Ruth Langsford has dealt with her split from husband Eamonn Holmes with “dignity and pride”, says her LooseWomen co-star Coleen Nolan.

Coleen told of her admiration for Ruth, 64, who returned to the ITV daytime show in July after taking time off amid the end of her 14-year marriage to Eamonn, also 64.

The former Nolan Sisters star, 59, said: “Ruth and I keep in touch all the time. She’s back at work now, which is great because I really missed her.

“I don’t want to say too much because it’s not my business to say Ruth’s life, but what I will say from a friend’s point of view is I’ve never met anyone that has handled something with so much dignity and pride.

“She’s just such a lady, more of a lady than I’ll ever be. She’s been abso- lutely amazing, she really has.” Coleen said Ruth was doing well and had stayed “strong” during the split, refusing to speak out about it.

Asked if she had given Ruth any advice, Coleen told Woman magazine: “I’ve given her advice but she doesn’t listen to me [laughs].

“I’m going, ‘How can you not say anything?’ But I don’t need to give her advice. We send each other lovely memes and I’ll send her messages about staying strong and I’ll always send her a text asking how is she today or how she is doing.

“I just love her and I’m in awe of how she’s handled everything. She’s so elegant and fabulous.”

Ruth was left devastated last month after learning Eamonn is being consoled through the split by a younger woman.

Relationship counsellor Katie Alexander, 42, has been on a number of dates with the GB News presenter in the past 12 months as well as being pictured at his home. The pair have more recently been on holiday together too.

It is thought Eamonn and Ruth would like a divorce finalised in the coming months but there is understood to be a long way to go. Speaking at the TRIC awards in June, Eamonn said: “I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all.”

When asked about whether he and Ruth will continue to have a relationship of any kind, Eamonn added: “It’s too early to say but I hope we can still be friends.”

Eamonn and Ruth met in 1997 when they were introduced by mutual friends and they then dated for over a decade before they wed in 2010.

Before the split they had not been photographed together for two years.

When Princess Kate shared a heartwarming new photo of her eldest son Prince George to mark his birthday, the image received a flurry of praise from fans everywhere

Princess Kate usually takes her own photographs of her family – including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – to help keep the paparazzi at a distance, an expert said.

Princess of Wales, 42, has over the years snapped images of her children to mark milestones, such as birthdays, and ffans have praised her work. She has a keen interest in photography anyway but royal commentators believe Kate deliberately often does her family’s imagery.

Camilla Tominey, the Telegraph’s Royal editor, has previously said: “The paparazzi – there’s no market anymore because the Duchess comes out with her own family photos and they’re far more valuable to the press than images taken at a long lense.

“That’s how The Cambridges (as they were then known) are going to strike the balance, they’re going to give in order to receive a degree of privacy back.

According to the Express, she continued: “Of course there still is, and always will be, a place for experienced lensmen and women to capture the big royal moments. However, it has always been these more candid camera shots that the public has craved.

“When it comes to seeing the ‘real’ royals behind their public personas, the Duchess is fast becoming the monarchy’s leading chronicler of modern royal life.”

Kate took an adorable snap of Prince George perched on a Land Rover back in 2021, which was seen as a touching tribute to his late great-grandfather Prince Philip who had a fondness for the vehicle.

Kate shared heartfelt snaps for Charlotte and Louis’s birthdays in April and May respectively that same year. One picture captured Louis looking lively as he sat on a red children’s bike poised for his first day at nursery school.

A photograph of young George stirred up a wave of adoration on social media, with numerous fans noting his growing resemblance to his father, Prince William.

A fan exclaimed: “Happy birthday Prince George, looks more and more like his dad…delighted the Duke and Duchess released this beautiful photo despite the nasty trolling after the Euro Final, remember there is much more love than hate in the world x.”

Another admirer effused: “I love how he is becoming his own self. He resembles his father more in this photo but has his mother’s eyes. He is such a blessing.”

Joining in, another contributor remarked: “Awww Looks handsome and like his father.” Light-heartedly, another quipped: “Will dat u? ” attaching two photos comparing a young Prince William’s cheerful grin to George’s.

Loose Women’s Brenda Edwards rushed to help Sex Education star ‘kicked to the ground by police’

Loose Women star Brenda Edwards raced to help Sex Education star Reece Richards after he was allegedly kicked and pepper-sprayed by police officers

Brenda Edwards rushed to West London to help Sex Education’s Reece Richards after he was allegedly kicked by officers in a heartbreaking incident.

Reece, who stars as Eugene in the hit Netflix series, claims he was the “victim of an unlawful arrest and police misconduct” after he returned home from appearing in Hairspray the Musical on the West End. The incident, which took place in Fulham, West London, near the actor’s home in the early hours of September 4.

The actor explained his mum, who watched the horrifying incident take place, phoned presenter Brenda for help. Brenda rushed to the scene and arrived 20 minutes later, at which point the police officer’s “attitude” allegedly “shifted”.

On Instagram, Reece explained: “I had just finished performing in Hairspray the Musical when a car crashed near me. Two men – one White and one Asian – jumped out; one started running in one direction, and the other ran toward me where I stood with my suitcase. Realising the police were chasing them, I shouted: “He ran down there, officer,” and pointed out the direction they fled. Despite hearing me, the officer shouted that I was under arrest and demanded I get on the ground. I was confused, unable to understand why I was suddenly being treated like a criminal. Calmly, I explained that I was a performer returning from a show, but one officer yelled, ‘Get to the floor or I’ll pepper spray you.’”

Reece Richards, who portrayed Eugene on Netflix's Sex Education, claims he was the "victim of an unlawful arrest and police misconduct" in Fulham, West London, on September 4
Reece starred in Sex Education and You on Netflix

Reece continued: “Moments later, three more officers ran at me. They pepper-sprayed me, kicked my legs out from under me, threw me to the round and handcuffed me. In a flash, I was face-down on the pavement with multiple officers holding me down, forcing my head into the ground. I was already injured from the show, but having four officers on top of me worsened my injuries to my back, ribs and stomach.

“I couldn’t see anything, but I could hear my mum nearby, screaming and crying, begging them to let me go. Although I couldn’t see her, her distress was clear, so I asked her to call Brenda Edwards, the director of Hairspray, a family friend and well-known daytime TV host. Brenda arrived around 20 minutes later, and immediately the officers’ attitude shifted. After reviewing body cam footage, they agreed to release me.

“That feeling of helplessness will never leave me. I’ve been stopped and searched before, but never have I been arrested or treated like this. Witnesses have told me that the culprits were also handcuffed but were not pepper-sprayed.”

The actor explained he was “on FaceTime with some of my cast from Hairspray” at the time and found the whole experience “embarrassing, deeply upsetting and exhausting”. He also revealed he has lodged formal complaints with the IPOC and the Met Police.

Hairspray UK shared their support of Reece on Instagram in a statement, which read: “We stand in full support and solidarity with Reece Richards, a valued member of our cast who was wrongfully targeted by the MET Police whilst making his way home after a performance of Hairspray The Musical. We strongly condemn any form of racism and discrimination. We are in close contact with Reece and are offering him our full support during this difficult time.”

A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “We are aware of a video circulating on social media of a man being detained in the Fulham area. Officers often find themselves in dynamic, challenging situations and have to make split-second judgements on which course of action to take. Officers had been pursuing three men who had run out of a car that had crashed in Fulham Palace Road after it failed to stop for police.

“It is clear the man shown in the footage was an innocent bystander and he was dearrested as soon as this was established by officers at the scene. All officers know any use of force must be proportionate and reasonable and they understand their actions will be scrutinised. A complaint has been received in relation to his arrest.

“This is currently being assessed by officers from the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS), along with other material including the officers’ body-worn video footage. None of the officers involved are subject to restrictions at this time.”

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan fumes ‘don’t care’ as Huw Edwards called ‘vulnerable’ by co-star

During the latest instalment of ITV daytime show Loose Women, the panel discussed Huw Edwards’ sentencing and TV star Coleen Nolan shared her honest thoughts on the disgraced BBC presenter

BBC star Huw Edwards was given a six-month suspended prison sentence earlier this week after admitting to accessing indecent images of children.

The 63-year-old former News At Ten presenter was sentenced at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday (September 16) where the court heard how he paid up to £1,500 to a paedophile for the 41 illegal photos.
He was handed a six-month suspended sentence after previously admitting three charges of “making” indecent photographs.

Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring also put the disgraced broadcaster on the sex offender register for seven years and he was ordered to attend a sex offender treatment scheme.

Following the news that Edwards has avoided prison, people have been left outraged. Speaking about the verdict on Loose Women on Tuesday (September 17), panelist Coleen Nolan confessed that she was deeply shocked.

Huw Edwards was given a six-month suspended prison sentence
Huw Edwards was given a six-month suspended prison sentenceShe commented: “I was so shocked when it all came out, then the sentence that he got yesterday was just, I was absolutely speechless about it. I thought, well if they can’t use someone, and it was such a high profile case, I thought this is the perfect time now to make an example of this will not be tolerated at all. What message is that putting out to any child abuser or paedophile? It’s absolutely shocking.”

Sharing her thoughts, TV star Janet Street-Porter highlighted that Huw Edwards’ mental health was shaky.

Although she agreed with what Coleen had said, Janet added: “At the same time, it’s this idea of making an example of someone. What we’ve seen in the last few weeks is the government quickly changed the law so that the rioters, the people who went mad on our streets in August, were quickly dealt with.

“Some of them received custodial sentences for what previously would’ve been a slap on the wrist, a big fine or public service, hundreds of them have received custodial sentences. I’m weighing that against this and I’m thinking at the end of the day, what would be gained by putting Huw Edwards in jail?”

Janet’s comments didn’t go down well with her co-starsCutting in host Ruth Langsford told Janet it would bring justice to the victims. Janet added: “Justice for the victims but he would be very vulnerable.”

However, it seemed her comments did not go down well with her co-stars as Coleen shouted: “Don’t care! Don’t care, good.”

Co-star Brenda Edwards added: “Sorry, but I can’t. The word vulnerable, there are vulnerable children, seven years old being taken advantage of, he’s an adult who a lot of people trusted.”

Loose Women’s GK Barry details off-air moment with co-star and admits she was ‘nervous’

Loose Women star GK Barry has opened up about her time on the ITV chat show and revealed she was left “nervous” before she made her debut on the panel

GK Barry has spilled the beans on a touching behind-the-scenes moment with her Loose Women colleague before her first appearance.

The TikTok sensation, better known as Grace Keeling, made a splashy entrance onto the ITV stage last month, quickly winning over viewers with her charm. Despite her seemingly effortless demeanour while discussing hot topics with the other panellists, Grace was actually battling nerves before stepping into the spotlight.

She has revealed what it’s really like to be part of the popular daytime programme. She enthused about her experience, saying: “I have absolutely loved doing Loose Women.”

Grace admitted to feeling jittery initially but praised the warmth and support from everyone on set. She shared a special mention for Denise, who she knew beforehand, saying: “Denise has been amazing as I knew her before. So, she was really lovely,” reports the Daily Star.

She also recounted how Coleen played a part in easing her anxiety: “Everyone I have met on the show has been great. I was sat next to Coleen for the first show, and I said to her that I was nervous.”

Coleen’s reassuring conversation was just what Grace needed to settle her nerves: “She had this lovely chat with me, and it really helped calm my nerves.”

The celebrity explained that producers encouraged her to showcase her lively personality on the show, even if it meant speaking her mind without restraint. When questioned about the guidance she received prior to filming, she shared: “I was just told to be myself from the first episode and that’s what I have done.”

She also mentioned that she hasn’t received any reprimands yet and is scheduled to make another appearance on the ITV show later this month.

The TV personality expressed her enthusiasm for participating in the show, stating: “I really enjoyed doing the show and I’m back on later this month.” This news coincides with her collaboration with Tequila Rose for their upcoming Pink Gala event.

Tequila Rose Brand Manager Sophie McLeay expressed her excitement, saying: “We are super excited to be painting Manchester pink and throwing our first ever Tequila Rose Pink Gala. Grace is the perfect host to wrap up our endless pink summer, with a night of elegance, glamour and of course THE PINK DRINK.

“To honour our brand fans, we have released an exclusive competition to give members of the public a chance to win tickets to the pinkest event of the year.”

Meghan Markle insider breaks silence after brutal claim staff call her ‘Duchess Difficult’

Meghan Marke was defended by an insider who claimed the latest allegations regarding her attitude towards her staff are “fabrications”.

Allegations regarding Meghan Markle‘s “difficult” attitude and reported mistreatment of her staff by a prestigious US publication have been brutally shut down by Archwell insiders, who described them as “fabrication” and “total nonsense”.

The Hollywood Reporter, one of America’s prestigious entertainment news sources, recently published a scathing report labelling the Duchess of Sussex “Duchess Difficult” and claiming that her staff are allegedly “terrified” of her and her “belittling” behaviour towards them.

The outlet cited sources saying that Meghan “marches around like a dictator in high heels, fuming and barking orders”, with one source adding: “I’ve watched her reduce grown men to tears”.

Also included in the report were allegations regarding the duchess’s “noisy tantrums” and “angry 5am emails” that earned her the nickname “Duchess Difficult”.

But now a new report by GB News claims that insiders of the Archewell Foundation have lashed out at the alleged claims and insisted that the “Duchess Difficult” moniker has never been used.

    Meghan Markle

An Archewell source told the outlet: “The duke and duchess work from Montecito, and we’re based in Hollywood. They likely think we’re all in the same office and that this quote would fly, but the circumstances don’t even allow for it.

“If she’s ‘marching around’ and ‘barking orders’, no Archewell employee could factually claim that… It’s total nonsense.”

A source initially told the Hollywood Reporter: “Everyone’s terrified of Meghan. She belittles people, she doesn’t take advice.

“They’re both poor decision-makers, they change their minds frequently. Harry is a very, very charming person — no airs at all — but he’s very much an enabler. And she’s just terrible.”

Regarding Meghan’s “angry” 5am emails, another source claimed: “Who hasn’t sent an email when they can’t sleep or are awake early?

“I’ve never once ever gotten an email from either of them at that hour – and even if I did, the duchess specifically notes in her email signature that everyone has a different working day, and to not feel obligated to respond outside of normal business hours. These source quotes don’t make any sense!”

At the time of the publication, a Sussex source dismissed the claims and told the Sunday Express: “Everyone is deeply concerned over the timing of the article because it was published just days before Harry’s birthday.

“There are fears that there could be a disgruntled former member of staff who is putting out mistruths which are designed to make them look bad.

“The focus for Camp Sussex now is to build on the success of the last year and to take that positive momentum forward into 2025 and beyond.”

    Meghan and Harry

A PR expert has shared why he believes Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become so unpopular to the public – and it isn’t down to them being “bad people”.

Although claiming that Meghan and Harry have appeared to learn from their experience of “bad PR”, GoUp’s Edward Coram-James has said that this experience is likely why the pair have become so unpopular.

The expert believes that Meghan and Harry are likely “kind, caring and incredible people” but their failures in communication and branding has attributed to “their fall-from-public-favour”.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, the expert said: “To be fair to the Sussexes, they seem to have learned the lessons from bad PR, and appear to have turned the page. I attribute much of their fall-from-public-favour purely as a reflection of what can happen with bad PR. It does not mean that they’re bad people. For all we know, The Sussexes could be kind, caring and incredible people.

Concluding in a blunt nine-word statement, he added: “It just that they had a bad PR plan.”

Discussing how bad PR can affect people in the public eye, Mr Coram-James added: “But, that’s the thing with PR: if it goes wrong, the public can, fairly or unfairly, decide that it makes you a bad person, where, when it goes right, the public can decide that you’re a good person. Its why communications are so key.”

Although they don’t appear to have a good reputation amongst the older generation, Harry appeals more to the younger generation.

In a new poll conducted by Ipsos, 1,097 British adults – all aged between 18 and 75 – were asked whether they would support Harry if he were to return.

The survey, which was conducted between October 8 and 9, showed that 34 percent said they would support Harry – with 46 percent of the responders being aged between 18 and 35.

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK later this month – his fourth visit to Britain this year.

This visit comes with a poignant reason as the Duke will be attending the annual WellChild awards in London on September 30.

The royal, who now resides in the US, has been a patron for the charity for 16 years and has attended the award ceremony many times. Although she is not expected at the award ceremony this year, Meghan attended alongside her husband in both 2018 and 2019.

Exclusive: King Charles’ ‘further embarrassment’ over Prince Andrew amid release of A Very Royal Scandal

King Charles is likely to be ‘further embarrassed’ over Amazon Prime’s A Very Royal Scandal, looking at Prince Andrew’s infamous Newsnight interview, says a royal expert

The Duke of York’s notorious Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis is once again under the spotlight, this time in a second high-profile TV drama within less than a year. Amazon Prime’s new three-part series, A Very Royal Scandal, delves into the events leading up to and following Prince Andrew’s controversial interview where he was questioned about his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This fresh series, hot on the heels of Netflix’s Scoop released back in April, revisits the saga as a top royal expert examines why Prince Andrew remains the “problem that refuses to go away”, causing further “embarrassment” for King Charles and the rest of the Royal Family, reports OK!

As the show hits the screens, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond explains how the Firm might react to the interview resurfacing in the news. “Andrew really is the problem that refuses to go away,” Jennie comments. “I’m sure the King, and indeed Andrew, wish the interview had never taken place, even though Andrew was so pleased with it immediately after the filming.”

Discussing how this show differs from Netflix’s Scoop, Jennie suggests that Emily Maitlis’ involvement is key. “As Emily was so involved with this show as opposed to the last one it’s getting much more publicity than I imagined it would. It promises to fill in quite a few blanks around the making of the interview and Andrew’s demeanour before, during and afterwards. I don’t imagine the King will watch it, but he will be made aware of its contents and any repercussions I’m sure. It’s bound to be a further embarrassment for all concerned.”

During her chat on LBC about the drama where she took the helm as executive producer, Emily lauded Michael Sheen’s portrayal, remarking: “He takes it away from anything that looks like comedy villain, anything that looks like a sort of slam dunk idiocy. He’s not.”

She depicted Andrew as “a father figure, an approachable dad, a loyal ex-husband… and a devoted son and a former hero”, highlighting his return “to adoration” after his stint as a helicopter pilot in the Falklands war.

Reflecting on the period leading up to the notorious interview, Emily shared with LBC her empathy for Andrew “on a human level”, despite the serious accusations against him. She confessed: “I feel uncomfortable at moments, and I feel concerned, and I think I’m also conscious… that it’s not just the ramifications [for] Andrew, it’s everyone around him.. it’s the loyalties to others and the women in his immediate periphery, as well as, of course, to the Epstein victims that [are] the heart of this story.”

In the aftermath, Emily expressed her concern about the interview gaining so much attention without any legal repercussions. “We don’t actually have closure,” she shared on the programme. “We didn’t get a trial. We did this forensic interview, which could be used as a document of public record, but it actually never… went to court… we will never know.”
“None of the Epstein victims ever, as it were, got their moment to hold Epstein to account. And… one of them clearly laid charges at allegations at Andrew as well. And so there’s always that sense of unfinished business, which I think… naturally makes you ask more questions”.

King Charles has issued a statement revealing his profound shock and sadness about a catastrophic event.

The King released his message after learning of the destruction and devastation caused by the catastrophic flooding in central Europe. Several nations have been hit by severe flooding, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania, leaving 23 dead so far. Charles said he and Queen Camilla send their “deepest and most heartfelt condolences” to those who have lost loved ones as he issued a message of support to people affected by the crisis.

“Many people in the United Kingdom have strong, enduring and personal ties to the region, and, together with them, my wife and I send our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to all those who have so tragically lost their loved ones, their homes and their livelihoods.

“We have immense admiration for the sheer courage and dedication of the emergency services across the region who have clearly worked relentlessly to provide desperately needed support, relief and assistance to the countless people whose lives and properties have been dreadfully disrupted.”

In northern Italy, more than 1,000 people were evacuated overnight in the Emilia-Romagna region and the Lamone River has overflown its banks near Bagnacavallo. The European Union’s head office warned this week that the combination of floods in central Europe and deadly wildfires in Portugal are joint proof of a “climate breakdown” that will become the norm unless drastic action is taken.

The King’s message comes just days after it was revealed Prince Harry will be back on UK soil for an extremely poignant event – and many have been wondering whether he will meet up with his father, the King.

It has been officially announced that in his role as patron of the WellChild charity, the Duke of Sussex will be attending its annual awards ceremony in London later this month on September 30. Harry has been a patron of the charity for 16 years, which supports seriously ill children and their families. He is a regular at their annual awards ceremony, attending last year, and this year will present one of the inspirational winners with their awards and also deliver a speech.

Confirmation Harry will be in London for the awards comes just days after his 40th birthday, which saw his estranged royal relatives’ official social media accounts send him best wishes. The message, especially the one from his estranged father has been seen as an olive branch from him over their feud.

However, there is currently one sign that shows that father and son are unlikely to meet despite both being in the UK – and it is down to the King’s schedule. Just days before the WellChild Awards on September 28, Charles and Queen Camilla will attend the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh to mark its 25th anniversary.

According to The Telegraph, the King is likely to spend the days after the engagement north of the border in Scotland. Harry’s event is in London, meaning they will be hundreds of miles apart – although there is still time for plans to be made to faciliate a meeting between the pair.

Prince Harry is said to feel ‘lonely’ in Montecito, California, which is where he resides with his wife Meghan Markle and their two kids, and ‘aches for the world he left behind’

Prince Harry is said to be “lonely” in Montecito, which comes after he spoke about him not believing that his two children would be safe in the United Kingdom.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Montecito, California, from the UK in 2020. The pair, along with their young son Prince Archie, moved to the States mere months after revealing they would be stepping down as working members of the Royal Family. Since moving to America, the Duke and Duchess have set up lives for themselves and their young family, with them even welcoming a daughter, Princess Lilibet. The family now rub shoulders with the great and powerful in Hollywood, but maybe not all is as rosy as it seems.

Kinsey Schofield has spoken to GB News about Prince Harry and how he is likely struggling to settle in an environment lacking in family and friends. The royal reporter says the Duke of Sussex is struggling to settle in an environment lacking in family and friends. Asked by Patrick Christys whether Harry is feeling lonely in California, Kinsey said: “100%”.

She went on to add: “Even without knowing what I know, you have to imaging that this is a young man that grew up in an all boys school with a bunch of rambunctious guys. Going away to school and waking up with your friends every day, then Christmases in a castle where every room is filled with your cousins. Today, he’ll wake up and celebrate a birthday with four people in the room. His children, his wife and his mother-in-law.” She later added: “I do believe he aches for the world he left behind.”

The Duke of Sussex Prince Harry has been given the green light to appeal against a High Court ruling dismissing his challenge over a decision to change the level of his personal security when he visits the UK by a Court of Appeal judge. The Duke has claimed he and his family are not safe.

The Court of Appeal has now said it will listen to his challenge following a direct application from Harry’s lawyers, who said the prince had been granted permission to appeal. Harry first began the action after the Home Office, the ministry responsible for policing, in February 2020 cut off his right to automatic personal police security while in the UK.

Harry, in addition to other senior royals, had received full publicly-funded security protection until he chose to step back from his royal duties and moved to California with Meghan Markle back in March 2020. It was after this that the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) decided In April not to allow Harry the same amount of protection as he previously had been given after he stopped being a “full-time working member of the royal family”. Ravec was entitled to come to this conclusion, according to judge Sir Peter Lane, who then also ordered that Harry should pay 90% of the Home Office’s “reasonable costs” in defending the case. The government’s total outlay was not stated, however.

Judge David Bean, when granting permission for an appeal, said he was persuaded “not without hesitation”, that Harry’s challenge on the grounds that Ravec had not followed its own stated policy had a real prospect of success. The court also found that Sir Peter may have been mistaken in concluding that Harry was not in a position comparable to those in an “Other VIP Category”, who do receive state security.
