Mickey Rourke axed from Celebrity Big Brother house over inappropriate behaviour

Celebrity Big Brother star Mickey Rourke is leaving the Big Brother house, a spokesperson said

Mickey Rourke, who has caused a stir during his short time on the show, has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house following a string of offensive comments made towards the housemates, an ITV spokesperson has said.

They said: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour

It comes after he was warned by Celebrity Big Brother bosses about his behaviour in the house, which saw him make homophobic and fat-shaming comments to fellow housemates JoJo Siwa and Donna Preston.

In the moments before he walked into the Big Brother house, he already shocked the crowd when fans accused him of staring down host AJ Odudu as she introduced herself to him before he started to grab onto her and touch her excessively.

Things quickly went even worse when Mickey was distracted by the live audience and attempted to give them all a high-five before making his way through the doors into the house.

The actor was taking a long time with the audience that host AJ had to push him into the house before he tried to drag her in there with him.

After the awkward altercation, fans flocked to X to share their concern for host AJ, as one wrote: “Someone get some security for AJ from Mickey Rourke because what the hell was that????” Another shared: “Mickey’s entrance is the strangest entrance I think there’s ever been on this show. Poor AJ.”

After entering the show, he made homophobic comments towards JoJo Siwa and claimed he could ‘turn her straight’. During a chat, he asked JoJo: “Where’s the smoke room? Where’s the cigarette room?,” before then asking: “Do you like girls or boys?”

“Me? Girls. My partner is non-binary,” JoJo replied, before Mickey said: “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.” JoJo then answered: “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”

As he walked into the garden, Mickey asked Chris if they would get to choose who they voted out. He told the Love Island star: “I’m going to vote the lesbian out real quick.” JoJo overheard and replied: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.”

At one point while talking about having a smoke, he said: “I need a fag,” before gesturing to JoJo and saying: “I’m not talking to you.” Chris Hughes then interjected and said: “Mickey, you can’t say that.”

Big Brother gave him a stern warning at the time and said to him in the Diary Room: “Mickey before you entered the Big Brother house the rules regarding unacceptable language and behaviour were explained to you … Mickey, do you understand how this language could be offensive to your Housemates or the viewing public?

“Yeah I think so. If I was saying it in a nasty kind of way or if I truly meant it,” Mickey then replied, with Big Brother saying back: “Mickey, Big Brother thinks your language was offensive and unacceptable …

“As a result, Big Brother is giving you a formal warning. Further language or behaviour of this nature could lead to you being removed from the Big Brother house. Mickey, do you understand?”

Mickey then answered: “Yes I do. It’s some serious stuff …. I apologise. I don’t have dishonourable intentions – I’m just talking smack you know. I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean in it any bad intentions and if I did, sorry.”

He made fat-shaming comments towards Donna PrestonDuring a conversation with Donna Preston, Mickey told her she’d “probably be better off running around the block for ten minutes” when he asked her if she saw any results from her LED face mask.

In a recent episode, Patsy Palmer was left in tears when Mickey made comments about her cooking.

The EastEnders star went to the diary room to become upset after Mickey said that she was a terrible cook, with Patsy telling Big Brother: “I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves.”

“Sorry,” she said, breaking down in tears. “I tried to talk that one out but it didn’t really work. I feel like I let myself down there and I don’t want my reactions to be like that.

“I always want my kids to always stand up for themselves. Maybe it was just a joke – maybe I need to look at it like that. I need to try to rise above it. It doesn’t mean I have to like him.”

Mickey was unaware that he had upset Patsy, and he didn’t let the issue drop – later telling Big Brother that they need to invest in providing better food for the contestants. “I think in future, you guys should hire really good chefs to feed the people,” he said.

  • Stacey Solomon’s parenting hacks from ‘free day out’ to entertaining at home for less than £5

Stacey Solomon’s parenting hacks from ‘free day out’ to entertaining at home for less than £5

When it comes to saving money during the school holidays, most parents would appreciate a little help and TV personality and mummy influencer Stacey Solomon has a few unusual ideas that are worth a try

    Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon
Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon have six children between them

She may have first caught our attention with her singing abilities on the X Factor, but it would seem Stacey Solomon knows a thing or two about parenting. Stacey was a teenager when she had her eldest son Zachary, now 17, and went on to have Leighton who is 12, then Rex, 5, Rose, 3, and one-year-old Belle with husband Joe Swash, 43.

And the former Loose Women panellist who now presents Sort Your Life Out on BBC One is also step-mum to Joe’s 17-year-old son, Harry. While the couple aren’t short of a bob or two – they are reported to have a combined net worth of just less than £9m – they do love a great hack. They recently revealed that they sometimes take all of their bumper brood to other kids’ birthday parties so “they don’t get invited again.”

The mum revealed she gets away with the sneaky party hack by asking parents if siblings are allowed, without telling them there will be four siblings coming along. “It’s a free day out and they all get lunch,” Stacey added. “If the parent says yes I’m like ‘Bam! It’s party time’,” Stacey laughed.

Stacey also recently shared a brilliant way to keep kids entertained during the school holidays and it costs next to nothing. All you need is just two ingredients – plain flour and coconut oil – and if you don’t have them in the house already they’ll cost you about a fiver.

In a clip uploaded to Instagram, Stacey posted a video of herself making ‘homemade play sand’ with the help of her kids, Rex, 4, Rose 2, and one-year-old Belle. “Making our own sand with flour and coconut is better than ordering sand and ending up with a Ton of it like I did a few years ago,” Stacey wrote.

Stacey has also shared how she keeps things tidy – something most parents find more difficult during the school holidays when the kids are at home – by dedicating 15-20 minutes each day to tidying up.

Meanwhile, the Sort Your Life Out presenter uses baking soda for a variety of cleaning tasks and revealed a clever trick for eliminating stubborn sealant mould in a recent episode.

Cleaning expert Iwan Carrington, who works with Stacey on the show, headed to the bathroom to share a “really easy” mould removal hack. Pointing out the mould growth on the sealant by the bath, Iwan said: “All you need to do is get some neat bleach and then just run a line of it along that sealant.”

To hold the cleaning product in place, the expert covered the area with cotton wool balls. He continued: “We are going to leave this overnight, and by the morning they’ve had a nice little party together and it’s all going to be back to lovely and white.”

I’m A Celebrity’s GK Barry admits footballer girlfriend is ‘embarrassed’ by her

EXCLUSIVE GK Barry rose to fame on TikTok before becoming a firm fan favourite on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! But the star admits she used to be ‘painfully shy’

    GK Barry
GK Barry is opening up about life with her footballer girlfriend

After leaving I’m A Celebrity viewers in stitches with her deadpan humour and witty asides, GK Barry walked out of the jungle as the people’s princess. She was arguably the latest series’ biggest winner – going from a lesser-known influencer and podcaster, compared to her celebrity campmates, to a huge telly name with opportunities galore landing at her feet.

GK – real name Grace Keeling – proved such a hit that TV channels, streamers and brands clambered to work with her. Since jetting back from down under, she’s firmly established herself on Loose Women, teased a series with her I’m A Celeb pal Reverend Richard Coles and is about to embark on her own podcast tour.

“Younger me would never, ever believe what I’m doing now, ever,” she admits to OK! in our exclusive catch-up. “Even looking back at the younger me, she would never have been able to do that. It’s a lot about confidence. I faked it a lot.”

    GK and Ella

Not that you would know from the happy-go-lucky GK everyone now sees. Grace, 25, admits she was “painfully shy” as a child and the only people she could be truly herself around was a close-knit group of friends. “I wasn’t a looker, I’ll be honest with you,” she remembers, in her self-deprecating way. “I was very tall, lanky.

“I tried to look a bit like Amy Winehouse and Amy is the only one that can really pull that off. I was doing crazy makeup looks. I had braces and glasses and it was a lot. I was seen as very weird. I was also very socially awkward so I just couldn’t really speak to people in a normal way. If you’re not (pretty), you have to have a personality. So I started building that up.”

Cambridge-born Grace began posting clips on social media platform TikTok in 2020 while completing a film studies degree at Nottingham Trent University.

Loretta Bruce, Grace Keeling, GK Barry, Nadia Sawalha
GK is the youngest panellist on Loose Women

“I saw that people actually resonated with what I was saying and found me funny, I think that’s where my confidence grew,” explains Grace. “And I could also hide behind the GK Barry persona.” After just a year of posting lifestyle videos, she surpassed one million followers – the start of her meteoric rise.

Her podcast Saving Grace often tops the charts and she’s a hit on Loose Women. She recently presented at the BRIT Awards and there are more TV projects in the works. Her lack of filter is telly gold with a clip of her talking to retired vicar Richard, 63, on I’m A Celeb about her sex life going viral.

“I was definitely educating the nation with scissoring, which I think it needed,” chuckles Grace. She and the Rev have enjoyed a succession of post-show activities, which TV insiders say is being turned into a hilarious reality series with cameras following the pair.

“There may be some stuff in the future with me and Rev that people should look out for,” teases Grace. “He’s like my iconic uncle. We met up the other day, he had a tea and I had a Prosecco. That sums us up.”

    Grace
GK Barry was in a relationship with a man until splitting earlier last year

If their jungle chat was anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat when their secret project is finally revealed. Until then, we can get our fix of Grace’s hilarious anecdotes on ITV’s Loose Women.

She admits she was worried her potty mouth might get her in trouble on the panel show. “It’s been a good learning curve because I’m able to get my opinions across and not swear,” she explains.

“That was actually difficult for me. The first few episodes, all I could think of was ‘Don’t swear, don’t swear, don’t swear.’

“It was really distracting. Now I think it’s actually quite a good skill that I’ve learned to be able to speak and you don’t have to throw in some sort of f-bomb.”

Born in the same year Loose Women was launched, being the youngest panellist hasn’t stopped Grace from forming close bonds with her more experienced co-stars.

    GK Barry
GK is also the host of her podcast Saving Grace

“I’m as old as the show,” she laughs. “I was really scared going into it and I think that probably showed in my first couple of episodes. I wasn’t very opinionated or I wouldn’t get involved in the conversation.

“After spending three weeks in the jungle with Jane Moore, she said, ‘Say your piece.’ So I did. I feel more confident there. It’s the best show I’ve worked on as everyone is so nice.”

Before she went into the jungle, Grace was private about her relationship with Ipswich Town footballer Ella Rutherford, who she met last year. But she became an open book on I’m A Celeb, often at the expense of 24-year-old Ella, who became the talk of the changing rooms.

“Oh my God, there’ve been so many times I’ve embarrassed Ella,” laughs Grace. “I am quite a dramatic person so I’ll over-tell a story. She’s like, ‘I have to go into football. And the people on my team have heard you say that we’ve done some weird thing but it wasn’t like that.’ She’s a professional athlete and I’m just sitting there running my mouth on social media.”

It seems Grace is building her career on “running her mouth”. “I’m learning to not contain it – but I’m definitely learning my social cues. I see the shock on people’s faces. Not everyone is a sexual innuendo type of person,” she says. “Sometimes I’m like, ‘I’ve just said that to an 80-year-old woman.’ So that’s probably not reading the room very well. But most of the time it does land well and it is my personality, so people have to just take it.”

    GK
GK is also the host of her podcast Saving Grace

The new love in her life is Noodle, an eight-month-old Asian toy poodle who is keeping Grace and Ella on their toes. Grace says, “Every day at 6am I’ll wake up to him chewing my hair extensions. He sleeps on top of my head in the bed.

“He’s destroying everything. He chewed one of Ella’s really expensive shoes. He just loves to poo all over the floor even though he is toilet trained. So he’s a bundle of joy.”

And she is thoroughly enjoying her life of domestic bliss with Ella. She says, “It’s just really wholesome, I love it. It’s nice because before, I lived alone. It was just a bit boring. So now I feel like I have a purpose.

“I’ve got to get up and walk the dog. Ella’s role is to clean. She’s so good at cleaning. She wears the trousers, I will say that.

“I’ll cook her dinner, hopefully she survives, then we’ll all watch a series in bed. On the weekends I’ll go to her games.”

    GK Barry
GK says she finds it difficult to get her head around some days

And, in turn, Ella will be cheering Grace on from the sides when she goes on her UK and Ireland podcast tour later this year.

Grace says, “Every show we have a different special guest from every field of entertainment. There are people you’ve seen me with before, there are people you haven’t. The vibes will be good.”

She is, of course, loving this new-found fame, but she admits she does find it difficult to get her head around some days.

“I get a lot of impostor syndrome. But I am confident in the fact I know I’m good at what I do and I deserve to be where I am. I’m just enjoying every moment of it.”

Melanie Sykes’ health battles in full as she reveals torment over Gino D’Acampo claims

Melanie Sykes has bravely opened up about her health battles over the years. The TV personality revealed she’d recently been suffering from ‘alopecia and heart issues’

Over the years, Melanie Sykes has opened up about the health battles she’s been facing behind the scenes. In a new update shared with her fans, the 54 year old took to social media to reveal she’d been experiencing “alopecia and heart issues” over recent months as she detailed what’d been going on away from the spotlight.

This isn’t the first time that Melanie has bravely shone a light on her health issues. In November 2021, The Big Breakfast star described the “life-affirming” moment she received an autism diagnosis at the age of 51 as she recalled how the diagnosis had allowed her to make sense of her life.

    Melanie Sykes

“This week has been truly life-changing. Or rather, life affirming. As many of you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with autism late Thursday afternoon. And then, finally, so many things made sense,” she wrote in a social media post.

The TV star continued: “I cannot begin to tell you the sense of relief this is for me and how much I celebrate this diagnosis. I now have a deeper understanding of myself, my life, and the things I have endured.”

Further opening up about her diagnosis on Loose Women, the mum-of-two revealed how she’d been working on a documentary with Harry Thompson, who is autistic, about the failures of the education system when he began to suspect that she might be autistic or have ADHD.

“Ten minutes in he thought I might have an ADHD profile, and autistic profile because of how I was,” she explained. “I know now what makes me autistic and it’s the fabric of me… and I think I’m fantastic!”

“I’m here for everyone who’s autistic,” she said. “It’s a good thing, because it’s not a disorder… it’s the things that we can do!”

With her diagnosis coming during adulthood, the TV presenter was then asked whether she’d have done anything differently had her diagnosis come sooner. “I would have asked for more of what I needed… there was a lot of sensitivities that I would have dealt with,” she replied.

Two years later, in 2023, the former radio presenter released her memoir Illuminated: Autism & All The Things I’ve Left Unsaid which detailed her story of getting her autism and ADHD diagnoses and aimed to raise awareness of the conditions.

“My diagnosis made me realise just who I actually am and what I’ve been hiding, because it hasn’t been required of me. It’s not even been asked of me. Can you imagine being in broadcasting, but people don’t really want to know the true you?,” she told the Chris Evans Breakfast Show.

“You become a certain way due to exterior forces. And I no longer do that. I am the force. I am my own force and I will operate in every which way I choose. I just had to remove myself from industries that don’t take care of you.”

In a new update, Melanie revealed that she has been experiencing alopecia and heart issues. In an Instagram post, the TV personality shared a snap in which she pointed out a bald spot on her head and explained how she’d taken the photo while she was in London investigating “some health issues”.

She wrote: “I am experiencing alopecia and heart issues due to all that has happened over the last few months. PTSD, shock, mistreatment and malpractice,” before encouraging fans to watch a YouTube video she’d uploaded on the topic.

In the 30-minute-long YouTube video, Melanie detailed her health struggles and parted sections of her hair to reveal her hair loss, noting how she’d also been struggling with stress and insomnia. The star explained how she developed a heart problem amid the allegations against her former colleague Gino D’Acampo.

Gino was accused of allegations of inappropriate and intimidating behaviour over a 12-year period, which he has vehemently denied. In February, ITV News said they had spoken to “over 40 people” in an investigation into the TV chef’s alleged behaviour.

Melanie worked with the chef on ITV’s Let’s Do Lunch with Gino and Mel from 2011 to 2014 and opened up about her experiences with “misogyny” in the TV industry. “I’m experiencing alopecia in quite a significant way. I’ve lost inches off my hairline at the back and probably got half my hair at the moment,” she said in the video. After detailing how she felt like she’d been dismissed by several cardiologists because of her autism and ADHD, Melanie eventually found a specialist who took her seriously.

“I’m having a heart monitor sent to the house and I have got to wear it for two days to monitor the sound of it,” she revealed.

The Mirror has contacted Gino’s reps for comment.

It’s been quite a wild ride. Five years ago, she was working at Costa Coffee and trying to figure out where to go with her career.

Now a household name, she admits her fame has not only given her a community, but also boosted her independence.

Born in the same year Loose Women was launched, being the youngest panellist hasn’t stopped Grace from forming close bonds with her more experienced co-stars. And although it’s a far cry from daily vlogs, she’s clearly a natural on the ITV chat show – and adores the experience.

“I’m as old as the show,” she laughs, speaking exclusively to OK! “I was really scared going into it and I think that probably showed in my first couple of episodes. I wasn’t very opinionated or I wouldn’t get involved in the conversation.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, Grace gained traction on TikTok and has since been making waves beyond her hilarious lifestyle and comedy clips. With over 3.6 million followers on TikTok, the social media sensation has also amassed over 270 million likes on the platform.

In November last year, Grace opened up about joining the daytime show, GK – who spent part of her childhood in the British Virgin Islands before moving back to the UK at the age of eight – said, “It’s iconic that I’m the youngest one there. I feel like I’ve actually done something. I can give my two cents, and everyone has to listen to it.

“I feel like [our generation] is overlooked,” GK – who is joined by fellow Loose Woman, Jane, in camp – continued. “Because we’re ‘young’, you know? And when we have our meetings, that always sparks a new conversation. I like to bring a different perspective to the show.”

    GK Barry
GK rose from fame as a TikTok star

The star added, “I feel like it’s quite nice to maybe get a different, like another demographic, listening to me. Obviously, I’ve got Gen Z down but I think it would be nice to have, like, a bit of a different audience as well to be included in so, yeah, I think it’s quite exciting.”

It’s also clear that GK Barry’s influence extends far beyond social media. In April 2022, during lockdown, she launched her own podcast, Saving Grace, which went on to stratospheric success. Since then, she has interviewed a whole host of star-studded guests on the pod, including Gemma Collins, Chris Hughes, Katie Price and Louie Spence.

The podcast’s success led to a UK tour, with sold-out shows from February to March 2024 and hosted a Christmas party like no other, at the iconic OVO Arena Wembley as part of her Saving Grace XXXMas Special in December.

I’m A Celebrity star GK Barry has spoken out about her and footballer girlfriend Ella Rutherford’s marriage plans, confirming “it’s going to happen”.

Ella, 24, who plays for Premier League side Ipswich Town, has been dating the social media influencer – whose real name is Grace Keeling – since early 2024. The couple, who have been “inseparable” since they started dating, are even discussing getting married and having children together.

Comedian GK appeared on the most recent series of I’m A Celeb, after finding fame thanks to her podcast Saving Grace. Her and Ella first made contact when Grace followed the footballer on social media, while Ella recovered from knee surgery.

They went on to share a holiday together and met each other’s families. And now GK has confirmed that the she knows her partner will pop the question – but only when they have spent time building their careers.

Grace told The Sun on Sunday that they both want to settle down and have children, saying: “One day, it’s going to happen. Not yet. We’re both set on doing well in our careers. Then she’ll get down on one knee!”

GK also joked there was one habit that almost got in the way of their blossoming romance, when the social media influencer took issue with one of Ella’s staple meals. The football star would reportedly only eat “mince and eggs”, which GK admits was “a bit of an ick”.

Elsewhere in the interview, GK discussed how she went from working in Costa to being a panellist on Loose Women. The 25-year-old admitted her parents were apprehensive about her packing in her ‘normal’ job to commit to her media career.

The film studies graduate said she started to upload TikTok videos during the pandemic, discussing her “uni experiences, exes and nights out”, but didn’t think anybody would watch them. GK amassed an incredible 100k viewers in just six months, hitting the one million milestone just a couple of months later.

Following her I’m A Celeb stint, GK’s profile rocketed and she is now looking forward to reuniting with her jungle bestie Rev Richard for an upcoming project. She has also set her sights on 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, as well as heading out on her upcoming Saving Grace tour, which kicks off in September.

Coleen Rooney taking action to ‘settle feuds’ among I’m A Celeb co-stars

Coleen Rooney has reportedly arranged a party for her I’m A Celebrity campmates in a bid to end the “various feuds” that have erupted during the latest series of the beloved show

Coleen Rooney has embarked on a mission to act as “peacemaker”(Image: Getty Images)

Coleen Rooney has reportedly stepped in to mend the rifts among her fellow I’m A Celeb contestants after the intense 2024 series stirred up some conflict.

With a run of challenging trials, it’s hardly a shock that tempers flared amongst the ravenous stars, all vying for jungle glory.

However, Coleen Rooney, who secured second place, is said to be playing the role of “peacemaker” by hosting a post-jungle party at her Cheshire residence with aims to smooth over the “various feuds” that developed, as reported by Richard Eden of the Mail.

One notable clash in the camp involved Dean McCullough and Alan Halsall; the disagreement sparked when Loose Women panellist Jane Moore set out to gather firewood during her tenure as camp caretaker, reports Lancs Live.

Assigned to work alongside Jane, Dean was found dozing off. Alan tried to wake him politely to help out, but after an unenthusiastic response, Alan proceeded to aid Jane himself.

When Dean caught up, he told him he could go back and warned that if “you’re gonna wake me up, you need to give me a minute”.

Rumours have it that host Ant McPartlin was less than pleased with Dean following his performances in the Bushtucker Trials. He even labelled himself as the “bad cop” of the Ant and Dec duo, according to the Sun.

    No caption

Ant was reportedly taken aback by Dean’s demeanour after a trial, commenting that he seemed to be “loving life” when he had anticipated him to appear a “bit forlorn” and a “bit sad”.

After having a “word” with the contestant, Dean declared he was “going to change the narrative”, to which Ant responded: “You can only change the narrative by sticking with it and getting on with it.”

Furthermore, Jane also sparked controversy after voicing her opinion on a decision made by the camp’s leaders, Barry McGuigan and Danny Jones, to reassign her chore to washing up.

The Loose Women star would become the first celebrity to be voted off the 2024 series, with McFly singer Danny Jones clinching the title and Rev Coles securing third place.

Earlier this month, Coleen made an appearance on This Morning following her I’m A Celeb success, with host Ben Shephard seemingly offering the WAG an opportunity.

Ben, 50, said: “What we would love, because to organise four boys like you do and your husband as well, we could do with some of that advice on This Morning.”

“Would you do some films for us where you can show us as so many parents need tips and stuff about organising and doing stuff?”

She responded: “I’ve always been like that, I think it’s the mum in me, I like to make sure everything is prepped and prepared in time.”

ITV Loose Women’s Gloria Hunniford opens up on tragic loss as she’s supported by co-stars

Gloria Hunniford found the courage to speak about her beloved late husband Stephen Way

Loose Women’s Gloria Hunniford opened up about the heartache she has faced since her husband Stephen Way died last August.

In a touching moment on Tuesday’s (January 28) episode, the seasoned broadcaster, 84, joined by Janet Street-Porter, 78, Lesley Joseph, 79, and Prue Leith, 84, spoke candidly about her sorrow during the special 70+ show.

While embracing the positives of growing older on air, the ladies acknowledged that reaching the golden years can sometimes bring loneliness and a need for morning exercises to ease the stiffness of age.

It was during this discussion about ageing that Gloria addressed her recent loss and confessed to the difficulties she’s experienced in living without Stephen.

Speaking from the heart, Gloria revealed to her colleagues: “If I may pick up on something Prue said, I very sadly lost my husband about four months ago and you’re absolutely right when you say you’d hate to be without your husband”, reports the Liverpool Echo.

She poured out her thoughts further: “Because no matter what age you are, if you suddenly think to yourself ‘gosh I am on my own and I’ve never lived on my own’.”

Gloria, a familiar face on television, then expressed: “I’m rarely on my own by the way because of family and everything but you know I have always lived with husbands,” before playfully ribbing Janet, saying: “I only had two of them, Janet you had about five.”

Janet chuckled in agreement, responding: “Yeah,” as her colleague continued on the topic of life changes: “I’ve always lived with husbands and children and so when your partner, as in my case, we had 30 fabulous years, I mean great memories and everything and people are rightly very quick to say ‘oh you have all those lovely memories to keep you going’.”

At that moment, Janet stepped in with a caring interjection to offer some advice, telling Gloria: “No, now you’ve got to build a new life now Gloria.”

In accord with Janet, she acknowledged: “Yes you do. Fortunately, I am a positive person and we have a phrase in our house, ‘what’s the alternative?’ and what it is the alternative? You’ve got to try and pick yourself up.”

Gloria sadly reflected on the loss of her husband Stephen last summer, with his family issuing a statement at the time which read: “It is with huge sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Stephen Way, Gloria’s beloved husband, who lost his battle yesterday afternoon. Stephen had been heroically fighting his illness… but always with great tenacity and a positive spirit.”

The Loose Women presenter has never shied away from discussing her husband’s medical struggles – Stephen experienced a heart attack in 2004 and encountered his first stroke in 2012. A subsequent stroke last year resulted in partial blindness for him.

Previously, Gloria had praised the NHS for its role in saving Stephen’s life after he was involved in a taxi accident in 2020 that resulted in a severe fracture at the base of his spine.

Stacey wrote: “Now I can FINALLY tell you that we’d been busy filming for ‘Stacey and Joe’ coming to the BBC later this year. It’s been such a big part of our lives… I love sharing what we do on Instagram, but this is capturing the laughs, tears and the craziness at Pickle Cottage in such a different way. On the actual TV.”

She thanked her fans for their support, saying: “It still feels surreal and I’m so nervous about it, but all your lovely comments have made such a difference. I’ll share more about the show when I can [heart emoji]. There’s honestly not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for every single one of you… You’re just the best mates I could ever ask for. Thank you xxx.”

Royal fans astonished by huge Prince George change at epic night out with dad William

Prince George and Prince William headed to Paris to cheer on their beloved Aston Villa on Wednesday – and royal watchers had a lot to say about the 11-year-old future King

Prince George made a surprise appearance alongside his dad to watch the football in Paris on Wednesday night – and he caused quite a stir amongst excited royal fans. George, 11, stood next to Prince William in the stands at the aptly-named Parc des Princes to cheer on their beloved Aston Villa as they took on PSG in the first leg of the Champions League’s quarter final.

Father and son were filmed enthusiastically celebrating together as their team took an early lead – but it wasn’t their night in the end, with French champions PSG coming back to win the game 3-1.

Unsurprisingly, all eyes were on the two future Kings, as well as the action on the pitch. And fans had plenty to say about William and Kate’s oldest child. First up, his height. Despite his age, George seems to have shot up in recent months, and looks set to follow in his 6ft 3in father’s footsteps – his mother Princess Kate is 5ft 9in.

Sharing a photo of William and George standing side by side at the match, one fan remarked on X: “Look at Prince George’s height! He is reaching his father’s. OMG he is only eleven!” A second added: “I can’t believe how tall George is getting!” And a third said: “Both his parents are tall, so he is very tall and handsome ( like his parents) it’s all in the genes!”

It wasn’t the only physical attribute that caught followers’ attention. Elsewhere, someone shared a side by side photo of Prince George and John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer. “He is resembling Princess Diana’s father,” they wrote, prompting a number of people to comment in agreement. “Madness how he is turning into a real Spencer,” one said. He definitely has the Spencer eyes. Handsome boy,” a second added. A third wrote: “He’s the image of his dad who is the image of his mum, so definitely a strong Spencer gene!”

Despite the disappointing result, William was clearly relishing spending time with George on the night. Speaking ahead of the game, the Prince said: “I thought: ‘You know what, it’s been 43 years since anything like this has happened in my generation as a Villa fan, and I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition’.

“I hope it’s not 43 years until the next one happens, but I think those memories are really important to create and bringing him along tonight is a big deal for me.”

William has been an avid supporter of Aston Villa for many years, and he previously explained how he landed on the Birmingham club in an interview with Gary Lineker in 2015. “A long time ago at school I got into football big time. I was looking around for clubs,” he said. “All my friends at school were either Man United fans or Chelsea fans and I didn’t want to follow the run of the mill teams.

“I wanted to have a team that was more mid-table that could give me more emotional rollercoaster moments. Aston Villa’s always had a great history.”

And while it’s clear that George has inherited William’s love of the club, the 42-year-old has insisted he will let his children pick their own teams. “I’m kind of hoping they’ll all find their own teams in time,” he previously said. “They don’t all have to be Villa fans.

“I’m trying not to be biased but obviously they see how passionate I am about it and they watch the matches with me. I’m trying to spread the love a little bit.”
