Newcastle explosion: Boy, 7, dies in suspected gas blast that rocked street

Emergency services were today called to the explosion in Violet Close, in the Benwell and Elswick area of Newcastle, and pictures show a horrific scene of destruction

A seven-year-old boy has today been confirmed dead following a huge house explosion.

The blast destroyed two homes in the Benwell and Elswick area of Newcastle today. A child and three adults were rescued and rushed to hospital but one boy, aged seven, has since died of his injuries.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police confirmed the death this afternoon. Northumbria Police Superintendent Darren Adams said: “It is with great sadness I stand before you today following the death of a young child. As a result of the incident here in the early hours of the morning a seven year old has sadly passed away. Despite the efforts of emergency services he died at the scene. This is a truly devastating outcome.

“I have no doubt the people of Elswick and Benwell and our wider region will want to join me in sending their thoughts and condolences to family and friends. The loss and pain they must be suffering is unimaginable.”

Shocking photographs taken by a drone have captured the utter devastation left on the residential street adjacent to the River Tyne. The roof is missing and debris has been blown across the front and back of the several properties.

Suptind Adams added: “The boys’ loved ones are being supported by specialist officers and we would ask their privacy be respected at this time. I can confirm six people were taken to hospital with varying injuries. A number of people were also evacuated and are being supported by our colleagues from Newcastle City Council.

“They are working with our partners and the community to ensure all those remain in the area are safe. Investigations are ongoing to establish how the explosion occurred.

“These enquires are still in the very early stage and in the coming hours and days we will continue to piece together what has happened so we can provide answers to the family as well as the wider public. We would appeal to anyone who has any information about what has happened to contact us.

“It is likely the cordon will remain in place for some time as we continue to carry out our investigations. This is an incredibly tragic incident.”

Residents are being advised to keep windows and doors closed, while motorists are asked to avoid the area as road closures are in place.

A spokesman for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called to an incident in the Elswick area of Newcastle at 12.45am today.

“We dispatched four paramedic crews, four crews from our hazardous area response team (Hart), a doctor, a specialist paramedic, a clinical team leader, a duty officer and a tactical adviser to the scene. We treated and conveyed four patients – three adults and one child – to hospital for further treatment.”

Speaking previously before the tragic update, a police spokesman said: “Shortly before 12.45am today (Wednesday), police were contacted by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, who are dealing with a fire at an address in the Violet Close area of Newcastle.

A source confirmed to The Sun that Liam has died.

The singer-songwriter was staying at Hotel CasaSur in the neighbourhood of Palermo.

Crowds of heartbroken fans are now gathering behind a cordon outside the accommodation to pay tribute to the guitarist.

Pablo Policicchio, the spokesperson for the security ministry of Buenos Aires, said police were called to the hotel by a worker about an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol”.

Witnesses at the hotel said Liam smashed his laptop and had to be carried back to his room in the erratic incident earlier in the day, TMZ reports.

Cops found Liam dead in the hotel’s inner courtyard at around 5pm local time (9pm UK time) when they arrived.

A red tent was put up over the body as cops began the investigation into the tragic death before the body was taken to the morgue.

The spokesperson for the local ambulance service said Liam’s death had been confirmed on the spot after he had fallen and suffered severe injuries.

Alberto Crescenti told local media: “The alarm was raised at 5.04pm local time saying a person was lying in an internal patio at Casa Sur.

“At 5.11pm an ambulance arrived and the man was certified dead.

“There was no possibility of resuscitating him.”

Tributes have begun to pour in for Liam with celebrities and fans alike sharing their heartbreak.

Liam’s final post on social media was put up on his Snapchat only minutes before his death and showed him and girlfriend Kate Cassidy looking into a mirror.

He had posted earlier in the day talking about riding horses, playing polo, and looking forward to returning home to see his dog.

“It’s a lovely day here in Argentina.”

Kate had also shared a post of Liam just before his death riding a horse with her in the countryside.

The star had arrived in Argentina on September 30 with his girlfriend and was seen at Niall’s show dancing and meeting fans on October 2.

Liam joined One Direction aged just 16 years old after auditioning on X-Factor and finishing third with the group.

He was with the group as it released its first Album Up All Night in 2011 and went stratospheric and captured hearts around the globe.

He was one of the main songwriters of the band between 2010 and 2016 until the group broke up.

He carried on with his own solo music career and released one solo album in 2019 – LP1.

The Sun revealed last week that Liam had parted ways with his management and had shelved plans for a second solo album.

And earlier this week Liam’s ex Maya Henry called in the lawyers after accusing Liam of repeatedly messaging her, her friends, and her mum.

The Wolverhampton-born singer was born August 29, 1993, and had early health battles and was bullied at secondary school.

He made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for X Factor in 2008.

An unearthed clip shows baby-faced Liam telling the cameras: “When I’m at school, in general, I think about singing all the time.

“I should really be concentrating on my school work but I just think about singing too much.”

After being eliminated as a solo artist he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four others to form One Direction.

Simon Cowell united Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Harry Styles to form one of the biggest music acts ever.

Liam dated singer Cheryl Cole with the pair having a child named Bear in 2017.

They split in 2018 before he was linked to supermodel Naomi Campbell in 2019.

He had an on-off, three-year relationship with ex-fiancée Henry which was said to have ended for good in May, 2022.

The singer had been open about his battles with drugs.

In 2021, he blamed a “pills and booze phase” for bloating his face to “ten times the size”, while also revealing he used to guzzle the contents of his mini bar when band chiefs checked the lads into hotels to keep fans at bay.

In 2019, Liam revealed he suffered suicidal thoughts as he struggled with his fame he revealed on Ant Middleton And Liam Payne: Straight Talking.

He said: “For some certain circumstances I’m quite lucky to be here still.

“There are times when that level of loneliness and people getting into you every day, it’s like, ‘When will this end?’ That’s almost nearly killed me a couple of times.”

He survived by his son Bear, 7, his parents, Geoff and Karen Payne, and his two older sisters, Ruth and Nicola.

Police will now carry out an autopsy on the body.

Inside Liam Payne and Cheryl’s romance

    By Joanne Kavanagh

IT was a romance that caused a media storm.

One Direction hunk Liam Payne was in a relationship ship X Factor judge Cheryl.

The pair – who have a ten-year age gap – got together while Cheryl was going through her divorce to second husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini at the beginning of 2016.

Despite their age difference they looked completely infatuated with each other when the couple made their red carpet debut at Cannes in May 2016.

Liam even paid a sweet tribute to his girlfriend by getting a tattoo of her eye on his arm.

In 2017, Liam and Cheryl welcomed their baby.

Cheryl posted a picture on Instagram of Liam cradling their 7lb 9oz baby.

She captioned the sweet snap with: “On Wednesday Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy looking like a dream.”

One pal told The Sun: “Cheryl gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday, and both are doing well.

“Liam didn’t leave Cheryl’s side throughout the birth, and like her, he is besotted with their new son and can’t wait to take him home.

“This is the perfect Mother’s Day for Cheryl.”

The Sun revealed in May 2017, that the couple named their son Bear.

They decided on the unusual name after spending a week getting to know him.

Bear adopted his One Direction star dad’s surname, so he is called Bear Payne.

A source revealed: “Cheryl and Liam wanted to get to know [their son] before they decided on the name.

“They didn’t have the name Bear before the birth.

“But they’d been thinking of a name since meeting him and they just felt it suited him.”

In February 2018, The Sun broke the story that Liam’s constant travelling to promote his solo career had placed a huge strain on the relationship, and they were ready to split.

That same month, Cheryl declared that “none of it matters” as she shrugged off questions about her crumbling romance with Liam during a BBC Breakfast interview.

They then put on a united front together at the Brit Awards, where they smiled on the red carpet and Cheryl joked about the couple’s ‘safe word’.

However, by July 2018, Cheryl and Liam made the decision to split.

A pal told The Sun: “Cheryl and Liam worked really hard on their relationship – they had troubles earlier this year and were able to get through them.

“But they’re in different stages of their lives and, after a lot of careful thought, came to a decision that it’s best for everyone if they do go their separate ways.”

Liam and Cheryl then released a statement confirming their break-up.

They posted a message on social media that read: “We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It’s been a tough decision for us to make.

“We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.”

Other iconic moments are captured on camera - including Diana's lone visit to the Taj Mahal in India in 1992. How King made ‘beloved daughter-in-law’ his centre of attention: Charles and Kate Middleton engaged in ‘animated conversation and laughter’ as they supported one another side-by-side at Trooping the Colour, body language expert says

The close relationship between King Charles and his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton appears to have become even closer, according to a body language expert.

Charles, 75, and Kate, 42, were reunited on the Buckingham Palace balcony today for the first time since they both began cancer treatment.

The Princess of Wales joined other members of the Royal Family to watch a spectacular flypast by the RAF as she made a triumphant return to public life at Trooping the Colour.

According to Judi James, during their balcony appearance, the two royals showed behaviour that was consistent with ‘a series of “reward” rituals that spoke volumes about family bonds and relationships behind the scenes’.

It has long been thought that the King and the Princess of Wales are close thanks to their shared interests in the arts, among other reasons.

According to body language expert Judi James, Kate leaning in towards Charles showed her confidence, as well as 'placing her in a supportive role' with the King

But many royal watchers say that after both being diagnosed with cancer, Charles and Kate have enjoyed a deeper bond.

Judi told FEMAIL: ‘Charles has always had an increasingly special relationship with Kate, who he has grown to trust and delight in.

‘Here though, that relationship was highlighted to illustrate how those bonds have only deepened and enriched by their bonds of empathy created by their illnesses.’

In a departure from last year, when King Charles stood next to his heir Prince William, 41, this year, he stood next to Kate.

This was significant, according to Judi, as she explained: ‘Charles made Kate his centre of attention to signal both how much she is cherished and how grateful he was at her attendance today.’

And it wasn’t just where they were standing that stood out: the way the two royals interacted spoke volumes about the relationship, according to Judi.

‘Kate was placed beside her father-in-law and the pair engaged in some bouts of animated conversation that included eye contact and laughter,’ she said.

‘At one point Camilla even moved to speak to her husband but his head was turned towards Kate for their chat.’

These interactions also showed Kate’s confidence, Judi said, describing it as ‘telling’ that ‘Kate lent to instigate their first conversation’. And the context of royal protocol made the move more significant.

As Judi explained: ‘The pecking orders on the balcony can be quite strict but Kate instigating the conversation showed not just confidence but it seemed to place her in a supportive role with Charles.’

While chatting, the pair were both seen smiling and laughing. Judi noted that ‘Charles did appear to appreciate the way [Kate] made him laugh, too’.

The huge crowds that had gathered today to catch a glimpse of the royals erupted when Kate stepped out onto the balcony.

And they continued to show their support during the national anthem. According to Judi: ‘Towards the end of the anthem, [the king] looked tearful at the support he and his daughter-in-law were receiving.’

The Royal Family came together to watch the spectacular flypast by the RAF, which was met with cheers from the crowds below.

It began as senior royals came out onto the balcony – with Charles and Camilla followed by Kate and William and their children George, Charlotte and Louis.

They were joined by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, with the family smiling and waving to crowds before standing proudly as the national anthem was played.

Kate’s appearance had been in doubt after she missed the final Trooping rehearsal last weekend, with confirmation that she would attend only given at 6pm yesterday.

But with the King also suffering from cancer, today’s spectacle of military pomp and pageantry became a symbolic statement by the monarchy after much uncertainty.

Scotland Yard had a ‘substantial’ policing operation in place, with anti-monarchy group Republic allowed to protest but banned from using amplified sound.

Hundreds of Metropolitan Police officers were deployed on the ceremonial route to ensure the safety and security of those watching, with tens of thousands gathered.

Earlier, the 42-year-old Princess of Wales beamed and waved as she and her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were cheered by crowds on The Mall in a carriage procession for the Trooping the Colour ceremony.

Kate was surrounded by other members of the family – with her husband Prince William , Colonel of the Welsh Guards, on horseback, along with Princess Anne , Colonel of the Blues and Royals, and Prince Edward , Colonel of the Scots Guards.

After spending much of the year coming to terms with the diagnosis and receiving ongoing chemotherapy, Kate looked relaxed as she travelled along one of London’s most famous thoroughfares with her family in the glass state coach.

The family were first seen arriving at Buckingham Palace in a car at 10am, with George sitting between Kate and William, and Charlotte and Louis opposite.

King Charles III also rode in a carriage with Queen Camilla, a departure from last year because of his illness, and he inspected the officers and guardsmen on Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall from the coach rather than from a horse.

Trooping the Colour is a social as well as a ceremonial occasion and the stands overlooking the parade ground were filled with about 8,000 spouses, girlfriends and parents of the guardsmen and officers on parade.

It featured more than 1,250 soldiers, and hundreds of Guardsmen were lined up on the parade ground waiting to be inspected by the King from his carriage with Camilla, Colonel of the Grenadier Guards, and joined by the mounted royal Colonels.

The colour, or regimental flag, that was trooped WAS the King’s Colour of number 9 company, Irish Guards.

When the royal carriages finally came to a stop Louis was the first to leave, followed by his elder brother George and sister Charlotte.

Finally, Kate stepped down wearing wearing a Jenny Packham dress, hat by Philip Treacy and the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, as she is the regiment’s Colonel.

When the inspection of the Guardsmen in their scarlet tunics and bearskins began, the King cast his eye over the servicemen who are fighting soldiers when not performing ceremonial duties.

Sat beside him in the carriage was the Queen who wore a pale green silk crepe dress and coat by Anna Valentine, Philip Tracey hat and her Grenadier Guards military brooch.

During the pageantry the colour was first trooped through the ranks of soldiers before the guardsmen marched past the King, first in slow then in quick time with the King acknowledging the command of ‘eyes right’ with a salute.

For the first time in more than 100 years, soldiers on parade were allowed to have beards.

The rule change, which applies across the Army, was approved by the King earlier this year after facial hair was only allowed for religious, medical or role specific reasons.

The rehearsals behind the royal weddings: From Charles and Diana’s run-throughs at St Paul’s Cathedral in 1981 to Kate’s practice with William at Westminster Abbey in 2011

Royal weddings have captivated the public imagination for centuries.

As a case in point, the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey in 2011 was watched by a record two billion people worldwide.

But a significant amount of preparation was dedicated to ensure everything ran seamlessly, from the vows to the military procession.

Like many other couples, William and Kate attended multiple rehearsals before their momentous wedding day.

Here, we delve into the detailed preparations that went into their nuptials and those of other royal family members over the years.

The couple’s first run-through took place on June 12, with a final hour-long rehearsal two nights before the big day.

Afterwards, Queen Elizabeth II hosted a grand gala ball at Buckingham Palace for 1,400 guests, followed by an intimate dinner for 90.

Diana also had a rehearsal with her bridesmaids and page boys at St Paul’s on July 22.

Attendees included Princess Margaret, the Duchess of Kent and Diana’s estranged parents, Frances Shand-Kydd and Earl Spencer.

The bridesmaids included India Hicks, who was then 13, and Winston Churchill’s great-granddaughter Clementine Hambro.

It was the wedding of the century, when the future Queen tied the knot with the man who would be by her side for more than 70 years.

On November 20, 1947, Princess Elizabeth married Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten – as he was then – inside Westminster Abbey.

And, as you can imagine, an enormous amount of preparation went into a ceremony that boasted a 2,000-strong guest list and which was listened

The key participants rehearsed the big procession from the Abbey’s Great West Door – where Elizabeth would enter the following day with her father George VI at her side.

The bride and groom were also shown their places on the step’s of the Abbey’s Sanctuary and shown when to make their responses and when to kneel for the Blessing.

The Daily Mail reported at the time: ‘Almost every step in the Princess’s glittering course from the Great West Door to the Sanctuary and High Altar will be timed.’

New jewels please: How the royals have stolen the show at Wimbledon with their sparkler choices – from Princess Margaret’s diamond brooch to Kate’s gold charm earrings

It was June 1919, just seven months on from the end of the First World War.

And Queen Mary, attending what was the first Wimbledon Championships in four years, showed that things were on the up with her choice of jewels.

She arrived to present the trophies alongside her husband King George V wearing an enormous brooch pinned at her neckline and a large pendant that hung from a chain and rested on her chest.

The brooch was a large oval-shaped pink topaz, while the pendant was the same stone but cushion-shaped.

More than 30 years later, in 1950, Mary watched the tennis wearing pearl strands and a bejewelled floral brooch pinned to her dress at the throat – before presenting the Venus Rosewatcher Dish to women’s singles winner Louise Brough.

In 1957, her granddaughter, Queen Elizabeth II was wearing a three-strand pearl necklace given to her by her late father King George VI – along with matching earrings and a delicate diamond floral brooch – when she presented the salver to winner Alethea Gibson.

Like Queen Mary’s, those jewels were impressive – but the sight of the Queen wearing them did not match her sister Princess Margaret‘s outing in 1965, when she was spotted in the royal box with sunglasses on, cigarette in hand and a fabulous diamond brooch pinned to her shoulder.

When Princess Diana watched proceedings at Wimbledon in 1981 – just days before her wedding to Prince Charles – she showed off her diamond and sapphire engagement ring, along with a single strand pearl necklace, a Patek Philippe gold watch and a gold bracelet.

As for Kate Middleton, the current Princess of Wales, her jewels have wowed at Wimbledon too – such as the Brora gold charm earrings she displayed in 2016.

Queen Mary gave the pieces she wore in 1919 to her daughter-in-law Princess Alice and they now belong to the Duchess of Gloucester.

The large topaz is often swapped into the Gloucester Honeysuckle Tiara, while the cushion-shaped pendant is in a bracelet.

In 1962, when she handed the men’s singles trophy to Rod Laver, Queen Elizabeth wore a decidedly more grand diamond brooch than her floral one from 1957, alongside her triple strand pearls.

Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Brooch was bequeathed to her following her grandmother’s death.

This spectacular piece was created and set entirely with diamonds by Garrard and bought by Queen Mary in 1932.

It became a favourite of her granddaughter, who normally wore it at gala functions alongside one of her many imposing tiaras and other formal jewels.

She also wore it at the wedding of Prince William and Kate in 2011.

Princess Margaret’s Carinthia Floral Spray Brooch – the one she wore at Wimbledon in 1965 – was presented to the Princess in 1955 to commemorate her launching of the Carinthia Steamship for the Cunard Line.

The main flower is set with a large diamond, with further diamonds set in the petals, leaves and stalks.

It is believed to date back to the 19th century, with the age clue being how the diamonds are set in silver on gold.

Nowadays, her daughter Lady Sarah Chatto wears it for formal occasions.

The Princess had several cross brooches, one of which – a diamond George III Maltese cross – was sold in 2006 at Christie’s for £38,400.

It came via her grandmother Queen Mary, who wore it at both the Queen’s christening in 1926 and King Charles’ in 1948.

The brooch, according to Hugh Robert’s in his encyclopaedic tome The Queen’s Diamonds, was made by Garrard in the mid-19th century in two parts.

The first was with a large pearl surrounded by a narrow halo of pavé-set diamonds encircled with 14 round brilliant diamonds.

The second part was a detachable pendant of diamonds and a large baroque pearl.

For her last appearance at Wimbledon in 2010, the Queen wore not only her triple strand pearl necklaces and pearl earrings, but her pearl and diamond Trefoil Brooch – one of her favourites.

If you look very carefully, you might also spot her tiny diamond hat pin. We are unlikely to see one of those again at Centre Court!

The 1980s brought about a pared down look for the royals at Wimbledon.

On July 4th 1981, days before her wedding, Lady Diana Spencer was spotted sitting in the second row behind Princess Grace of Monaco at the men’s singles final – where Bjorn Borg took on John McEnroe.

Grace wore one of her trademark Cartier watches and a Cartier bangle, with gold knots in her ears.

The younger generation of royal ladies have kept things more simple.

Another video shared on Issey’s page shows Bby Ivy and Issey on a night out together, alongside the caption: ‘When he thought you would never find out about each other but now you’re best friends.’

Cruz was linked to Issey, 19, in February earlier this year, weeks before he was pictured with Bby Ivy, including at a family meal in Paris with the Beckham clan.

In a video shared to her page, Bby Ivy claimed her ex-boyfriend had been ‘seeing another girl the whole time’, but did not name Cruz directly.

Bby went on to reveal she felt ‘overwhelmed’ and had been on the edge of tears all day at the thought of leaving her hotel room.

Before his relationship with Bby Ivy, Cruz was previously dating social media star Issey as well as actress and dancer Skye Ladell, 23.

Cruz’s run of glamorous dates comes after he split from Tana Holding, 19, in October 2023.

Does Cruz Beckham’s new girlfriend Wannabe the new Posh Spice? Brazilian singer, 28, dating the teenager was also in a girl band and shares Victoria’s glamorous style

She received the ultimate stamp of approval from Victoria Beckham when she sat front row at her Paris Fashion Week show last week.

And with a string of similarities between the pair, it was no doubt an effortless transition into the fold for the Brazilian-German singer Jackie Apostel, 28, who is believed to have started dating the youngest Beckham son, Cruz, 19, in June.

While the age gap between Jackie, who turns 29 next month, and aspiring singer Cruz may raise an eyebrow, they do have a lot in common – given her very similar career background to former Spice Girl, Victoria.

Jackie, who started playing the piano at the age of two, was also in a girl band before branching out to launch her solo career.

It’s not just their old girl band days that Jackie and 50-year-old Victoria can bond over, but also their model looks and shared interest in high fashion.

For the glitzy fashion show in the French capital, Jackie appeared to acknowledge her likeness to Victoria when she donned a backless satin gown and topknot hairdo in a look typical of the fashion designer.

Songwriter and producer Jackie from Sao Paulo, who was born to a Brazilian mother and German father, first gained recognition in girl band Schutz.

Like her boyfriend’s mother, who found fame in the Spice Girls, Jackie developed a ’90s-inspired look and could be found dancing in sync with her fellow band members in statement outfits.

In promotion shots, each member of Schutz would wear a specific colour to mark out their own bold personalities – a look previously used by the Spice Girls, who expressed their own personas via fashion.

Jackie lists the Beckhams’ close pal Elton John as one of her inspirations, telling Indie Band Guru: ‘I think I try to embrace all aspects of pop. I’m not afraid to say I love catchy music; I love easy and repetitive.

‘We have rock records on there, we have a lot of Latin influence. It’s extremely genre-fluid but they’re all big parts of me.’

By 2022, Jackie had set her sights on a different goal, ditching singing to focus on songwriting and producing as a solo artist – a step Victoria took in the summer of 2000.

She released a statement to confirm she would cease to record as a solo artist: ‘For those who know me personally you know I’ve planned this for a while and how much it means to me to put a full stop to this side of my career’.

‘My intention was not and has never been to become a recording, touring artist. I’m a studio rat, I’m a creator, I’m a writer, producer and artist in many ways but releasing the songs we did myself was always just a way of showcasing the tracks.’

She took down her previously released songs with the hope of giving them the opportunity to be re-released by bigger names.

In the statement, Jackie also slammed the music industry for its habit of pigeonholing women.

Jackie wrote: ‘It seems some people within and without the industry still like to think that being an artist that cares about their image, that is a good performer, that likes to look good and is fearlessly themselves couldn’t possibly also thrive as a businesswoman, a producer, or literally whatever it is they do additionally.’

It’s a message that Victoria could be the poster girl for, having long empowered women with her foray into the fashion industry after finding fame as a pop star, and not to mention her creating the eponymous label while balancing life as a mother-of-four.

Now, Jackie writes for singers of all genres including Latin market heavy hitters, pop and hip hop and film soundtracks.

While her career is still in its early days, Jackie’s ventures have led her to writing and producing regularly, including at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios.

Discussing her music-making process, Jackie revealed that she records voice notes in the early stages, Last.FM reported.

She said: ‘Everything starts off with an hour-long voice note. I’ll record millions of melodies or thoughts turn into a hook or a topic of inspiration.’

Brooklyn Beckham launches his £15 hot sauce in London Wholefoods

Brooklyn’s plans for the Cloud 23 range of food and drinks were first revealed by MailOnline in January.

Beckham junior confirmed plans to launch a product ‘in the food space’ in an interview in June, saying it would launch in September in Whole Foods.

Brooklyn told InStyle magazine in June of the then-unconfirmed food: ‘It’s nice, because it’s so broad. You can use it in spicy margaritas, you can use it on chicken, you can use it on sushi.’

He added: ‘I can’t say what, exactly, it is, but it’s in the food space. It’s been a passion project of mine for the last two-and-a-half years, something I’ve literally put everything into. I’ve never worked so hard on anything in my life.’

He put his own funds into the project, too. ‘I had to find a distributor… finding a CEO is very difficult, especially for a start-up. The first year was just me — I put a lot of money in to start it on my own — and then maybe under a year ago, I got investors.’

It’s been a very successful month for the Beckhams, with Victoria releasing her new perfume and Romeo making his catwalk debut.

During her sold-out performance at New York’s Madison Square Garden in August, Tate called upon The Kid Laroi to perform a stripped-back duet of his song Without You at the iconic venue.

‘He’s performed on the biggest stages and, with the craziest people, and he walks on my stage, and he literally looked like he wanted to cry,’ Tate said.

‘I’m very routine with my shows,’ the pop star said. ‘If I’m choosing to sit down, I sit down.

‘He’s very like – whatever. He’s a rapper. So he walks around.’

Mid-way through the performance, the You Broke Me First singer said The Kid Laroi blindsided her by improvising.

‘He grabs my hand and he picks me up,’ Tate continued.

She explained what was going through her mind at that moment: ‘Don’t you pick me up now! We didn’t practice this’.

‘Like I’m sitting here like trying to do my job and I’m like, “oh my god”, and so it was funny.’

‘And at the end, he goes on this big spiel. He’s like, “I’m so proud of you”. All this stuff. And then he like, pauses. I totally thought he was done speaking!’

‘And I’m like, “give it up for the Kid Laroi!” I totally cut him off.’

Radio hosts Will and Woody revealed to Tate that they’d asked The Kid Laroi the same question during a recent interview with the Stay singer.

‘It’s [the] sweetest thing, like someone’s sharing their stage with you, right?’ he said.

‘It’s one of the nicest things you can do, I think, is to share a stage and share a platform with someone you love.

‘It’s like a really cool thing to do and it was just a really great memory to have as well…It’s definitely not like asking to go and buy kitchenware.’

After months of speculation that the musical duo were in a relationship, The Kid Laroi made things official with the Canadian star during one of his own shows earlier this year.

He confirmed the relationship to fans during a concert in Ireland on April 14.

The moment came between songs while Laroi was on stage.

He told the crowd at the 3Arena in Dublin: ‘I need everybody in here to sing this as loud as they can because my girlfriend’s here tonight, and I don’t want to look lame.’

Fan cameras then panned to stage left, and showed Tate giggling while she was watching the show.

‘If you guys don’t sing this really loud…’ the Sydney star added, ‘It’s going to embarrass me.’
