Rylan Clark notices ‘end of an era’ moment on Loose Women as studio change made

Loose Women is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week after first appearing on our screens in September 1999, with the ITV show making a change to the studio set

Loose Women has made a huge set change for their 25th anniversary, with Rylan Clark describing it as “the end of an era”.

The popular ITV daytime show has been on our screens since September 1999 and this week will celebrate its 25th anniversary. To mark the occasion, a new set of sliding doors has been erected right behind the panel, which panellists will walk out from ahead of every episode.

On Monday’s episode panellists Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, Dame Kelly Holmes and Brenda Edwards were the first to experience the set change. A behind-the-scenes post on the official Loose Women Instagram account shows the panellists being briefed by a staffer on their new entrance.

“We’ve got a new opening, we’ve got a new entrance,” Ruth tells the camera. “And so we’re now being taught how to walk. I need it! But there is a gap there so we might get our shoes caught.”

With Ruth and Coleen both wearing high-heels, Coleen quickly says: “Well me and you will.” The camera then pans to Kelly and Brenda, who can be seen wearing trainers, which they are rather proud about considering what they have just been told.

“And mind the step up,” Coleen tells Ruth. “Step up and the step down. One day, this is going to be on It’ll Be Alright on the Night.”

Brenda then attempts to get her fellow panellists into the spirit. “Come on girls! I mean, nobody else wants to pump it up,” she says.

After successfully walking through the sliding doors and taking their seats, Ruth thanks the crowd before saying: “That is our first ever entrance through the big doors. I was really nervous. I thought, ‘Don’t fall over!’”

The Instagram post which showed the behind-the-scenes clip has been liked more than 8,000 times while a number of people have taken to the comments. Among the people to comment was Rylan Clark, who simply said: “The end of an era!”

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX .

Linda Robson makes shock confession about her sex life as she moves on from husband

Loose Women star Linda Robson is known for never holding back and has now opened up about her sex life after splitting from her husband Mark Dunford

Linda Robson has shared a very candid admission about her sex life as she moves from her husband of 33 years.

The actress and presenter is known for her outbursts which often leave her Loose Women co-stars completely speechless but following break-up with husband, Mark Dunford, Linda has opened up about dating.

In a new admission, Linda revealed some shocking insights into her bedroom activity and explained why she believes she won’t be sleeping with anybody in a hurry. The Birds of A Feather icon revealed her choice of bedroom wear isn’t exactly what many men would appreciate.

“I was asked out for a drink a little while back, but I said no,” she revealed. Speaking on the Suddenly Single podcast, Linda went on to add: “I was scared, I think. My husband has never seen me naked, so I wasn’t going to let anyone else! I wear Granny nighties. Not exactly a turn on, is it?”

But Linda has already thought of what she would put on a dating profile if she signed up to the likes of Tinder or Raya: “Linda, national treasure!” she exclaimed. However, she is certain that she won’t be tying the knot again in the future. But while marriage isn’t on the cards, Linda admits she wants to meet somebody with a sense of humour.

She added: “They’ve got to be clean! I can see every little thing. If I was at a bus stop, I would start picking off fluff!” But Linda is also ruling out a possible friend with benefits, explaining: “No. I don’t know if it is being Catholic Irish. My mum was with my dad and she never met anyone else… I’ve got my kids and my grandchildren. I’m quite happy. I really don’t think I will change.”

Linda’s admission comes just after she snapped at her co-stars on the ITV panel after being grilled about a possible holiday romance. She previously revealed that she and Mark had “drifted apart” after 34 years of marriage, causing them to split.

During a recent instalment, while talking about holidays, anchor Kaye Adams explained that many people are falling for con artists who pretend to have fallen head over heels in love with somebody on holiday. Linda explained: “I’ve never had a holiday romance, I’ve only ever had two partners.”

“You don’t want one though do you,” added Denise as Linda shot back: “No, I don’t want one.” Shocked by her comments, Nadia chirped in, asking her: “Not even a kiss at the bar?” “No I kiss my grandchildren, that’ll do me,” retorted the ITV star. Her friend and former Corrie star Denise stepped in to defend her, saying: “The thing is I know you do not want a long-term partner,” but was interrupted by Linda who giggled: “You bought me a friend, didn’t you.”

Nadia was joined by show host Kaye Adams, alongside fellow panelists GK Barry and Frankie Bridge as the group began a discussion about using mobile phones being banned from restaurants on Thursday, September 5. As the debate got underway the women chatted about a bistro that banned the use of mobile phones a year ago.

Nadia, 59, then shared her opinion on the matter as she joined the chat. She said: “The thing is, I think where it goes wrong is we think it will make us less anxious but actually it’s anxiety that’s making us have the phone there.”

Kaye, 61, then swiftly replied that she had “got a cheek” as she stated that Nadia has “always got your bloomin’ phone!” Nadia, was not impressed by the outburst as she retorted: “Kaye Adams – do not, do not. Can we phone Jane? She’s in Barcelona.”

Nadia then pointed her finger at Kaye as she admitted she was “100% a phone addict”, but called out her co-star for her behaviour too. “100% I admit it – but you have a problem in restaurants with your phone. When we’re having dinner, me and Jane never have our phone out.”

Danielle has been open about her health battles and previously revealed she had a cyst on her ovary. Because of her endometriosis and adenomyosis, she underwent an operation to remove the cyst and as a result can no longer carry any children.

At the time, she recalled she had been rushed to hospital due to heavy bleeding and large blood clots. Worried, doctors did more tests and found cysts on her ovaries which were then tested for cancer.

Explaining how she had to act normal for the sake of her five kids, she said: “I was convinced I was going to die and was crying all the time. So when the doctor told me I was all clear, I felt this huge relief wash over me.”

  • Gino D’Acampo ‘incandescent with rage’ over Gordon Ramsay as feud escalates

Gino D’Acampo ‘incandescent with rage’ over Gordon Ramsay as feud escalates

Gordon Ramsay previously worked with Gino D’Acampo on at ITV show, but now Gino has reportedly accused both the chef and broadcaster of conspiring against him

Gino D’Acampo reportedly feels “hard done by” and has accused both ITV and his top chef pal of working against him amid his current sexual misconduct crisis.

The former This Morning star is under investigation after being accused of inappropriate behaviour dating back over 12 years, and ITV News revealed that over 40 people had been spoken to regarding his alleged wrongdoing – with the most recent complaint allegedly made in 2023.Gino, 48, has “firmly denied” the allegations, and reportedly blames both Gordon Ramsay and ITV for putting him in the situation. Gordon worked with Gino and fellow chef Fred Sirieix on the series Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip, which had several spin-off seeing the stars travelling together. An insider claimed that Gordon’s sudden departure from the show coincided too neatly with Gino’s investigation.

Gino D’Acampo Gordon Ramsay, and Fred Sirieix
A source said that lots of information coming out of Gordon’s camp has been very ‘anti-Gino’ every since the Hell’s Kitchen star stopped working with Gino and Fred Sirieix
“There has been a lot coming out about his time with Gordon Ramsay and it is very anti-Gino. One minute they are working together and the best of friends. Then he leaves the Road Trip series and he is basically finished within a couple of years,” they told the Mail Online.

A different person added that Gino also had beef with ITV, and that the broadcaster encouraged his cheeky chappie persona. They said that Gino was “told to behave as he did,” and so was confused by the sudden turn against him. “He will be making that clear when he thinks it’s time to speak out,” they added. The Mirror has reached out to Gino’s reps for comment.

Another friend of the star emphasised how much viewers seemed to enjoy Gino’s on-screen antics, and claimed that ITV was cutting Gino adrift despite benefitting from his popularity.

“He feels pretty hard done by. You have to wonder, ITV surely profited from all of this and now they are running away from it by getting rid of him,” they said.

“It appears to be a typical case of ITV realising that they wanted him to be a certain way – and then it blew up in their faces.”

Earlier this week, a source claimed that Gordon himself had made it clear that he had issues with Gino’s behaviour, and was ready to turn his back on his former friend.

“Gordon was horrified with what had gone on and felt it was time to step in and stop it,” the insider told the Mail Online.

They added: “He has three daughters and a wife, Tana, who he absolutely adores and felt it was disgusting. He wanted to change those ways but then it led to difficulties between them.

“Gordon found there was a lot of unacceptable behaviour going on, he saw things he didn’t think were okay so he spoke up. That was that, friendship over.” They added that the Ramsay family are said to be “throwing Gino under the bus.”

  • ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy was so painful, I had to leave the Premiere halfway through’

‘Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy was so painful, I had to leave the Premiere halfway through’

    * WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD * Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy presents a harrowing exploration of grief, loss, pain, and the enduring power of love – so this is a warning not to forget your tissues

Bridget Jones – she embodies the timeless charm of a woman both frazzled and steadfast, lost yet deeply rooted, as she bravely navigates the endless whirlwind of life’s trials and tribulations.

Arguably, she’s the woman of my generation. She has always been one of my biggest idols and inspirations, and she’s probably one of the reasons I became a journalist. A character so unapologetically herself, so cemented in who she is, it’s hard not to look up to a woman like her.

At the age of 32, an age similar to my own, she boasted a glorious one-bed apartment smack bang in central London (I could literally never).

Carelessly waltzing through the bustling Borough markets on her way home from an exciting day’s work with Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) she was seen contemplating which one of her posho loverboys she’d choose – before they ultimately descended into a war-like battle for her love – smashing birthday cakes and breaking windows along the way. (In stark comparison, my luck in the love department came to a bittersweet end just before Valentine’s Day. Brutal, I know).

There are so many differences and stark similarities between myself and the Bridget we all first met back in 2001. But it’s the 2025 version of Bridget – the grieving Bridget – that I have never related to more. So much so, that I had to exit my seat briefly at the London premiere earlier this month in a bid to escape the embarrassment of my flowing tears. I went to have a cry in the bathroom in peace (ballgown and all).

In Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Renée Zellweger, 55, reprises her iconic role, bringing depth and authenticity to a character who has matured gracefully over the years.

Directed by Michael Morris, this fourth installment in the series presents a poignant exploration of grief, loss, pain, and the enduring power of love – themes which hit me deeper than I thought a Bridget Jones movie could ever hit.

Set several years after the events of Bridget Jones’s Baby, the film opens with the heart-wrenching revelation that Bridget’s beloved husband, Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), has tragically passed away during a humanitarian mission.

Now a 51-year-old widow, Bridget is left to navigate life as a single mother to their two young children, Billy and Mabel. The weight of her loss is palpable, and the film does not shy away from depicting the raw, unvarnished reality of her grief.

Bridget dabbles in the world of dating apps - much to her dismay
Bridget dabbles in the world of dating apps – much to her dismay
As Bridget grapples with her sorrow, she learns profound lessons about the nature of grief and the necessity of moving forward. Encouraged by her ever-supportive friends – Jude (Shirley Henderson), Shazza (Sally Phillips), and Tom (James Callis) – she tentatively re-enters the dating scene.

This journey leads her to a summer romance with the youthful, spirited, and downright ride, Roxster (Leo Woodall), whose zest for life rekindles Bridget’s own sense of adventure and reminds her of the joy that still exists in the world.

Bridget’s exploration into the world of dating apps, f***boys, and avoidant men will be a stark reminder to all the singletons this Valentine’s Day. Bridget’s foray into online dating is nothing short of a tragicomedy, a Shakespearean farce set in the digital age.

Armed with a profile that reads something like “wine enthusiast, chaotic but well-intentioned, not here for ghosting (unless it’s Patrick Swayze),” she bravely swipes through an endless parade of avoidant commitment-phobes, gym bros with alarming protein shake-to-personality ratios, and men whose idea of romance is a “u up?” text at 11:47 PM.

Bridget is navigating her way through grief
Bridget is navigating her way through grief
Every single woman who has ever been in the trenches of dating apps will feel a deep, spiritual kinship with Bridget as she deciphers cryptic Hinge prompts like “I’ll introduce you to my mother when…” (spoiler: never) and dodges emotional unavailability like it’s a national sport.

Watching Bridget endure the modern horrors of “let’s keep it casual” will have audiences howling in recognition – because, let’s face it, nothing says 2025 romance quite like a fella disappearing mid-conversation, only to reappear three months later with a “sorry, been busy.”

Simultaneously, Bridget forms a subtle yet profound connection with her son Billy’s science teacher, Mr. Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor). Through their interactions, she discovers that love can manifest in unexpected ways and that opening one’s heart again does not mean forgetting the past but honoring it by embracing the present.

Throughout the film, Bridget confronts the multifaceted nature of pain. She realizes that while grief is a testament to the depth of her love for Mark, it should not define her existence. By allowing herself to experience new relationships and challenges, she learns that pain can coexist with joy and that healing is a journey, not a destination.

Watching Bridget stumble through life after losing Mark Darcy left me with a raw and painful lump in my throat, a feeling so achingly familiar it almost hurt to sit with it. As she woke up in that too-big bed, as she forced a smile through conversations that felt hollow, as she clung to memories that once felt like a forever but were now just echoes- I saw myself.

Bridget has lost the love of her life, Mark Darcy

    Image:
© 2001 NBCUniversal All Rights Reserved)I saw the version of myself from eight years ago, trying to remember how to exist in a world that had kept on spinning after my mother’s passing, even when my own had come to a screeching halt. The way Bridget carried her grief – sometimes with humor, sometimes with anger, and sometimes like a weight so heavy it seemed impossible to move – was heartbreakingly real. Because that’s the thing about loss: it doesn’t ask if you’re ready. It crashes in, rewrites your story, and leaves you to figure out how to keep going. And somehow, through all the mess, you just do.Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy masterfully balances humor and heartache, offering a narrative that is both relatable and deeply moving. The film serves as a poignant reminder that life, with all its imperfections and trials, is meant to be lived fully. Bridget’s journey teaches us that while loss is an inevitable part of the human experience, it is our capacity to love, to find joy amidst sorrow, and to embrace new beginnings that truly define us.

In this last chapter, Bridget Jones emerges not just as a beloved character but as a symbol of resilience and hope, inspiring us all to find the courage to live and love again, no matter the obstacles we face.

So, this Valentine’s Day, whether you’re content being single, desperate to find love, or in a happy relationship, Bridget is there to remind us to not settle for just anyone – not even Leo Woodall. She’s there to reminds us to only offer out our love to those who appreciate and accept us “just as we are”, as the late great Mark Darcy once sheepishly whispered.

Her husband Steve Sheen released a statement in which he said: “It is with a heavy heart that I announce my wife Pauline’s decision to step back from all professional and commercial duties due to her diagnosis of Dementia in 2021.”

The statement continued: “Pauline has been an inspiration through her work in the film and TV industry, her charity endeavours and as the founder of the very successful Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA). Her talent, dedication, and vision have touched countless lives and will continue to do so through the legacy of her work and through PQA where her vision and guidance has facilitated many young peoples’ progression and interest in the Arts and enhanced their self-confidence.”

Pauline’s family requested privacy, adding: “For the time being we will not be engaging in interviews or making further statements, since Pauline just wants to spend time with her family, children and grandchildren.”

Since the announcement, Pauline’s other Birds of a Feather co-star Linda Robson has opened up about her close friend. In an interview with Express.co.uk, she said: “”I have noticed a real difference with her; she doesn’t remember her grandchildren, so she’s not going to remember who I am even though we’ve been friends 56 years. It really is sad.”

She also shared an Instagram post, saying: “This will be the only time I speak on behalf of my best friend, Pauline. For the past three years, I’ve been in close contact with her husband, Steve, and have spent time with Pauline. It breaks my heart to see her endure such a terrible illness. Out of respect for her family and her privacy, I will not be discussing this matter further.”

Pauline, Linda and Lesley appeared in the BBC sitcom Birds of a Feather from 1989 until 1998, and it was then revived by ITV and new episodes were made between 2014 and 2020. Pauline and Linda played sisters who were brought together when their husbands were sent to prison for armed robbery, while Lesley was their next door neighbour Dorien.
