“I just throw everything everywhere, so it just did not work at all.

“I’m always talking, always arguing and he was the complete opposite of that. He would listen to music, he would want peace, he would want to be chilled and it’s just the complete opposite end of the spectrum of where I was at.”

The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady Live Comedy Special streamed on Sunday and featured a slew of comedians and stars making brutal jokes about the 46-year-old retired NFL star.

During Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, David shared that he watched the live event but that he would “definitely not” subject himself to such scrutiny.

New figures released by Netflix and obtained by DailyMail.com show that not only has viewer interest in Meghan and Harry fallen off a cliff,

the couple has been well and truly eclipsed by the popularity of their former friends, David and Victoria Beckham.

Engagement figures for 2023, released last week, reveal that the Beckhams’ eponymous documentary hit the top spot for global viewing with a whopping 43.9million views between July and December last year.

In that same period Harry & Meghan’s Limited Series Volumes I and II, limped in with just 1.9million views and 12.6million total views across the year.

When it first aired in December 2022 the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s docuseries was an instant hit, giving Netflix its biggest debut with 81.6million hours viewed in the first four days.

But, after an initial frenzy, figures began a steady slide as millions of viewers lost interest and the series lost traction well before the sixth episode aired.

The show has now slumped to 211 on the streaming platform’s global chart while ‘Beckham’ is No. 1 with 3.5 times the viewing figures and 208.5million hours viewed in the first two months alone.

The disparity is perhaps due in part to the fact that fans who had tuned into Harry and Meghan’s docuseries hoping for insight and intimacy were instead left tired by their relentlessly, ‘woe is me’ tone. Viewers complained about the couple’s self-absorption and the fact that for all their enviable privilege they seemed to do nothing but bemoan their lot.

In stark contrast ‘Beckham’ was a show that left viewers uplifted by the Beckham’s family life, relationship and work ethic. Fans raved at the couple’s ‘resilience,’ and marveled at Beckham’s self-effacing grit and ambition.

This was a couple viewers could get behind, where Harry and Meghan were a couple viewers could leave behind.

In recent months there has been increased speculation that Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, could lose the $100million deal that they inked with Netflix back in 2020.

Aside from their flagging docuseries the couple’s much-vaunted Netflix deal has so far only produced two shows which, the latest figures show, have struggled to generate any interest at all.

‘Heart of Invictus,’ released in August 2023 and covering Prince Harry’s games for wounded warriors wheezed across the line with just 300,000 views in 2023.

‘Live to Lead,’ released in December 2022, about inspiring world leaders and featuring interviews with Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Gloria Steinem garnered just 800,000 views.

And when it comes to bang for their buck the Sussex’s with their $100million deal are a long way from keeping up with the Beckhams whose 43.9million views cost Netflix a comparatively modest $20million.

Coincidentally that is the size of the Spotify deal that Harry and Meghan lost when it fell apart in 2023 with just 12 episodes of Meghan’s ‘Archetypes’ podcast to show for it.

Speaking at the time Spotify’s Head of Podcast Innovation and Monetization, Bill Simmons, famously described the couple as ‘grifters,’ saying, ‘I wish I had been involved in the ‘Meghan and Harry leave Spotify’ negotiation. ‘ The F***ing Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we should have launched with them.’

Now, sources are speculating that their Netflix deal may be about to go the same way with Meghan’s cooking and lifestyle show and Harry’s documentary about polo being described as ‘padding,’ by some, while others ask what they have left to share now that their relationship with the rest of the royal family is all but over.

Harry and Meghan’s one-time close friendship with Victoria and David Beckham has similarly soured. The former Spice Girl turned clothes designer and her husband were guests at the Sussex’s wedding back in May 2018.

Meghan often wore Victoria’s designs with the older woman opening her little black book of UK stylists to her when she first set up home in the country.

Later, according to biographer Tom Bower, David, 49, and Victoria, 50, offered the couple refuge in their Los Angeles home when they were looking for a place in the States.

But according to Bower a telephone call from Harry to the former Manchester United star left Beckham ‘furious’ and effectively ended the once warm friendship.

According to Bower the royals were concerned that close friends were leaking stories about them to the press and Meghan particularly suspected Victoria. Harry called and repeated this accusation to Beckham and the rest, and the friendship, is history.

Now, to rub salt into the wounds of the Beckhams’ soaring popularity in the face of the Sussex’s decline, Beckham has probably spent more time with King Charles III than Harry has this year, as the former England captain has been announced as the newest ambassador to the King’s Foundation.

Prince William is “furious” with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle because the pair “deliberately” refer to his wife as Kate instead of Catherine.

The Princess of Wales reportedly asked her friends to refer to her as Catherine instead of Kate just before she married into the Royal Family, because it is the name she prefers.

However, the Prince of Wales has reportedly taken offence to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly referring to his wife as Kate “even when they were sending her get-well-soon messages after her cancer diagnosis”, according to a friend of the couple.

A friend of William and Catherine told The Daily Beast: “William takes offence at people calling Catherine ‘Kate’, because she has asked to be known as Catherine.

“It’s a fairly simple wish to respect. I’m sure Meghan wouldn’t like it if William started publicly calling her ‘Meghan Markle’.

Another friend of the couple added that it was “bloody rude” of Harry and Meghan to call the Princess of Wales Kate.

“No one’s saying it’s responsible for all the trouble, but deliberately calling someone by a name they don’t like is just bloody rude,” said the friend.

“If Harry and Meghan were serious about healing their issue, a good first step would be to call her Catherine.”

The apparent reluctance on Harry and Meghan’s part to call the Princess of Wales by her preferred name was “an entirely unnecessary and deliberate irritation” and may have contributed to William and Kate’s refusal to respond to Harry and Meghan’s expressions of sympathy after her cancer diagnosis.

The channel announced the collaboration today saying: “A new documentary series following Victoria Beckham and her fashion and beauty business is coming to Netflix! The series will tell the story of Victoria’s reinvention as a Creative Director of her own brand.”

While no date has been given or broadcast it is not unlikely the two women could find themselves pitted against each other for ratings. Harry and Meghan are currently working on two new series for the streaming giant – one which will “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship” and a second one that will be shot at the US Open Polo Championship.

As such, Victoria joining the Netflix family, will be a blow for Meghan, whose previous offerings for the channel have received a lukewarm reception and failed to secure an Emmy nod. By contrast Victoria’s husband David’s offering for the streamer, entitled simply Beckham, received five Emmy nods something Victoria will be hoping to build on.

The Sussexes first documentary series for the streamer Harry and Meghan was confirmed as Netflix’s second-biggest documentary series to date in January 2023.

Despite this it wasn’t well recieved by critics and it failed to secure any Emmy nominations.

Their second offering Live To Lead didn’t even crack the top 100 shows on release and received an even more brutal critical drubbing.

Meghan and Harry will be hoping their next series to fare better when they are released.

Meghan and Victoria were once said to be close friends, with the pop star turned fashion designer even attending her 2018 wedding to Harry in Windsor. However, it seems they have drifted apart which will only add to any ratings rivalry.

Saira Khan, the former Loose Women panellist, has opened up about her time on the show, why she decided to leave, and the friendships she maintains post-exit in a candid chat. In an exclusive with Woman’s Own magazine, the one-time Apprentice star who shot to fame as the runner-up in the inaugural 2005 series reflected on her stint from 2015 to 2020 on the panel of the hit daytime TV show.

She explained her departure from Loose Women, saying: “It was more about me growing up and saying, ‘Look, this is what I like, and this is what I don’t like,’ and some of the things that go on, I was just not comfortable with it, and I think you have to be honest with it.”

“It doesn’t mean you’re falling out, it just means it’s not enough for me.”

 

Khan also dished on her current ties with her ex-co-stars. “I recently went out with Ruth [Langsford] to go and see Coleen [Nolan] on her solo tour in Blackpool,” she revealed.

Post-Loose Women, Saira took on the gruelling SAS: Who Dares Wins, joining celebs like Kerry Katona, James Cracknell, Alexandra Burke, and Wes Nelson. She’s also been seen on the Jeremy Vine on 5 morning show, which she admits to preferring over her Loose Women gig.

“I wouldn’t go back to Loose Women I’ve done that and I think I’ve come out of it realising I want to move forward, and I want to do things that I really enjoy,” she shared. “Also, Jeremy Vine gives me space to talk about politics as well as just talking about my private life and who I am. I think people can get a bit bored of that, and the same subjects.”

“I also like the diversity of it, and that it’s not just all females there’s men and women, and I quite like that. It’s a bit more real life, and you can have a bit more laughter.”

When she joined Jeremy’s show earlier this year, she told The Mirror : “After taking a few years off the telly, it was nice to be back and I didn’t realise how much I missed it. It was Jeremy [Vine] who persuaded me to come back.”

She added: “I think it’s good to have a break and I feel more confident now about who I am and what I want to say.”
