Prince William’s Shocking Decision About Kate Middleton, Prince George, and King Charles Revealed Amid Royal Threats
According to insider sources, Prince William has recently executed a strategic maneuver to address the pressing issues and potential threats facing the royal family. During a recent speech, Prince William highlighted the urgent need to tackle these evolving challenges while also championing the streamlined monarchy vision his father, King Charles, had envisioned. He emphasized the importance of a more effective royal operation, reflecting the public’s desire for a contemporary and accountable royal institution.

A close friend of Prince William revealed that he is actively seeking to bring new members into the royal family to build a strong and functional team. This move aims to navigate the current period of change and uncertainty that the monarchy is experiencing. Prince William is particularly concerned about his father’s health and Prince George’s future role as the second in line to the throne.

Reports and public records have underscored the need for a resilient and adaptable royal family amidst internal and external pressures. A trusted member of the Wales family has disclosed that Prince William is acutely aware of the potential risks posed by Prince Harry’s public critiques and differing opinions, which have caused ripples within the royal circle. Moreover, Queen Consort Camilla’s contrasting views on royal reorganizations have further complicated matters.

The public appearances of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, where they discuss the influence of the royal family on their lives, have intensified internal difficulties. These interviews, coupled with concerns over Prince Harry’s inheritance from the Queen Mother and the financial support he receives from King Charles, have raised questions about the monarchy’s credibility and financial health.

Prince William is especially concerned about the financial implications of Prince Harry’s behavior. Recent reports indicate that Prince Harry’s substantial financial cushion from the Queen Mother and ongoing support from King Charles have sparked concerns within the royal family. Prince William is wary of how these financial ties could impact the monarchy’s stability and public image.

Princess Catherine has shown remarkable resilience in the face of these challenges. Following her chemotherapy treatment, she continues to support Prince William in forming a new royal team, focusing on ensuring Prince George receives the right education and support for his future role as heir to the throne.

King Charles has requested that Prince William refrain from using helicopters for royal transportation, marking a significant change as Prince William steps into his role as first in line to the throne. Insiders confirm that Prince William has agreed to this request, demonstrating his commitment to his royal duties.

Restructuring the royal business involves overcoming numerous challenges. Potential new members, including Princess Beatrice, Lady Louise, and Zara Tindall, are considered, though their existing careers limit their availability for full-time royal duties. Despite this, they have indicated their partial support for the Prince and Princess of Wales during this period.

Young royals like Prince William’s children, Lady Louise, and Mike Tindall’s family are being prepared for future roles. Prince William is focused on ensuring Prince George receives a well-rounded education, including courses in leadership, public speaking, and diplomacy, to prepare him for his future responsibilities.

Additionally, Prince William is working to establish a strong network of young royals who can collaborate effectively with Prince George. This network includes individuals such as Lady Louise Windsor, her brother James, and the Tindall children. The goal is to create a cohesive team to uphold the monarchy’s principles and responsibilities.

Efforts to strengthen relationships among the younger royals involve organizing family gatherings, joint public appearances, and collaborative projects to foster teamwork and mutual support. Prince William aims to create a united front that can effectively address future challenges and opportunities.

Public opinion on these developments is mixed. While some see Prince William’s actions as a necessary step toward modernizing the monarchy, others remain skeptical about the royal family’s ability to adapt to contemporary issues. Experts suggest that the success of these initiatives will depend on the royal family’s ability to navigate internal disagreements and external pressures.

Prince William’s strategic actions demonstrate his commitment to preserving the relevance and stability of the monarchy. By resolving internal issues, preparing the next generation, and establishing a more efficient royal operation, he aims to ensure a sustainable future for the British royal family.

Kate Middleton’s Worst Nightmare: William’s Revelations Leave Fans Concerned

ate Middleton’s Worst Nightmare: William’s Revelations Leave Fans Concerned
When Catherine Middleton married William Arthur Philip Louis, she embraced a life of royal service with dedication and pride. Since then, she has quickly become one of the hardest-working members of the monarchy, taking only brief pauses for the births of her three children. This year, however, has brought a significant shift in pace for the Princess of Wales, following her recent cancer diagnosis.

A new biography released this month provides an inside look at one of the lesser-known, but devastating moments in Catherine’s life and career. While many are familiar with her public persona and royal duties, this book delves into a traumatic event that deeply affected both Catherine and Prince William.

In 2012, the couple had decided to take a private holiday in Provence. Unbeknownst to them and their extensive security detail, a local photographer named Valerie Sa, who regularly worked for a local newspaper, was lurking about a kilometer away. The tranquility of their vacation was shattered when photographs of a nearly nude Catherine were set to be published in the French tabloid magazine *Closer*.

Despite Catherine’s composed public demeanor, the private turmoil was intense. The royal lawyers in the UK worked relentlessly to prevent further publication of the photos, but the couple found themselves in a precarious situation. Any action they took risked drawing more attention to the scandal.

Prince William immediately contacted his father, Prince Charles, and the late Queen Elizabeth II, informing them of the impending legal battle. The couple took decisive action, launching an unprecedented legal case in a French court, even though they were aware that this might divert attention from their otherwise successful royal engagements.

The situation was particularly painful for William, as the photos had been taken just days before the 15th anniversary of his mother, Princess Diana’s, death. Although the French court banned further publication of the images, the ruling had limited impact, and the photos continued to appear across various European publications.

It took six long years before the final appeal was concluded, with Catherine ultimately awarded $193,000 in damages. This year has been primarily focused on her recovery, as Catherine continues chemotherapy. Insiders reveal that she is committed to getting stronger for her sake and that of her children. She plans to take a step back from her royal duties to focus on her health, making this summer a period of restoration for the Wales family.

As the new school year approaches, Catherine, who has spent much of the summer at Balmoral Castle and Amner Hall with William and their children, is feeling a mix of emotions. While she feels anxious about returning to her royal responsibilities, she is also excited to reengage with her work as she regains her strength. According to an insider close to the princess, the back-to-school season is both a poignant reminder of how quickly her children are growing up and an opportunity for Catherine to refocus on her royal duties.

Among the array of developments in the royal landscape, a recent revelation has left Meghan Markle taken aback.

Among the array of developments in the royal landscape, a recent revelation has left Meghan Markle taken aback. The King’s decision to bestow a coveted HRH title upon Lady Louise, coupled with a staggering £1.25 million diadem grant to mark her 20th birthday, has sparked intrigue and conversation.

In a remarkable twist, Lady Louise Windsor, the granddaughter of the Queen, finds herself at the center of royal discussions. With the shifting dynamics within the royal family – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s withdrawal from official duties, and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice embarking on their own marital journeys – an emerging vacancy for fresh and proactive royal figures seems apparent.

As Lady Louise Windsor approaches her 20th birthday this November, the anticipation surrounding her entrance into the realm of tiaras and royal traditions mounts. Unlike her elder cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, who were adorned with tiaras only upon their wedding days, Lady Louise is poised to potentially challenge this customary timeline.

While there exists no strict guideline dictating the precise moment for a royal lady to don a tiara, a longstanding unspoken rule generally refrains younger royals from wearing them before the age of 18. This custom might soon see an exception as Lady Louise, known for her poise and sense of duty, steps onto the scene.

The decision to grant Lady Louise a tiara coincides with her mother Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh’s, regal journey. Sophie, having previously adorned the Amphibian Tiara, showcases how certain headpieces are bestowed upon royals, often carrying meaningful connections and tributes.

The Amphibian Tiara, utilizing the innovative amphibian technique, carries an estimated value of £1.25 million. Its significance lies not only in its artistic craftsmanship but also in its connection to the late Prince Philip, Sophie’s father-in-law. This tiara holds special resonance within the Duchess’s collection, representing both tradition and adaptation.

As Lady Louise edges closer to the landmark age of 20, royal experts speculate about her potential trajectory. Phil Dampier, a renowned royal commentator, heralds Lady Louise as the royal family’s “secret weapon.” With her 20th birthday heralding eligibility for an HRH title, Dampier envisions Lady Louise stepping into a role of increased responsibility. He hints at her becoming a pillar of support and service, shouldering the royal workload that her predecessors have fulfilled.

Amidst the ongoing transformation within the royal family, the emergence of Lady Louise Windsor as a potential influential figure brings fresh energy and intrigue to the monarchy. As the tides of tradition and modernity converge, Lady Louise’s journey promises to be a captivating one.

Exposed! Omg! Meghan Immediately Cancels Uk Trip After King Charles Slams New Proof- Archie & Lili Are Fake!

The Shocking Truth Behind Harry and Meghan’s Latest Scandal

In a whirlwind of revelations, the spotlight has once again turned to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, raising eyebrows and stirring controversy.

The couple, often at the center of media scrutiny, now faces accusations that could shake the very foundation of their public image.

Recent claims suggest that Meghan’s much-publicized children, Archie and Lilibet, may be nothing more than figments of her imagination, crafted to manipulate public perception and royal favor.

The drama unfolded dramatically as Meghan reportedly canceled a planned trip to the UK amid growing backlash.

This decision came on the heels of explosive assertions that questioned the very existence of her children.

For years, Meghan has portrayed herself as a devoted mother, using her supposed children to garner sympathy and leverage titles from the royal family.

However, the latest revelations have cast a long shadow over those narratives.

It appears that the facade around Archie and Lilibet has begun to crumble.

Investigations into their public appearances have revealed a troubling pattern of deception.

Many photographs purportedly featuring the children have been flagged as heavily edited, leading critics to question their authenticity.

Some even allege that the few times the kids were seen in public, they were actually child actors hired to play the roles of the Sussex children.

This shocking turn of events has left many wondering just how far Meghan is willing to go to maintain her carefully curated image.

Critics argue that her actions reflect a deep-seated need for validation and attention, pushing her to fabricate stories that cast her in a heroic light.

The narrative of a mother protecting her biracial children from an allegedly racist royal family has been a cornerstone of her public persona, but it now seems to be unraveling.

As the truth began to surface, the pressure on Meghan intensified.

It’s hard to imagine the kind of emotional turmoil she must have experienced upon realizing that her elaborate charade was being exposed.

The thought of facing the British media, especially without her children by her side, likely felt unbearable.

Instead of confronting the fallout, Meghan chose to retreat to her home in California, avoiding the scrutiny that would surely follow her arrival in the UK.

Prince Harry’s role in this saga cannot be overlooked.

Many see him as a pawn in Meghan’s game, willingly participating in the deception while distancing himself from his royal responsibilities.

Critics have not held back in expressing their disapproval, suggesting that Harry has allowed himself to be manipulated into supporting Meghan’s questionable tactics.

His loyalty to her has raised questions about his commitment to his family and heritage.

The implications of these allegations are profound.

If proven true, they could tarnish the couple’s reputation irreparably.

Public trust, once lost, is incredibly difficult to regain.

The couple’s attempts to portray themselves as champions of social justice and equality may now be overshadowed by the notion that their entire narrative was built on a lie.

As the story continues to develop, public interest remains high.

Many are eager to know how Meghan and Harry will respond to these accusations.

Will they attempt to clear the air, or will they continue to evade the pressing questions surrounding their family?

The answers remain elusive, but one thing is certain: the world is watching closely.

In the wake of these revelations, the conversation around Meghan and Harry is shifting.

What once may have been sympathy for their struggles is now mingled with skepticism.

As more people begin to question the integrity of their story, the couple might find it increasingly difficult to navigate their public personas.

For now, the couple seems to be in damage control mode, likely strategizing their next move.

Whether they can recover from this scandal remains to be seen.

The stakes are high, and the pressure is mounting, leaving many to wonder what will happen next in this ongoing saga.

As we await further developments, one thing is clear: this story is far from over.

The intrigue surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continues to captivate audiences, and with every new revelation, the narrative only grows more complex.

Stay tuned as we delve deeper into the secrets and scandals that define their lives.

Sho:cking revelations! The Canadian Mystery Made Meghan And Marcus Fool Harry! Wrong And Illegal Pr Strategy

In a whirlwind of intrigue and speculation, a new narrative has emerged surrounding Meghan Markle, her friend Marcus Anderson, and Prince Harry.

This story hints at betrayal, manipulation, and questionable public relations tactics that raise eyebrows.

The unfolding drama suggests that Meghan and Marcus may have been orchestrating a plan that could leave Harry in the lurch.

A Canadian Mystery: Meghan and Marcus’s Alleged Betrayal of Harry

In a whirlwind of intrigue and speculation, a new narrative has emerged surrounding Meghan Markle, her friend Marcus Anderson, and Prince Harry.

This story hints at betrayal, manipulation, and questionable public relations tactics that raise eyebrows.

The unfolding drama suggests that Meghan and Marcus may have been orchestrating a plan that could leave Harry in the lurch.

Rumors have long circulated about the dynamics within their household, particularly regarding Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.

Some speculate that Doria’s presence might have been a buffer against Harry’s alleged cruelty.

Yet, the narrative takes a darker turn, portraying Meghan as a manipulative figure who allegedly concocted racial accusations during the infamous Oprah interview.

Critics argue that these claims were not part of Meghan’s original scheme but rather a byproduct of a larger PR strategy gone awry.

The narrative continues to unfold with allegations that Meghan’s ventures have been fraught with failure and illegality.

From business dealings to contractual obligations, it seems that every project Meghan touched has turned sour.

Notably, there’s a mention of a Netflix deal that never materialized as promised, casting doubt on the couple’s financial acumen.

In just a year and a half, their combined earnings from various projects reportedly reached around $9.5 million, yet many question the legitimacy of these figures.

Meghan’s attempts to position herself as the brains behind their operations have raised eyebrows.

It’s suggested that her decision to accept a $3 million Disney deal was mishandled, leading to more questions than answers.

As the dust settles on the allegations of racism, one can’t help but wonder about the authenticity of Harry’s character.

Critics label him a “psychopath,” challenging readers to find any genuine moments of empathy captured in photographs or videos.

Interestingly, the narrative also highlights the peculiar relationship between Harry and his brother, William.

It appears that Harry’s rivalry with William may have played a role in his tumultuous marriage.

Meanwhile, Meghan’s apparent preference for William complicates the already tangled web of relationships.

The resurfacing of a Canadian video adds another layer, as Meghan claims ignorance about royal life while simultaneously navigating its complexities.

The accusations against Meghan and Harry are not merely personal; they extend to their relationships with influential figures like Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry.

It’s suggested that they were manipulated by these powerful personalities, raising questions about their judgment and awareness.

Critics argue that Meghan’s rise in status comes at the expense of those around her, further entrenching her reputation as a self-serving individual.

As the story unfolds, one wonders about the implications of Meghan’s close ties with Marcus.

He is portrayed as a pivotal figure in her life, potentially influencing her decisions and strategies.

The nature of their friendship, coupled with Marcus’s own colorful personality, adds a layer of complexity to an already convoluted narrative.

His alleged bisexuality and humorous anecdotes only serve to deepen the intrigue surrounding Meghan’s inner circle.

Doria, Meghan’s mother, emerges as another significant player in this drama.

With a history of financial missteps, her relationship with Marcus raises further questions about the motivations driving Meghan’s choices.

Their shared living arrangements in a lavish villa underscore the potential for a tightly-knit, yet complicated, support system that could impact Meghan’s public persona.

Moreover, there’s speculation about Meghan’s physical appearance, suggesting that changes over the years may be indicative of deeper issues.

Critics point to possible surgical enhancements and question the motivations behind such transformations.

The narrative hints at an ongoing quest for acceptance and validation, which may explain the constant shifts in Meghan’s public image.

As the investigation into Meghan and Harry’s actions continues, the focus remains on their motivations and the consequences of their choices.

The complexity of their relationship, intertwined with broader themes of manipulation and betrayal, paints a vivid picture of two individuals navigating a treacherous landscape.

With each revelation, the public is left to ponder the true nature of their motivations.

The unfolding saga raises critical questions about loyalty, ambition, and the lengths individuals will go to achieve their goals.

As Meghan and Marcus’s alleged betrayal of Harry comes to light, it forces us to reconsider the narratives we’ve accepted about their lives.

The tension between personal aspirations and public perception remains palpable, leaving many wondering what the future holds for this enigmatic trio.

Prince Harry ‘won’t return to royal duties unless William apologises’ but would be willing to ‘help out’ the Firm if asked by his father, report claims

Prince Harry will not return to royal duties unless William apologises, but would be willing to ‘help out’ the Firm if asked by his father, a report has claimed.

Sources close to The Duke of Sussex have suggested he is happy with his decision to quit his royal role, the Mirror reported.

But they claim he would be open to a temporary role within the Royal Family if asked to help out by his father.

It comes after the Mail on Sunday revealed last week that the Duke had turned away from his ‘Hollywood publicists’ and had resorted to texting former confidantes ‘from his old life’ on how to mastermind a return from exile in the US.

However, sources stressed Harry and Meghan, who have spent the past four years living in California with their two children, are not seeking a permanent return.

The Mirror also previously reported that Prince William suggested there would be ‘zero chance’ that Harry would be welcomed back following the publication of his memoir, Spare.

In the book, Harry took aim at some members of the Royal Family. He accused William of assaulting him in a row over Meghan and claimed his brother and their father confronted him after Prince Philip’s funeral ‘looking for a fight’.

Harry also alleged that William and Kate urged him to wear his infamous Nazi fancy dress outfit.

He cast his brother as his ‘arch-nemesis’; Queen Consort Camilla as a ‘wicked stepmother’ and Charles as an emotionally-stunted and ineffectual ‘old man’.

William and Harry have not spoken for months and currently have no contact.

It was revealed last week that both William and Harry attended the funeral of their uncle Robert Fellowes, but witnesses said they didn’t see the brothers speak.

They reportedly sat apart at the back of St Mary’s Church in Snettisham where the service for Eton-educated Lord Fellowes took place.

At least one of the advisers approached by Harry is a trusted figure ‘from the old school’ known for loyalty and discretion.

One friend has already allegedly devised a strategy for how Harry might begin moving in UK circles again – even carrying out ‘very low-key royal duties’.

A source said the friend ‘believes if Harry comes back to the UK with zero fuss, and does zero publicity and attends very mundane events, he could prove himself and win over the British public again.

‘He would have to accept, though, that he might be reduced to ribbon cutting for a long period. But it would give him purpose to work again.’

But the source said it would only happen ‘if certain members of the family could find it in themselves to allow it’.

Happy birthday, India Hicks! King Charles’s goddaughter turns 57 today – 45 years after she chose to stay ashore on the day her grandfather Lord Mountbatten was assassinated on his boat

Few figures are more closely connected to the Royal Family than India Hicks.

India, who celebrates her 57th birthday today, is the granddaughter of Lord Louis Mountbatten, Prince Philip‘s uncle and adviser who was assassinated by the IRA in 1979.

She has established herself as a model, interior designer and businesswoman and lives in the Bahamas with her husband, David Flint Wood.

India was one of the five bridesmaids at the 1981 wedding of Diana and Charles, who is both her godfather and second cousin.

She is the daughter of interior designer David Hicks and Lady Pamela Hicks, a former lady-in-waiting to the late Queen and daughter of Lord Mountbatten.

India married her long-term partner, David Flint Wood, in 2021 at the age of 54.

The couple relocated to the Caribbean together in 1996, but they chose to come back to the UK for their wedding.

Following 26 years together, they exchanged vows at St. Bartholomew’s Church in India’s home village of Brightwell Baldwin, Oxfordshire, as their five children looked on.

India was previously christened at the church and her father is buried there.

‘Having lived a fairly unconventional life together on a small island in the Bahamas for more than two decades, we decided that our wedding should, in contrast, be very conventional,’ India wrote in an article for Vogue.

India stunned in an exquisite ivory tulle and lace dress by Emilia Wickstead, featuring a turtleneck and dramatic A-line skirt that swept the ankle.

She accessorised with a pair of white satin court shoes by Christian Louboutin and carried a beautiful bouquet by Pulbrook & Gould London.

The company poignantly made her mother’s wedding bouquet in 1960.

Her ring was a gold and diamond band from Charlotte Chesnais, which the couple chose together in Paris a few months earlier.

They had the words ‘amor vincit omnia’, translating to ‘love conquers all’, engraved on the inside.

India’s bridesmaids were led by her daughter Domino, while her son Felix walked her down the aisle.

She shared that the wedding had ‘all the English trimmings’ complete with ‘a choir’ and ‘a series of uplifting hymns’.

If not for a fortunate twist of fate, India might have died at the age of 11.

On August 27, 1979, she chose to stay at her grandfather’s home in County Sligo, Ireland, and watch a Laurel and Hardy film rather than join him and other family members for a fishing trip.

Shortly after the party set off, a concealed IRA bomb detonated, killing Lord Mountbatten, his grandson Nicholas, teenage crew member Paul Maxwell and Doreen Knatchbull, the mother of Mountbatten’s son-in-law.

Speaking in 2019, India said of the disaster: ‘The damage that was done was so much deeper than any of us could ever have imagined. And adult lives are still being horrifically disrupted.’

Two years after the tragedy, India was asked by Charles if she would be a bridesmaid and his and Diana’s wedding.

‘I had to practise,’ she later recalled.

‘It was during these rehearsals I got to know Diana, whom I first met at a dress fitting.

‘She always seemed more like a head girl than a princess-in-waiting, with never a shy moment in private.’

India has preserved her bridesmaid’s wreath from the ceremony at St Paul’s, keeping it in its original box.

In 2022, she shared a photo of her dress – still in pristine condition – on social media.

It was displayed alongside another royal bridesmaid dress, worn by her mother, Lady Pamela, now 95, who had served as a bridesmaid to the late Queen Elizabeth.

At the age of 18, India moved to Boston, Massachusetts, to study photography.

After graduating in 1990, her father introduced her to the Emilio Pucci brand in Florence, Italy, where she began her modelling career by showcasing swimsuits.

She later modelled for prominent brands, such as Ralph Lauren, Tod’s and J. Crew.

Despite her royal connections, India has worked hard to forge her own path.

She became a designer and businesswoman, launching a luxury lifestyle brand, before closing the business in 2022 to spend more time with her children: Wesley, 27, Felix, 25, Amory, 23, Conrad, 19, and Domino, 14.

On the eve of King Charles’s coronation, India said her godfather was ‘considerate’ and ‘patient’, but she did not receive an invitation to the crowning ceremony.

She posted photos on her Instagram account showing herself outside Buckingham Palace and she also appeared on Australian TV to discuss all things royal ahead of the King’s big moment.

She serves her godfather’s charity, the Prince’s Trust, as a patron for Women Supporting Women.

After attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, India revealed that she would be undertaking a bicycle ride from Buckingham Palace to Windsor Castle in a bid to raise money for the charity.

India’s work for the Prince’s Trust exists alongside her support for Global Empowerment Mission, a nonprofit that assists in the wake of international disasters.

In May 2022, she visited Ukraine alongside her son in support of the organisation, transporting clothing and spending time in a therapy shelter helping Ukrainian children.

I went to Princess Diana’s funeral, and then cried in the street: Royal expert CHARLES RAE recalls that tragic day 27 years ago, when he sat opposite the Queen in Westminster Abbey

It was an event I never expected to attend, but there I was on September 6, 1997, walking in bright sunshine to Westminster Abbey.

As hundreds of thousands of people massed in the area surrounding the historic church, I was on my way inside for the funeral of Princess Diana.

Just a week earlier, she had been tragically killed in a car crash in Paris at the age of just 36.

The death of the ‘People’s Princess’ – which I had covered as a royal correspondent – prompted an outpouring of grief among millions.

Literally hundreds of thousands of bouquets of flower had been laid outside her home at Kensington Palace, as well as Buckingham Palace and Balmoral in Scotland.

And the tears from around the world could have filled an ocean.

Inside the Abbey were 2,000 invited mourners. Outside, the official estimate was three million lining the route.

And around the world 2.5billion people watched the ceremony – which lasted for one hour and ten minutes – on television.

It was broadcast in 44 languages, and it was one of the biggest televised events in history.

The world literally stopped to pay its respects.

Diana was given a ceremonial funeral even though she was no longer a member of the Royal Family.

Soldiers from the Queen’s Life Guard marched each side of the gun carriage from the King’s Troop.

Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer walked behind Diana’s coffin in the funeral procession, along with Prince William and Prince Harry.

At the time, William and Harry were just 15 and 12 years old, respectively.

The decision to have her sons walk behind the coffin was and still is a topic of contention.

William confirmed in the 2017: ‘It wasn’t an easy decision, and it was a collective family decision to do that. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

‘But we were overwhelmed by how many people turned out, it was just incredible. There was that balance between duty and family and that’s what we had to do.’

Harry recalled: ‘I think it was a group decision. But before I knew it, I found myself with a suit on with a black tie and a white shirt, I think, and I was part of it.

‘Genuinely, I don’t have an opinion on whether that was right or wrong. I am glad I was part of it. Looking back on it now, I am very glad I was part of it.’

Prince Philip had allegedly told prime minister Tony Blair’s officials to ‘f*** off’ when the suggestion was initially made.

Among the non-royal attendees were Hillary Clinton, Steven Spielberg, Mariah Carey, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, George Michael and Luciano Pavarotti.

Elton John sang a rendition of ‘Candle in the Wind’ during the service, with new lyrics written as a tribute to Diana.

The single became the best-selling since the UK and US singles charts began in the 1950s, with total sales exceeding 33million units.

In the Abbey, I sat just behind Mohamed Al-Fayed, who had lost his son Dodi – Diana’s lover – in the same car crash.

Opposite us were the Royal Family, led by the Queen.

One of the most poignant moments came when Earl Spencer delivered his heartfelt eulogy to his sister, which was beamed to the waiting crowds outside.

As he started, a shaft of light came through a window in the ceiling and lit up her coffin.

The Earl’s speech famously pulled no punches, strongly criticising the press and indirectly criticising the Royal Family.

As he finished you could hear a pin drop, then within seconds a thunderous applause which started outside the Abbey got louder and louder and protocol was ignored as the congregation joined in.

Then Diana’s coffin was driven to her family home, Althorp in Northamptonshire, in a Daimler hearse.

My good friend Paul Chopping, a police officer of many years, was given the honour of leading his motor bike unit – the Special Escort Group – on the route as he was about to retire.

Mourners cast flowers at the funeral procession for the entire 76-mile length of its journey and vehicles even stopped on the opposite carriageway of the M1 motorway as the cars passed.

In a private ceremony, Diana was buried on an island in the middle of a lake called the Oval, which is part of the Pleasure Garden at Althorp.

The coffin bore a weight of a quarter of a tonne (250 kg) because it was lined with lead, as is tradition with British royalty.

Diana was dressed in a black Catherine Walker dress and black tights and was holding a rosary in her hands.

The rosary had been a gift from Mother Theresa of Calcutta, a confidante of Diana, who had died the day before her funeral.

As I walked the streets back to the office, the enormity of what had happened finally hit me.

Diana, who had been a big part of my life for around 15 years, had gone.

I found a quietish alley, and the tears started to well in my eyes. I know big, tough, Scottish blokes aren’t supposed to show their feelings, but hey, who would have guessed, eh!

I have never claimed to be one of Diana’s closest confidantes.

I like to think that I did my job professionally. Yes, I liked her very much.

She was a fantastic ambassador for Britain and a fantastic woman and mother. And the causes she devoted herself to never had a better ambassador.

Sure, she had her faults, but then, who doesn’t? It’s just her faults were laid bare in public because she was a high-profile celebrity.

    I miss her every day!
