  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new European hideaway hides a murky story of greed and corruption

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new European hideaway hides a murky story of greed and corruption

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are rumoured to have bought a European holiday home in Portugal in an upmarket coastal district around an hour south of Lisbon.

The Comporta region of the Alentejo has been dubbed ‘the Hamptons of Western Europe’ after the seaside resorts on Long Island favoured by the New York jet-set and made famous by F Scott Fitzgerald in The Great Gatsby.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have fallen for the area when they visited Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank in 2023. Other famous admirers of Comporta include George and Amal Clooney and Madonna. This pricey strip of Atlantic coastline is also home to European high-fliers such as former French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife, the Italian-French supermodel Carla Bruni, the Italian actress Monica Belluci and the French fashion designer Christian Louboutin.

But scratch below the glitzy, sun-kissed surface and the story of Comporta takes on an altogether darker hue. The Herdade da Comporta (Estate of Comporta) was originally a vast agricultural estate, dating back to the 12th century.

It was renowned throughout Portugal for its rice production, as well as its salt works and its fishing villages. The Herdade was formally constituted in 1836 but more than 150 years later it began a new lease of life.

The Espirito Santo banking family owned the land and recognised the potential in this beautiful, unspoilt landscape, as they began to market it as a summer destination for European royalty and the continent’s super-rich.

However, it all fell apart when Portugal’s central bank had to rescue the Banco Espirito Santo in 2014 at a cost to the taxpayer of 8 billion euros in what Reuters described as “one of Europe’s biggest corporate collapses ever”. An investigation later uncovered “wilful acts of ruinous management” by the bank’s bosses.

They included Ricardo Salgado, the heir to the banking dynasty, who later faced charges for money-laundering and corruption. He was dubbed ‘DDT’, standing for ‘Dono Disto Tudo’ or ‘Owner of All This’. In June 2024, he was sentenced to six years in prison in relation to the Operation Marquis corruption case.

Meanwhile, the trial dealing with the biggest banking scandal in Portuguese history has begun in Lisbon this month with Salgado as the main defendant as the authorities finally prosecute the collapse of the bank itself. It involves investigations in at least six countries – Portugal, Switzerland, Venezuala, Luxembourg, Panama and Angola. According to a report by Euromoney, Salgado is now known in Lisbon as ‘Europe’s Madoff’.When the bank was bailed out in 2014, the authorities ordered Banco Espirito Santo to put the Herdade up for sale and around 1380 hectares was eventually purchased five years later by Portuguese tycoon Paula Amorim and French magnate Claude Berda. The agricultural part of the estate was not included in the sale.

They announced plans for development projects worth 1.5billion euros… and the Hamptons of Western Europe now looks set to soar on to a bright new future as a holiday hotspot for the global elite, far removed from the area’s long history as a peaceful and idyllic agricultural backwater.

  • ‘Obsessed’ with Prince Harry and William, Diddy kept their ‘framed pictures’ and made desperate attempts

‘Obsessed’ with Prince Harry and William, Diddy kept their ‘framed pictures’ and made desperate attempts

Sean “Diddy” Combs is known for throwing Hollywood parties that draw nearly every A-lister, yet he couldn’t entice the royal brothers, despite fanboying over Harry and William. Rob Shuter, Diddy’s former publicist, revealed that the rapper was “obsessed” with inviting royalty and even offered to cover their expenses.

He also noted that Diddy, who sees himself as a king, found it puzzling that the two princes never attended his gatherings. Meanwhile, Combs is currently behind bars in Brooklyn, awaiting his trial set for 2025.Diddy was ‘obsessed’ with Prince Harry and William

While pictures surfaced showing young Harry and William posing alongside the music mogul, the brothers never accepted his party invitations despite several attempts, reveals the publicist. “Diddy was obsessed with Prince Harry and Prince William. He thinks of himself as a king, so it makes perfect sense that he would like to have two princes in his entourage,” Shuter told the BBC.

The insider, who previously worked for the Bad Boy Records producer, added, “[They] never accepted [the invites]; they were never part of his world.” In an old interview clip, Diddy was asked about inviting the brothers to his parties, and he said he was no longer interested.

In talks with British talk show host Graham Norton, the rapper can be seen saying, “Trust me, they are off the list. But before, when they were young bucks growing up, they were getting in a lot of trouble themselves. So I said, hey, why don’t you come hang out with me?” This was his response to the host’s query about whether he still wanted them at the party.

Diddy made several attempts to get Harry and William at his party

Shuter informed the BBC that during his time as the music mogul’s publicist, he reached out to William and Harry over ten times at Combs’ request. Despite the numerous invitations, the royals never accepted, even though Combs was willing to cover their travel, accommodations, and security expenses.

Additionally, Shuter revealed that the rapper, who is currently battling charges of Sex trafficking, racketeering, and other sexual assault cases, sitting inside the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being denied bail by two judges, had “framed pictures” of both the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex displayed in his New York apartment.

In the resurfaced clip, Combs also shared his willingness to meet Late Queen Elizabeth saying, “I’d like to meet her. She doesn’t have to hang out with me but I could go over for some tea or something.”he disgraced musician has been charged with hosting wild parties often labeled as “white parties,” which attracted numerous Hollywood stars and celebrities.

However, once most guests departed, the events allegedly transformed into “freak off” gatherings involving Diddy’s close-knit circle, where women were reportedly coerced into sexual activities without their consent.

With each passing day and growing accusations against the rapper, many alleged that not only women but also minors were assaulted at these parties, regardless of their gender. Tony Buzbee, a high-profile attorney handling multiple cases against Diddy, stated that he has around 100 lawsuits lined up against the rapper.

  • Caught in the Act! Jessica Mulroney Shares Shocking Photo of Meghan Markle Bullying Princess Charlotte!

Caught in the Act! Jessica Mulroney Shares Shocking Photo of Meghan Markle Bullying Princess Charlotte!

Imagine being at the center of a royal scandal, accused of slapping Princess Charlotte, with your friend revealing it on Instagram. It sounds like a work of fiction, but it’s real drama in royal circles. Meghan Markle, once a beloved actress, is now under harsh scrutiny. Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s friend, posted on Instagram about Meghan allegedly bullying Princess Charlotte. But is this the full story? This scandal involves a wedding, a little princess, and a bridesmaid dress, and it’s a royal drama you didn’t know you needed.

The 2018 wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was supposed to be a joyful occasion, but behind the scenes, tensions were brewing. The calm smiles seen on TV hid deeper conflicts. The issue began with the bridesmaid dresses, specifically Princess Charlotte’s. What should have been a simple fitting turned into an emotional confrontation, with Charlotte reportedly in tears. The exact reasons were unclear. Jessica Mulroney made the situation worse with her Instagram post, hinting at a much more serious situation than anyone had imagined. Was this just about a dress, or were there deeper tensions between Meghan and the royal family? Why was Princess Charlotte crying? Was it really that stressful? Let’s dig deeper.

Jessica Mulroney, known for her work as a celebrity stylist and her close friendship with Meghan Markle, sparked a royal drama with her Instagram post. What did Mulroney reveal? Her post suggested that Meghan had bullied Princess Charlotte, hinting at a pattern of behavior. While she didn’t explicitly say Meghan physically abused Charlotte, the message was clear enough to ignite a storm.

The public had only heard fragments of this story, but Mulroney’s post changed everything. The internet quickly filled with speculation. Was this a cry for attention, or was Mulroney standing up for what was right?

We often see Meghan as the polished Duchess, with her marriage to Prince Harry viewed as a fairy tale. But what happens when the cameras stop rolling? Meghan has openly struggled with royal life—facing media scrutiny and isolation. Could these pressures have led to inappropriate behavior? Critics say bullying a child, especially one like Princess Charlotte, is a big deal and hard to ignore. Can stress justify bad behavior, or should members of the royal family always act with dignity?

The royal family’s silence on this matter is telling. Known for their “never complain, never explain” approach, they’ve stayed quiet, leaving the public to guess what might be happening behind closed doors. Insiders say intense discussions are taking place. Meghan and Prince Harry might be feeling the pressure—could this scandal deepen the rift between them and the rest of the royal family?

If these accusations are true, it could have serious consequences for Meghan’s reputation and her relationship with the royal family.

Meghan Markle is no stranger to controversy, but bullying a child is another level of scandal. Both she and Prince Harry have always talked about kindness and family values, making these allegations particularly damaging. So far, Meghan has chosen not to speak out. Some believe she’s staying silent to let the storm blow over, while others think she should address the claims head-on due to the serious nature of the accusations. Is her silence a savvy PR move, or is it causing more harm than good?

This scandal may seem like just another royal drama, but it highlights much larger issues within the British monarchy and media. Meghan’s entry into the royal family brought fresh perspectives but also exposed uncomfortable truths about tradition, race, and power. Royal scandals, whether they involve a wedding, a baby, or a feud, always attract attention—but at what cost? The constant media spotlight has undoubtedly taken a toll on Meghan, Harry, and their children. Could the pressure of being a royal lead to misunderstandings and conflicts?

This scandal offers lessons for all of us, even those outside of royal circles. Here are some tips for handling personal conflict:

Take a Step Back: In intense moments, step back to see things clearly. Are you reacting to the issue or the stress surrounding it?

Communicate Openly: Misunderstandings often fuel conflict. Open, honest communication, even when it’s difficult, can prevent things from escalating.

Apologize When Necessary: If you’ve made a mistake, own up to it. Apologizing can go a long way toward mending relationships.

Set Boundaries: Know when to stand up for yourself and protect your mental space.

It’s hard to predict how this will unfold. Will the media frenzy die down, or will more details emerge? One thing’s for sure: the world will be watching closely. Could this scandal be the final straw in Meghan’s relationship with the royal family?

Royal scandals always leave us with more questions than answers. What do you think about the allegations against Meghan Markle? Is this just media sensationalism, or could there be some truth to the claims? Let us know your thoughts—engage with us by sharing your views in the comments or join the conversation on social media. After all, in the world of royal drama, everyone has an opinion.

These accusations have already left a mark on Meghan Markle’s public image. Since marrying Prince Harry, Meghan has been a polarizing figure. Her supporters see her as a strong, independent woman challenging royal traditions, while her critics argue that she has disrupted the monarchy. How do these new allegations shape her legacy?

If Jessica Mulroney’s claims gain more traction, Meghan’s reputation as a humanitarian and mental health advocate could suffer greatly. How can someone who promotes kindness and empathy be accused of bullying a child? But there’s also the possibility that Meghan’s silence could work in her favor—scandals often fade if left unaddressed. However, with each passing day without a response, the whispers of guilt grow louder.

Mulroney’s role in this scandal raises important questions about friendships and loyalty. As Meghan’s close friend, she’s had a front-row seat to the Duchess’s life behind the scenes. Why would she post something so damaging? Some speculate that her post was motivated by a personal rift with Meghan. Others believe Mulroney felt the need to stand up for Princess Charlotte. Whatever the reason, her decision to air this issue publicly has placed her in a precarious position—while she has the power to sway public opinion, she also risks appearing disloyal.

Social media plays a massive role in shaping how stories unfold, and this scandal is no different. Jessica Mulroney’s Instagram post reveals how platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok can fuel royal drama. Social media allows people to share their side of the story directly with the public, but it also opens the door for speculation, trolling, and misinformation.

Though centered on Meghan, this scandal has broader implications for the royal family. The monarchy relies on its members to maintain decorum and unity. Any sign of internal strife risks damaging the royal brand. How will the family handle this? Could it further strain relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family? From Henry VIII’s marriages to Princess Diana’s battles with the media, royal scandals have always captured public attention. They reveal that even those in positions of immense privilege face conflicts and make mistakes. The Meghan Markle saga is especially compelling because it touches on issues of privilege, tradition, and modernity. Why do we care so much about the personal lives of people we’ll never meet?

As this scandal unfolds, many are wondering what it means for Meghan, Harry, and their future. They’ve stepped back from their royal roles, but controversies like this make it even harder for them to reconcile with the monarchy. Can they rebuild their image? A well-timed statement could help them regain control of the narrative, but one misstep could further alienate their supporters and damage their royal ties.

  • Shocking Move: Did Meghan Markle Really Sell Her Engagement Ring?

Shocking Move: Did Meghan Markle Really Sell Her Engagement Ring?

Meghan Markle’s Engagement Ring Has Gone Missing Again: Is Divorce on the Horizon? Meghan Markle’s engagement ring has gone missing once again during a recent solo outing, intensifying rumors that divorce may be looming on the horizon. The intriguing situation surrounding Meghan’s engagement ring and the implications it has for her relationship with Prince Harry.

As mentioned, Meghan’s engagement ring has gone missing yet again during a solo event. This situation is only fueling speculation that a divorce could be on the way. Just two weeks ago, I released a video discussing how Prince William is reportedly demanding that Meghan return the lost Princess Diana diamonds that are part of this very engagement ring. So, what’s the connection between the missing engagement ring and these diamonds? When the ring was last unaccounted for, it took over a year before we saw it again. At that time, Team Sussex claimed it was at the jeweler for a reset. However, it’s puzzling to think it takes a year to reset a ring—generally, it shouldn’t take that long. So, I’m curious about Meghan’s excuse for the ring’s current disappearance during her latest solo outing.

The specific event in question took place on October 2nd, where Meghan spent time with teenagers for a digital wellness program called “Social Media You.” However, if you look closely at the pictures, there’s no engagement ring in sight. Why wouldn’t she wear it, especially considering her affinity for cosplaying Princess Diana? The engagement ring, complete with its two Princess Diana diamonds, represents a tangible connection to the late royal. So, why wouldn’t Meghan take every chance to showcase it? Something doesn’t add up here.

For those who may not be aware, during this outing, Meghan aimed to promote online safety and guide young girls on how to navigate social media responsibly. However, I find it a bit hypocritical, considering her own issues with online bullying and the infamous Sussex Squad. Until she publicly denounces them, her attempts to combat cyberbullying come off as insincere.

Now, back to the missing engagement ring. This latest development has only heightened the speculation about a potential divorce. Earlier this month, articles surfaced discussing Harry and Meghan’s solo appearances, indicating a professional separation. Many are wondering if this is the beginning of the end for them. Reports from New York suggest that Harry is becoming serious about repairing his image, and he feels Meghan may not fit into that picture anymore.

Sources indicate that Harry is facing the fallout from his public image and is distancing himself from Meghan. It’s become increasingly clear that he’s seeking space, both publicly and personally. Remember last year when rumors circulated that Harry had a hotel room permanently booked to escape Meghan and the kids at their Montecito home? That hotel is the San Vicente Bungalows, known for its secretive nature.

While Harry’s representative denied the existence of a permanent room, the secretive operations of the San Vicente Bungalows make it plausible that he could indeed have a space there, regardless of what he says publicly. The ongoing rumors about their marriage certainly cast doubt on their current situation, especially with Harry’s determination to repair his public image without Meghan’s involvement. Now, the engagement ring has gone missing yet again during Meghan’s outing. As I mentioned earlier, Prince William is even asking about the whereabouts of the Princess Diana diamonds. This situation seems to be raising even more questions about the state of Harry and Meghan’s marriage.

I have a very special guest that I know you’ll be thrilled to hear from. We’ll be diving into the misadventures of the gruesome twosome and the positive adventures of the royal family, along with much more!

  • How Prince Harry is ‘back and showing his best side’ after raft of public engagements without Meghan

How Prince Harry is ‘back and showing his best side’ after raft of public engagements without Meghan

The ‘real’ Prince Harry could be back at last after he ‘showed his best side’ during trips to London and Africa in recent days, royal experts told MailOnline today.

The Duke of Sussex was at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on Monday to pay tribute to children and teenagers recognised at the WellChild Awards who act as carers, fundraisers or just carry on with life as they cope with debilitating conditions.Harry laughed as he was upstaged by a seriously ill boy who wanted to feel his beard, and hailed the group of ‘little legends’ for ‘uplifting all those around you’.

The Duke has supported WellChild as patron for more than 15 years, retaining the role despite quitting as a working royal in 2020 – and royal commentators told how they were delighted to see him appearing upbeat and relaxed for this week’s event.

They said this was particularly welcome given Harry’s many barbs at the rest of the Royal Family, such as in his tell-all Netflix documentary and autobiography Spare.

The Duke has since headed on a week-long visit to Lesotho and South Africa for his charity Sentebale, which experts said also showed him trying to change his profile.

Richard Fitzwilliams said that Harry had reminded the public in recent days of the various charities he is involved with, in a series of solo trips without Meghan.

In the last week and a half Harry has been reminding us of the various charities he is involved with, both in New York for several events and in London with WellChild, which helps seriously ill children and their families. He has been without Meghan.

The speech he gave at the WellChild Awards was from the heart and he interacted wonderfully well with the children and their parents. It brings back memories of the Prince who once had so special a part in our national life.

There has, so far anyway, been an absence of the fateful television interviews which have led to so much mistrust. Harry’s appearance on Good Morning America after he saw his father when he flew over after King Charles’s cancer diagnosis, was unwise.

He didn’t reveal what they talked about but did say that illness could bring families together. However the Royal Family can never be sure what the Sussexes would reveal to the media.

At the Wellchild Awards, he seemed so natural. He has, after all, been attached to this wonderful charity for over 15 years. Like the Invictus Games and Sentebale, named after Princess Diana’s favourite flower, meaning forget-me-not in SeSotho, it was part of the unique way he developed his charitable activities before he married. No one could appear more natural or more caring, there were echoes here of his mother.

His solo trip to South Africa and Lesotho will also bring back memories. It was in South Africa that Harry and Meghan revealed in an ITV interview how unhappy they were as senior working royals which led to the current bitter rift. His love of Africa stretches back to his gap year in 2004 when he was in Lesotho for two months. His trip there, also solo, seems certain to be successful.

This raises the issue of security. If he wins his case in the Court of Appeal and has automatic security, he is likely to be a more frequent visitor to Britain. If he loses it, surely a gesture that allows him and his family to be in the ‘other VIP’ category would be wise. There is a threat from right-wing extremists and we know how tormented he has been following his mother’s tragic death.

On the debit side, his memoir Spare, is soon released in paperback. It will probably sell well but was very ill-advised, leading to the Sussexes’ eviction from Frogmore. If he does not appear much in his docuseries on polo for Netflix as is reported, few are likely to watch. The Sussexes might not get their $100million contract renewed next year which would be disastrous. Perhaps they will need the image and the charm of the Harry we used to know all the more. We all could do with more of it.

He told MailOnline: ‘The speech he gave at the WellChild Awards was from the heart and he interacted wonderfully well with the children and their parents. It brings back memories of the Prince who once had so special a part in our national life.

‘At the Wellchild Awards, he seemed so natural. He has, after all, been attached to this wonderful charity for over 15 years.

‘Like the Invictus Games and Sentebale, named after Princess Diana’s favourite flower, meaning forget-me-not in SeSotho, it was part of the unique way he developed his charitable activities before he married. No one could appear more natural or more caring – there were echoes here of his mother.’

Mr Fitzwilliams pointed out that there has so far ‘been an absence of the fateful television interviews which have led to so much mistrust’, adding: ‘The Royal Family can never be sure what the Sussexes would reveal to the media.’

He continued: ‘His solo trip to South Africa and Lesotho will also bring back memories. It was in South Africa that Harry and Meghan revealed in an ITV interview how unhappy they were as senior working royals which led to the current bitter rift.

‘His love of Africa stretches back to his gap year in 2004 when he was in Lesotho for two months. His trip there, also solo, seems certain to be successful.’

Harry lost a High Court challenge against the Home Office in February over a decision to change the level of his personal security when he visits the UK, but he has been given the green light to appeal.

And Mr Fitzwilliams said: ‘If he wins his case in the Court of Appeal and has automatic security, he is likely to be a more frequent visitor to Britain. If he loses it, surely a gesture that allows him and his family to be in the ‘other VIP’ category would be wise.

‘There is a threat from right-wing extremists and we know how tormented he has been following his mother’s tragic death.’

He continued: ‘On the debit side, his memoir Spare, is soon released in paperback. It will probably sell well but was very ill-advised, leading to the Sussexes’ eviction from Frogmore.

‘If he does not appear much in his docuseries on polo for Netflix as is reported, few are likely to watch. The Sussexes might not get their $100million contract renewed next year which would be disastrous.

‘Perhaps they will need the image and the charm of the Harry we used to know all the more. We all could do with more of it.’

Meanwhile royal author Phil Dampier said Harry ‘showed his best side’ in London, but it was ‘too early to say he has turned over a new leaf’.

He told MailOnline: ‘If Harry does more WellChild style events and less whinging, I’m all in favour of it. He showed his best side the other day in London and now he’s carrying on good work in Lesotho and South Africa with his Sentebale project.

‘But I think it’s too early to say he has turned over a new leaf. He has new PR people and I’m sure they’ve told him he has to stop moaning and slagging off the royal family as people are sick of that, not just in the UK but also in the US and all over the world.’

Mr Dampier continued: ‘Now it seems he is striking out on his own and doing things without her (Meghan) and maybe that’s the way forward.

She can concentrate on her American Riviera Orchard products and make money for the family, and he should go back to helping good causes.’

He added: ‘So If the old Harry comes back that’s a good thing. But it’s going to take a lot more than a just a couple of weeks of headline-catching jobs to win back the trust of his family and the affection of the public.’

Mr Dampier – author of the 2018 book ‘Royally Suited: Harry And Meghan In Their Own Words’ – encouraged Harry to drop his High Court challenge against the Home Office.

He also urged Harry and Meghan to visit her estranged father Thomas Markle ‘before it’s too late’, adding: ‘And then, after several months of silence about the royals, there might be a chance of a reconciliation with the King.’

But, speaking about his brother, Mr Dampier said: ‘As for William, forget it. I don’t think he will ever forgive his brother.

Having said all this, Harry still can’t be half in and half out of the Royal Family, so he is going to have to pick and choose his causes. He certainly won’t get any royal patronages or military titles back.’

Hilary Rose, author of new royal parody The Secret Diary of Queen Camilla, told The Times: ‘This week, out of the blue, we might have glimpsed the future, instead of raking up the past. Why? Because Harry undertook a solo, largely unheralded, blink-and-you’ll miss-it trip to London.

‘For the first time in years he went to an awards ceremony to present an award, not to receive one. For the first time in years he arrived looking cheerful, not cross, gave a speech paying tribute to others, not himself, and brought joy to the people he met.

‘In short, he did the royal job he was trained to do from birth and he did it brilliantly. Look, I may be getting carried away here. This may be a false dawn. But it might be time to cautiously say welcome back, Harry. We missed you.’

Harry’s brief trip to the UK came as relations with his brother Prince William remained strained.

Despite travelling thousands of miles from his home in California, it is unlikely the Duke visited William or his father King Charles III, who is receiving treatment for cancer.

In past years Harry has been joined by wife Meghan at the awards, but he travelled alone to London from their home in the celebrity enclave of Montecito, where the couple established a new life for themselves and their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.

There was no indication that Harry had asked to stay in a royal residence during his trip to the UK.

Despite Meghan and the children not being there, Harry appeared to be enjoying himself on Monday – and before the ceremony began was upstaged by a boisterous seven-year-old, Noah Nicholson.

The boy threw his toys on the floor and delighted in Harry picking them up. He also tried to have a feel of Harry’s beard.

While Harry met Noah, who has cerebral palsy, chronic lung disease and other serious health issues, he chatted to the youngster and his mother, Tracey Nicholson, 42, from Grimsby.

The seven-year-old brought his prized comfort toys – George the cat and Ratty the Giraffe in the shape of a blanket – and delighted in throwing them on to the floor.

When Ms Nicholson said sorry for her son’s antics, Harry replied: ‘Don’t apologise, I love it.’

Noah’s mother said afterwards: ‘He’s in constant pain but is always happy and smiley. He’s just a very excitable boy and when he’s around people he just loves it.

‘Nothing ever gets him down, he never cries unless the pain gets the better of him. He’s seriously ill fighting for his life so much, but he’s so happy.’

The Duke was clearly happy to be meeting the youngsters and celebrities – including former Strictly dancer Oti Mabuse and singer Beverley Knight.

Harry told the young people and their families: ‘Thank you for your courage, your perseverance, your kindness and of course your humour. And thank you for being you and uplifting all those around you. The WellChild Awards is an event that never fails to inspire me.

‘The stories of young people who battle against the odds, living lives filled with medical procedures, hospital stays and endless appointments, remind us all of the strength of the human spirit.

‘For many of us it is a daily life we can hardly imagine, and yet somehow, the young people I meet are always smiling and every room they walk into seemingly lights up with warmth and positivity.’

Harry also spoke about his role as a father in his speech, saying: ‘As a parent, I know a little about the emotional rollercoaster of parenting.

‘But, when I hear about the care many of you mums, dads and family members provide; the level of round-the-clock care you offer; the skills you’ve had to learn; and the battles for support that you fight every single day – I am truly in awe.’

The WellChild Awards also celebrate the inspiring qualities of health, social care and education professionals and among the other famous faces watching the ceremony was Sir Rod Stewart and his wife Penny Lancaster. It comes after Harry has carried out a series of public appearances over the past month after he celebrated his 40th birthday on September 15.

He was in New York last week, where he called on governments to work more closely with young people, warning about the online dangers children faced and criticising the leaders of social media companies for not doing more to protect them.

He also appeared in a segment on the NBC flagship late-night talk programme The Tonight Show, where he was shown shouting and swearing as he joined the host Jimmy Fallon walking through a ‘haunted maze’ attraction.

Prince Archie follows ‘dinner table rule’ enforced by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to want a “normal life” for their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Prince Archie follows a strict rule when it comes to sitting around the dinner table at home in California, a remark by the Duchess of Sussex has led to believe.

During her previous interview with The Cut in 2022, Meghan Markle shared that she is eager for her children to grow up with impeccable manners – with them learning these at home.

At the time, she revealed that the couple were trying to teach Archie – who is now aged five – that good manners are vital.

Discussing what they tell Archie at home, she told the publication: “We always tell him: Manners make the man. Manners, manners, manners, manners, manners.”

PEOPLE previously reported that Meghan and Harry hoped to give Archie “as normal a life as possible” by relocating to America after stepping back from their roles as senior royals in 2020. The couple went on to welcome daughter Princess Lilibet, now aged three, in 2021.

Speaking to The Cut, Meghan also revealed that Archie – who was three at the time – was already popular with other students.

The proud mum described her son as “the cheerful kid who brings a week’s worth of freshly picked fruit for his fellow classmates and enjoys playing a ‘roaring’ game at recess.’”

Archie was less than one year old when he moved to the US with his parents. He spent the first months of his life at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

Having moved away from the realms of royal life, Archie and Lilibet are said to have a “relaxed upbringing” as opposed to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Style expert Bella Hignett claimed to GB News that this is evident in the clothing chosen for their children by Meghan and Harry.

She said: “Archie and Lilibet will still have to have a modicum of restraint when dressing. But they will be far less formal. This will be exacerbated by growing up in California where dress is much more relaxed and laid-back.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly bought a new home in Portugal, and the move could help Harry to reconnect with his cousin Princess Eugenie

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who stepped back from Royal duties four years ago and relocated to the USA, are rumoured to be expanding their property portfolio with a stunning new holiday home in Portugal.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly purchased a new residence in Portugal, according to MailOnline, which could potentially grant them a ‘Golden Visa’ for visa-free access to the European Union’s Schengen area.

While unconfirmed, this move could mend Harry’s strained family ties by allowing him to reconnect with his cousin, Princess Eugenie, who also owns a property in Portugal.

Despite the distance, Harry has maintained close relations with Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, who have provided support amid his familial tensions.

Following last year’s Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Harry and Meghan visited Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank at their home in the CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club, located south of Lisbon, enjoying a “short stay” themselves, reports The Mirror.

Prince Harry has been reluctant to bring his young family to the UK over security concerns

A move to Portugal could bring Prince Harry closer to his cousin and significantly reduce his travel time to the UK compared to his current base in California.

This could increase the likelihood of him making short, last-minute trips to accommodate a busy Royal schedule, especially after being denied an audience with his father, King Charles, earlier this year due to scheduling conflicts.

Non-stop flights between the UK and Portugal typically take 2 to 3 hours, which would allow the Prince to return home more easily and frequently – potentially easing the ongoing tensions with his brother, Prince William.

Harry has frequently expressed a desire to reconnect with his family in recent years, and a shorter travel distance would also enable him to play a more active role in UK organisations and causes close to his heart – something he is thought to have missed while living in the US.

Unfortunately, security concerns following the withdrawal of his police protection when he stepped down from Royal duties have prevented him from travelling to the UK as often as he would like.

This is also a key reason why he has not travelled to the UK with his wife Meghan and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, due to safety concerns.

The couple’s prior European home, Frogmore Cottage, was given to them by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex renovated Frogmore to the tune of $3 million, a sum at first paid for by the British taxpayer through the Sovereign Grant and later reimbursed by the royals.

Harry and Meghan lived at Frogmore only briefly, having left it behind when they stepped down from their roles as senior working members of the royal family in 2020.

Eugenie and Brooksbank then took over the lease, so to speak, and lived there for a period of time. Harry and Meghan are reportedly quite close with Eugenie and Brooksbank, who were the only members of the royal family to be featured in their Netflix docuseries.

Harry and Meghan’s ouster from Frogmore occurred shortly after the prince released his memoir “Spare,” which spared neither Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William nor Kate Middleton from its rehashings of royal drama. The home was then offered to Princess Eugenie’s father, Prince Andrew, who reportedly turned it down because it was not grand enough for him.

Prince Harry returned to his homeland on his own earlier this year for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, and appeared to scoff when a cameraman asked him if he was happy to be home.

The Duke didn’t see his father, King Charles, during the visit due to “His Majesty’s full programme”, a fact which did little to quell rumours that the infamous royal rift is far from healed.

Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, haven’t travelled back to Britain together since the funeral of the late Queen in September 2022, and don’t have any public plans to do so soon.

So what do you think? Should Meghan and Harry visit the UK more often? Vote in the poll and join the debate in the comments below. Can’t see the poll? Click here.

Last week,Express.co.uk reported that the couple and their two young children — Archie, five and Lilibet, three — won’t be travelling back to the UK for Christmas this year, despite receiving a family Christmas invite to Althorp by Harry’s uncle, Charles Spencer.

The Duke’s long-standing concerns and legal action over his family’s safety in the UK is believed to be a major factor in his decision not to bring the whole Sussex clan home for a visit.

However, with news emerging that the couple has recently bought a property in Portugal — much closer to the UK than their permanent residence in California — speculation is mounting that they might be hoping for more opportunities to visit family in the UK.
