chris Clenshaw to talk about their projects.

However, at the end of the episode, the camera panned over to Ruth Langsford who was sat next to Donna May Clitheroe, who is departing the programme after two decades working on the show.

Ruth sat alongside Donna May and said it was a privilege to be working with her all these years, as they all thanked her for helping them look the best every day with her makeup artist skills.

Speaking at the end of the show, Kaye said: “Before we go, we have to say after 20 years, this is the last day of our dear friend Donna May. The heart of our make up room. She’s sat there with Ruth, I don’t think Ruth’s going to let her go.”

Donna then revealed she would be making the leap to work on her business full time, as Ruth told her: “Look at those four gorgeous women there, you do that,” as Kaye told her: “You are and will continue to be a wonderful friend to us all.”

On her website, Donna May previously shared how she works on her own business whilst leading the ITV team too.

“I’m Head of Makeup for ITV’S Loose Women and Lorraine – I’ve been at ITV for 21 years– so three to four days a week I’m at the studios. It’s a four hour round trip on the train so I take my laptop and use this time to work on DML,” she said.

“The other days are either filled with having meetings regarding DML or working on photo shoots, product development, trips to my factories in China (one to two times a year) and various beauty exhibitions. Seriously, I never have a day off … the business is 24/7!”

She added: “Deciding to really make a go of DML as a serious business! The first year was kinda fun – me playing on my own, making the products myself and having no real pressure to sell.

“Moving into year two though, I either had to up my game and take on a partner or quit as it was becoming too big to run alone. Taking that leap to say, ‘sod it … what’s the worst that can happen?’ is my mantra!”

She concluded: “I leapt and I survived – and every day is a continuous survival act!!!”
