The work was directed by Fisher Stevens, revolving around the main character David Beckham .
The film tells about the love for football, memories during the competition, and also reveals the personal life of the former famous player.
The filmmaker compiled many moments, from the time Beckham played for Manchester United (MU) until the player became known as a sports businessman in the US.
In the MU shirt, Beckham scored many times, bringing achievements to the team. Combined with his handsome appearance, the player received his first advertising contract, being paid 50,000 pounds.
Growing up in a working-class family, when he first became famous, Beckham often spent “a lot” on personal hobbies. Typically, he used up all his advertising money to buy a BMW M3 car.
Former player Gary Neville said his teammates received the money and spent it all the next day. “Beckham will wait until his next paycheck to buy a Gucci jacket,” Neville said.
The film also mentions one of the most controversial moments of Beckham’s career: The red card in the match against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup. During the knockout round, the former midfielder stepped on the foot of player Diego Simeone and was disqualified by the referee. right to compete.
Many people boycotted and criticized the players as the reason why the team did not advance deep into the next round. After the incident, Beckham suffered from depression. When he went out on the street, he encountered glares, some people even cursed and spit at him. Many people say Victoria Beckham is the cause of Beckham’s decline in performance. “My husband was completely devastated, like he was falling into pieces. Watching the depression torment him made me extremely painful,” Victoria said.
In the last episode, Victoria first mentioned the rumor that her husband had an affair with Rebbeca Loos in 2003. When the information seriously affected the couple’s life, Victoria moved to Spain – where the player plays for Real Madrid. – while trying to resolve the marital crisis.
The artist said football fans in Spain consider her a “villain” for delaying Beckham’s move to play for Real Madrid. At that time, Victoria said she wanted to find a suitable school for her sons Brooklyn and Romeo, then move to this country with her husband.
Beckham is a character closely followed by the media and at the same time receiving attention from the public. The filmmaker takes advantage of this highlight to increase the objectivity of the film. Director Fisher Stevens interviewed many people, from parents, coach Sir Alex Ferguson, former teammates, opponents, or paparazzi who made a lot of money by capturing moments of the Becks and his wife. They have followed many ups and downs of the player, knowing a lot of information that fans are curious about.
For example, in the scene where Beckham and his opponent Diego Simeone talk about the confrontation at the 1998 World Cup, the filmmaker recreates this confrontation by filming a close-up of the two players reviewing the tape of that match. After watching the documentary, the two had many emotions: Beckham was pensive and Simeone was gloating. This segment helps create depth and brings reflection to the audience.
According to Independent , the work attempts to recreate the footballer’s desire to express himself. Beckham ignored criticism when he made mistakes on the field, silently trying after failures. Besides, Beckham’s relatives are always by his side and encourage him during his career development.
The Evening Standard page rated Beckham as attractive and charming when telling his own life story. Episodes tend to follow arcs, from triumph to tragedy or tragedy to triumph. In episode one, the starting point was when the young talent arrived in the Premier League, and ended with Beckham being disqualified from the 1998 World Cup, suffering a wave of outrage from public opinion.
The film received many positive reviews from critics. The Independent page praised the crew for choosing a smart and sophisticated perspective when describing the bond between the Becks and his wife in parallel with the progress of the player’s career. Daily Telegraph commented: “The work brings many surprises about an important period in English football history and about an unexpectedly complex man.”
David and Victoria Beckham have sold their longtime Beverly Hills mansion for a little more than $33 million, according to newly filed property records.
The couple, who’ve reportedly been shopping their secluded California mansion around for years, finally sealed the deal last month, records show.
It was sold in an off-market deal, as the home was never publicly listed.
The buyer is listed only as a Delaware limited liability company, though the new owner is likely a person with name recognition.
The law firm representing the buyer, Avenue of the Stars-based Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman and Machtinger, counts myriad clients from the entertainment and music industries on its roster.
The British power couple made a lot more than a pretty penny off the sale.
They sold the airy Mediterranean-style home for nearly $15 million more than they paid 11 years ago, according to property records.
The couple bought the home newly built for $18.2 million through a trust linked to their London-based accountant in 2007—the year Mr. Beckham signed on to play for Major League Soccer club L.A. Galaxy.
The house is tucked behind a row of other mansions facing San Ysidro Drive, which cut it off it from the main road. There’s a pool; a long, narrow driveway; and a ring of towering palm trees that offer additional privacy to the residents, aerial images of the home show.
Since the Beckhams never marketed the home publicly, very little is known about what the family of six has done to the estate in over a decade of ownership.
Assessment records indicate the home spans roughly 11,500 square feet with six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
Inside, the house boasts exceptionally tall ceilings and rows of French doors that open onto the grounds, fireplaces and hardwood floors, according to images of the home from 2007.
Mr. Beckham, 43, who retired in 2013, and Ms. Beckham, 44, a former Spice Girl who runs a successful, self-titled fashion label, also own properties in London and in a posh countryside region known as the Cotswolds in the southwest of England.
A publicist for the Beckhams did not immediately return a request for comment.

The Loose Women ladies gave ITV viewers some backstage gossip on Friday’s show, after Linda Robson appeared to refuse to clap Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as they won at the National Television Awards the night before
Loose Women returned to our screens on Friday [October 14], after missing out on an award at the National Television Awards the night before.
Former Strictly Come Dancing hopeful Kaye Adams headed up the panel on the ITV’s programme’s final show of the week, as she discussed all the backstage gossip from the star-studded showbiz event with her fellow panelists Judi Love, Linda Robson and Dame Kelly Holmes.
The ITV’s show latest broadcast came just hours on from panelist Linda seemingly refusing to clap Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield during their win at the National Television Awards, as This Morning beat Loose Women to take home the gong for Best Daytime TV Show for the fifth year in a row.
Holly and Phil appeared to receive a frosty reception from the audience at the event when they were named the award winners, with Loose Women gang seemingly amongst those not delighted with their win – with reports there were even jeers from the crowd amid the on-going fallout from Queue-gate, which saw Holly and Phil criticised for seemingly jumping the line to see the Queen lying in state.

Kicking off Friday’s edition of Loose Women, Kaye started things off saying: “It’s the morning after the night before, we did have a great time.”
“Congratulations to This Morning and thank you to everyone who voted for us,” the Scottish star continued as she and her co-stars – including Linda – clapped.
After Birds of a Feather actress Linda revealed they all “really had fun” and shared how delighted she was to get her makeup done and get glammed up, Kaye admitted she was watching Dame Kelly’s face as it was announced This Morning had beaten Loose Women once again at the National Television Awards.

“I’m not very good at hiding my emotions,” the retired athlete admitted, after Kaye explained the competitive star is used to winning awards and honours.
“Nothing against This Morning at all but we were really revved up,” Dame Kelly continued, before adding: “It was such a great time.”
The This Morning presenters Holly and Phil received a mixed reaction as NTA for Best Daytime Show for the fifth year in a row on Thursday night [October 13], but Holly apparently left the star-studded ceremony early after their win – reportedly sneaking out and heading home around 10pm.

While Holly got an early night, plenty of other celebrities partied hard – including her co-host Phil, who was all smiles as he left the event without his pal.
As Phil enjoyed the after-parties with no Holly by his side, he took to social media to share a touching message for his absent co-host – sharing a sweet snap of himself and Holly embracing as they collected their latest award.

“Thank YOU for every single vote ‘cos we love you most x.”
Shortly before Phil’s sweet message, Holly took to Instagram at around midnight to write: “Thank you… holy moly… we love you… @thismorning … you are the best team, you work so hard to make the show what it is… We want to thank each and every one of you for voting… you have made this night an absolute dream… thank you also @officialntas for having us… @joeldommett you are a class act.”

Things got political on Loose Women earlier today, as Janet Street-Porter sensationally slammed Prime Minister Liz Truss before Birds of a Feather actress Linda Robson once again sparked outrage as she defended Boris Johnson
The Prime Minister’s recent apology isn’t good enough for Janet Street-Porter.
On today’s edition of Loose Women, Janet took aim at Liz Truss following the under-fire Conservative Party leader finally saying sorry to furious Tory MPs on Monday, as Jeremy Hunt urged furious MPs to “give her a chance” and said he believed she would still be Prime Minister at Christmas.
Joining Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan and Linda Robson, Janet discussed the recent reports regarding the government and Truss – blasting the Prime Minister’s ‘feeble’ apology and calling for her to be ousted from her position by the end of the day and replaced by ‘someone boring’.
It all kicked off on today’s instalment of Loose Women, with Linda and Coleen clashing during a heated debate about Boris Johnson and Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke slamming the unknown mole responsible for ruining the BBC show for viewers by leaking the pre-recorded exit results.

“She said sorry but is sorry enough?” Janet asked when discussing Truss’ recent apology to Tory MP over U-turns and her leadership in general.
“Not for me I’m afraid, I think it was pretty feeble,” she continued, “She looked like a schoolgirl who had been called to the headmaster’s study and given an extra detention.”
Janet went on to declare: “She should go. She should go by the end of the day – It would make my day.”

“I want someone running the country that is boring,” she added, seemingly referring to the scandals attached to the Prime Minister, before stating: “Without an economic plan, we’re going down the dumper and frankly, I blame Liz Truss.”
As the conversation developed to look back on Truss’ predecessor Johnson, Linda sparked outrage online thanks to once again backing the former prime minister.
“I always get slaughtered online [when I support Johnson] but I do,” Linda admitted on the ITV show.
Linda’s comments didn’t go down too well(
Image: ITV)The Birds of a Feather star went on to explain how she would often bump into the politician near her home, before placing the blame firmly on Carrie Johnson for the rule-breaking that occurred in 10 Downing Street at a time when Covid-19 restrictions were in place across the country.
“Oh, be quiet,” Coleen told Linda as the actress gushed about Johnson on the latest edition of Loose Women.
Coleen and Linda’s heated debate was sparked following the Prime Minister reportedly finally sorry to Tory MPs – three days after her bizarre nine-minute press conference where she failed to apologise, according to No10.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came as Jeremy Hunt urged furious MPs to “give her a chance” and said he believed she would still be Prime Minister at Christmas.

David Beckham has surprisingly spoken out in support of Erik ten Hag, even though the Dutchman has taken charge of another hugely underwhelming season at Manchester United.
During Ten Hag’s first campaign at Old Trafford, Man Utd won the League Cup, reached the FA Cup final and finished third in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have once again reached the FA Cup final, but that is their only achievement this term.
Ten Hag’s side have been knocked out of the Champions League and League Cup early on, while some disappointing results have seen them fall to eighth in the Premier League table.
Man Utd are even below Chelsea, a club where there has seemingly been constant drama and controversy this season.
Man Utd’s players are starting to come to terms with the fact that Ten Hag is highly likely to be replaced in the summer, with Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel both under consideration.
Man Utd have also been urged to consider a blockbuster reunion with Jose Mourinho, though that move would be a big shock.
Amid all the managerial speculation, ex-Man Utd and England star Beckham has been quizzed on the source of his former club’s problems.
But rather than blaming Ten Hag, like a lot of Man Utd pundits have been doing, the 49-year-old icon thinks it is the players who are not showing enough motivation.
“I think that’s the whole point of being a Manchester United player and playing in these big games, you should be motivated.
“When you’re a professional footballer and you’re doing the job that you love and you’re at the club that you love, when you’re playing in any game whether it’s a regular season game or whether it’s an FA Cup final against your rivals, then that should be enough motivation.
“If it’s not, then you’re in the wrong team and you’re playing the wrong sport so I think at the end of the day, we [Beckham’s former Man Utd team] went into every game whether it was a youth cup game, a friendly game, off-season or the European Cup final, with the same mentality and the same drive.
“That’s what you’d hope at any team and any player for Manchester United, go into an FA Cup final against Manchester City with enough motivation that a manager shouldn’t have to say much.”
Beckham continued: “We all know that Erik’s a very qualified manager and a good manager and he has the right motives.
“But I think we were lucky in our day that we had Sir Alex Ferguson, we were lucky that we had Eric Harrison and Jim Ryan and Nobby Stiles and all of these great managers and motivators.”
It has been reported that the significant cost of sacking Ten Hag – over £10million – could save the 54-year-old his job. However, Old Trafford chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe must decide whether Ten Hag is taking Man Utd in the right direction, and whether that £10m sack payment could be worth it to save the long-term future of the club.
