Liam fell 49ft from a balcony in Buenos Aires, where he had been on holiday with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy. Alberto Crescenti, head of the state emergency medical system, confirmed that the singer fell into an internal courtyard at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel. Speaking to Argentina’s Todo Noticias TV channel last week, Crescenti said: “A few minutes later [an] emergency team arrived and confirmed the death of this man who we later learned was from a musical group. He had injuries incompatible with life as a result of his fall. There was no way to do anything.”

 

Liam’s father Geoff, 66, flew out to Argentina last Friday to organise the repatriation of his son’s body, but we still don’t know when he will return to the UK to be laid to rest.

The family’s initial application to bring the star home has been delayed by the Argentinian prosecutor until further toxicology reports have been completed. An initial report has ruled that Liam was exposed to various drugs, but it was stressed the initial results do not offer an accurate reading of how much was circulating in his body when he died.

A final analysis is believed to take between ten to 15 days from the point of death, but it can take longer. Investigators are also trawling through mobile phone, computer and security camera data, which “require longer analysis time”.

The police statement to The Associated Press said Payne “had jumped from the balcony of his room.” Police rushed to the hotel in response to an emergency call just after 5 p.m. local time warning of an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” the statement added.

The hotel manager can be heard on a 911 call obtained by the AP saying they had “a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol … He’s destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please.” The manager’s voice became more anxious as the call went on, noting the room had a balcony.

Payne had been vocal about struggling with alcoholism, posting a video in July 2023 to his YouTube channel where he said he had been sober for six months after receiving treatment. Representatives for Payne did not immediately return emails and calls.

Forensic investigators were seen exiting the hotel, from where Payne’s body was removed around three hours after the fall. “I didn’t think he was going to die so young,” 21-year-old Isabella Milesi told the AP.

Earlier this month a local property source claimed that the Beckhams’ offer on the property had been accepted, and they plan to move in early next year.

The Beckhams have had a base in Florida for years, and also spent about £18million on a full-floor five-bedroom penthouse in downtown Miami in 2020.

The couple already have a property portfolio which includes a £31million townhouse in London’s Holland Park and a £12million Cotswolds country pile.

Long-time celebrity columnist Jose Lambiet told the Mail earlier this month: ‘I don’t think people necessarily remember that David Beckham was a football player.

‘They now think of him as a society guy, and the ownership of the soccer team has made him a stalwart in South Florida.

‘Miami is a place where he and Victoria can be comfortable because people are used to famous faces here – there are hundreds of celebrities.’

It is understood that the whole Beckham family had already been to see the property before the latest visit by Beckham, with a source saying that ‘everyone loves it’.

They added: ‘Although it’s David who has the work connection in Miami, the impression from the estate agents is that Victoria has been pushing for the move.

While Jackie didn’t reveal the details of her surgery she revealed that earlier this year the debilitating surgery meant she could barely stand.

Reflecting on her recovery she penned: ‘Random thought. Wild to think 3 months ago I was relearning to walk and couldn’t get up.

‘Physically and mentally I had a hard time, took forever to be ok with myself again especially work and writing wise.’

Pausing for a moment of gratitude she continued: ‘Our bodies are awesome and capable of so much. Take a moment to be grateful for ur support systems, own willpower and strength, whatever ur going through.

‘We all know it’s ok not to be ok all the time and hope everyone is taking care of themselves as much as possible/taking moments to focus on mental and physical health.’

Jackie then added: ‘Also, check in on ur friends. Sending everyone health hugs and love!’

The couple are believed to have been dating since June, and she joined him last month to support Victoria at her Paris Fashion Week show.

She was spotted numerous times with the Beckhams during Fashion Week and even wore one of Victoria’s chic dresses to her runway show.

And it looks like Victoria herself has given Jackie her stamp of approval after the singer recently posed for a mirror photo on Instagram in a sexy, black lace dress that was seemingly given to her by Victoria.

The youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham, brought Jackie, to Florida on Saturday to watch Inter Miami play the New England Revolution at the Chase Stadium.

Cruz was spotted sitting alongside Jackie in the suite at the stadium as they sweetly held hands throughout the match.

In other snaps the couple were seen cosying up together, with Jackie wrapping her arm around her beau’s neck.

According to HELLO!, the brunette beauty is almost a decade older than Cruz, who turns 20 in February.

They wrote: ‘[Jackie] was formerly a member of Brazilian girl band Schutz, [and] is nine years her boyfriend’s senior.

The Duke of York has settled the US civil sexual assault case brought by Virginia Giuffre although he has continued to deny the allegations

The Loose Women clashed on Thursday’s show during a fiery opening discussion over Prince Andrew’s settlement of the US civil sexual assault case brought by Virginia Giuffre.

The Duke of York agreed to pay an undisclosed sum as part of the settlement – although it is reported to be £12 million – and accepted Ms Giuffre had suffered as a victim of abuse.

Prince Andrew made no admission of liability and has continued to deny the allegations.

On Thursday’s instalment of the ITV daytime show, the panellist discussed the out of court settlement and the studio became heated as the conversation devolved into Denise Welch, 63, and Carol McGiffin, 61, shouting at each other.

Host Kaye Adams, 59, posed the opening question to Carol, saying: “Do you think this has diminished trust in the Royal family?”

“You don’t know where the money’s coming from – I don’t care where it’s coming from, if it’s the public money or it’s any money. We don’t even know if it’s 12 million do we?”

Denise exclaimed: “What I’m saying is Jeffrey Epstein has already been found guilty of child sex offences. Andrew went – that wasn’t a mistake. That was a journey he made.”

Kaye finally interjected, saying: “Hold on, he’s apologised for his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. That is the extent of it. He has made a settlement and it has gone to Virginia Guiffre’s charity.”

Carol again weighed in to say: “There’s no day in court, so we’ll never know. Even if there had been, we would never have known anyway. It’s he says she says and it’s who you believe. Can we drop it now?”

Kaye concluded the heated conversation saying that the public demand “transparency” from the Royal family.

She said: “Let’s be realistic, the royal family, if we go back centuries – like every family – has had scandal running through it. Until a certain point in history they were able to employ the tactic of saying nothing and the press stood back.

“But now the press behaves very differently,” she then turned to her fellow panellists to say: “Have we got off to a good start there?”
