Leaked Strictly spoiler leaves fans fuming ‘I’m even more annoyed’ over second axed celebrity

Leaked BBC Strictly Come Dancing spoiler leaves fans fuming over second axed celebrity - Birmingham Live

Strictly fans were left fuming “I’m even more annoyed” after a leaked spoiler revealed which celebrity left the competition this weekend.

The results show airs on Sunday but is pre-recorded on the Saturday night after the live show, meaning that the name of the axed star is often leaked online. The Mirror knows the name of the celebrity, but won’t be naming them.

Fans took to Twitter this evening to share their opinion, with one commenting: “After this spoiler I’m even more annoyed.” While another commented: “I would like to thank the British public for getting it right.”

It comes after Movie Night saw Love Island star Tasha Ghouri soar to the top of the leaderboard with Aljaz Skorjanec after wowing with their Barbie-themed Rumba to Billie Eilish’s What Was I Made For. Head Judge Shirley Ballas was blown away, admitting that she was better than some people she judged at the recent world championships. The pair scored an incredible 34 out of 40 after scoring two nines from Shirley and Anton Du Beke.

Following closely behind her were three couples in joint second, all scoring 33 – Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu and Dr Punam Kirshnan and Gorka Marquez.

At the other end of the table were Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones after they failed to impress for a third week in a row with their Samba to The Little Mermaid’s Poor Unfortunate Souls. However, judge Revel Horwood’s scatching critique was interrupted by Toyah’s other half, Robert Fripp. After telling her that she was “stuck in the mud” and was “flat-footed”, Robert leapt out of his seat to boo the judge.

But Craig was having none of it as he responded: “Sit down young man!” After discovering that he was Toyah’s husband, he quipped: “Oh, that’s your husband. Even more so, sit down!”

Also struggling to impress tonight were Paul Merson and partner Karen Hauer following their Cha Cha to The Magnificent Seven Theme. Despite receiving his best score of the series, he was awarded 19 out of a possible 40 after receiving a 3 from Craig. Also in the danger zone were Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał with 26 and Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe with 28.

Nick Knowles had been second favourite to leave the competition this weekend, but was forced to pull out of performing after suffering a nasty injury in rehearsals. As part of the rules, he and partner Luba were given a bye to next week. However, BBC bosses have been left deeply concerned that his injury could be serious enough to see him completely pull out of the show altogether.

This Morning star Trevor Sorbie reveals terminal cancer diagnosis – ‘I might not make Christmas’

Trevor Sorbie MBE reveals he has 'weeks left to live'

A much-loved member of the This Morning team has revealed they have terminal bowel cancer.

Legendary hairdresser, Trevor Sorbie, 75, broke the news on the show today, telling hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, he “might not make Christmas”.

Joined by his wife, Carole, in the studio, he said: “I lost a lot of blood one night and I was unusually disturbed about that. I went to the hospital and they told me I had bowel cancer.

“I had a little panic attack and Carole and I looked at each other and we were just both speechless walking down the road… I didn’t know what to say. I went and had a big gin and tonic and that helped! But then it spread to my liver, I had a six hour operation, but it came back to my liver, had another operation, and now the major [growth] they won’t cut it out because it’s too close to a major blood vessel.”

Trevor continued: “But the thing is with me, I never wake up thinking, ‘Oh poor me, I’ve got cancer’ or feel sorry for myself, I know I’ve got it here [points to stomach] but I haven’t got it here [points to head] and I’ve been going to work two days a week, up until two weeks ago.

“I go there because that’s my medicine, that is my life. Sixty years I’ve worked passionately to achieve beyond my wildest dreams and when I go in, it’s my staff. I’ve had them for up to 30 years, they are like family, I’m just one of the team. I had a nurse access me and I said, ‘Will I make Christmas?’ and she said, ‘I don’t know Trevor’ and I said ‘I damn well will!”

Praising her husband, who opened his first salon in 1977 and boasts a range of top-selling hair products, for being so strong, Carole said: “It’s totally overwhelming most days, but I get my strength through this man – he’s guiding me through a good death – living a good life and dying a good death – and up until then I hadn’t through about that, but what we do every day now is show thanks for every day that we have and wake up together and it’s all the simple things.”

Revealing she has already started bereavement counselling, she continued: “I did struggle and was crying a lot but Trevor and my son encourage me to go to counselling and I’ve actually started bereavement counselling which I didn’t know you could do before and they are going to guide me through and hold my hand and up until two years, or however long it takes after the event, so I do feel very supported and feel lucky I have that support… but more so from Trevor than anyone because he’s incredible.”

The iconic hairdresser, known for creating the iconic wedge haircut after working with Vidal Sassoon, said he had helped women with cancer by “cutting wigs for them”. Summing up his outlook on his diagnosis, Trevor concluded: “The brain rules the body – the heart play a big part as well – but that [the brain] is the engine room and because I’ve got a charity and have helped many women through cancer by cutting wigs for them and doing that, people handle it in different ways, there is no right or wrong way.

“I believe the mind is stronger than any other function… doctors have even said, ‘Trevor, you’re breaking medical science, you shouldn’t be here right now.’”

  • Amanda Abbington’s ‘verbally abusive’ behaviour to Giovanni Pernice laid bare

Amanda Abbington’s ‘verbally abusive’ behaviour to Giovanni Pernice laid bare

Amanda Abbington's 'verbally abusive' behaviour to Giovanni Pernice laid bare - Mirror Online

Amanda Abbington has been accused of using a string of swear words directed at her professional Strictly Come Dancing partner, Giovanni Pernice.

The Sherlock actress, 52, was paired with the Italian dancer on the BBC show last year, but things ended in turmoil when Amanda left the show early due to complications with Giovanni. She recently also revealed that she had been dealing with a breast cancer scare while on the show.

The actress filed a complaint against Giovanni shortly after quitting the show and made a number of allegations about him – including that he used vile and insulting language when speaking to her. Giovanni has always strongly denied Amanda’s claims.

A BBC inquiry into the matter mostly exonerated the professional dancer from allegations last month but did issue an apology to Amanda after confirming some of her accusations of bullying.

It was revealed that months of waiting for the outcome of the probe had come to an end and bosses have ruled that the Italian dancer was not abusive, threatening or intimidating. They also confirmed there was no aggressive or physical conduct.

In a recent interview, Amanda recalled discovering two lumps in her breast, which turned out to be non-cancerous, during what turned out to be her ‘final week’ on Strictly. She added she was relieved her cancer scare meant she could quit the competition.

Although some of Amanda’s claims against Giovanni were upheld, it has now been alleged by Mail Online that Amanda directed a ‘string of swear words’ towards Giovanni – and was reportedly deemed to have been the one to start the coarse language by the BBC probe.

According to the report, Amanda was also reportedly ruled to have been the only one to have used the ‘c-word’ in the hours of rehearsal footage seen by investigators in the inquiry.

A BBC source told the publication that during their written exchanges on WhatsApp, Amanda reportedly referred to the Italian dancer as a ‘k***head,’ a ‘d***face’ and a ‘t**t’. It comes after Amanda complained that Giovanni was verbally abusive to her during rehearsals.

“Amanda has continued to go out there and say how awful Giovanni has been to her yet she was saying things like this to him,” the source told Mail Online. “She used swear words a lot, yet she has gone on the telly to say how awful things have been for her and how she had to go home and process all of Giovanni’s swearing.”

“It is all very, very rich of Amanda to have said this, now we know the truth. It’s notable that she has chosen not to share this part of the report while going on television and giving interviews to sling mud at Giovanni,” they added.

The insider also claimed that evidence showed ‘regular swearing, dark humour and jokes of a sexualised nature’ came from both Giovanni and Amanda – so much so that those around them were made to feel ‘uncomfortable’ by their behaviour and the way in which they spoke to one another.

“Both Amanda and Giovanni used language freely,” said a BBC source. “Amanda did too and she didn’t need to be prompted by Gio at all,” the source said.

The pair were partnered together on last year’s series and Amanda made allegations of “bullying” and “aggressive behaviour,” but professional dancer Giovanni denied “abusive or threatening behaviour”.

Amanda questioned his teaching methods and described his behaviour as “unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean” and in one interview, Amanda compared the BBC show to “the trenches” as she told Channel 4 News the broadcaster’s producers had been left “horrified” by clips that proved her allegations of “humiliating behaviour of a sexual nature.” The Sherlock star was on the show for several weeks but pulled out early.

Friends of Giovanni have since accused Amanda of taking things “gone too far” and attempting to “destroy” him. “Amanda went too far, what is she doing? She knows full well what was in the report, she kept referring to it during the interview, saying that she had a 30-page report with her in the studio, which she said she and her lawyer are digesting,” one told the Daily Mail after Amanda’s Newsnight interview.

Another commented: “When will she stop? Once again Abbington is destroying Giovanni in the media. For months, there have been stories in the papers of far more serious things Amanda says he did to her, those have not been upheld so what has she got to say about that?”

Responding to the findings of the Strictly probe last month, Amanda said that despite the vile abuse she had received, she had “never regretted coming forward” and that the apology was a “vindication” of her complaint. She went on to reveal she had been invited to meet with senior management at the BBC, which is something she is considering.

Amanda in a statement: “As the BBC has indicated today in its statement, my decision to come forward and complain about Giovanni Pernice’s conduct towards me was not an easy thing to do. In the days, weeks and months since I contacted the BBC, I’ve been accused of being a liar, a troublemaker and of being “mad and unstable”. I’ve also received rape and murder threats and a bomb threat was sent to my place of work. My family and children have also been subjected to threats and intimidation.

“Despite this vile abuse, I’ve never regretted coming forward, and today’s apology from the BBC is a vindication of my complaint. It’s not just a vindication for me, it’s a vindication for the other people who have contacted me since I made my complaint to express concerns about their own experiences on Strictly Come Dancing. I hope those who have felt unable to speak out now will be more confident that they will be listened to and believed. The BBC has invited me to meet with senior management and this is something I will now be considering.

“This apology means a great deal to me. So too does the fact that the BBC have acknowledged the steps that were put in place to support and protect me and past contestants were ‘not enough’. What matters most now is that lessons have been learned and that the BBC makes the changes they’ve promised, to ensure others don’t experience the same ordeal that I and others like me did.”

The BBC apologised to Amanda over complaints she made about her time on Strictly Come Dancing in 2023. After the investigation, the BBC upheld some of the complaints she made against her professional dancing partner, Giovanni Pernice, but they cleared him of other allegations.

In a statement, the BBC said that it takes allegations of bullying and harassment “very seriously”, adding the review into Abbington’s complaints had taken time “due to its complex nature” and in order to ensure “a rigorous and robust process”.

“We have assessed the complaints and we have upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made,” it said. “We want to apologise to Amanda Abbington and to thank her for coming forward and taking part. We know this would not have been an easy thing to do.”

The Mirror has approached Amanda’s representatives for comment on this story.

Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed’s brief romance is being explored on The Crown.

After being introduced in season 5 of the Netflix series, actor Khalid Abdalla continues to portray the Egyptian billionaire scion who was romantically involved with Diana (played by Elizabeth Debicki) in the show’s sixth and final season.

The couple dated for a few months before their untimely deaths in late August 1997, when their car crashed in Paris. As a result of the crash, Fayed and their driver died instantly, while Diana died hours later from her injuries.

Their relationship will be further explored in the show’s sixth season as the series documents Diana’s final days.

From his Hollywood career as a producer to his family background, here’s everything to know about Fayed.

He was born in Alexandria, Egypt

Born Imad El-Din Mohamed Abdel Moneim Fayed on April 15, 1955, Fayed spent his early life in Alexandria, Egypt. Fayed graduated from Sandhurst Military Academy before attending Collège Saint Marc in Egypt and the Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland, per Biography.com.

Fayed was the eldest son of the Egyptian billionaire Mohamed Al-Fayed, and his only son with his first wife Samira Khashoggi. Though Egyptian-born, Al-Fayed was well known for his business ventures in Europe, including his former ownership of Harrods department store and Fulham F.C. in the United Kingdom as well as the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Paris, where Diana spent her last meal and evening with Fayed before their car crash.

As shown on The Crown, Al-Fayed also had an interesting connection to the royal family, as he took over the lease of Paris’ Villa Windsor (the former home of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor) following Wallis Simpson’s death. He also worked closely with Sydney Johnson, who was the former valet of Edward VIII.

Following his graduation from Sandhurst Military Academy, Fayed had plans to join the Dubai air force but instead briefly worked as an attaché at the United Arab Emirates embassy in London, per Vanity Fair.

    He was an executive producer

Fayed executive produced a handful of big films in the ’80s and ’90s, including Chariots of FireHook, and The Scarlet Letter. The former took home Best Picture at the 1982 Oscars, where producer David Puttnam thanked Fayed and his father during his speech.

Like Diana, Fayed was a divorcé. He was previously married to model Suzanne Gregard in 1986, but they divorced after less than a year of marriage. He was also engaged to model Kelly Fisher shortly before getting together with Diana.

He reportedly met Princess Diana at a polo match

According to The Independent, Fayed and Diana first met at a polo match in 1986, where he was playing against Diana’s then-husband Prince Charles. They connected again 11 years later when Diana and her children, Prince William and Prince Harry, vacationed with him and his family in St. Tropez.

Princess Diana’s sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale made a rare appearance at Prince William’s latest engagement.

On Sept. 12, Lady Sarah, 69, supported her nephew at the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Air Force (RAF) College in Cranwell, Lincolnshire, England. The Prince of Wales, 42, appeared at the graduation on behalf of his father King Charles, and Rebecca English of the Daily Mail reported that Sarah was there.

“I’m told she heard he was in the area and wanted to support him,” English wrote on X. Her post included a video seeming to show Lady Sarah in the background while Prince William chatted at a reception after the parade, where he joined graduating officers and their loved ones to learn more about their experiences at RAF Cranwell and hopes for their future careers.

Prince William referenced his own training at RAF Cranwell in a speech — and promised to keep his remarks brief.

“Whilst I didn’t graduate on this exact Parade Ground, I did graduate from flying training here, so I know something about the celebrations that will come later — so I promise I’ll only take a few minutes of your time!” the Prince of Wales jokingly told the graduates.

The royal also acknowledged the role of those who supported the latest class of RAF cadets elsewhere in his message. “To the families and friends gathered here — thank you for your encouragement and understanding to get these brilliant men and women this far, and for the empathy, compromise and dedication that will be required to give these officers every chance of success in their careers,” he said.

William earned his wings at the airbase in 2008 in a ceremony that Kate Middleton, King Charles, the future Queen Camilla and Lady Sarah all attended.

Lady Sarah and Lady Jane, 67, were there when Prince William and Prince Harry, 39, unveiled Princess Diana’s memorial statue at Kensington Palace on what would have been her 60th birthday in July 2021, and they all came together again recently at the memorial service for Jane’s late husband, Lord Robert Fellowes, on Aug. 29. Robert, who spent much of his career in the royal household and served as Queen Elizabeth’s private secretary from 1990 to 1999, died on July 29 at age 82 of undisclosed causes, and was honored at the private service in Norfolk one month later.

Prince Harry’s unexpected transatlantic travel to pay his respects was deeply emotional, leaving him “pleased” and guests “astounded,” a source told PEOPLE.

The trip carried significance, coming just two days ahead of the anniversary of Princess Diana’s death following a car accident in Paris on Aug. 31, 1997. However, Harry’s surprise arrival in the U.K. — despite earlier reports that he wouldn’t attend — didn’t lead to a public reconciliation with his brother, William, amid their ongoing rift.

At the service at St. Mary’s Church in Snettisham, the estranged brothers sat apart, each with different groups of their maternal cousins.

PEOPLE further learned that the Duke of Sussex stayed with his uncle Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, at Althorp House following his surprise appearance at the memorial service. Althorp is the Spencer family’s ancestral estate in Northamptonshire and is where Princess Diana is buried.

In May, Lady Jane, Earl Spencer and several of the Spencer cousins supported Prince Harry at the 10-year anniversary service for the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, which no senior members of the royal family attended. It seems Victoria Beckham is all anyone can talk about these days. If you thought the frenzied energy surrounding Target collaboration lines of the past was already manic, prepare yourself to see fans of the designer reach all new levels of losing it once her capsule collection drops in stores on April 9. Until then, you’ll just have to satisfy yourselves by endlessly fantasy shopping the pieces online, perusing the hashtag #VBxTarget, and of course, listening to the woman of the hour herself explain exactly why everything in her new line is an absolute must-buy.

In an interview with the Today show, the pop star turned designer explained how her collaboration with the big box chain came to be, saying, “I wanted to work with a retailer that could enable me to reach out to women all around America no matter what their budget, I was really excited because I am often in Target stores with the kids.” No your eyes do not deceive you, Posh Spice did just admit she’s an avid Target shopper, enthusing “you can just get everything in Target!”

    victoria-beckham1

But in terms of the collaboration itself, which marks her first foray into designing for children, Beckham says it was a natural evolution given that, “I have so much fun dressing Harper and can take what I’ve learned from having a daughter and really use that when designing this collection for little girls. I know what they like, I know what’s comfortable for girls, and Harper was really involved in the whole process and she has her collection and she loves wearing it.” She added, “This collection really makes me smile.”

She also touched again on that moving letter she wrote for British Vogue, talking about her early years in the industry, saying, “I was bullied at school. I wasn’t the smartest, I wasn’t the most talented when I went to theater school, and yet I worked really, really hard and every time someone knocked me down, I got up and I started again. And I look at that and I think that’s a positive message, that if i can do it anyone can do it. If you work hard enough and you focus then you can achieve really great things.”

A sense of work ethic she’s also passed down to her children, explaining that she’s, “definitely not a pushover and neither is David,” in fact, she adds they’re quite, “strict with the children. They’re happy kids but they’re very polite children, they work hard at school, they know that they have to work hard and their work has to be done on time. We are constantly checking their grades at school, we’re always at parent’s evening, and the most important question that we always have is, ‘are they nice kids and are they well-behaved?’ It’s not about how academic they are. It’s a really happy household, there’s always music on, there’s singing and dancing.” But she adds, she couldn’t do it all without the help of her devoted husband David Beckham.”He’s my soulmate…he inspires me every day. We’re lucky to have each other.”

While all of that’s great, there’s really only one question that everyone is dying to know, and that’s will there be a Spice Girls reunion? Unfortunately, however, Beckham only has bad news on that front, telling Savannah Guthrie, “There won’t be a reunion because I think that when we performed at the Olympics it was so great and that was us celebrating everything we’ve achieved. But I still talk to all the other girls, we’re still very close, but I think you need to know when it’s time to say, that was great, we achieved a lot, and everyone moves on.” Guthrie inquired, “So does that mean Posh is gone?” to which the former girl group member quipped, “I’ll always be Posh.”

David and Victoria Beckham are nothing but proud of their second child, Romeo James Beckham.

The couple welcomed their second son in September 2002, and he grew up to be a “kind” and “generous” young man. “We are so proud of you and we love you more than words can express, you are our everything,” Victoria wrote in a touching Instagram tribute for Romeo’s 21st birthday in 2023.

Like his parents, Romeo is fearless when pursuing his passions. He’s done some work in the modeling world for brands like Burberry and Vogue, but his true love appears to be athletics, like his father.

“I’ll always support the kids in whatever they want to do but I would love them to be footballers,” David told ESPN in 2007.

His dream came true in 2021 when Romeo joined Fort Lauderdale CF, the sister club of Inter Miami CF, co-owned by Beckham. He’s currently playing forward for Brentford B, a training group for the main Brentford FC.

Off the field, Romeo has a close relationship with his father. “Happy Father’s Day to the most talented and amazing dad there is. Love you so much,” he wrote on his Instagram Story in 2023.

Here’s everything to know about David and Victoria Beckham’s son, Romeo James Beckham.

    He was born in 2002

Romeo was born on Sept. 1, 2002, in Westminster, London, weighing 7 lbs., 4oz. He was welcomed at Portland Hospital, and “because [big brother] Brooklyn was a breech birth, [Victoria] had to have a cesarean section … under doctor’s orders,” a spokesperson told Daily Mail.

“He’s got Brooklyn’s nose and Victoria’s chin,” David told reporters shortly after Romeo’s birth. The proud father also shared that the moniker was “just a name we love,” per The Guardian.

Romeo is the second of four children. His big brother Brooklyn Beckham was born on March 4, 1999, and Romeo was followed by brother Cruz Beckham on Feb. 20, 2005, and sister Harper Beckham on July 10, 2011.

He dealt with health issues early in life

During the first few years of Romeo’s life, he experienced health issues and visited the hospital various times. David and Victoria later revealed that he had been diagnosed with epilepsy, a condition that causes seizures and convulsions.

Reacting to this news, the paparazzi agreed to stop photographing Romeo to avoid triggering the condition with the flashes.

Despite the health concerns, Romeo was a “happy boy,” according to David. “Romeo is the middle child, so he has a bit of a different personality … They’re great little boys,” he told ESPN at the time.

    He’s a seasoned model

Fitting for the son of a fashion designer and international style icon, Romeo became interested in the industry at a young age.

He made his modeling debut at 10 years old in a campaign for Burberry Kids in 2013, which also featured Cara Delevingne, after being named the face of the brand’s children’s line.

Romeo then landed his first magazine cover in 2021 when he shot for L’Uomo Vogue‘s Generation Issue. Famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott captured a blond Romeo in a variety of outfits and poses.

“Excited to share my first cover shoot for @luomovogue 😝,” he wrote on Instagram.

David shared his support, writing on his account, “So proud of you @romeobeckham ❤️ What an incredible first cover for @luomovogue.”

He’s pursuing a soccer career like his dad

Romeo made his first real foray into his dad’s sport when he enrolled at the Arsenal Football Club Academy at age 13, though he was released after a year. Romeo then tried his hand at tennis — even training alongside pros like Andy Murray — before returning to soccer at 19 as a member of the then-Fort Lauderdale CF.

The American team competes in League One of the United Soccer League, and he made his professional debut in September 2021 in a match against Tormenta FC. The team loaned him to Premier League Brentford’s B team, where he debuted in January 2023 with his dad on the sidelines.

“Happy to make my debut @brentfordbteam and get the win 🤩,” Romeo wrote on Instagram alongside photos from the game. In June, he signed a permanent deal to stay with the team on a one-year contract.

“I’m very proud and very happy to be here,” Romeo said in a clip posted to the Brentford website. “I came here at the start to keep fit during the off-season. The chance then came to come on loan here, and I’ve never been so excited.”

Aside from soccer, Romeo has enjoyed being athletic in other forms. At 12 years old, the star ran the London Marathon children’s race for charity while his parents cheered him on.

“We r so proud!! Romeo ran London mini Marathon for UNAIDS and 7 Fund x vb,” Victoria posted on Instagram. “Well done Romeo!!”

Romeo has been dating model Mia Regan since May 2019. The pair made their red carpet debut at the British Fashion Awards two years later.

Throughout their relationship, Romeo and Regan have frequently traveled the world together and documented their adventures on social media.

“Crazy how lucky I am with this person 🙂 @mimimoocher ♥️,” Romeo captioned an Instagram photo of them on a field.

Regan also often shares her love for Romeo on her Instagram, including a sweet tribute for his 19th birthday.

“4,500 miles away from you, yet still all the love in da world! Happy 19th Ro Ro💖💖💖💖 LOVE U 4 EVA,” she wrote beside an Instagram gallery of photos.

Romeo doesn’t pass up opportunities to celebrate the successes of his parents. When Victoria did a socially-distanced presentation of her spring/summer 2021 collection amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Romeo was by her side with David, Cruz and Harper.

“My favourite (and only) guests this season! 😂 love you all so much,” she captioned family photos on Instagram.

Romeo was also on the guest list at the London premiere of his father’s Netflix documentary, Beckham. “What can I say other than how proud I am of you @davidbeckham, such an amazing premiere 🤍 love my family so much,” Romeo wrote on Instagram.

The aspiring soccer star also enjoys having his parents’ support in whatever way it comes. Victoria joked that Romeo “used” her for TikTok fame after they made a Spice Girls dance video together. She recalled what happened behind the scenes during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019.

“He came home the other day and he said, ‘You know, Mom, I’ve just joined TikTok, will you do a dance with me?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, what should we dance to?’ He said the Spice Girls,” Victoria told host Ellen DeGeneres. “And then he took my phone, he posted it on my Instagram, and he said, ‘That’ll get my numbers up.’ ”

Still, the former pop star thought “it was a lot of fun” and voiced an observation. “But I have to say, I think that Romeo definitely takes after his dad with his moves,” she added.

Whether it’s rocking ‘90s fashion or bleach-blonde hair, Romeo has taken a lot of fashion inspiration from his father.

“Nice hair ❤️ @romeobeckham. I wonder where u got that idea from 😂,” David commented on Instagram after Romeo debuted a platinum buzz cut much like one he had himself.

Perhaps the biggest nod to his father’s style came in 2022 when Romeo showed off a neck tattoo inspired by his dad’s ink. Tattoo artist Dr. Woo added a cross with angel wings on Romeo’s neck, which matches a similar one his dad has.

For his part, David has a tattoo of his son’s name under the crucifix, according to Men’s Health.

Strictly Come Dancing is embroiled in another ‘fix’ row after EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick was called out as a winner of the Glitterball Trophy

Strictly Come Dancing is embroiled in another ‘fix’ row after EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick was called out as a winner of the Glitterball Trophy.

The 30-year-old soap star, dressed as Elton John including feather boa, was one of the highlights of the last night’s show as his quickstep impressed judges who have been accused of influencing viewers with them championing Jamie’s chances of winning the BBC dance show.

Jamie, who plays Jay Brown on Albert Square, has been charged by fans of having an unfair advantage after he won the Strictly Christmas Special with a similar dazzling quickstep routine. This time he was given an impressive score of 30 from the judges after his routine to Elton’s I’m Still Standing.

The Strictly judges were fulsome with their praise with Anton Du Beke declaring that Jamie must be in the mix to win. He said: “You know you really are a super super dancer. I think you could be one of the favourites to lift the trophy to be quite honest with you. I think you are an exceptional talent.”

Motsi Mabuse also believed that this was the case and added: “Yes, Anton, I think the Glitterball is quite close to you!” After the judges’ remarks, host Tess Daly said that this was strong affirmation of Jamie’s credentials for the overall win. Tess said: “Thank you judges. Two out of four mentioned the Glitterball… that’s big news!”

Viewers were quick to point out that Jamie had been given an ‘unfair advantage’. One criticised the dance choice on social media, posting: “The judges mentioning the glitterball after Jamie’s quickstep, the dance that won him the Christmas special last year. If that’s not a coincidence I don’t know what is.”

Jamie has also put to bed the rumours that he might about to fall for the Strictly curse by saying “nobody has to worry” as he gives a defiant response. Fans noticed there was chemistry between the EastEnders star and pro dancer Michelle Tsiakkas, but the actor quickly dispelled any chance of romance as he revealed his Michelle ‘mothers’ him.

Laughing, he told The Mirror: “The idea of that whole Strictly curse, well it’s definitely not going to be a thing here because it would be weird doing that with my sister. Michelle and I met before Strictly and we instantly had a connection. But she is like a sister, an aunt, a mum, a best friend. She’s looking after me, she’s mothering me.”

BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Nick Knowles forced to QUIT today’s live show after second injury

DIY SOS star Nick Knowles has been forced to pull out of Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing after he injured his knee in a shock fall during a rehearsal

BBC presenter Nick Knowles has sensationally pulled out of the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing live show.

The DIY SOS presenter has been forced to quit after picking up a second injury. Nick, 62, has reportedly found himself on crutches following a dress rehearsal disaster when he did a jump and took a bad landing.

This marks the second time misfortune has hit Nick during his time on Strictly after he previously hurt his shoulder and arm whilst changing a car tyre. An insider disclosed: “Nick won’t be able to take part in Strictly tomorrow night after hurting his knee.” They explained the unfortunate incident: “He was in a dress rehearsal with his dance partner Luba Mushtuk when he did a jump and landed awkwardly.”

The source went on to reveal that Nick is currently using crutches to get around is “being supported by the Strictly team” after the “devastating blow”. “They are sending him for scans and are doing everything they can to make sure he is okay,” the insider added before noting Nick being determined to fight and come back from this.

As to Nick’s spirits, the source told The Sun : “This new injury has been a real blow and he is incredibly upset about it. “Luba and Nick are hoping it is just something minor and that he can recover in time for next week.” Nick and Luba were scheduled to perform the Charleston to Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2 on Saturday for Movie Week.

Confirming the news to the Mirror, a spokesperson for Strictly stated: “Unfortunately, Nick Knowles sustained an injury during rehearsals and as a result, will not dance this weekend.” Clarifying the rules regarding Nicks situation, they concluded: “As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery.”

Nick himself also addressed the news to express how disappointed he was in his misfortune. Taking to X in the wake of his health update making headlines, the star wrote: “I’m absolutely gutted and feeling very very sad” – alongside a sad face emoji.

Appearing on Strictly’s It Takes Two tonight, Nick confirmed his future on the BBC show. He said: “During our rehearsal today… Unfortunately I damaged my knee and it’s quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for a MRI (scan).”

His professional partner, Luba Mushtuk added: “Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for next week and we’ll be back on the dancefloor. Fingers crossed, we really hope that we’ll be back and see you guys very soon.”

Trying to put a brave face on things, Nick added: “Even if we have to glitter up the crutches, I am determined to get back and try and dance for you next week.”

The 20th anniversary series of Strictly only kicked off a few weeks ago but this is already Nick’s second injury! The DIY guru was seen with his arm in a sling last week, having injured it while changing a car tyre and leaving him with only a few hours to prepare for his dance routine at the weekend.

nick and luba in a training room
Nick previously said getting a week off for injury was ‘cheating’
Speaking on BBC’s Morning Live this Tuesday, Nick confirmed that although the injury was still troubling him, there was daily improvement. He optimistically shared, “I’m a lot better. The arm’s getting stronger every day and I’m feeling better. The strength is getting better each day. We’ll need to build this dance a little but around it, but anyway, it’s not an excuse this week I’m either good enough or I’m not.”

Determined to compete, Nick revealed, “We were offered the chance of a bye but I felt like that would be cheating and we really should try and go for it. I spoke to the physios and once that was decided, you just throw yourself into it. The harder you work, the more confidence you gain.” He concluded with high praise for his dance partner, saying, “I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have Luba as my teacher, shaping me like a finely-tailored suit which I then make look like I’ve slept in it overnight.”

Nick has received praise for his recent dance, which included lifts despite his arm injury. He discussed how he and Luba must adapt their then upcoming performance to accommodate his injury. Nick hinted the now-scrapped dance would be a high-energy routine, saying: “The rehearsal is going very well. It could be a fast one or it could be a slow one but if you look at the state of me, if it’s a slow one, I’m in real trouble.” Luba expressed excitement about their routine, saying: “It is a really fun dance and we started this morning really, really strong.”

Exclusive: Nick Knowles has ‘no alternative’ as BBC update on star’s Strictly future and new blow emerges

The DIY SOS star’s future on the show lies with the tricky Charleston which is the hardest dance on the knees

A decision on whether injured Nick Knowles will be fit enough to take part in Strictly Come Dancing will be delayed until tomorrow to give him the best chance of staying in the competition.

But insiders say that the problem lies with the very dance that caused his injury in the first place – the Charleston – which is impossible to perform without lots of leg flicks and knee action. The DIY SOS star, 62, has returned to the training room today and has been given permission to dance the routine he’d already learned for Movie Week last Saturday.

He and his dance partner Luba Mushtuk are hoping he can recover enough to perform to Rain on the Roof from Paddington 2. But the Charleston can be particularly hard on the knees because of the continuous twisting and turning involved – plus the famous “knock knee” move which many of the routines use for comedy value.

The dance’s syncopated rhythm, inverted knees, and wild arm movements can actually lead to a painful condition known as “Charleston knee”. One show insider said there was no time for a new dance to be learned which might be gentler on his bad leg. “The plan is to rehearse today and Friday and then a final decision will be made about Saturday evening. He is going to try and do the routine he’d already learned for Movie Week. It’s unfortunate it’s a Charleston because it’s very hard to do without lots of knee action, but there is no alternative. Everyone has their fingers crossed for him.”

Nick was given a bye last week after being told he must rest his injured leg, but Strictly rules say each contestant is only allowed to miss one week through illness or injury before having to retire. Having rested since last Friday, the TV star was given the all-clear by the show’s medical and physio teams to attempt training today. Luba has promised to “go gentle” with him and has adapted the dance to make it as easy as possible.

With his future on the BBC show now hanging the balance, Knowles said he was determined to keep going and remains “very hopeful” that he’ll be dancing in the studio on Saturday night. He claimed that each day his leg felt “a little bit better”. Speaking on It Takes Two earlier this week, he said if he could make it through two days of training “it’s not necessarily the end of it”.

Inside training for week three of Strictly Come Dancing - Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk
Nick Knowles and Luba Mushtuk practise the Charleston which is very hard on the kneesWriting on Instagram he told Strictly fans: “I have to see how I get on – and then a decision will be made on Friday. I just wanted to take this moment to say thank you for all the well wishes that I’ve received and encouragement from everybody. And I’m hopeful that I will be dancing on Saturday.”
He hurt his leg in the last step of the dance as he rehearsed on Friday, when he “leapt” to be in the right position after arriving late to the beat. “My one leg stayed still, and the rest of me went through,” he explained, saying it had caused him to have “a bit of a collapse”. The TV handyman went for an MRI and has since been receiving daily treatment. The injury came after he previously performed with an injured arm having hurt his shoulder while changing a tyre on the side of the road. Now Nick says he’s “sick and tired” of hurting himself and just wants to get on with the dancing. One person who could benefit from his injury is footballer Paul Merson, who is heavily backed to be voted off this weekend, according to the bookies.
