The King was just two miles away but too busy to meet Harry.

The Duke of Sussex hugged his late mum’s brother and sister Earl Spencer, 59, and Lady Jane Fellowes, 67, outside St Paul’s Cathedral ahead of a service marking ten years of his Invictus Games.

Three cousins — George McCorquodale, 39, Louis Spencer, 30, and Lara Spencer, 18 — sat in a row behind Harry.

Just down the road, the King, Queen Camilla and royals mingled among 8,000 guests on the Palace lawns.

Harry had been keen to meet his dad on a three-day UK visit, but on Tuesday his office said it was not possible due to the King’s busy diary.

A decade ago Charles, Camilla and Prince William had joined Harry at the first Invictus Games in London.

Yesterday, Earl Spencer and Baroness Fellowes supported him at the hour-long service followed by a drinks reception in the St Paul’s crypt.

Harry arrived at 5pm and greeted his aunt and uncle before taking his seat.

He gave a reading, as did actor Damian Lewis. Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine and friend of Diana, said the Spencers’ presence was significant.

She said: “They are very supportive of Harry and always have been.
King Charles’ second snub to Prince Harry was ‘deliberately timed’ after four years of attacks – royals do nothing on accident, expert says
“It sends a clear signal to the Royal Family and to Harry that Diana’s family are there for him.

“At his address at Diana’s funeral, Charles Spencer said he would look out for William and Harry in her place.

‘Sucked up by the Royal Family’

“He said ‘We your blood family will do all we can to continue the imaginative way in which you were steering theses two exceptional young men so that their souls are not simply immersed by duty and tradition but can sing openly as you had planned’.

“Charles Spencer wanted the Spencer family to be prominent above all others, but the boys were sucked up by the Royal Family.

“Now that Harry has left the Royal Family, the Spencers have laid claim to him again.”

The King, back to public duties despite cancer treatment, led the royals at Buckingham Palace from 4pm.

    Prince Harry’s statement in full

A spokesperson for Prince Harry said:

“In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week:

“It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

Also on the lawns were Princess Anne, Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Edward and Sophie, plus the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

The only working royals missing were the Prince and Princess of Wales.

William had conducted an investiture in Windsor earlier in the day, and Kate is not carrying out public duties due to her own cancer fight.

The Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra were missing as they are carrying out less engagements due to their frailty.

The King then began greeting charity heroes with warm handshakes and big smiles. He was heard saying: “I’m not doing badly”. Asked ‘How are you feeling?’, he replied: “Not too bad.”

He chatted with Royal Commonwealth Society members plus Team GB’s synchronised swimming team — promising to watch them at the Paris Olympics.

In all, he spent around an hour with guests despite doctors “calibrating” his engagements.

This morning he will meet the 3 Royal School of Military Engineering (3RSME) at Gibraltar Barracks in Surrey.

He and Harry have not seen each other since February when the US-based Duke flew 5,000 miles following his father’s diagnosis.

    WILLS ON DUTY AT WINDSOR

PRINCE William was just 25 miles away from Harry as he dished out gongs yesterday.

England goalkeeping heroes Mary Earps and Peter Shilton both picked up honours.

Shilton, 74, discussed England men’s Euros prospects with Wills as he was made a CBE.

He told reporters in Windsor: “I think we can win it. You just need a bit of luck . . . a bad referee decision.”

Earps, 31, was made an MBE for her services to football.

She said it will be the highlight of her season when she plays for Man United against Tottenham in the Women’s FA Cup final on Sunday.

The pair then spoke for just 30 minutes. Today is Harry’s last in the UK before he and wife Meghan visit Nigeria for Invictus events.

He is currently appealing a decision to remove his automatic right to 24-hour armed police in the UK, stripped after Megxit.

One guard sat in the front row of the cathedral, while ex-Barack Obama bodyguard Christopher Sanchez watched on six feet behind the Duke.

Harry wore four medals on his chest including one awarded from his gran, Queen Elizabeth II for services to the monarchy.

But for the second time in recent weeks he failed to wear his King’s Coronation Medal.

Harry & the King can’t play happy families with such huge public attention, says The Sun’s Matt Wilkinson

    By Matt Wilkinson, Royal Editor

Prince Harry is in London but he won’t meet his father The King.

The Duke of Sussex arrived from LA alone without Meghan or their children for a busy diary of events marking 10 years of his Invictus Games.

Before setting off from California it is understood Harry was said to have been “keen’ to see the King for only the second time since his cancer diagnosis.

It is rather telling that confirmation there will be no meeting has come from the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex rather than Buckingham Palace.

His team say “it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full program”.

They add: “The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

Now, the word that jumps out is “priorities”.

The King, we understand, is busy as he returns to public duty.

For instance, on Tuesday while Harry was in London the King was carrying out his constitutional duty and meeting the Prime Minister of Fiji at the palace.

He is also set to host a palace garden party and weekly audience with the Prime Minister on Wednesday.

And Harry’s diary is packed full for three days with Invictus. However, they will be at times just two miles apart and risk even driving past each other on London’s roads.

Some observers may see this as “sad” that father and son cannot find time.

Others may say that it’s understandable as both have work commitments and “priorities”.

But maybe there has just been too much water under the bridge for father and son to play happy families amid such huge public attention.

ROYAL RIFT King Charles wants no part of his son Harry’s ‘circus’ – it’ll take time to rebuild their relationship, expert says

KING Charles snubbed Prince Harry because he doesn’t want anything to do with his son’s ‘circus’, a royal expert has claimed.

The prince jetted all the way from California for a service at St Paul’s Cathedral to mark the 10th anniversary of his Invictus Games Wednesday afternoon.

Harry left the service at 6.45pm – just as Charles wrapped up the first Buckingham Palace garden party of the year.

A spokesperson for Harry said the prince will not meet Charles on his whistle-stop UK tour – because the King is too busy.

Royal expert Robert Jobson claims to know the real reason why they won’t meet.

Speaking to The Sun, he said: “People think if Harry rolls into town there’s going to be some sort of reconciliation.

“But you’re going to realize there’s been a lot of water under the bridge, a lot of portrayal of trust.

“That takes time to rebuild, to rebuild, and I don’t think we’re anywhere near the stage of rebuilding trust.

He added: “Harry effectively took it by himself to come see his dad when he said that he that he had been diagnosed with cancer that would be seen by as many as a good thing.

“But at the time I think the King didn’t want all the media circus that would accompany Harry’s arrival.”

It comes after royal author Ingrid Seward claimed Charles “snubbed” Harry as he feared he’d be used as a PR tool to boost his son’s image.

She explained: “He’s the father of Harry. It would look nice if they met.

“He probably he doesn’t want it to be used as a PR opportunity.

“Or maybe Harry’s being the one being difficult and we we just don’t know.”

On Wednesday the duke cut a lonely figure at his glitzy bash while Charles greeted well-wishers two miles away.

Harry’s spokesperson said: “It unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

“The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon.”

In a second snub, Charles revealed Prince William will take charge of Harry’s former helicopter regiment next week.

Insiders claim Harry made multiple attempts to arrange a meeting with his dad before flying 5,000 miles for three days in the UK.

Harry flew to the UK alone without Meghan or their children Archie and Lilibet.

But Meghan will join Harry on his visit to Nigeria later this week, it’s understood.

Wayne Rooney bids $150,000 for a night out with Diddy in resurfaced footage amid latest wave of sex claims against the rapper

Resurfaced footage shows Wayne Rooney bidding $150,000 for a night out with Diddy – years before the latest wave of sex claims against the rapper.

The football star won David Beckham‘s World Cup charity auction in May 2006 to spend the weekend with Diddy in New York.

At the time, Diddy – aka Sean John Combs – insisted he would make his mark on the footballer, vowing Rooney would return a ‘changed man’.

‘After he comes to New York, we’ll probably be cousins. It’ll be a non-stop party with lots of sexy ladies,’ said the rapper.

The extraordinary footage starts with the music mogul climbing on stage uninvited to join Beckham, who was hosting the star-studded event on the grounds of his mansion in Hertfordshire.

Diddy says: ‘I don’t mean to interrupt you, but I’m in a giving mood […] and I would like to auction something off.

‘Being that I don’t spend a lot of time here, and I don’t really know the crowd, if you win you get your choice of one or the other. Choice A is a weekend at my house in the Hamptons, fully staffed, on the water, East Hampton, New York.’

He adds: ‘Number two is a studio session with me in New York, or London, I’ll produce a record for you and your kids. Or number three is a night out with Diddy, Saturday night in New York. And I promise you, your a** will wake up Wednesday, laying beside me.’

After various A-List stars including Sharon Osbourne begin to bid on the offer, Rooney wins by settling on $150,000, on the condition he can bring along a friend.

Rooney’s wife Coleen reportedly stopped her husband from attending the night out in New York with Diddy, according to the rapper.

Diddy was arrested last month on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

It is alleged that he hosted parties involving illegal drugs, underage girls, hidden cameras and sex workers.

The list of Diddy’s accomplices includes prominent executives and bankers, according to a lawyer representing alleged victims of the rapper.

Multiple lawsuits by 120 accusers will mention ‘household names’ as well as companies and individuals who were aware of and profited from Diddy’s alleged crimes, attorney Tony Buzbee said on Tuesday.

The legal filings seek to go after the banks, pharmaceutical companies and hotels that allegedly aided the mogul.

‘We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates,’ Buzbee said in a press conference in Houston.

Buzbee added: ‘The day will come when we will name names other than Sean Combs, and there’s a lot of names. It’s a long list already,… The names will shock you.’

Buzbee’s co-counsel said the lawsuits will go after ‘any venue or venue owner who was aware of what was going on.’

The lawyers stated they plan to file lawsuits in several states over the next 30 days and pledged to reveal the names at a later date.

Buzbee confirmed that half the plaintiffs are male and that most of the alleged assaults took place in New York, California, Georgia and Florida. The complaints date back to 1991.

Prince of Wales is joined by A-list celebrity in the cockpit of a helicopter as he visits the Air Ambulance Charity

Prince William teamed up with none another than David Beckham to view new London Air Ambulance Charity helicopters this morning.

The former England captain, 49, and future King, 42, visited RAF Northolt in Ruislip, West London, to view two aircrafts and celebrate smashing a £15million fundraising target to replacing the ageing fleet.

The pair greeted each other like old friends and they were pictured laughing in the cockpit together, while William couldn’t resist taking the pilot’s seat.

The football legend revealed that the Prince of Wales had reached out with a rare personal phone call to arrange the trip – and that he had to ‘hide his excitement’ at the news.

He said: ‘It was just an honour to be invited by Prince William to be involved with this.’

When asked to shed more light on the personal invitation, he added: ‘Yeah, I know what this means to Prince William.

‘And the moment he called and asked me, yeah I had to hide my excitement a little bit because like I said, I’ve been a fan of the London Air Ambulance for a long time, being an East end boy.

‘These guys rely on public funding, donations, so the fact I could get involved so that we could raise the money that we raised and bought one of these incredible helicopters! So it’s nice to help in a small way.’

William, who worked as an air ambulance pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance between March 2015 and July 2017, again sported his designer stubble – which is also a favourite of the star athlete.

The new H135 helicopters are a result of the ‘Up Against Time’ fundraising appeal, which was launched in 2021, after it became clear that within a matter of years, the London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s MD902 helicopters would be out of service, which would have severely affected the outcomes for thousands of patients every year.

The appeal raised £16 million enabling the purchase of two new H135 helicopters which will ensure the medical team can continue to provide their vital services across London.

Four million of that was raised by the Omaze campaign for the appeal, which was backed by Beckham.

Football fan William and David were all smiles as they enjoyed this morning visit, and even appeared to share a joke as they both got into the cockpit of a helicopter together.

Both men signed each of the aircraft, with Willam writing ‘back in the middle!’ on one and Beckham writing ‘thank you! Fly safe, love David Beckham’, signed off with a kiss and the number 7 – his former shirt number.

Elsewhere, both were pictured being shown the charity’s medical equipment and tech – as well as taking selfies with the crew.

The pair also appeared to sport similar ensembles, both opting for black suits teamed with white shirts.

Beckham said he’d been honoured to ‘celebrate what these guys do, to meet the medics, to meet the pilots.

‘It’s something that like I say, as an East End boy, I’ve seen these in the air for many many years and I know the work that they do, the incredible work that they do.’

When the prince chatted to the pilots, he turned to point at one of the decommissioned helicopters and said: ‘I can’t believe they’re 20 years old.’

Pilot Pete Driver responded and said he didn’t expect to get so emotional during this last flight in the aircraft, adding: ‘They have been fantastic.’

Speaking with the Airbus engineers who were involved in the creation and development of the new helicopters, William said: ‘I can’t believe it’s materialised, this is it!’

Before heading for a private reception with some of the charity’s executives and donors, William spoke to two patients who the London Air Ambulance Charity had treated.

The Prince heard how Matt Smith, 60, wouldn’t have been here today if it wasn’t for the rapid response of one of the helicopters.

He was waiting to cross the road in May 2003 when a car ploughed into him, breaking both his eye sockets, both cheek bones, nose, left arm and the ribs down his left side.

‘I would have been dead if it wasn’t for the London Air Ambulance,’ he said afterwards.

Wiilliam was originally planned to join the delivery flight of one of the helicopters from the military airfield to the Royal London Hospital.

But due to the heavy downpours and low cloud cover impairing visibility, the flight was cancelled.

Prince William, who is president of the Football Association, has a friendly relationship with the Beckham family, with David and Victoria attending his wedding to Kate in 2012, as well as Harry and Meghan’s wedding in 2018.

The former England captain has remained close to both the battling brothers – as well as their father, King Charles.

In 2020, David appeared in a video for William’s charity Heads Up, while the pair have attended various football games together, including with his son Romeo in the Royal Box at Wembley.

David also queued for 13 hours to see the late Queen lying in state at Westminster Hall – refusing to skip the line.

After paying his respects to Her Late Majesty, he said: ‘Anytime throughout my career I’ve been asked to do anything regarding the royal family, Her Majesty, the princes, our King now, I have always been very willing to do that.

‘I grew up in a family that were royalists. Today I think back to my grandparents because if my grandparents were alive they would have been here, so it’s nice to be here to celebrate with everybody the life of Her Majesty and her legacy that she leaves.’

David also joined the Prince and Princess of Wales at Earthshot Awards in Boston last year.

He also invited them to his son Brooklyn’s wedding, which they sadly couldn’t attend but did wish the family a ‘great deal of joy’.

Speaking about William and Harry in 2012, William said: ‘They’re two people who have grown up in the spotlight and the respect that I have for them, and that people in our country and all over the world have for them, is amazing,’

‘I have a huge amount of respect for William and Harry because of what they’ve been through from a very young age. They’re a credit obviously to their mum and everyone in the Royal Family.’

Later on today, William visited the 2023 Earthshot Prize Finalist, ENSO, in Brentford, west London.

The visit comes as they announce a pioneering new strategic partnership with Uber across the UK and USA.

While there, William showed himself to be the Prince of Wheels as he changed one of ENSO’s environmentally tyres after the major Uber deal was signed.

At a Kia garage in west London, the future king was offered the chance by ENSO’s senior tyre technician Andrew Bernard, 28, to change the first tyre on its inaugural Uber vehicle, a Kia e-Niro.

Andrew admired his suit saying: ‘You’re looking very dapper!’ Asked whether he had changed a tyre before before, the prince said: ‘Oh loads of times!’

‘This should be a walk in the park then,’ joked Andrew.

The laughing royal added: ‘Not necessarily with quite so much pressure at this.’

But William handled the tool knowledgeably, with Andrew even saying: ‘You did that better than me. You can replace me.’ William later managed to put two nuts back on.

He was then asked to help put it back on and peppered Andrew with questions about how the technology worked.

‘Dreamwork makes the team work,’ the fitter said. He told William he had been working for ENSO for a year and had ‘loved every minute of it.

‘The company’s going from strength to strength at the moment,’ William said.

‘Fantastic, ‘ said Andrew, ‘if you’ve got some spare time you should come and work with us.’

‘I wouldn’t drive it quite yet,’ quipped the prince.

‘You’ve done this before,’ interjected the company’s founder, Gunnlaugur Erlendsson known as ‘G’. ‘I’ll give you a job.’

Andrew said afterwards with a reference to Queen Elizabeth who famously learned to change her own tyres when she worked in the ATS during the Second World War: ‘He was very attentive with everything I threw at him and clearly knew what he was doing. If his grandmother could do it, then so could he. He was great, easy going and down to earth.’

During the visit, The Prince talked to the founder and CEO of ENSO, Mr Erlendsson, to hear how the business has developed and scaled since.

William, 42, admitted he hadn’t been aware of the scale of global tyre pollution until he met the ENSO team.

‘I don’t think many members of the public understand,’ he said.

Uber Global CMO Jill Hazelbaker, whose firm is meeting up to 50 per cent of the costs involved in changing to ENSO tyres, told him: ‘We love the impact you are all having.

‘You are finding these amazing entrepreneurs and innovators and helping them to scale up. Our customers want us to invest in products that are more sustainable and our drivers want options that are low cost. So it’s a win for us all. ‘

William said he hoped Earthshot’s rigorous process of selection was giving business the confidence to seize the opportunity.

Hannah Jones, CEO of The Earthshot Prize, told the prince they were continuing to work with Uber on other environmental solutions provided by other Earthshot finalists.

‘It really exciting. Meeting the best and brightest. What you are doing is incredible,’ Ms Hazelbaker told the prince. ‘It’s a match made in heaven.’

‘We want to scale that momentum faster and bigger,’ enthused William. It’s really exciting. We are so pleased.’

‘We couldn’t be prouder or happier and we are going to do this at pace,’ agreed the ENSO founder.

William’s visit to the charity comes after he revealed just a few weeks ago he would ‘love’ to fly helicopters again during a visit to the Wales Air Ambulance headquarters in Llanelli, South Wales.

During the visit, William revealed there are plans in the pipeline to fly with the Wales Air Ambulance from its base in Cardiff Bay.

He talked shop with the pilots and crew of the £8.5m Airbus H145S chopper, which he is still qualified to fly.

The Prince of Wales also revealed he would love to make a ‘comeback’ and get behind the controls of a helicopter again.

He said during the visit: ‘I’d love to fly again, I could volunteer for a weekend to make a come back.’

Prince William is a patron of the Wales Air Ambulance charity that saves hundreds of lives each year by getting medical teams to accident scenes in their 138mph helicopters.

He was told about developments at the charity since his last visit in 2023 and chatted to flight crews about the latest medical technology on board the fleet of air ambulances.

His visit marked the annual National Air Ambulance Week which raises funds to keep flying doctors in the air.

William completed his training as a helicopter pilot in the RAF Search and Rescue Force back in 2010, later flying an air ambulance for two years before stepping down to take on more royal roles on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.

He was known as Flight Lieutenant Wales when he served with the RAF in Angelsey, North Wales.

During his three-year tour, he took part in 156 search and rescue operations – during which 149 people were rescued.

William has in the past flown his family around on helicopters, such as taking them to the Commonwealth Games in 2022.

However, the late Queen reportedly did not like to see her grandson flying around in helicopters.

Our King by Robert Jobson claims Queen Elizabeth warned William against flying with his eldest son Prince George because of her fears of a tragic accident that would threaten the future of the monarchy.

A source previously told The Sun: ‘Her Majesty has told close friends and courtiers that she would like William to stop flying himself, particularly in bad weather, as helicopters are not the safest form of transport.’

The source added it made the Queen ‘nervous’ and kept her awake at night.

In May this year, William took to the skies in an Apache helicopter after being crowned the leader of his brother’s former Army regiment by King Charles.

Prince Harry qualified as an Apache helicopter commander in 2013, after three years of training.

If Harry and Meghan had not stepped down as working royals in 2020, the appointment as Colonel-in-Chief would likely have been his.

William has made clear his love for piloting helicopters over the years.

Emotional Amanda Abbington gives first interview after Giovanni Pernice strictly report

Amanda Abbington spoke to Newsnight’s Victoria Derbyshire about her allegations made against Strictly Come Dancing partner Giovanni Pernice

Amanda Abbington has made claims about Giovanni Pernice’s behaviour during their lone Strictly rehearsals in her first interview since a report was published into her complaints to the BBC.

The actress, 50, made a shocking claim in a new bombshell BBC interview. She opened up on her torment on Newsnight and said she hadn’t responded well to Giovanni’s way of teaching. After Victoria Derbyshire asked the Sherlock star about the behaviour, Amanda detailed a complaint with a shaky voice: “Um, yeah. It was one of the allegations that was upheld. There were two allegations,” she said before apologising for checking her 30-page probe report. “There were two allegations of inappropriate conduct of a sexual nature. They were upheld and one of them was physical and one was verbal.”

A visibly shaken Amanda then said the other allegation was verbal before saying: “And they weren’t isolated one-off incidents. They were over a period of seven weeks.” The latest claims come after six of her 17 allegations against the Italian dancer were upheld following an internal investigation at the BBC.

Victoria read out Giovanni’s past statement at one point, adding that the Italian dancer told Newnight: “We are unable to comment any further and the BBC has asked both parties to respect confidentially.” Giovanni has previously strongly denied all of Amanda’s past allegations.

“It’s been one of the worst years of my life,” Abbington told BBC Newsnight. “I’ve been through a lot, women go through a lot, but it has been a very unpleasant, turbulent, relentless time in my life. I’ve had to deal with a myriad of horrible things.”

The 50-year-old said that, in the last eight months, the number of threats she has received had “gone into the hundreds”.

In August, the Metropolitan Police confirmed they were investigating after they were called to the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park to an alleged death threat sent to Abbington, who was starring in When It Happens To You.

“I had a credible death threat sent to my place of work, a theatre that I was working at, which was credible and the police had to be called,” Abbington said.

“I had a bomb threat sent to my place of work, threatening to blow the building up because I was pursuing this. I’ve had death threats sent to me, my family.

“I’ve had rape threats sent to my 15-year-old daughter, saying ‘I’m just laughing at the moment thinking about you having to watch your daughter get raped for what you’ve done to Giovanni Pernice’.

“They were every day I’d be getting those and I have screenshots that have been handed over to the Met Police.”

Amanda said the threats had “started up again” since the publication of the BBC review on Monday. She said she has been receiving threats including “I hope you die of cancer” and “I knew you’d get proven wrong you lying c***”.

Despite the threats, Abbington said “I’ve got no regrets” about lodging complaints against Pernice. “The death threats and the rape threats and the abuse I get are horrible and soul-destroying and heart-breaking,” she said.

“But I do get women coming up to me in the street saying ‘You’re paving the way for my daughter to work in a safe environment and not feel threatened or in any way feel that they can’t speak out’.”

During the interview, Abbington also claimed she was not the only person to have complained about working with Pernice on the BBC flagship show.

She said she invited the former Strictly contestants to her home because “we wanted to make sure we weren’t on our own thinking this had just happened to us”.

Amanda said when they first they “all burst into tears”.

In a post shared on Instagram on Monday, after the results of the BBC investigation were made public, Giovanni said: “It’s over, it’s finished, six months, seven months of all of this.Seven months of reading things every day in the newspaper and not being able to respond because I wanted to keep the confidentiality and privacy of the review, (it) was a difficult time.

“It was difficult because, you know, reading stuff that (was) untrue, wasn’t the nicest time of my life lets be honest. But today I’m happy because, at the beginning there were very, very serious allegations thrown out at me but today, none of the serious allegations have been upheld.

“All the threatening, abusive, harassment behaviour allegations have not been upheld. Today is a day when we can all reflect because, I appreciate that dancing is a very difficult thing to do. It’s a sport, it’s something that is difficult in every possible way and sometimes you get frustrated, as a teacher, as a dancer, as a performer. But the only reason why you get frustrated is because you care about what you do.

“You know as a professional, as a teacher, I want to get the best out of my partner, and sometimes I do get frustrated. I think everybody around the world does the same thing, it’s called being professional and I love doing that. You know even now with Bianca (Guaccero, his partner on the Italian equivalent of Strictly, Ballando con le Stelle), I get frustrated, I think it’s a normal thing, but then you get out the best and the results come forward.”

The probe uncovered moments of “inappropriate behaviour of sexual banter in the workplace” including an incident where Pernice made an improper signal clear violation of the BBC codes. In reflecting on the BBCs proclamation, Amanda emphasised that coming forward “was not an easy thing to do”.

Meanwhile, the BBC asserted: “Strictly Come Dancing is a family show and we rightly expect very high standards. While competition can be tough, rigorous and demanding, we want the show to ultimately be a joyous and transformative experience. It is a great shame if this hasn’t been the case for everyone who has appeared on the show. We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all. We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part. We know this would not have been an easy thing to do.”

A source reportedly close to Amanda said earlier this week: “Amanda is delighted and relieved, and feels her decision to speak out and complain has been rewarded. She hopes other celebrities might come forward now, safe in the knowledge they, too, will be listened to.”

The source told The Sun that Amanda “has been through hell” and “lost work” as a result of going public with her claims and “is “considering taking further” action against the BBC for damages and loss of earnings. The source said that Amanda “suffered enormously” and was diagnosed with PTSD, adding that she feels the BBC “breached its duty of care guidelines by not protecting her sooner”.

The source said it’s hard to “put a figure on how much she could expect” if things went her way, but it was speculated that it could be up to £300,000. The source described the prospect as the the BBC’s “worst nightmare” after a “costly investigation” and potential reputational damange for Strictly.

A representative for Giovanni said: “We are pleased this six-month review has not found any evidence of threatening or abusive behaviour. Giovanni is relieved that the overwhelming majority of allegations put to the BBC have not been upheld and looks forward to continuing his work on Dancing With The Stars in Italy this season.”

Giovanni also shared a statement on his Instagram page saying he was pleased the situation and probe was over. The upload was liked by his former Strictly co-star, Lauren Oakley.

The broadcaster, 77, is renowned for her role as a panellist on ITV’s flagship daytime programme. During Wednesday’s episode Janet was back on our TV screens alongside co-star Coleen Nolan, Christine Lampard and Katie Piper. Just minutes into the show, Christine announced that it was her colleagues “last day for a little while” as she prepares to undergo a hip replacement on Friday.

Janet said that she was very apprehensive about the surgery as she admitted that she can’t think about anything else and is ‘shaking and shivering’. The Loose Women favourite opened up: “On Friday, I am heading off to have a hip replacement operation at last and I can’t think about anything else.”

She continued: “As I’m sitting here, I’m shaking and shivering and I keep dreaming about it. I keep thinking ‘what if they can’t get it back together’. I am going on Friday, I’ll have the operation Friday afternoon, stay in hospital for a few days then I’ll really work on it at rehab so I can come back as soon as possible.”

The outspoken TV star then fought back tears as she admitted: “I am vulnerable and you know what it’s my own fault because they told me in March to have it done but I delayed it but then at the weekend I have some vegetables delivered and even though I shouldn’t I was on all fours planting them.”

“I woke up on Sunday morning and I couldn’t move and now I’ve really messed up the other side of my back and I had to lie-down for two days. I realised that I let myself get too weak and I’ve never been like this in my life and it’s just so irritating.”

As Janet prepares to take a lengthy break from Loose Women to have her surgery and recover, this isn’t the first time she has dealt with health struggles.

Back in 2020, Janet was diagnosed with cancer. She was diagnosed following self-referral, having returned home from a holiday in Australia and she initially thought she had a mosquito bite on her nose. At the time, the journalist said: “I was glad that I had done it because I could not put up with the waiting list, and the idea that I might have to wait months.”

At the time, she added: “At the moment, everybody wants results, and you can’t really blame them. They’ve been through Covid. And when I was diagnosed, oh, this thing on my face isn’t just any old spot. It’s a basal cell carcinoma. I mean, I wanted it got rid of.”

Following her surgery in 2020, Janet made a full recovery, and at the time she urged Loose Women viewers to keep an eye on any changes and blemishes on their skin. “I want to say to everybody watching, do look at all the little blemishes on your skin and especially moles if they change size or shape or anything,” she said. “I always did, I was always really careful, I always put factor 50 on my face. It can happen to so many people.”

After recovering from cancer, Janet opened up about another health scare in October 2023 when she told Loose Women viewers to check if they’re eligible for the shingles vaccine after suffering from the debilitating illness.

ITV)The Loose Women presenter revealed she was sent home from the ITV show after an outbreak of the virus in 2012, but Janet explained she first suffered with the illness while in her 40s and the presenter admitted she didn’t realise she had the virus at first. The journalist recalled noticing a rash on her body, which she believed was an eczema flare-up.

Janet was subsequently diagnosed with shingles and recalled two other women at her place of work also coming down with the virus at the same time, adding: “I was very stressed at the time and that tells you what you need to know about the workplace.” Stress can be a factor which can trigger the virus and you cannot give shingles to other people, although other people can catch chickenpox from you if they haven’t had it before.

Issuing a heartfelt plea to viewers, Janet said: “I would say to people at home if you’re eligible in either of those categories, you’re over 65 after September 1st or you’re aged between 70 and 79, which I am, for goodness sake go and get the shingles vaccine because you certainly do not want to run the risk of getting it.”And there’s a single website [getshinglesready.co.uk] so go on the shingles website and see if you are eligible because one of the debilitating side effects is the nerve pain. The scabs will go, you won’t be like a tree trunk that snaps in half, but the scabs could be down your face, it would be a ghastly experience and could affect your eyes.”

Coleen Nolan’s son Jake Roche threatened to report her to the police after ‘clip round the ear’

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan is a proud mum-of-three but has recalled a fraught exchange with her son, Jake Roche, where he threaten to have her arrested – so she gaslit him

Coleen Nolan has revealed her pop star son once threatened to report her to the police when she hit him.

The 59-year-old reality star is the mother of two sons – including singer Jake Roche, 32 – and one daughter. But raising three kids could be stressful at times, and the former singer revealed she once hit her son when he started to swear at her.

Knowing his rights, Jake then threatened his mother with legal action, saying he would call the cops on her. Revealing all of the drama on Wednesday’s riveting instalment of ITV’s Loose Women, Coleen told her fellow stars that she turned the situation around on her son.

She told the rest of the ITV show’s panel: “I remember once saying to Jake – it’s always Jake, bless him – when he was about 12 or 13, he went to swear at me, and as he ran past, I clipped him, not hard. I was just ‘no’, you know? It was so shocking.”

She continued: “He went, ‘I could get you done for that’. And in my head, I thought, ‘yeah, he actually could, yeah’.” But Coleen went on to reveal she outsmarted her son, explaining: “He went, ‘I’m gonna phone them’, and I went, ‘please do, because they’ll come and take you away! They won’t take me Jake they’ll take you and I’m for that right now!’”

coleen_nolan/Instagram)Coleen’s anecdote came after the Loose Women ladies waded into a debate sparked by former Hollyoaks star Gemma Atkinson. She sparked alarm when she admitted pinched her young son on social media, igniting a backlash against her. She mused to fans in an Instagram Stories post: “Really noticing the differences in how Mia was to Thiago. It’s fun to watch. Toys are just banged or slid across the floor and the tantrums are new as Mia didn’t have them. He pretend cries and throws himself on the floor. I stand and watch until he realises it’s getting him nowhere and they are slowly getting shorter. He pinches when he gets frustrated. I did it back to him on Wednesday as he did it hard to Mia. He’s not done it since.”Following the backlash, Gemma doubled down on her approach to parenting, recounting to fans via Instagram Stories the moment her agent contacted her over the furore. She recalled: “I said, ‘Well, I just said how the differences between boys and girls and Tiago’s going through that phase at the minute where he’s nipping and biting’.

“And I said, ‘He really nipped me the other day, so I went like that.’ [She mimics lightly touching her shoulder] ‘And I said, oi! We don’t nip.’ I didn’t [mimics viciously grabbing her shoulder]. I mean, as if I would.” She then joked that she was about to go to bed, adding sarcastically: “I actually better go and get Tiago out the car. I left him in the car for about three hours. The window’s down though, so he’ll be alright, won’t he? He’s fine on the drive, I’m sure.”

On Tuesday (October 1), Pete and Jowita caught up with their fans on social media by hosting a Q&A on Pete’s Instagram Stories. One of the first questions asked was: “How are your trotters holding up?” to which Pete replied: “Interesting question and this week, badly. Why’s that?” he asked Jowita who sheepishly replied: “Because you’re barefoot…”

He continued: “Because I’m dancing barefoot. No shoes.” Jowita then interjected to say: “But I clean the floor every morning I come here for you,” to which Pete said; “She cleans the floor every morning, hopefully, they’ll do the same in the studio but yeah, any of you foot fans out there you’re in for a treat this week.”

In addition to this, Pete was also asked what his biggest challenge will be this week. The pair admitted it would be “smiling more” before they were asked how things are going so far in training.

“We’ve just finished eight hours of dancing and I’m shattered, my feet hurt, I’m very sweaty…” Pete said as Jowita interjected: “But it’s amazing, right? I just stepped on your foot like three seconds ago, unfortunately, and because Pete’s barefoot it’s quite painful. I’m so sorry.”
