Meghan Markle is set to launch a major charm offensive in the hope of rebuilding connections in Hollywood, an insider has claimed.

An insider told Closer Magazine a “lonely” Duchess of Sussex will plan to strengthen her friendships this festive season. They said: “Meghan has been meticulously curating gift packages filled with a selection of all her favourite things – and of course, plenty of her jam – to send to the who’s who of Hollywood.

“While there is no doubt it’s about promoting her American Riviera Orchard brand, it’s also about spreading goodwill and trying to remind people of her softer side. With Christmas around the corner, Meghan sees it as the perfect time to try to rebuild connections and is determined not to start 2025 surrounded by negativity.”

They added she has been feeling “increasingly lonely” and wants to concentrate on “strengthening friendships”.

Since the soft launch of her brand ‘American Riviera Orchard’, in March 2024, Meghan has sent samples in the form of jam to Hollywood’s biggest power players.

The insider said: “She’s sending them out to all her friends and acquaintances, and is willing to spend a fortune and a whole lot of time because she sees it as an investment in her relationships.”

However, as in many new businesses, the duchess’s launch has suffered many setbacks, with the latest one in September reportedly involving “irregularities” with its trademark and its registration to the US Patents and Trademarks Office – the agency responsible for granting US patents and registering trademarks.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer senior working members of the Royal Family, but this does not mean they are banned from Christmas at Sandringham.

The couple, who last spent Christmas with the Royal Family in 2018, have opted to spend the festive season overseas for the last five years, especially since they relocated to the US in 2020.

While they could return to the country for the festive season, this is unlikely to happen for a number of reasons, with one being the ongoing rifts between the Duke of Sussex and some members of his family, including his brother Prince William.

Another reason for their absence is the ongoing concerns Harry feels about his family’s security, particularly his wife Meghan Markle. The prince had once vowed that he would not bring his family to the UK until the issue of security was sorted.

When talking about the upcoming festive period, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Express.co.uk: “The idea of them spending Christmas with the Royal Family is rather terrifying. Not everyone is lucky enough to relax during the festive season, and if the Sussexes were there no one could.”

While they may not have yet had an invite to Sandringham, the family were invited to spend Christmas elsewhere in the UK.

According to a source, the Duke of Sussex was invited to bring his wife and children to Althorp House, the childhood home of Princess Diana, Harry’s mother.

Earl Charles Spencer, Harry’s close uncle, lives in the property and is believed to have invited the duke for the holidays. However, it is expected that the couple will instead stay firmly put in America over the holiday season

Prince Harry has issued a rare statement to honour veterans this Armistice Day.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, reaffirmed his “lifelong admiration and appreciation” for their “service and sacrifice” in a rare statement on Monday, marking Remembrance Day in the UK and Veterans Day in the US.

The duke, who served in the army for 10 years and fought in Afghanistan, praised veterans’ for having played a “vital role in defending the values of liberty, freedom, and security”, saying: “These values bind us together and have shaped you as leaders and role models.”

The prince wrote: “My Fellow Veterans, As we mark both Veterans Day and Remembrance Day, I reaffirm my lifelong admiration and appreciation for the service and sacrifice you and your families have made – both in times of conflict and peace.

“You have played a vital role in defending the values of liberty, freedom, and security. These values bind us together and have shaped you as leaders and role models.

“At a time of global uncertainty, remember the unity and purpose that defined your service, and do not hesitate to put that into action in your communities. That same spirit should guide all of us in facing today’s challenges.

An Argentinian waiter accused of being Liam Payne’s drug dealer today broke his silence to insist he had done nothing wrong.

Braian Nahuel Paiz, who was identified in an ongoing prosecution probe, admitted to two hotel meetings with the 31-year-old before his fatal October 16 plunge and confessed to taking drugs with him.

But he insisted he never supplied Liam with narcotics or accepted any money from him.

The 24-year-old said he spent the night with the former One Direction singer at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires during a second rendezvous.

Paiz, who appeared on Argentinian TV on Saturday, claimed that he first met Liam at the restaurant where he worked in the upmarket neighbourhood of Puerto Madero. He said he exchanged contact details with the singer as he dined with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and two other people.

He spoke in an on-camera interview to journalist Guillermo Panizza, who at points had to clarify to a programme host in the studio what Paiz meant to say when the young man’s nerves seemed to get the better of him.

After first bumping into Liam at the restaurant where he worked, Paiz said he next saw him on October 2 at an arranged meeting at a hotel where the singer was staying.

‘I never supplied Liam with drugs,’ he said. ‘Liam’s first contact with me was at my place of work.

‘We swapped details and saw each other later that night. It was all normal. He came down from his hotel room to fetch me because I had got lost.’

Naming the hotel where they first arranged to meet as the ‘Hyatt in Palermo’, he added: ‘We got together there and he showed me some of the music he was going to bring out.

‘I’ve heard people saying he was taking drugs but the truth is that when he got to the restaurant where I was working he was already under the effects of drugs and he didn’t actually eat anything.

‘There was a moment when he approached me and asked me for my contact details. I gave him an Instagram and afterwards he sent me messages because he wanted to take drugs although he had already consumed narcotics.

‘It was October 2. While I was in his room we had some whisky shots.’

Paiz said they next met on October 13 at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, three days before Liam’s death.

‘We spent the night together, we consumed drugs because the truth is that something intimate happened, he said.

‘He wasn’t aggressive at all, he behaved really well with me, he was really sweet. He asked me if I was okay.

‘I’ve got all the messages where we arranged that second meeting. I haven’t erased anything.’

Paiz claimed he did not take any cash from the singer.

‘We took drugs together but I never took drugs to him or accepted any money,’ he said.

‘I have messages where he’s offering me money because he was apparently used to offering money for everything but I never accepted anything.

‘When I left he wanted to give me some clothes so that I had a memory of being with him but I left it behind the TV because I didn’t want to take it. It was some grey jogging bottoms and a T-shirt.

‘I told Liam a best friend of mine wanted to meet him because he was a fan. He said ”yes” and after I went he appeared outside the place where I lived and managed to get halfway into the building and wanted us to go back to his hotel but I told him I couldn’t because I had to go to work.

‘I was due to start at 11.30am but I had to arrive beforehand. That was the last time I saw him. He got into his taxi and left.’

Paiz, who is said to have been sacked from his job after his implication in the ongoing criminal probe, is the second person linked to Liam to speak out.

Liam’s close friend Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores protested his innocence after being named locally last week as one of the trio under investigation.

Responding to the reports which identified him as one of the suspects linked to the drug accusations and allegations he abandoned Liam before his death, the businessman – who has previously been described as the singer’s manager – said: ‘I never abandoned Liam, I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened.

‘There were over 15 people at the hotel lobby chatting and joking with him when I left. I could have never imagined something like this would happen.

‘I’ve given my statement to the prosecutor on October 17 as a witness and I haven’t spoken to any police officer or prosecutor ever since.

‘I wasn’t Liam’s manager. He was just my very dear friend.’

He added: ‘I’m really heartbroken with this tragedy, and I’ve been missing my friend every day.’

The third suspect, who is yet to speak in public, has been named locally as a hotel worker called Ezequiel David Pereyra, 21.

Prosecutors said in their lengthy statement released last Thursday that three men they did not identify by name were now being formally investigated on suspicion of abandoning a person who subsequently died and supplying and facilitating drugs.

The statement described one as the person who ‘routinely accompanied Liam during his stay in Buenos Aires.’

Tests have shown the 31-year-old took alcohol and cocaine before he died and also had traces of an antidepressant in his system.

Prosecutors also made it clear the idea Liam had committed suicide had been ruled out and said he was in a state of ‘semi or total unconsciousness’ as he fell to his death when he ‘didn’t know what he was doing.’

They said of the hotel worker and the alleged ‘drug dealer’: ‘The second suspect is a hotel employee who must respond for two proven supplies of cocaine to Liam Payne during the time he was in the hotel.

‘The third is also a drug dealer who is being investigated on suspicion of another two clearly proven supplies of cocaine at two different times on October 14.’

It emerged over the weekend that Argentinian police are still hunting Liam’s missing Rolex watch.

‘He had it in one of his hands and he had it at least two to three hours before his fatal hotel fall.

‘We looked for it in his hotel room and couldn’t find it.

‘The watch was searched for in the homes of the three people being investigated on suspicion of abandoning Liam and the supply and facilitation of drugs, as well as in the homes of the two female escorts who were with him in his room the afternoon he died.

‘The room is still sealed off by court order and no- one can enter.’

Liam’s father Geoff flew to Argentina two days after his son died and returned to the UK with his body last Thursday to help finalise funeral arrangements following a second visit to the makeshift shrine set up by fans outside the singer’s hotel.

The funeral is expected to take place in Liam’s home town of Wolverhampton.

Then it’s on to the lunch outside dining area ‘which is super fun because I actually love barbecuing, I’m not going to lie. I love burgers, hate hotdogs.’

Back inside, it’s up the carpeted staircase to show off the walk-in closet showing some clothes already racked ‘but not fully moved in yet – we are working on it’.

Kate had originally planned to stay in South America longer but said on social media before the tragedy that she was ‘so ready to leave’.

‘I don’t know. Like young moms are a thing. I’m like, am I “giving” mom?’ She then coquettishly turns, gives a little back kick with one leg and adds: ‘Maybe like milf…I don’t know, it’s just like, do I really look that old. I don’t understand.

‘How do I make myself look younger. Mom, mommy? I’ll take that as a compliment I guess.’

On the same day she filmed from her car eating a salad she’d bought from a nearby Publix supermarket ‘because I can’t wait 10 minutes to get home’.

Liam’s previous properties have included a $10.2million mansion in Calabasas, California, which he sold in 2021.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to face a royal Christmas snub for one “terrifying” reason, according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams.

It has been reported that Harry and Meghan have not received an invite to spend Christmas with the Royal Family at the Sandringham estate – an annual tradition also previously upheld by the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Although they are not expected to be there, Mr Fitzwilliams said just the idea of it is “rather terrifying” due to how it would likely affect other members of the Royal Family.

He told Express.co.uk: “The idea of them spending Christmas with the Royal Family is rather terrifying. Not everyone is lucky enough to relax during the festive season, and if the Sussexes were there no one could.”

This year would mark the sixth Christmas that both Harry and Meghan have spent apart from the royals should the Sussexes not travel to the UK for the holidays. They last spent time at Sandringham in December back in 2018 – just seven months after they tied the knot in Windsor.

To mark their son’s first Christmas back in 2019, Meghan and Harry took Prince Archie, then aged seven months, to Vancouver Island.

By Christmas 2020, the family had moved to the US – where they now reside in Montecito, California.

Recently speaking to GB News, Charlotte Griffiths – who is the Editor at Large at the Mail on Sunday – claimed that, if Christmas in the UK were an option for the Sussexes, it would likely see only Harry travelling.

She said: “I do think Harry is going to come over to the UK more and more. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he came over at Christmas, but he will be coming on his own.

“I think there’s no way Meghan will come over. It might be that they spend Christmas in Portugal and he nips over to see the family.

Discussing Sandringham, she appeared to agree with Mr Fitzwilliam’s comment that the family would not be able to relax with Harry and Meghan present.

She added: “I don’t think he’s usually invited to Balmoral. They don’t feel they can relax when he’s at Balmoral with them, so I don’t think he’ll pop up there.”

Royal expert and historian Richard Fitzwilliams believes it is “unlikely” that the Duke of Sussex will appear at this poignant yearly event as a working royal ever again.

Prince Harry is “unlikely” to ever make another appearance at the National Service of Remembrance held at the Cenotaph every year, according to a royal commentator.

As the King stepped out alongside other senior members of the Royal Family at yesterday’s service, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle were noticeably absent once again. The couple, who got married in 2018, announced their plans to step back from royal duties in 2020 and have since been living in the US with their two children. This move led to the Duke of Sussex having to relinquish his military patronages and renounce the right to wear his military uniform at events.

Discussing Harry, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News: “I quite honestly think that it’s probably unlikely that we will see him at The Cenotaph again. On the other hand, the Sussexes are unpredictable and so is life, so who knows? Of course, this is tremendously unfortunate, and when they stepped down the senior working royals, that was their decision to go to California, and that means that he can’t wear a uniform, and it means he has no military patronages.”

He added: “Clearly, it is upsetting, and I think he will unquestionably miss it. The main commemoration is obviously tremendously moving, and he will clearly in a sense wish he were part of it.”

While the King – who will celebrate his 76th birthday later this week – was present at Sunday’s service, Queen Camilla was absent due to a chest infection.
