It looks like David and Victoria will need to set another place at the next Beckham family meal.

Last weekend, their youngest son Cruz, 19, was spotted looking smitten on a cinema date with his new girlfriend Jackie Apostel

– and apparently mum Victoria, 50, is keeping a close eye on the relationship.

The young couple were out in London’s Chelsea with Cruz’s older brother Romeo and some friends when they put on some serious PDAs.

Cruz looked happy to show off his new girlfriend to the world, lifting up the Brazilian singer and passionately kissing her on the street.

However, insiders say that the relationship has led to a crisis for mum Victoria, who’s worried about welcoming someone new into the fold.

There’s an anxiety for Vic that comes with inviting a new person into their world – especially one they barely know – and all the secrets and personal information about their family that will naturally be shared with them,” an insider tells heat.

Posh is also mum to Brooklyn, 25, Romeo, 21, and Harper, 12, with husband David, 49 – and, while she is notoriously close to her children, her relationship with their plus-ones hasn’t always been as smooth. She reportedly gets on well with Romeo’s on/off-girlfriend of five years Mia Regan – who was noticeably absent from the cinema outing – and Mia is often seen wearing VB’s fashion label and commenting on her social media posts. However, things haven’t been as straightforward with Brooklyn’s wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham, who he married in April 2022.

Victoria and Nicola were famously rumoured to have fallen out over Nicola’s decision not to wear a VB-designed dress on her wedding day, instead opting for a custom Valentino Haute Couture gown. Tensions between the pair reportedly reached the point where Brooklyn and Nicola started to spend less time with his family as a result. Another bone of contention was the newlyweds also choosing to base themselves in the US near Nicola’s family, rather than in the UK with David and Victoria. However, in the past year, the mother and daughter-in-law have made an effort to put all rumours of a feud to bed, frequently sharing complimentary posts about each other on social media.

Our insider says that the experience, as well as the media frenzy surrounding their alleged feud, has left Posh feeling wary of new girlfriends driving a wedge between her and her kids. We’re told, “Things are at a very early stage for Cruz and Jackie, but Victoria doesn’t want to make the same mistakes she made with Nicola and end up alienated from Cruz.

She wants to ensure she welcomes Jackie with open arms, but she can get paranoid if Jackie asks questions about the family or if she is privy to any personal conversations between them.”

Victoria and David – who recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary – have lived their entire relationship in the public eye and, as one of the most famous couples in the world, people are endlessly fascinated by their family life.

From their extravagant 1999 wedding, cheating allegations and career highs and lows, to their triumphant Beckham documentary last year, they have weathered plenty of storms over the years. But, as heat has reported, the recent publication of journalist Tom Bower’s “tell-all” book The House Of Beckham has been seen by some as tarnishing the Beckham brand with rumours of tax avoidance and adultery – so it’s no wonder Vic wants to keep their circle tight. Not only that, but now that three of the couple’s four children are grown-ups and are becoming stars in their own right, we’re told she wants the family to stick together to avoid any future crisis for the brand.

“Vic always makes a conscious effort to forge a close bond with the boys’ girlfriends. She knows only too well how unpleasant it is if there is tension between her and one of her son’s partners, as there was for a while with Nicola,” says the source. “But given she doesn’t know Jackie well, she’s concerned that the relationship could backfire and lead to trouble down the line. There’s always the fear that if things fall apart, anyone new could divulge secrets to try to damage their brand.”

There’s also the worry that Cruz could move thousands of miles away with Jackie – who used to be part of the Brazilian girl band Schutz – which has further sparked Vic’s fears of having an empty nest.

The singer-songwriter spends a lot of time in London, but is said to consider Brazil home and eventually wants to return to South America. It would be a blow for Victoria if Cruz were to go with her, given that she’s already lost Brooklyn to the US. “From what Cruz has told Victoria, Jackie wants to live near her loved ones in the future, so the thought of having yet another son live thousands of miles away is understandably a concern,” we’re told.

However, insiders say that Victoria knows she is getting carried away thinking about the worst case scenario when it’s still early days for the young couple. Apparently, David is urging her to keep a cool head and reminding her that she doesn’t have to become best friends with Jackie right away. Our source says, “David has urged Vic to be as welcoming as possible without opening up to Jackie like she has done with other people in the past – he’s encouraged her to keep her guard up until they know Jackie better.”

The source adds, “Ultimately, Vic just wants Cruz to be happy and to keep the family as close as possible. So, she’s hoping they can build up that trust with Jackie and forge a bond as they get to know her more.”

Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has signed former England captain David Beckham as its brand ambassador to kick off its UEFA Euro 2024 marketing campaign.

Beckham will become a global brand ambassador for the Chinese company’s low-cost marketplace AliExpress,

in a deal that is being touted as the company’s largest endorsement to date.

Alibaba announced the partnership on Monday as part of its promotional campaign for Euro 2024, which will begin next month, and for which Alibaba is also a sponsor.

Beckham will lead Alibaba’s “Score More with AliExpress” campaign, which is being sold as featuring special deals to celebrate the tournament.

It has not been disclosed how much Beckham is due to earn from the commercial deal

with a company perhaps most famous for founder Jack Ma’s rapid rise and even faster fall after falling out with the ruling Chinese Communist Party.

“AliExpress is helping fans get even closer to Uefa Euro 2024 this summer, by offering them great prizes as the action takes place on the pitch,” Beckham was quoted as saying.

AliExpress is joining other major Chinese companies, such as electric vehicle maker BYD and electronics giant Vivo, in sponsoring the Euros.

Although Alibaba has been somewhat slower to enter the international market, it has reported strong earnings recently, according to Euronews. In the January to March quarter this year, the company’s international division (AIDC) saw a 45 per cent year-on-year increase in revenues.

“The strong performance was driven by growth of AIDC’s cross-border businesses, in particular growth contributed by the Choice business on AliExpress,” said the firm’s earnings report.

The Beckham endorsement deal comes in the wake of the European Commission launching a formal investigation in March against AliExpress.

The investigation relates to concerns over the dissemination of illegal and harmful goods, including fake medicines and products that are not compliant with EU regulations.

a spokesperson for AliExpress said at the time that the company has “been working with, and will continue to work with, the relevant authorities on making sure we comply with applicable standards and will continue to ensure that we will be able to meet the requirements of the DSA”.

“AliExpress is committed to creating a safe and compliant marketplace for all consumers,” the spokesperson added.

2003: David Beckham is seen with a brunette at a nightclub in Madrid.

The affair scandal began with David Beckham’s move to Madrid to play for the soccer team Real Madrid in the summer of 2003.

In September, a few months after the move, Beckham was spotted on a night out with a mystery brunette in Madrid, the Guardian reported.

The person was later identified as Rebecca Loos, his personal assistant in Madrid.

April 2004: Rebecca Loos accuses Beckham of an affair.

On April 4, 2004, the UK’s News of the World newspaper published a story that alleged Beckham had an affair with Loos, who had since been fired as his assistant.

Later that month, Loos gave a tell-all television interview with Sky News’s Kay Burley in which she said they had first slept together the night they were spotted at the nightclub in September.

“I think the chemistry between David and I was so strong, and people were not happy because I was being very unprofessional and he’s a married man,” she said, adding: “We dropped off the other two people in the car and started kissing quite passionately all the way back to the hotel. It was like magnets, pretty amazing.”

Loos also said in the interview she wasn’t afraid of the Beckhams taking her to court.

“There is something I know about him, an intimate part of his body that I think only women who’ve been in bed with him would know,” she said. “So I think if they did want to take me to court, I could easily stand up and say, ‘Well…’”

In a statement published by the Guardian at the time, Beckham denied the allegations.

“During the past few months I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life,” he said. “What appeared this morning is just one further example. The simple truth is that I am very happily married and have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change this.”

April 2004: More women accuse Beckham of cheating.

Soon after Loos came forward, two more women said they’d also had affairs with the famous soccer player.

On April 11, the model Sarah Marbeck told the News of the World she had an affair with Beckham in July 2001 while the soccer star was in Singapore with Manchester United.

“When we made love David told me, ‘I know what we are doing is wrong, but I can’t help it,’” Marbeck said. “The first time he took me to bed, he kissed me everywhere. I looked down and there was David Beckham kissing my breasts. David Beckham!”

Beckham denied Marbeck’s claims in a statement published by the Guardian at the time.

“This weekend a series of even more absurd and unsubstantiated claims have been published about David and Victoria Beckham,” the statement read. “The couple continue to dismiss these stories and they will not be commenting upon them further at this time. Lawyers have been instructed by David and Victoria concerning these matters.”

A week later, a third woman came forward to the British tabloid The People.

Celina Laurie told the publication she and Beckham had a one-night stand in Denmark in August 2002.

May 2004: Beckham criticizes the Daily Mail and News of the World in his first public interview since the reports.

Beckham told BBC Radio 5 Live: “I’ve made it clear that with two papers the way I and my family have been treated is an absolute disgrace because at the end of the day, I’m a nice person and loving husband and father.”

September 2004: David and Victoria Beckham sue the News of the World over affair reports.

“The News of the World was given the opportunity to provide an apology but have chosen not to respond to the couple’s request,” lawyers for the couple said in a statement, the Guardian reported.

The case was eventually dropped in 2006 after the two parties came to a settlement, the terms of which were not disclosed.

News Group Newspapers, the publisher of the News of the World, said in a statement: “The defamation proceedings by David and Victoria Beckham against the News of the World have been resolved on a confidential basis. There will be no further comment.”

The News of the World eventually closed in 2011 amid a decline in advertising and scandals involving accusations of hacking into the phones of celebrities, politicians, and victims of crimes.

October 2004: A fourth woman says she hooked up with Beckham.

Beauty-shop owner Danielle Heath told the Sunday Mirror she and Beckham had performed sexual acts on each other on two occasions in Madrid.

In a statement, the Beckhams denied the allegations.

“We are sick and tired of people trying to make money at the expense of our family. It is even more distressing when we are expecting our third child soon. The allegations are completely and totally untrue, and it is in the hands of our lawyers,” the statement said.

2007: Victoria addresses the rumors for the first time.

In 2007, Victoria was asked about the affair allegations during a joint interview with her husband for a W Magazine cover story.

“I’m not going to lie. It was a really tough time. It was hard for our entire families. But I realized a lot of people have a price,” she said.

“David and I got through it together. No one said marriage was going to be easy. Yes, there have been bumps along the road,” Victoria continued. “But the fact is we’ve come out of everything we’ve been through stronger and happier. It’s even better now than when we were first married. After all these years, we can just come home and have a laugh together.”

March 2013: Loos says she regrets the way she addressed her alleged affair.

Almost 10 years after the scandal, Loos appeared on the British daytime television show “Daybreak” and addressed her alleged affair with Beckham.

She said, “I’m a mother now and married, and knowing what I know now I would definitely have gone about things quite differently,” the Metro reported. “I was young and foolish and very reckless. I didn’t think things through and acted on impulse a lot. I think I regret the impact on everybody. I think I could have gone about it in a kinder way.”

Loos added: “I don’t regret speaking out but I regret the way I went about it.”

October 4, 2023: Victoria says that period was “the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life.”

In a new four-part Netflix docuseries about Beckham, Victoria described the alleged affair saga as the “hardest period” of their marriage.

“It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life,” she said. “It felt like the world was against us.”

“We were against each other, if I’m being completely honest,” she continued. “You know, up until Madrid sometimes it felt like us against everybody else but we were together, we were connected, we had each other.”

“But when we were in Spain, it didn’t really feel like we had each other either,” she said. “And that’s sad. I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me. It was a nightmare.”

Asked if she resented Beckham at the time, Victoria replied, “If I’m being totally honest, yes I did.”

In the docuseries, Beckham also addressed how the speculation affected his and Victoria’s relationship.

“There was some horrible stories which were difficult to deal with,” he said. “It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage.”

Beckham is still unsure how he and Victoria survived that time period.

“I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty,” he said. “Victoria is everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family, and what we had was worth fighting for.”

October 21, 2023: Loos slams David Beckham for “making himself the victim” over their alleged affair.

In a video interview published by the Daily Mail in October, Loos responded to the comments made by the Beckhams in the Netflix docuseries.

Loos said she was completely unaware that the couple had mentioned her in the series, or that the series even existed, until she got a call from a Norwegian journalist.

Loos said: “He’s making himself the victim and making me look like the liar. He’s making me look like I made up these horrible stories, I’m the one that’s made Victoria suffer.”

“He’s the one who decides to lie to her, to say we don’t have to tell my wife. He’s made all those choices,” she added. “If I remain silent, I will be known as the liar.”

Representatives for Beckham and Loos did not immediately respond to Insider’s requests for comment.

June 20, 2024: “The House of Beckham” details Beckham’s alleged affair with Loos.

“The House of Beckham,” written by biographer Tom Bower, was released on June 20, 2024,. It explores Beckham’s alleged affair with Loos, citing various sources, including magazine articles from the early 2000s.

The book claims that Beckham was lonely in Spain after signing with Real Madrid. He reportedly grew close with Loos when they went for drinks, and they started sleeping together soon after.

“In his suite, Loos discovered that ‘David was a sensational lover — the sex was highly charged and explosive. David’s stamina was extraordinary.’ Repeatedly he said, ‘I know we shouldn’t be doing this but I can’t help it. It makes me so happy,’” the book claims.

It goes on: “Loos would add, ‘He’d been going weeks without sex, trying to stay faithful to Posh.’ One exchange in bed that night impressed Loos. ‘You’re so lucky,’ she said. ‘You could have anyone.’”

The book also claims that Loos decided to go public with the alleged affair after she and Beckham went to Madrid’s Hard Rock Cafe one night with other employees from the management company he was signed with.

The next day, a Hard Rock waitress gave Loos a note explaining that Beckham didn’t tip for the service. When Loos passed the note to Beckham, he allegedly gave his assistant money to pay the waitress to preserve his image.

“After reading the note, Beckham was alarmed. ‘Give her this,’ he said, handing over a thick wodge of euros,” the book added.

Loos reportedly told her friend, PR manager Emma Basden, why she decided to go public about the alleged affair.

“Angered by both the secrecy and the abuse of her loyalty she looked for an opportunity to hurt him. Not least because on their first night in bed he said that she was his first secret relationship. ‘I know I will be up against the most powerful family in the world,’ she told Basden.”

June 20, 2024: “The House of Beckham” claims that Beckham used the names of “Peter Pan” characters to be discreet when talking about Victoria Beckham and his alleged mistress.

“The House of Beckham” also makes claims about Beckham’s alleged affair with Marbeck.

It claims that the soccer star referred to the women in his life using characters from “Peter Pan.”

“In his texts Marbeck was called ‘Tinkerbell’ and Victoria was ‘Wendy’. On 10 August 2001, Beckham had sent a series of explicit texts to Tinkerbell about his sexual fantasies. Asked for a description of underwear he had bought for her, he replied: ‘It is a surprise. It’s very sexy but very filthy,’” the book claims.

It continues with an explicit retelling of a text Beckham reportedly sent to Marbeck about what he wanted to do with her, involving “candles, champagne, chocolate, cream, strawberries and a massive bed.”

The book adds: “Marbeck kept all those text messages. During their two-year affair Marbeck flew to Leeds in March 2002 to watch England v Italy. In a text he urged her to behave ‘discreetly’ because ‘you have to remember Wendy’.”

Representatives for Beckham did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.

David Beckham has opened up about the greatest gift he’s received from his wife, Victoria.

The former soccer player recently appeared on a podcast episode of SiriusXM’sThis Life of Mine with James Corden, where he discussed his first impression of his now wife.

“I really just fancied her. I did. I just fancied her,” he told the host. “I didn’t know what she was like as a person.

I just actually fancied her, like most people did at that time, and I didn’t know who I was marrying, who I was going to be with for the rest of my life.

I didn’t realise what a strong woman she was and that is what really attracted me to her more than anything.”

David continued: “Yes, she’s beautiful. Yes, she was sexy. Yes, I fancied her, but in all honesty, I like a strong woman and I like the fact that she works hard.

I like the fact that she’s a great mum. I like the fact that she looks after me sometimes, most of the time, and you know, we’ve created this life with four amazing children which are the most important things in our life, so that’s why I chose Victoria.”

He specifically noted and praised the way she handles family matters.

“The way that she kind of runs the family, I think that is the most important thing to me,” David told Corden. “Because family has always been the most important, and the greatest thing she’s ever given me is my four children.”

Victoria and David are parents to 25-year-old son Brooklyn, 21-year-old son Romeo, 19-year-old son Cruz, and 12-year-old daughter Harper. They welcomed a daughter-in-law to their family after Brooklyn married Nicola Peltz Beckham in 2022.

The couple first crossed paths when David spotted Victoria at a televised Spice Girls concert back in 1996. During the podcast, David admitted that the girl group’s songs still hold a place in his heart, specifically his favourite song “Say You’ll Be There.”

Recently, the two of them celebrated Brooklyn’s birthday earlier this month, with the fashion designer taking to Instagram on 4 March to share a birthday tribute for her eldest son in honour of his 25th birthday. In her first post, she shared a sweet throwback video of a young Brooklyn singing along with his father at a Spice Girls concert.

“Happy birthday Brooklyn. We all love you so much,” she captioned the video. “Generous, funny, talented with the kindest most giving heart. We are so proud of the son, big brother and husband you are. You always put everyone before yourself. Your love and energy is so special and touches everyone you meet. We love you!!!!!”

However, in her second post, Victoria took the opportunity to praise herself and husband David for their parenting skills. “Today we celebrate Brooklyn turning 25!!! David I love you so much and I’m so proud of the parents we are,” she wrote alongside a photo of the couple – who have been married since 1999 – posing with the aspiring chef.

We’re told, “While Vic respects and loves Nicola for how family-orientated she is, and understands her wanting to be with her grandmother right now,

she is a little concerned about her and Brooklyn living separate lives and has reminded them not to get complacent. She’s told them they need to ensure they continue to keep putting in the work required to ensure their marriage remains strong.”

Victoria and David, who are set to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary later this year, are no strangers to navigating marriage troubles in the public eye, having worked through his alleged affair with his former PA Rebecca Loos in 2003. She’s been offering advice to Nicola and trying to support her in any capacity she can. It comes after Nicola cosied up to her mother-in-law Victoria at the star-studded Lola premiere in Los Angeles on Saturday at the Regency Bruin Theatre.

Nicola made a milestone by making her directorial debut with the upcoming drama titled, Lola – which is slated to be released on February 9.

The pair paused for an assortment of snaps together while both wearing outfits from the Victoria Beckham collection.

The budding star affectionately draped her right arm over her mother-in-law’s shoulder, and Victoria was seen grabbing hold of her hand with her own.

Victoria also wrote a sweet message on Instagram: ‘we could not be more proud of you! Congratulations on your incredible film, Lola. officially in theatres February 9th! Kisses xx’

The stylish pair were also dressed to impress for the special evening, with Nicola donning a white, corset top that had thick straps that wrapped around her shoulders.

She also wore a pair of low-waisted, white trousers and slipped into a pair of white shoes that were partially concealed by the hem of the pants.

The beauty opted for minimal accessories to allow the outfit to be the main focal point, and donned a mini ear cuff as well as a few rings that offered a flashy flare.

Her locks were parted in the middle and pulled back into a chic up do, preventing any loose strands from falling onto her face.

Peltz opted for a classical makeup look, which comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a gold, shimmering shadow around her eyes.

However, Nicola – who is an heiress – has received backlash for making a film about a poverty-stricken 19-year-old. She has also been criticized for unfairly using her elite background to get her pet project made.

A trailer was released online last week, triggering a fierce backlash.

One user posted on Instagram: ‘I wish rich people like yourself would stay away from trying to tell stories like this… You have no idea what this character’s reality is like.

‘I find it offensive to the working-class women who are truly living this reality that have to see a billionaire indulge themselves into a dream acting role.’

Another wrote: ‘This project was funded through privilege.’ People on X, formerly Twitter, were just as scathing, with one calling it ‘poverty porn… just an escalating series of the worst clichés imaginable.’

For Lola, she managed to secure the services of 28-time Grammy-winning producer Quincy Jones, the man behind Michael Jackson’s Thriller album, to help with the soundtrack.
