Pour rappel, un cancer du poumon a été diagnostiqué chez Florent Pagny en 2022. Une épreuve que le chanteur a abordé avec force et courage, entouré de sa famille, et qui a été compliquée par des rechutes.

“Quand on est touché par cette maladie, même si à un moment les traitements font bien leur travail, elle a tendance à revenir, explique-t-il dans le podcast Addiktion annimé par le Dr Karila, addictologue que Medisite avait interrogé sur le sucre. Pour moi, elle est déjà revenue deux fois après la première, ça fait donc trois fois !”

Comme toutes les personnes soignées pour un cancer, surtout récidivant, Florent Pagny est depuis sous surveillance continue. Il devra contrôler la stabilité de la maladie tous les trois mois pendant 2 ans, puis tous les 6 mois pendant les 3 années qui vont suivre. “Quand on fait les contrôles et qu’ils sont stables, on se dit tout va bien, mais pour trois mois (jusqu’au prochain contrôle, NDLR). C’est un peu particulier, même si la santé va bien.”

L’immunothérapie, pour prévenir les récidives

Le cancer du poumon est le 3ème cancer le plus fréquent en France et reste la première cause de mortalité par cancer, rappelle l’Institut National du Cancer. Toutefois, l’arrivée des immunothérapies il y a quelques années a révolutionné la prise en charge et le pronostic. “Dans le cadre d’un cancer très localisé et avec une tumeur de petite taille, on peut aujourd’hui atteindre les 90% de survie à 5 ans grâce aux différents traitements”, se réjouit le Dr Bertrand Mennecier, pneumologue et oncologue thoracique au CHU de Nancy.

Ces nouvelles molécules, qui font “sauter le bouclier” immunitaire, permettent ainsi à notre organisme de se défendre lui-même contre le cancer.

Une révolution dans l’approche thérapeutique et une efficacité inégalée jusque-là, notamment sur les cancers du poumon dits “non à petites cellules”, qui représentent 80% des cas. D’autant que l’immunothérapie, généralement bien tolérée, s’accompagne souvent de moins d’effets secondaires qu’une chimiothérapie.

Cancer du poumon : l’immunothérapie en première intention

Même si les protocoles thérapeutiques sont bien évidemment adaptés à chaque patient, l’immunothérapie suivie seule ou combinée avec des traitements de chimiothérapie et/ou de radiothérapie est aujourd’hui la référence, le traitement de première intention pour la majorité des cancers du poumon.

Certains patients très réceptifs (ils sont de l’ordre de 25%) peuvent même se soigner avec l’immunothérapie seule. D’autres en revanche (parce qu’ils sont porteurs d’une maladie auto-immune par exemple) ne peuvent être soignés avec ces nouveaux traitements.

“Les patients sont toujours désolés quand ils n’ont pas accès à l’immunothérapie, explique encore le Dr Mennecier. Ils sont très demandeurs, car bien informés des atouts de ces traitements”.

D’autant que l’immunothérapie prévient efficacement les récidives, alors que les cancers localement avancés, sans doute le type de cancer dont souffre Florent Pagny compte tenu de son parcours, affichent un fort taux de récidive, de l’ordre de 50%.

Les plantes à la place de l’immunothérapie ?

Florent Pagny, lui, n’est pas traité par immunothérapie. “Là, il n’y a plus de traitement. Même l’immunothérapie. On s’est rendu compte un jour que ça ne marchait pas, il y avait des rechutes, on a laissé tomber” explique-t-il.

En revanche, il s’est tourné vers les médecines naturelles, en particulier, dit-il “la médecine chinoise”. Les plantes sont en effet très utilisées en médecine traditionnelle chinoise.

En revanche, ces soins de support peuvent soigner ou soulager des effets secondaires de la maladie ou des traitements mais ne peuvent évidemment pas remplacer l’immunothérapie (ou d’autres traitements conventionnels).

“Si l’immunothérapie ne fonctionne pas, précise encore le Dr Mennecier, on peut reprendre des protocoles de chimiothérapie ou se tourner vers des essais cliniques (vaccins par exemple) : de nouvelles molécules sont prometteuses dans les cas de résistance à l’immunothérapie.”

In the clip, Harry said: “That’s the hardest thing, I think, especially for kids – I don’t want to talk about it, it’s going to make me sad.

“But then realising that if I do talk about it and I’m celebrating their life then actually things become easier.

“You can’t suppress it for too long, it’s not sustainable. It will eat away at you inside.

“You convince yourself that the person you’ve lost wants you to be sad for as long as possible to prove to them that they are missed.

“But then there’s this realisation of, no, they must want me to be happy.”

Harry is an ambassador for the charity, which supports children who have lost their parents in the Armed Forces.

He spent the afternoon with 50 bereaved military children and young people at an event organised by the charity in May.

In the clip, Harry told Nikki: “What you have done is incredible. I mean, it is truly inspirational.”

He added: “I’m really honoured and privileged to be part of Scotty’s now.

“And I really look forward to us doing everything we can to bring in more people, more interest, raise more funds.

“To be able to get the message out there to get more kids the support they so desperately need.”

Harry comforted Nikki as she bravely recounted how she found out Lee had been killed while serving in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment.

Nikki said: “As I walked down the road, I saw two cars drive past me – I knew instantly something had happened to Lee.

“As I got to the door, I said ‘Are you looking for me?’ They said ‘Are you Corporal Lee Scott’s wife?’

“I said ‘Yeah I am’ – and my first thought was ‘Oh my God, the kids’.”

Harry asked: “How did you tell the kids?”

Nikki said: “It was the worst. Later that night, I sat my son Kai down on his bed.

“He was five. How do you tell a five-year-old this? I literally just shattered his world.”

Tearing up, she added: “He knew that life was never, ever going to be the same.

“It sounds so corny, but I started to think ‘How many children have had a parent who’s died?’”

Harry said: “There’s nothing corny about that.”

Nikki said: “We almost want to bring that military community back so you haven’t lost it.

“People still care – we can’t fix what’s happened, we can’t bring your parent back, but we can make sure you have the very best support.

“Because that’s what you guys deserve. Your parents served their country.”

In a new interview with Insider, Brooklyn insisted he is not fazed by the criticism as he knows himself he is ‘working his bum off’ and ‘cooking makes him happy’.

He said: ‘To be honest, I’m used to the hate. It doesn’t really bother me. Cooking makes me happy. I have more important things to worry about than people saying a little bit of rubbish about me…

‘My message to them is to keep writing whatever they want to write. There are always going to be people out there who try and pull you down.

‘I’m doing my thing and working my bum off. So they can keep writing what they want, but it’s not going to bother me — I’m just going to keep doing my thing’.

THE late Queen was still her incredible self in the lead up to her death, a royal expert who met Her Majesty a massive 40 times has revealed.

Queen Elizabeth died “peacefully” on September 8, 2022 aged 96 – with her final days spent having fun at Balmoral with family.

And in the months leading up to her death, the Monarch was the same she always had been, an expert says.

Royal historian and biographer Hugo Vickers says he’s met the Queen 40 times between 1968 and 2022 and still remembers the first time like it was yesterday.

He also remembers the last just as vividly.

Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, Hugo said: “I met the Queen 40 times between 1968 and 2022.

“The last time I saw her I was allowed to go and visit her in her opening of Windsor Castle in June of the the year she died.

“Now that was very special, I spent 15 minutes with her – she was firing on all cylinders, chatting away.

“We talked a lot about the fire restorarion and things to do with Windsor and St George’s Chapel and she was amazing.”

Hugo went on to relay the first time he met the Queen, when he was just a boy.

The expert told our Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson: “First time, when I was at school I used to show tourists around St George’s Chapel at Windsor on Sunday afternoons – it was open in those days.

“And one afternoon I was planted on a door where they were actually building the little tomb house for where the King and Queen Mother and where the Queen and Prince Philip are buried.

“There was a construction around a wooden door and the Queen just came around the corner and there she was. And then the Queen Mother – I got two of them in the same day.”

Hugo also told The Sun what Meghan Markle did to the late Queen was “unforgivable”.

When asked what did he think had been the biggest crisis in the Royal Family over the past 50 years, the expert initially pointed to the death of Diana.

Hugo said: “Well, 50 years doesn’t take in the abdication, so I suppose the death of Diana in 1997 was the big crisis point.

“But, at the risk of being controversial, will the arrival of Meghan Markle prove to be a bigger one in the long run? Who knows.”

Picking up on the theme, Matt agreed adding the time between the arrival of the Duchess of Sussex, everything changing and Meghan and Harry leaving to start a new life in California was a “huge crisis in the Royal Family”.

Hugo said: “I think it’s quite interesting all that because I was in Windsor the day they got married and the popularity and good will towards them was enormous.

“I don’t think it was the press, she succeeded in evading that very, very quickly.

“What I find unforgivable, is the stress she put on the late Queen in the last couple of years of her life.”

It comes after a historic memo claimed the Queen’s final moments were “painless”.

Speaking to Closer, Paul claimed: “He’s steering Kate into Diana’s footsteps.

“I see the way she dresses and the way she behaves, and if her mother-in-law could say anything, she would tell her that she’s doing an incredible job because she’s never put a foot wrong and the country adores her.”

The former butler claimed that Prince William is “fiercely protective” over Princess Kate, and it “absolutely” comes from losing Diana when he was aged 15.

Paul added: “With William by her side, Kate’s safe because he will take care of her and would never let anyone harm her.”

This follows Princess Diana‘s brother praising Kate’s “incredible strength and poise” after her shock cancer news.

Kate spoke about the “huge shock” after tests identified cancer following her abdominal surgery and the “incredibly tough couple of months” her family have experienced.

Earl Charles Spencer has taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share Kate’s touching video statement posted on the KensingtonRoyal account.

Reposting the footage, he penned: “Incredible strength and poise.”

Kate has remained absent from any official duties following major abdominal surgery in January.

Her diagnosis is the second cancer shock to hit the royal family in as many months after King Charles revealed he was also undergoing treatment.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement that the King was “so proud” of Kate for “speaking as she did” and remains in the “closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law”.

Kate said the family now needs “time, space and privacy” while she completes her treatment.

Editor-in-Chief of Majesty magazine, Ingrid Seward explained Diana would have “recognised how good Kate is” for William if she had had the chance to meet her.

Speaking to the Daily Mail alongside several of Diana’s friends and close confidantes, Seward revealed: “I think she would have been very fond of Kate because she does everything right and looks gorgeous.

“And I think she would have recognised how good Kate is for William because William is emotional and difficult.”

The author also claimed Diana would have been a fantastic grandma.

“The Goddess Grandmother, definitely. I think she would have been a little bit wary of Kate’s mother though, she would’ve sized her up straight away,” she added.

Steadfast when his family needed him, William has proved himself as a man and future monarch of strength and compassion.

While he might not have been present during Kate’s courageous video address — make no mistake, he has been by her side every step of the way.

William has stepped up with school-run duties and provided a “great source of comfort and reassurance” to his wife.

But he has also been a comforting and reassuring presence for the public.

From leading members of the Royal Family at the Commonwealth Day Service to enjoying cheerful banter with youngsters on a youth centre visit, he hasn’t put a foot wrong.

Even then there were few chinks in his facade — but Kate was clearly on his mind.

William must feel the weight of enormous responsibility, both personally and for the monarchy, of which he is now the public face.

But he knows his most important role is that of dad and husband.

He will make that his priority.

This is a distinct difference from the ways of the past, where your royal role came before the role of spouse and parent.

Think back to when the Queen was young.

William’s priority is his family

It was a man’s world then — and she was forced to abandon her children in a way that William is determined not to.

William and Kate waited until the school term was over and their children were home before making their public announcement.

They needed to be prepared.

In this, they will have had the wholehearted support of Charles — who knows what it feels like to be brought up by nannies.

William was also acutely aware of the lack of his own father’s presence in his life, especially when things went wrong.

In 1991, he was accidentally hit over the head with a golf club when he was at school and Diana was having lunch in her favourite restaurant San Lorenzo.

The call came through that William had been bashed on the head and they thought he might die so it was very serious.

Both Charles and Diana rushed down to Ludgrove.

William was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital and then to Great Ormond Street Hospital and Diana went with him.

But ever a man of duty, Charles prioritised his engagements.

William is determined to do things differently.

Diana was tragically killed in a car accident in Paris, in August 1997, when Prince William was 15 and Prince Harry just 12 years old.

In the past, both Harry and Will have spoke out about their doting mum, with Harry revealing in 2010 that whatever he and William do, they wonder what Diana would be doing if she “was with us now”.

Speaking to ITV, the prince said: “Every day, I know I do and I’m sure William does as well, whatever we do, wherever we are and whoever we’re with I particularly always wonder what she’d think, what she’d be doing if she was with us now,” he said.

“If she’d be sitting here having a laugh, whether she’d be in the background sticking her tongue out or whether she’d be playing football with the children.

“That’s what keeps us going every day – that thought of what would she be like if she was around today.”

Prince William has previously spoken about how he would have loved Diana to have met Kate.

“Time makes it easier. I still miss my mother every day — and it’s 20 years after she died,” he said in 2016.

“I would love her to have met Catherine and to have seen the children grow up. It makes me sad that she won’t, that they will never know her,” he told GQ a year later.
