Christine Lampard and co-star Rochelle Hume suffered an awkward wardrobe blunder live on air

ITV Lorraine host Christine Lampard was left red-faced when she handed over to This Morning presenters Dermot O’Leary and Rochelle Humes live on-air and discovered the women had made a bit of a fashion blunder.

During Tuesday’s episode of ITV’s Lorraine show, Christine took on hosting duties as regular presenter Lorraine Kelly has taken an extended holiday over the summer. Throughout the show, the TV star, 45, was joined by a number of guests as she discussed the week’s trending stories from Love Island winners to Strictly Come Dancing rumoured line-up.

Towards the end of the show, Christine was joined by Rochelle and Dermot on a video link as she gave viewers a glimpse of what they can expect on This Morning. Things turned a little awkward as Dermot couldn’t help but point out that the pair were wearing similar tops.

Dermot looked speechless as he started pointing at Rochelle and Christine’s top. Rochelle went on to say: “Oh my God, look at us Christine.” Dermot jumped in and added: “What?”

Christine pointed out: “We’re working aren’t we and I didn’t even realise but that’s what happens.” Rochelle continued: “We’re giving our best this morning.” Dermot added: “It’s a stripy day and a wonderful vibe.”

Elsewhere in the show, viewers have called for Christine to have a permanent presenting role on the ITV show. With Lorraine Kelly taking a break over summer, Christine and fellow co-stars Ranvir Singh and Louise Minchin have been holding the fort.

However, fans have had enough they are clamouring for Christine to receive more recognition for her hard work. One individual took to X which replaced Twitter to voice their opinion: “Lovely woman Christine should be renamed this show and get rid of that Kelly! ”

Another echoed the sentiment: “TBH they might as well rename it Christine for as long as she’s presenting! Imagine the opening credits..”

One viewer expressed: “I enjoy #Lorraine more when Christine hosts the show. She’s more natural and comes across more genuine.”

According to the viral Where is Lorraine account, Lorraine has hosted 99 episodes of her show out of 150 – which is equal to 66% of episodes.

Janet Street-Porter was the latest celebrity tipped to join Strictly’s upcoming season and as Sunetra Sarker kicked off another Loose Women instalment, the panellist spoke out.

Many celebrities have been rumoured to star in Strictly Come Dancing’s upcoming season but Janet Street-Porter was surprised to hear she was one of them.

Sunetra Sarker filled in for Kaye Adams once again and kicked off this Tuesday’s (July 30, 2024) Loose Women instalment with a huge announcement as she told the live studio audience that the journalist, 77, will be strutting onto the BBC One dancefloor.

Janet said: “No. I was on my way to hospital this morning to have a painkiller injection in my hip, because I’ve just been told I have to have a hip replacement.”

Remembering her conversation with Ruth, who has taken another break from Loose Women, Janet added: “I just went: ‘sorry, not true.’ (…) Unless there’s a competition called Strictly Arm Dancing!”

Previous reports claimed that the full Strictly 2024 line-up had been leaked ahead of a major announcement from the Beeb. Familiar faces in the likes of Hannah Waddingham and Nick Knowles were previously rumoured to be competing later this year.

However, the supposed list, shared in a private Instagram story, included Blue’s Duncan James, Tracy Beaker Returns’ Kia Megg, Dame Laura Kenny, Outnumbered’s Tyger Drew-Honey and This morning’s Gyles Brandreth, among others.

Hearing that he was also tipped to appear on Strictly, Jordan North also responded to the claims in a recent chat on Capital FM with Kemi Rodgers and Chris Stark.

Kemi launched the discussion, saying: “Jordan we’ve seen a rumour, it’s been doing the rounds on TikTok, I’m going to come out and say it. Are you doing Strictly Come Dancing?”

Jordan first coyly replied: “There’s a lot of rumours for these ones, before I started on Capital, a lot of people saying I was going to do Big Brother. I can’t confirm or deny.”

He then added: “If I say to you right now ‘I’m not doing it’ you’ll like ‘ohhhh you’re definitely doing it aren’t you!’ (…) It’s just better to say I can’t confirm nor deny.” Before joking: “If I was on Strictly I would constantly look like I was constipated, it would be awful.”

Jordan then denied: “I’m honestly not doing it but no one will believe me anyway. I can’t dance for toffee, I have no rhythm, the only dance I can dance to, confidently, is a Cha-Cha-Slide. Because they tell you what to do. One hop this time…left right food stomp, right foot left stomp.”

The late queen might have given it a cutesy name, but the diamonds on the brooch are some of the most valuable in the world.

We don’t think of Queen Elizabeth having nicknames for her accessories but it seems some of her jewels had an extra special place in the late monarch’s heart.

Queen Elizabeth had one particular item that she loved so much, she gave it a cute nickname – a stunning diamond brooch that’s considered to be the world’s most valuable.

The stunning item has sentimental value too, having been passed from generation to generation, and been gifted to her from her grandmother, Queen Mary.

The gift inspired Her Majesty to call the brooch ‘granny’s chips’ and considering it was a family heirloom, Queen Elizabeth only wore it a handful of times during her 70-year reign.

The diamonds on the brooch have a deep and fascinating history too, being cut from the Cullinan – named after the South African mine in which it was discovered in 1905 and now forms the centrepiece of the Crown Jewels.

Granny’s chips’ might have got its nickname for being a gift from Queen Mary or be a sign of the Queen’s dry sense of British humour, referencing the small diamonds in the brooch in comparison to the much larger diamonds cut from the Cullinan.

The one-of-a-kind Cullinan – the largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found – weighed in at an incredible 3106 carats (or 621.35 grams).

In comparison, the diamonds on the brooch, The Cullinan III and Cullinan IV, weigh 94.4 and 63.6 carats, respectively.

The diamond has a royal past too, as it was presented to King Edward VII as a symbolic gesture to help mend relations between Britain and South Africa after the Boer War.

The diamonds are considered to have the best characteristics desired in rough stones, clarity and clear white colour. Owing to their nature, there are many legends connected to the Cullinan, including that a man assigned to cutting the diamond fainted when he first cleaved it.

Queen Mary wore the Cullinan III and Cullinan IV diamonds for her coronation in 1911 and ahead of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953, they were handed down to her when she was aged just 27.

The Loose Women star, 64, announced in May that she and her estranged husband Eamonn Holmes, also 64, had started divorce proceedings. They had been married for 14 years but had been together since 1997, sharing one child, a son, Jack. But while Eamonn has reportedly been seeking comfort from a friend he met on social media, Ruth’s life has remained very quiet.

Now, she has taken to social media and hinted that she could be ready to look for love again, almost two months after announcing her split from Eamonn. Taking to Instagram in view of her 1.1 million followers, the telly star revealed she had been soaking up the sun in her sprawling garden as temperatures almost hit 30 degrees.

Sharing a snap on her Instagram Stories, Ruth appeared to be sipping on a nice cold drink from a Love Island cup which she held between her bare legs. Captioning her upload, Rith penned: “@loveisland merch!! What a beautiful day it’s been.” Ruth’s Love Island cup had her name written on it, the same way Islanders in the villa use theirs.

Her post comes after she appeared to hit out at her estranged husband. Over the past few months, it has become clear there is one major issue of contention they’ll struggle to agree on – who will get their beloved dog Maggie? Ruth has been keeping fans updated on their pooch’s health as some have become concerned over her absence on Eamonn’s account.

Maggie, who is 14-years-old, recently had a procedure at the vet to remove a growth. Ruth shared a video earlier this month of Maggie with a shaved back after the operation. She has since shared a sweet photo of the pup to her followers as she enjoyed the sun.

Alongside a snap of Maggie sunbathing on a patio, Ruth wrote: “She always finds the BEST sunbathing spot! My little grey faced girl!” It came just two days after Eamonn issued a message about Maggie to his followers. He shared a photo cuddling Maggie and said: “A lot of you wondering about Maggie. She’s had an op to remove a growth. All well . Not bad for a 14 year old ! In fact she’s in better shape than me.”

Fans thanked Eamonn for the update but urged him to look after himself, with one commenting: “Maggie is beautiful Eamon but please do look after yourself also I hope your notability improves it’s hard to keep an Irish man down.” While another wrote: “Lovely pic Eamon and so pleased Maggie is well love her our fur babies are family hope you’re doing well too living in pain is awful so sending u lots of well wishes.”

In their second television interview on American soil since their explosive 2021 conversation with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex discussed a new initiative aimed at safeguarding children from online abuse.

The interview, aired on CBS with Jane Pauley, follows the recent launch of their ‘Parents Network’, designed to assist parents in protecting their children from cyber abuse.

Since their contentious departure from the Royal Family and relocation to the US in 2020, the Sussexes had anticipated a warmer reception stateside, despite their Oprah interview causing a stir on both sides of the Atlantic.

Although initially well-received in America, the ex-Royals have seen their popularity decline recently. They faced further backlash last month when Prince Harry accepted the ESPY Pat Tillman Award.

The decision sparked public outrage and criticism from Pat Tillman’s mother, who expressed her frustration to the Daily Mail, saying she felt “shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award”.

However, Telegraph columnist Celia Walden suggests that the couple may have scored a significant victory with their latest move, believing they are sincere in their efforts to combat online abuse through their Archewell charity campaign.

Meghan spoke out about the dire consequences of online abuse, urging people to consider it from a parental perspective: “What if it was my daughter, what if it was my son who comes home, who I love, and one day, right under my roof, our entire lives change because of something that was completely out of our control?

“And if you look at it through the lens of a parent, there is no other way to see that than to try to find a solution.”

The interview received immediate praise from social media users, with one commenting: “Having endured more bullying than most, Harry and Meghan truly understand the importance of their project.”

Another user expressed support by saying, “I applaud them for using their spotlight for good”.

It might feel like Swift fever has hit the nation as Taylor Swift returns this month for her final Eras tour dates. But one royal might not be there at the event.

Princess Kate, who has paused royal engagements due to her health status, has not openly come out as a Swiftie but has been vocal about a different singer.

The Princess of Wales has shown her enthusiasm for singer Ellie Goulding who even performed during Kate and Prince William’s first dance as man and wife.

The Love Me Like You Do singer was the headline act at the glittering wedding reception and sang Elton John’s “Your Song”, in front of a star-studded audience including Sir Elton John himself, David and Victoria Beckham, Rowan Atkinson and more.

Since the wedding in 2011, Kate has gone on to attend other events featuring Ellie Goulding and gushed about the star’s talent.

In December 2021, during the height of the pandemic, Kate hosted Royal Carols: Together at Christmas, where Ellie Goulding made another appearance.

The event was reminscent of Kate and William’s wedding as it was hosted in Westminster Abbey where they exchanged their wedding vows.

At the festive event, Ellie sang “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” as Kate and William shared sweet smiles.

And clearly she has royal connections as the British singer is close friends with William’s cousin Princess Eugenie.

The songstress, 34, previously opened up about singing Elton John’s “Your Song” at the royals’ reception and her surprise at being the headliner.

The Monica Vinader Siren Stud earrings, that you can also shop at Selfridges, have been described as ‘gorgeous’ by those who have bought them. They are also said to be ‘very comfortable to wear’ and ‘good for office and evening’.

The ongoing feud between Prince William and Prince Harry is under fresh scrutiny, with a particular photograph being pinpointed as the moment when the strain between the sons of King Charles began to surface.

Richard Eden, the Royal expert for the Daily Mail, suggests that the rift between William and his wife Princess Kate, and Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, was evident as far back as November 2018 – two years prior to the announcement of Megxit, which saw the Sussexes relinquish their senior Royal roles and relocate to America.

Eden draws attention to a picture taken after a service commemorating the centenary of WW1 armistice at Westminster Abbey in that year, where he notes the seemingly “tense” countenances of William and Kate.

Identifying the couple’s tight jaws in the image, Eden links their demeanour to a “lack of warmth” towards the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

He elaborated on the Reading The Royals YouTube series by the publication: “This photograph is of them leaving Westminster Abbey after a service to mark Armistice Day, and at the time, we might have thought their seriousness was because of the nature of the event – that they would always look very sombre.

“But, actually, there was a lot going on behind-the-scenes.

“There was a reminder at this event of the order of things for Harry and Meghan, because they were seated on the second row behind William and Catherine, who were on the front row with Queen Elizabeth, and with Charles and Camilla.”

The Royal commentator remarked: “I haven’t noticed this before, but look at their jaws in this photograph, my goodness, they look tense.

“It’s far from a portrait of a relaxed family together, and this lack of warmth between them came after reports began to emerge that the two courts of William and Catherine, and Harry and Meghan would be splitting.”

Eden noted that this was a significant story at the time, as everything the Royal couples had done up to that point were joint efforts, including their Royal Foundation and their offices.

He added: “These reports suggested that all wasn’t well, and it would later be confirmed that they were going to separate, and it was the first sign of the formal separation between the two households.”

Prince Harry has melted hearts after he was snapped planting a sweet kiss on his baby daughter, Princess Lilibet’s nose.

The adorable and rare photograph was shown in the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s docuseries on Netflix, Harry & Meghan.

In episode six, the couple talked about their second child, Princess Lilibet Diana of Sussex, born June 6, 2021, and delighted royal fans after they showed never-before-seen snaps of the then-newborn.

Harry’s black and white photograph showed the duke preciously holding his tiny daughter, who was wrapped up in a blanket, placed upon his hands while softly kissing her nose.

In another snap, Lilibet could be seen making faces as she slept on dad Harry, while he gently patted and stroked her back.

In a personal video shown in the Netflix series, Meghan could be seen saying to Lilibet in a soft voice: “It’s okay. Are you ready to eat? Let’s have some milk. Hi Lili.”

The duchess said of her daughter’s birth: “There was something that felt so complete, once we had Lilibet.

“Everyone just really respected that we’d been through so much and, we, like any parent, deserved to just welcome their child into the world peacefully.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s daughter was born at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California.

After her arrival, her parents said in a statement: “On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe. ”

The young royal’s name is a sweet nod to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth who was affectionately nicknamed ‘Lilibet’ when she was little, and after her late grandmother, Princess Diana.

Lilibet was christened on March 3, 2023 in a private service at the Sussexes’s Montecito home by the Bishop of Los Angeles, John H. Taylor, with her godfather being American actor and comedian Tyler Perry and the identity of her godmother still unknown.

The Duchess of York has posted a sweet picture of herself with her eldest daughter Princess Beatrice to mark her 36th birthday today.

Sarah Ferguson, 64, shared the black and white image with Princess Beatrice on Instagram as she wished her daughter ‘Happy Birthday’.

The picture, which amassed over 8,000 likes in just a few hours, shows the pair with their heads close together, with a grinning Sarah seemingly whispering something into Beatrice’s ear.

While Beatrice’s face is obscured, Sarah, whose hair is tied back, is looking at the camera.

Sarah’s post is accompanied by a touching caption praising her ‘amazing daughter’.

In a surprise turn of events, Princess Beatrice was crowned the best-dressed person of 2024 by Tatler following rather daring sartorial choices in the past.

The fashion turnaround is in part down to celebrity stylist Olivia Buckingham, who introduced Beatrice to haute couture fashion.
