Ruth Langsford’s ‘challenge’ with Eamonn Holmes and why she had to ‘rein him in’

Ex This Morning presenters Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes announced their split back in May after 14 years of marriage

Ruth Langsford previously got candid about the ups and downs of working with her now estranged husband Eamonn Holmes. The pair, who announced their separation in May, were the faces of ITV’s This Morning for 15 years before Eamonn moved onto GB News.

After his exit, Ruth continued her roles on Loose Women and QVC. At the time when she was still co-hosting with Eamonn, Ruth revealed why it was “exciting but dangerous” to work with her husband.

She said: “He’s quite exciting to work with but also dangerous but, [why] I think we compliment each other in that way, is that he is kind of a maverick and he flies by the seat of his pants. You’re never sure where he’s going with something. I’ll start to read something and he’ll read it, where it says my name.

“He doesn’t stick to anything and I quite like that as I tend to be safer. But also, I rein him in sometimes, sometimes he needs reining in.

“We’re like Yin and Yang really, we feed off each other, we both bring different qualities and skills and personality to the same job.”

On Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast, she further described co-presenting as “really difficult”, reports the Express.

“It’s a lovely experience,” she explained. “But, it can be challenging because you’ve got to let that other person in, they might take an interview in a way that you weren’t going to take it.

“And, I’ve seen that with Eamonn so many times, because really, he prefers to work alone.”

In addition to This Morning, the duo have co-hosted the Channel 5 shows Do the Right Thing and Eamonn and Ruth: How the Other Half Lives over the years.

Their on-screen collaboration has given viewers a glimpse into their seemingly strong relationship, which came to an end in May.

Ruth is yet to comment on their split, but Eamonn has expressed his gratitude to fans for their support live on his GB News show.

When The Mirror recently asked him about their break-up, he said: “I’m not okay. This is not a good time at all.”

On whether they could remain friends after their split, he added: “It’s too early to say, but I hope we can still be friends.”

After taking an extended break following their break-up, Ruth returned to Loose Women earlier this week, still wearing her wedding ring.

Body language expert Darren Stanton believes the presenter may be waiting until their divorce is finalised before she removes it.

After photos of Ruth smiling surfaced shortly after the news, he commented: “It’s almost like the last remnants of the relationship.

“I think the smile is more of a masking smile, as we know, the most faked emotion is happiness and joy – which sometimes masks nerves.”

Strictly chaos backstage as Amy Dowden was in ‘huge distress’ moments before collapse

Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden was in ‘huge distress’ after falling ill over the weekend. An ambulance was called as a ‘precaution’

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden was in ‘huge distress’ in the moments before she reportedly collapsed backstage over the weekend.

The professional dancer, 34, and JLS star JB Gill performed a foxtrot to Toploader’s Dancing In The Moonlight and impressed the judges enough to received a respectable score of 32. However, moments after the live performance, Amy started to feel ill and an ambulance was called ‘as a precaution’.

A representative for the star later said she was ‘feeling much better’ and thanked fans for their messages of concern. She wasn’t able to film for the results show, which aired on Sunday night. Hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly said to viewers: “Before we get started, Amy isn’t able to be with us for tonight’s show.”

The JLS star was seen on his own on the staircase as it was announced he was going through to next week for the couple’s choice. A source recently claimed that Amy – who has been battling cancer and has Crohn’s Disease – could be removed from the show for her health.

Speaking about Amy’s health scare, the source added to The Sun: “Amy was obviously in huge distress. Everyone around her was equally upset because they felt so helpless. JB had to be given a hug. Even the medic who first attended to Amy needed support and consolation”

A representative for Amy said of her recent absence: “Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. She is feeling much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. We request Amy’s privacy in matters of health is kindly respected.”

A spokesperson the East of England Ambulance Service also said: “We were called just after 9pm on Saturday to attend a medical emergency at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient, an adult female, was taken to Barnet Hospital for further care.”

If Amy leaves the show to focus on her health, which professional dancer would be most likely to replace her. For this year’s series, dancer Lauren Oakley is the only female Strictly star not to be assigned a partner. Lauren joined the BBC competition in 2022, the same year as Vito Coppola, Carlos Gu and Michelle Tsiakkas. She didn’t have a partner for her first series and was only in the group routines.

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden missed the results show after feeling ill. It has been said she could be forced to leave the BBC dance competition

Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden concerned fans after she had to skip the results show after reportedly collapsing backstage the day before.

On Saturday, Amy and her celebrity dance partner JB Gill received a score of 32 after performing a foxtrot to Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader. Moments after the live performance, it is believed she started to feel ill. Her representatives confirmed an ambulance was called ‘as a precaution’ and that she was ‘feeling much better’.

However, a source claimed that the star, who has been battling cancer for almost two years and also has Crohn’s Disease, could be forced to quit the series. Another professional could temporarily replace the star if she’s ill. If Amy leaves the show to focus on her health, another professional dancer would most likely replace her.

For this year’s series, dancer Lauren Oakley is the only female Strictly star not to be assigned a partner. In 2023, she was partnered with news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy and came in eighth place with him. After performing on stage on Saturday, it was revealed an ambulance was called when Amy started feeling ill.

A representative for Amy said: “Amy was feeling unwell and so an ambulance was called as a precaution. Her dance partner JB talked about Amy while she was absent from the results show. Asked by host Claudia Winkleman how happy, on behalf of them both, he was feeling about not falling into the dreaded bottom two, JB said: “Honestly, I’m beside myself and Amy of course is gonna be so happy that we’re through to icons week. It’s an amazing feeling.” He also revealed that he will be performing a medley nexr week for couple’s choice week.

  • QUEEN’S FINAL BLOW! Prince Harry Left With NOTHING In Royal Inheritance—His Name Missing From Will!

QUEEN’S FINAL BLOW! Prince Harry Left With NOTHING In Royal Inheritance—His Name Missing From Will!

The recent revelation that Prince Harry has been excluded from Queen Elizabeth II’s will has intensified public discussion about his estrangement from the royal family. In a surprising move, King Charles published the Queen’s will, marking a significant break from royal tradition, where wills are typically kept private for many years. This decision symbolizes King Charles’s commitment to transparency as he leads the monarchy into a new era, while also sending a strong message about the importance of duty and loyalty within the royal family.

Queen Elizabeth announces 'period of transition' for Prince Harry and Meghan after meeting at Sandringham - Good Morning America

Prince Harry’s exclusion from the will highlights the continuing rift between him and the rest of the royal family. His choice to step away from royal duties and relocate to the United States with Meghan Markle, along with their public criticisms of the monarchy, has had lasting consequences, both personally and financially. Many view Harry’s departure as a turning point, contrasting his actions with the steady commitment to royal responsibilities displayed by his brother William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

The decision to leave Harry out of the will underscores Queen Elizabeth’s belief in prioritizing duty over personal ambitions. This exclusion reflects the view that royal inheritance and privileges are closely tied to a life of service. William and Kate, often seen as embodying the future of the monarchy, have remained dedicated to upholding the royal family’s values, showing grace and responsibility during tumultuous times, including the family’s internal struggles with Harry and Meghan.

Prince Harry may have jeopardised his £7m inheritance from Queen Mother, expert claims - Daily Record

The public release of the Queen’s will also signals a broader effort by King Charles to modernize the royal family’s image. By making such a significant and transparent decision, Charles is setting the tone for his reign—one where duty is central, and those who step away from it must face the consequences. This approach reflects the monarchy’s resilience, showing its capacity to adapt to modern challenges while maintaining its long-standing traditions.

Moreover, the contrast between William and Kate’s behavior and Harry and Meghan’s choices is frequently highlighted in public discourse. William and Kate’s calm demeanor and focus on service emphasize their role as future leaders of the monarchy, while Harry and Meghan’s attempts to balance public life with privacy, coupled with their Hollywood ventures, have distanced them from their royal heritage.

Ultimately, the decision to exclude Harry from the will sends a clear message about the consequences of stepping away from royal duties. It not only affects Harry and Meghan’s standing within the family but also impacts their children, who will grow up distanced from their royal roots. As King Charles continues to redefine the monarchy’s direction, this moment underscores a shift towards clarity, purpose, and the prioritization of royal responsibilities for future generations.

  • Meghan Markle’s Grand Piano Gift from Tyler Perry: Old Olive Garden Photos Reveal the Truthza

Meghan Markle’s Grand Piano Gift from Tyler Perry: Old Olive Garden Photos Reveal the Truthza

It seems that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are once again in the limelight, this time due to the story of a grand piano supposedly gifted to them by Tyler Perry. According to Meghan, this piano was presented as a housewarming gift for their luxurious Montecito home.

However, it turns out that this gift might be more of a tale than a genuine offering. In reality, the grand piano was already part of the home when they bought it. Meghan, who has previously claimed to have faced objectification during her time on *Deal or No Deal*, has spun a narrative about receiving a gift that was essentially just another piece of furniture left behind by the former owners.

One can’t help but wonder if she’s continuing the same victim narrative she has been promoting since joining the royal family.

Speaking of their residence, the Olive Garden Mansion— a name that invites thoughts of hearty breadsticks—holds a few surprises within its walls. For instance, there’s a stripper pole in the saloon-style gym.

While some may argue it’s merely another form of exercise, it’s hard not to chuckle at the juxtaposition: here’s a woman who once bemoaned her objectification now living in a home that seems to scream, “Welcome to my bimbo fantasy.” The mansion features dated decor that looks like it was taken straight from the retirement home of a wealthy octogenarian—definitely not the modern aesthetic one might expect.

Amid the laughs and eye rolls, the question arises: what on earth are Meghan and Harry doing in this house? They’ve made grand statements about their lavish lives and future plans, yet they haven’t even changed the flocked wallpaper in the screening room. Could it be that their finances are more strained than they’d like to admit?

The reality check hits hard when you consider that maintaining such a vast property comes with hefty bills that don’t seem to align with their current cash flow situation.

While they tout stories about buying land in Portugal to appear more cosmopolitan, one can’t shake the feeling that it’s all smoke and mirrors. If you squint hard enough, you might see the signs of a struggling couple trying to maintain an image that simply doesn’t add up.

Remember Harry’s admission in *Spare* about his musical challenges? I’d wager the only sound that piano could produce is the echo of silence, much like their uncertain financial future. Let’s not overlook the supposed grandeur of their chicken coop, which they’ve paraded around as a modern art installation. One would expect more from a property of that size than just a clucking barnyard.Where are the lavish pool parties and extravagant terraces? It seems as if they’re trying to convince us they actually live there, but every glimpse we get reveals empty rooms and neglected spaces.

There’s even speculation that they might not be living in the Olive Garden Mansion at all. Early listings suggested that this property could also be rented out for events.

Given their financial circumstances, it’s hard to dismiss the theory that they might be using it merely as a backdrop for their Netflix aspirations rather than as a true home.

The maintenance alone for this estate could easily cost upwards of a million dollars a year. With Harry and Meghan’s income streams drying up faster than you can say “Spotify,” one must wonder: was this truly a wise investment, or just a desperate attempt to prove something to the world?

  • Is it time for Meghan to follow the example of other American women who married into royalty

Is it time for Meghan to follow the example of other American women who married into royalty

Slammed by ex-Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown as having ‘the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world’, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, appears to be attracting yet more negative publicity.

Described as headstrong and ungovernable, the Duchess was summed up by Ms Brown in a new podcast:’The trouble with her is that she has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world. She’s flawless about getting it all wrong. She really is.’

So maybe this is the moment for Meghan to follow the example of the thirty-plus American women who married into royalty in the past – those who remained dignified and left behind a good mark on the world.

*The most fabled of all is Philadelphia-born Grace Kelly, who brought glamour, fame, and an effortless ease to the throne of Monaco in the 1950s.

An Oscar-winning actress, she’s best remembered for her part in the Alfred Hitchcock movies Rear Window and To Catch A Thief. She married Prince Rainier III in 1956 and became a model princess, creating and supporting countless charities before her tragic death in a car crash in 1982.

*But for the ousting of the country’s monarchy in 1973, London-born U.S. heiress Marie-Chantal Miller would now be Queen of Greece. The 56-year old beauty, daughter of billionaire businessman Robert Miller, met Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, son and heir of ex-King Constantine, in 1994 and they married the following year.

Now based in New York, she believes in behaving correctly at all times, especially (take note, Meghan) towards her royal in-laws. Mother of five, she says, “We sometimes forget to be caring towards others — and that’s where manners fundamentally start.”

*Lisa Halaby was born in Washington DC, the daughter of a US test pilot, airline executive and government official. A Princeton graduate, she worked as a town planner before meeting the widowed King Hussein of Jordan in Amman in 1978, taking the title Queen Noor when they married.

As queen, she created a vast charitable organisation in her her husband’s name, while her international work focuses on environmental issues with the emphasis on water and ocean health. Now aged 73, she has been a widow since her husband’s death in 1999.

*New York-raised Angela Brown – now Princess Angela – became the first woman of primarily African descent to marry into a reigning European dynasty when she married Prince Maximilian of Leichtenstein in January 2000.

She studied fashion at the exclusive Parsons School of Design in New York before her 2000 wedding. Mother of one, her charitable work includes promoting biodiversity and conservation in Panama, and supporting local artisans.

*“Love Goddess” Rita Hayworth may not have done so much in the charitable field but she was an even bigger star than Grace Kelly, appearing in 61 films in 37 years during Hollywood’s Golden Age. Born in Brooklyn, the daughter of two dancers, she was raised the hard way but rose to become Fred Astaire’s favourite dance partner.

She married Napoleon Bonaparte’s kid brother Jerome in 1803 when he was hiding in the States to escape his brother’s wrath after a failed military action.

Barbara Hutton married 7 times including Princes Alexis of Mdivani of Russia, Prince Igor Troubetzkoy and Prince Raymond Doan

All these appear women to have achieved more in life with their royal marriages than Meghan Markle has so far managed – but the Duchess doesn’t quite come bottom of the list of dud American princesses.

That position is reserved for Barbara Hutton, the celebrated grand-daughter of five-and-dime czar Frank W. Woolworth. Dubbed the “Poor Little Rich Girl”, she was at one stage the wealthiest woman in the world – so when she married the film star Cary Grant they were known as Cash’nCary.

Caught Red-Handed! Hugh Grant SLAMS Harry in Explosive ITV Interview!

In a surprising turn of events, renowned British actor Hugh Grant made headlines for his recent ITV interview, where he allegedly voiced sharp criticisms directed at Prince Harry. The conversation quickly went viral as Grant, known for his outspoken views on privacy and celebrity culture, delved into the issues he perceives with Harry’s handling of his public and private life.

During the interview, Grant reportedly expressed disappointment with what he called the “exploitation of personal struggles for public gain,” a statement many interpret as directed at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s series of high-profile media appearances. The actor, who has been a vocal critic of media intrusion into personal lives, argued that Harry’s decision to share private family matters publicly seemed contradictory. Grant, who has himself been the target of intense media scrutiny over his career, reportedly suggested that Harry’s approach might be “detracting from his original intentions of shedding light on mental health and familial rifts.”

The remarks come after Harry and Meghan’s series of interviews and a high-profile docuseries, which raised discussions about their relationship with the royal family and their struggles with the British press. Grant’s unexpected comments have added fuel to the already intense public debate surrounding the couple’s approach to balancing their quest for privacy with their openness in the media. His criticism sparked further reactions on social media, with some supporters of the couple calling Grant’s views “hypocritical” given his history with the tabloids, while others sided with him, appreciating his perspective on maintaining boundaries.

Grant’s explosive comments have certainly revived questions about the line between privacy and publicity for public figures, especially those connected to the royal family. Whether Harry will respond to Grant’s pointed remarks remains to be seen, but the public and media alike are watching closely for any new developments.

Meghan Markle proudly revealed: “Kate Middleton has always been jealous of me; she just wants me to be hated by the whole country”

Meghan Markle is not close with Princess Kate, with one royal expert suggesting the Duchess of Sussex was “jealous” of her sister-in-law.

    Meghan and Kate

Author Ingrid Seward said Meghan is likely to have been “incredibly envious” of Kate and the relationship she had with Prince Harry. In his debut memoir Spare, Harry gushed over Kate and described her as “the sister I’ve never had and always wanted”.

Ingrid said: “I think he just adored her [Kate] and he was always there, at Kensington Palace.” Now, relationship expert Louella Alderson has given some insight into why Meghan might have been envious of the Princess of Wales.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: “It’s likely that Meghan felt a sense of competition with Kate. She seems to have a competitive streak and enjoys being in the spotlight.

“The constant media attention and comparisons being made between the two women may have added to the feelings of competition. No matter how secure and confident one may be, being compared to someone else on a regular basis can be challenging. Kate is adored by the public, which may have caused Meghan to feel like she had to live up to a certain standard.”

She suggested this sense of competition could have translated into jealousy. Louella suggested: “Seeing Harry’s close relationship with Kate could have triggered feelings of envy and insecurity for Meghan, making her feel like she had to compete for his attention and affection.”

Louella added: “Constant competition and comparison with someone, especially when they are close family, can create a toxic dynamic and make it difficult for two people to have a genuine connection. It’s possible that Meghan’s jealousy towards Kate could have contributed to any deeper issues between the two sisters-in-law.

“In the end, it’s important to remember that both women are human and may have their own insecurities and vulnerabilities, which could have affected their relationship. There are likely many nuances and complexities to Kate and Meghan’s relationship that we may never fully understand, but it wouldn’t be surprising if jealousy played a role in their dynamic.”

Her comments come after Ingrid Seward told The Telegraph: “I think that Meghan must have been incredibly envious and then jealous of Kate.
