Loose Women star Coleen Nolan has opened up about her financial fears as she nears her 60th birthday in March.

Coleen expressed how she feels empowered and confident stepping into a new decade but confessed that money matters are still a source of stress. She divulged: “I’m turning 60 feeling strong and confident, and quite proud of what of what I’ve achieved, especially in the past few years when I’ve achieved it on my own.”

“Of course, I still lie in bed at night worrying about how I’m going to pay the bills, but it gives me the incentive to work hard, and that’s good.”

With finances in mind, Coleen is opting for a more subdued 60th birthday celebration compared to her lavish 40th and 50th parties. She continued to explain to Closer UK: “My 40th and 50th birthdays were big events, but they cost a lot of money, so this year I just want to be surrounded by friends and family, even they come here for a little party,” as reported by Lancs Live.

A veteran Loose Women panelist since 2000, Coleen cherishes the close relationships with her ITV colleagues, admitting: “We’re good friends, as well as colleagues.” Coleen also admitted the likes of Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter, Brenda Edwards and Christine Lampard will remain “friends forever” outside of the studio.

Celebrating the hit chat show’s 25th anniversary, she reflected on her affection for the programme and addressed the rumoured behind-the-scenes tension, clarifying: “If we hated each other as much some people say we do, we wouldn’t still be going 25 years later.”

Coleen spent her festive period with her sister Linda, who is heartbreakingly living with incurable cancer. During OK!’s exclusive photoshoot, Linda revealed her New Year’s Eve plans with her sisters. She aid: “There’s a big New Year’s Eve party at Coleen’s. She’s booked us all into a hotel up the road, so it should be great fun.”

Linda – who has moved in with her sister Denise and her husband Tom – she continues to live with the disease that also took the life of her beloved sister Bernie in 2013 at the age of 52. “I try to stay positive,” she insisted. “I’ll use jokes and humour as a way to cope, but of course it’s scary. And I have my days where I’m terribly down.” It’s been 50 years since Linda first rose to fame in The Nolans, selling 30 million records with hits such as Attention To Me, Gotta Pull Myself Together and I’m In The Mood For Dancing. It’s clear the support of her siblings has been a huge help to Linda, who lost her husband Brian to liver cancer in 2007.

Popular daytime show Loose Women continues to capture audiences every weekday at 12.30pm on ITV.

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has reportedly been dumped by his girlfriend amid the Strictly Come Dancing sex toy scandal, with a source saying ‘Jamie acts like a boy in a man’s body’

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has reportedly been dumped by his girlfriend

Jamie Borthwick has reportedly been dumped by his girlfriend amid the Strictly Come Dancing scandal. The EastEnders star had been with his partner Chloe whilst he appeared on the BBC show as well as the live tour.

However, Chloe and Jamie have reportedly now gone their separate ways. “Strictly was a whirlwind for Jamie and they managed to keep it going when he was on the show. But Chloe dumped Jamie when he finished the Strictly tour. She said she felt like Jamie didn’t have time for her,” a source told The Sun.

“Seeing the video of him with the sex toy and acting so weirdly made her realise it was the right choice. Jamie acts like a boy in a man’s body. She doesn’t have time for that.” The Mirror have contacted Jamie’s representatives.

It comes after footage emerged that showed EastEnders star Jamie, 30, brandishing a sex toy that had been sent to him by Go Compare opera singer Wynne, 53. The awkward exchange has become an issue as it has been claimed the footage was shared within a messaging group that included other Strictly stars – who it is suggested did not expect nor want to be included in an exchange that had a sexual connotation. As many of the Strictly stars are considered family friendly and with squeaky clean images, there are fears that they could be tarnished with a sexualised brush due to Jamie and Wynne’s alleged behaviour.

Footage emerged showing Jamie and Wynne joking about a sex toy while they were on the road as part of The Strictly Live Tour 2025. The clip is thought to have been filmed just two days after Wynne was recorded making a sexualised comment about pro dancer Janette Manrara.

Shortly after, Wynne was axed from the live tour and fans were left stunned and shocked by the encounter. The new footage involving a sex toy is believed to have been shared with the celebrity contestants in the Strictly Come Dancing WhatsApp group.

A source told The Sun over the weekend: “As soon as BBC executives were made aware of this shocking and immature footage being shared they formally addressed the issue and reminded the pair they had to act professionally.”

The source continued: “The men were acting extremely immaturely and inappropriately, considering it was a family show, and many cast members didn’t share their crass sense of humour. Bosses were horrified and shocked, hoping to nip the issue in the bud, unaware the video had been shared more widely.”

In the footage, which was obtained by The Sun, EastEnders actor Jamie explains the toy was sent to Birmingham’s Utilita Arena reception by Wynne. He holds up the toy before turning the camera to show fellow contestant Wynne practising topless with Neil Jones.

In the clip, Jamie says: “Look at what he bought me. I opened it up and he surprised me with this, didn’t he. It’s so funny.”

Following the leak of the video details, Wynne broke his silence on the latest scandal by taking to social media. Posting to Instagram on Sunday afternoon, Wynne posted story showing a photo of a garden from the vantage point of an ice bath.

He wrote: “Ice bath view. Love to you all #mentalhealth.” Hours earlier, he had shared a photograph of himself swimming in a lake, writing: “I find cold water swimming helps with my mental health. Please look after each other.”

This Morning star’s pain over intimate health nightmare as they ‘refuse to hide’

Former reality star Ashley James is calling for an end to ‘period shame’ as she shares her own experiences – and explains why wants it to change for her own children

    Ashley James
Ashley James says things need to change when it comes to women’s health

This Morning star Ashley James is continuing her mission to get rid of the stigma surrounding women’s health as she calls for an end to period shame. As part of her ongoing campaigning work, the mum of two has opened up about her own experiences of periods as a young girl growing up in rural Northumberland, and explained why she wants things to be different for her own children.

“Growing up, it was a case of having to hide tampons. I went to school in a tiny village with one shop to buy period products,” she exclusively told us . “We’d stand guard if one of our friends went in to buy period products so we could see if any boys were coming over – that was our biggest fear. So I want to talk about periods as there’s still a stigma and girls and women feel it’s something shameful.”

Ashley, 38, is also urging older women to get their iron levels checked after discovering her own fatigue and lethargy were caused by low iron – and the biggest contributor for women with low iron is heavy periods.

“I felt totally exhausted and thought, “Well, I’m a mum, of course I am – I’m not sleeping’,” she said. “But since having Ada, who’s two now, my periods have been heavy and painful, and I’ve been brushed off a lot.

“This year I thought, ‘It’s time to get my body into a healthier position.’ I had a blood test and found out I had low iron. I’ve learnt that around 30% of women experience lower iron and I bet so many of us just push through.”

    Ashley James
Ashley grew tired of just ‘pushing through’(Image: Instagram/ashleylouisejames/)

She continued, “When I found out I needed iron supplements, that was a whole other headache because I have other postnatal issues such as piles. I had a prolapse and I didn’t want to take a supplement that could make that situation worse.

“But it’s been amazing because it comes without symptoms like constipation. I’ve noticed such a difference in energy and haven’t had any of the horrible symptoms I was worried about.”

Ashley, who found fame on reality series Made in Chelsea, has become a very vocal advocate of issues affecting women and children, and says while many of the topics are emotionally draining, she’s determined to keep going for the sake of daughter Ada and son Alfie, four, who she shares with partner Tommy Andrews.

“I do find it hard,” she admitted. “But we’re in such uncertain times, this is not the time to be silent. I used to say my drive was trying to think about what teenage Ashley would want. Now it’s thinking, what world do I want my kids to grow up in?”.

Ashley also reflected on the Netflix ‘s record-breaking show Adolescence, which sparked a huge conversation about the dangers of social media and toxic masculinity. She said the way the production team – which included Brad Pitt – tackled the subject was “phenomenal”, and she hoped its effects would be long-lasting.

“Any time an atrocity happens, especially when it’s a young man, people say ‘Oh, he was such a nice boy!,” she said. “We still want to believe that men or boys who harm women are monsters. They’re not, they’re someone’s brother, son, mate… I’m so glad everyone’s talking about a very real threat. But it’s a shame it takes a fictional drama for people to want to make change.”

Mickey Rourke breaks cover as ITV release footage of shock Celebrity Big Brother axe

Axed Celebrity Big Brother star Mickey Rourke has been spotted out and about following his abrupt exit from the hit ITV reality show. He exited the house over the weekend after clashing with co-stars.

Mickey Rourke has been seen for the first time since his Celebrity Big Brother exit

Mickey Rourke seen for the first time since leaving the Celebrity Big Brother. The 71-year-old American star was one of the biggest names to enter the reality show house earlier this month – joining a string of British stars in a bid to be crowned winner of the televised popularity contest.

But any good fortune was quickly extinguished as Mickey caused problems from the moment he appeared on the launch episode at the beginning of last week. The actor sparked a string of complaints after he leered at show host AJ Odudu – and things went downhill from there.

Following arguments, confrontations and inappropriate behaviour, the star was ultimately axed from the line-up on Saturday – with dramatic scenes due to air on ITV on Sunday night. After his shock exit, Mickey was spotted in London looking dishevelled while stepping outside for coffee.

Dressed in a grey hooded top and simple blue jeans, the Iron Man 2 star was flanked by a burly close protection guard as he took in some sunshine and fresh air outside a London hotel. Wearing shades, the actor sat on the steps of a building and clutched a cup of coffee as he

His bodyguard was dressed in black and appeared to hold Mickey’s attention as they engaged in conversation. Mickey looked downcast and low energy as he sat on the steps and rested a hand on the bannister.

His appearance came less than 24 hours after news emerged that he had been booted from the show. As the photos emerged of him in London on Sunday, a source told the Mirror: “Mickey has been laying low since his dramatic eviction.”

After his controversial entrance to the Celebrity Big Brother house last week, Mickey seemed to antagonise his co-stars on purpose. Admitting he got a kick out of winding people up, the action star quickly rubbed his co-stars the wrong way.

Uncomfortable scenes showed him using homophobic slurs and antagonising singer JoJo Siwa, who is lesbian, over her sexuality. He was later reprimanded for using a gay slur and for making offensive comments about JoJo’s sexual preferences.

He later left comedian Donna Preston rattled when he appeared to make a comment about her weight. And later still, he reduced EastEnders icon Patsy Palmer to tears when he criticised her cooking skills.

However, it was during a task that was set over the weekend that tensions reached a level that were deemed a step too far as Mickey clashed with Love Island star Chris Hughes. The contestants were taking part in a pirate themed task when tempers boiled over.

JoJo was given the role of captain and is in charge of steering the ship. JoJo says at one point: “Ahoy. How have things been going out here?” Trisha Goddard responds: “There is a rat amongst us, Captain.”

JoJo says: “Step back in line, soldier.” It’s been announced that Chris steps out of line and looks at Mickey, and that Mickey steps out of line and confronts Chris. JoJo says: “Mickey… Ahoy.” Mickey says to Chris: “You looking at me?”

JoJo says to Mickey: “Ahoy. You’re not the captain of this ship. Ahoy. Back up soldier.” Mickey says to Chris: “Don’t eyeball me.” Chris responds: “Mickey it was a joke, f***ing …” Mickey says: “Don’t f***ing eyeball me. You c***.”

Danny Beard and JoJo both try to diffuse the situation, the spoilers reveal. Danny says: “He was joking. He was joking. He was joking.” Chris says: “F***ing stand there.” Mickey says: “What did he say?” Danny says: “He was joking.”

Danny and Daley Thompson are standing between Mickey and Chris trying to diffuse the situation. Chris says: “Mickey, it was a joke.” Big Brother says: “This is Big Brother. Mickey, come to the diary room immediately.” Mickey points to the ground and says: “No, your a** will be right there in a second.” Big Brother says again, “Mickey, come to the diary room immediately.” Mickey then heads to the Diary Room.

Mickey’s removal was announced on Saturday – with a spokesperson for the show saying last night: “[Mickey] has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behaviour.”

Mickey appeared to take responsibility for his actions, however, and expressed regret over his actions before his exit. After being told some of his lanaguage was offensive, he replied: “Yes sir. I did wrong. I apologise. I’m sorry.”

He continued: “I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. ‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry.”

The actor went on: “I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.”

And he went on to declare: “I blame myself, I know it was my bad. You know, I’ve got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line, you know, I did wrong.”

He added: “I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen.”

  • Gloria Hunniford reveals the ‘terrible fall’ that made her quit Celebrity Bake Off

Gloria Hunniford reveals the ‘terrible fall’ that made her quit Celebrity Bake Off

The TV star took a tumble during filming on the set of the hit Channel 4 show and needed hospital checks afterwards

Gloria Hunniford has revealed why she pulled a disappearing act during the judging of her magician’s cake in last night’s Celebrity Bake Off. The Loose Women star vanished at the end of the programme and was described by presenter Alison Hammond as “not feeling very well”.

But the 85-year-old had actually taken what she describes as a “terrible fall” backstage and, as a precaution, was taken to hospital for checks. She told the Mirror she was disappointed to have missed the final judging round, but had no regrets at all about taking part. “I had a terrible fall at the end of the programme, so I never got to finish it,” she explained.

“I thought my dice cake looked pretty good! For me, it looked amazing, considering I’d never baked before. And the theme was inspired by my dad, it was my mother’s recipe, which I really liked. I practiced it at home, and gave it to my son for his birthday, so it really tied in with the family theme. I don’t think I would have won, but I was really pleased with it.”

    Gloria Hunniford
One of the reasons she wanted to take part was for her late husband Stephen Way, who died last year(Image: Daily Mirror)

Thankfully the TV veteran was absolutely fine and has appeared on TV many times since the recording of the episode, for Stand Up to Cancer, last summer. Last night millions of viewers saw Ghosts star Jim Howick take the coveted Star Baker apron, thanks largely to his drum-kit showstopper. But there was confusion over what had happened to Gloria.

In an Instagram post to explain her absence, she said: “Hi everybody, I just wanted to say how much I really, really enjoyed being on Bake Off. It was fun, it was interesting meeting Paul, it was a great experience – and, not having baked before, it actually taught me quite a lot. “It was a real shame that I missed being there for the showstopper because, unfortunately, I had a fall and ended up in hospital for some screening – but I was fine.

“And I wanted to say as well that I am a great, great supporter not only of the programme, which I adore, but also of Stand Up to Cancer because not only, sadly, did I lose my gorgeous daughter to cancer but last year, very sadly as well, I lost my husband Stephen. So cancer is very foremost in our family in terms of support. And I think that the programme, and what it does through the programme, is absolutely brilliant.”

Many fans wished her well, with one saying: “To endure the loss of her daughter and husband to cancer is unimaginable. To be transported to the hospital during competition is frustrating. So glad she is doing okay. Her resilience is amazing. Gloria, you are one tough cookie!”

    Gloria Hunniford
Gloria also wanted to take part in honour of daughter Caron Keating, who died from breast cancer in 2004(Image: Daily Mirror)

The four contestants, who were comedian Jamali Maddix and model Ellie Goldstein alongside Glorian and Jim, were tasked with recreating their “best kept secret” in cake form for the final round. Viewers saw Gloria dedicate her showstopper to her journalist father’s little-known after-hours talent of magic, explaining: “My dad, although he was a newspaper man by day, was a magician by night. I’m trying to do my dad justice, I think he’d love to look down and think ‘oh my gosh, you’re doing that in my memory.”

But, as viewers waited to to hear what judges Paul Hollywood and Caroline Waldegrave thought of her efforts, she vanished into thin air. Presenter Alison Hammond explained that Noel Fielding would take her place for the judging because Gloria was “not feeling very well” and Paul joked that he looked like “the child-catcher” when he put on the top hat Gloria had used as a prop.

In the programme Gloria also enjoyed some funny banter with Hollywood, at one point asking him if he had a fake tan. “No!” he retorted. “I’ve just been to the Maldives.” And when he declared her brandy snaps “gritty”, she made him laugh by saying: “A bit like you.”

Last week the Loose Women star described why she had agreed to take parti the hit Channel 4 show, telling the Mirror that she still misses daughter Caron Keating, who died from breast cancer in 2004, every day. “To lose a child is the worst thing that can happen to you. When you carry a child for nine months and then give birth to that child, and love that child to distraction for whatever number or years or months or weeks that you have it, it’s so tragic when you lose that child.

“So giving something back has a wonderful mending process because you are giving back in the name of the person you loved, who you do love, and have lost.

“It’s very prevalent in my mind, and in my actions all the time. When you do something positive against something so deeply negative, it’s very healing. She was a very special girl, with a great sense of humour. She was the woman in this world that I loved talking to the most.”

  • I’m A Celeb’s Jill Scott breaks silence as ITV’s All Stars series set to return

I’m A Celeb’s Jill Scott breaks silence as ITV’s All Stars series set to return

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Jill Scott may have won the hearts of the nation and camped with royalty but could she be heading back for All Stars?

Jill Scott has confirmed her fate for I'm A Celeb All Stars

Jill Scott has revealed her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! future ahead of the next All Stars series. The second edition of the show which sees former campmates return is expected to air on screens this year, with familiar faces jetting out to South Africa for the challenge.

Unlike the main show, which is mainly live – All Stars is pre-recorded weeks before it airs on screens, meaning that viewers won’t always see the dramatic camp fallouts. It’s believed that ITV bosses are currently deciding which former campmates they’d like on the show this year.

Now, former Lioness Jill has revealed whether she’ll be taking part. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, the 38-year-old who won the 22nd series said: “I’m A Celebrity, it was over two years ago – it goes so quick. It’s probably one of the best things I’ve ever done. Would I go back in the jungle? Probably not. It’s quite tough in terms of being away from home and stuff like that.

Jill Scott has ruled out returning to I'm A Celebrity for All Stars

“But I think when you go through something like that, obviously there’s people in worse situations than you. But it was a great experience, but definitely once in a lifetime. I won’t wanna be eating goat’s testicles any time soon.” This year, Jill returns to Soccer Aid for UNICEF for the third time, playing on the England team alongside the likes of Louis Tomlinson, Sam Thompson, Tom Grennan and Toni Duggan at Old Trafford on June 15.

Speaking at the launch, held at Hotel Football, overlooking the pitch, Jill said: “I’m so excited I think as soon as the final whistle went on the game last year, I was like ‘Can I be involved next year?” I just absolutely love it. It’s such a fantastic event and obviously the money that gets raised for UNICEF really does changes peoples lives.

“I’m excited, Old Trafford – obviously I played at Manchester City so this is the stadium that’s across. But I think my memories of this stadium – Euros 2022, our opening game was here. It was full and it was really the fans that got us over the line in that first game – so hopefully we can fill it again and raise a lot of money for UNICEF.”

Jill is returning to Soccer Aid for the sixth time

But having become one of the nations most famous Lionesses, how does appearing on the pitch at Soccer Aid compared to playing for her country? Jill laughed and admits her competitiveness showed last year after she “might have said a few swear words” following “a few missed shots.”

“I have to remind myself for UNICEF,” she joked before explaining that it can be difficult to switch into a different mindset as she is still being watched by thousands of people in the stadium and millions at home.

“I think you do want to give a good account of yourself and help your teammates as well,” she said. Last year though, the England team were heading in off the back of a loss after being beaten by World XI. She said: “We wanted to win more than anything, I think when you get to lift that shield, it’s such an incredible moment, it’s something we definitely want to be doing it again.”

However, there is one celebrity Jill doesn’t want to face on the pitch – hardman Danny Duer. “He definitely put in some smashing tackles,” she said of last year’s match. She added: “I remember a couple on Eden Hazard. All the players have been great to be honest.

“We had Stuart Broad at centre half, he was a fantastic player. Jack Wilshire, Joe Cole, such fantastic midfielders and players that I grew up watching as well, so to actually get to take to the field with them. There’s just some great personalities that get to play in this game. It’s always a good standard I think – especially when you think there’s some players that probably haven’t played football before. But the standard’s always decent.”

But it’s not just footballers and celebrities taking part – the world’s fastest man, Usain Bolt is no stranger to Soccer Aid. “You have moments when you’re on the pitch and you’re like ‘As if I’m on the pitch with Sir Mo Farah and Usain Bolt,’ but playing the game I absolutely love.”

However, singers also leave Jill starstruck, Tom Grennan in particular. Last year, she returned to her hotel thinking “wow”. Over the years, Soccer Aid for UNICEF has raised £106 million to help people across the world.

“If you can’t get to the game, donate, obviously when you’re watching on TV, no matter how small but if you can come to the game – Old Trafford, 15th June, tickets £20 for faults, £10 for children, so hopefully affordable – come and raise some money for UNICEF.”

Since taking part in Soccer Aid, Jill has visited countries where the money has helped people. She headed to Romania to meet with families who’d fled from Ukraine following the illegal Russian invasion, orchestrated by Vladimir Putin. The families Jill met left everything as they fled for their lives and were later put into accommodation by UNICEF.

“I think there was a lot of emotion when I met those families who really had the hope of going back home but it just wasn’t safe for them to do that,” she explained. During her visit, Jill also went to a school funded by UNICEF and saw “so much love” in the classrooms as the children forgot about the conflict and engaged in art and maths classes.

She said: “We got a ball out at one point but just seeing the smiles on them kids faces and for that moment, when they’re at schools or they’re with their families – they forget everything that’s going on back home. It was an incredible trip for me and I was so honoured to be asked to go to Romania.”

The match takes place on Sunday 15th of June at Old Trafford, Manchester, with adult tickets priced at £20 and juniors from £10. Tickets are available now on the Soccer Aid for UNICEF website.

Chris Hughes’ brother Ben has addressed the Celebrity Big Brother star’s tactile relationship with fellow housemate JoJo Siwa, who is currently in a relationship

Chris Hughes’ brother Ben has spoken out about the Celebrity Big Brother housemate’s antics with fellow star JoJo Siwa after he was filmed stroking her back in bed last night.

Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, Ben said that he didn’t think there was any chance of romance between them. “I actually think that maybe they’ve just formed a great friendship due to the fact that Chris stood up for JoJo. I think JoJo is in a solid relationship. Chris will know that and I think they’ve got each other’s backs.”

“I think they’ve just bonded really well and have a really good friendship which will come away from the house as well.”

During last night’s show, viewers watched in shock as Chris was seen tickling JoJo’s back as they briefly shared a bed together in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

Fans couldn’t believe their eyes, with one writing on social media: “I did NOT have JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes on my 2025 bingo card #CBBUK.” A second wrote: “So glad I’m gay bc what do you mean people are watching GOLF whilst Chris Hughes is homewrecking JoJo Siwa’s relationship #CBBUK.”

It’s been an eventful week so far for Chris Hughes – whose argument with housemate Mickey Rourke led to the Hollywood star being booted from the house.

ITV confirmed on Saturday that Mickey Rourke had been removed from the Celebrity Big Brother house after losing his temper with housemate Chris Hughes during a pirate-themed task.

During the uncomfortable scene, Chris began staring at Mickey after Trisha Goddard said that there was “a rat amongst” them. Micky said, “You looking at me? Don’t eyeball me.”

After Chris said that it was a joke, Mickey continued: “Don’t f**king eyeball me. You c***.” Danny Bear began trying to diffuse the situation, telling him: “He was joking. He was joking. He was joking.”

Chris told Mickey to “f**king stand there”, at which point Mickey tells Chris: “Your a** will be right there in a second,” while pointing to the ground. He was then urged by Big Brother to go to the diary room before being booted off the show.

Speaking about how Chris handled the confrontation, Ben said: “I think he handled it quite well, he obviously didn’t retaliate I think, actually he just got into character a little bit too well. I think he might be trying out for the new Pirates of the Caribbean or something along those lines.

“I think he handled it quite well, obviously Danny got involved and Chris in previous episodes has also stuck up for JoJo, which I do think if anyone else was in that situation, would’ve stuck up for her as well.”

Kate Garraway has been revealed as the holiday cover for ITV’s Lorraine today, filling in for Lorraine Kelly during the Easter break and taking the reins of the daytime show

Kate Garraway has revealed that she will be guest-hosting ITV’s Lorraine today – ten years on since she was official holiday cover for the show. The TV presenter confirmed the news during Good Morning Britain, as hosts Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins checked in with Lorraine to see who was coming up on the show today.

Kate is no stranger to Lorraine, with the broadcaster having regularly hosted Friday shows and filled in for holiday cover until 2014. Now 11 years on, Kate is back on the show and couldn’t stop smiling as she shared the news with her GMB colleagues.

Kate replied: “I feel like I’m on holiday, Charlotte. I don’t know what’s going on. A later start, I’ve been looked after by everybody. It’s very exciting.

“I feel like I’m having a nice time but I’ve actually got to do a show.”

She went onto reveal that today’s show will see the brother of Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes stop by to speak about his involvement in Mickey Rourke’s sudden exit as well as Larry Lamb and the winners of Gladiators.

Kate is a regular fixture on Good Morning Britain usually, having been with the show since it started out as GMTV in 2000.

Last month, Kate led GMB’s coverage of Rachel Reeves’ spring statement and found herself in a heated debate with guest Mel Stride, the shadow chancellor.

After the Tory politician attacked the spring statement and said how the government should have put into place a “serious welfare reform”, Kate weighed in. “Well that’s your view, minister, as people might say,” Kate rebutted. “She would say she’s digging herself out of a hole that 14 years of Conservative government have left her in.”

In March, Kate opened up about becoming a single parent after the tragic death of her husband Derek Draper last year. The TV presenter has daughter Darcey, 19, and son William, 15, with the late Derek and admitted that the “hardest part of grieving” is parenting without him.

“There are so many moments where I just think, ‘Derek, where are you?’” she told the Daily Mail Weekend Magazine. “Now, I have to take on everything – the fun parent, the one keeping everyone on track, and the one panicking, yelling, ‘Oh my God, you’re going to fail everything!’” she admitted. “I make so many mistakes, but don’t we all? Is there really such a thing as a perfect mother?”

Prince Harry has tried to make peace with Prince William during his four-day visit to the UK, sources claim, despite the ongoing rift between the estranged royal and his family

Prince Harry extended an “olive branch” to brother Prince William on his recent short visit to the UK, a source close to the estranged royal said. The Duke of Sussex reportedly chose to deliberately stay near the future king at Coworth Park hotel, in Ascot, Berkshire, last week.

Harry noticeably decided to stay at the Berkshire hotel during his two-day hearing at the High Court in London over a lengthy battle to reinstated his police protection. The five-star hotel is a less than 20 minute drive to William and Kate’s residence Adelaide Cottage, on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

This Berkshire hotel is also hugely special for the brothers as it was where William stayed with Harry on the night before he married Meghan Markle, in 2018. A close friend of Harry claimed his sentimental accommodation choice “was relayed to Wills and Kate through security services” and “was seen as a potential olive branch to make peace after so many years estranged,” according to The Express.

The insider revealed Harry had hoped to work on his strained relationship with William on his short visit home. This source added: “Harry really is keen to try to salvage some kind of relationship or even reopen dialogue. They have not had any full-length conversations or discussions since they had some time together around the Queen’s passing.

“And some of us saw Harry being so close to his brother as a gesture of saying ‘hey I am here, close by… what about us trying to work things out’? The sad thing is that many of us, within Harry’s friends’ circles, feel he wants to somehow make peace and return to talking terms.”

Harry did not end up meeting with William or King Charles during four-day stay in the UK and the insider revealed why they thought the “olive branch” did not work.

The friend said: “The problem is that so much has been said by him and his wife on TV – and with Netflix for millions of dollars in profit – which can never be taken back.

“While it felt the right thing for Harry to do to cleanse his soul of his darkest feelings on life in the monarchy, his brother and father didn’t share the same outlook.

“Their view remains that a line, actually several lines, were crossed and there is no way of returning to how things were a decade ago.”

Harrys stay in Berkshire did not go to total waste as he met with his former Army and school friends.

Prince Harry came to London last Sunday to challenge the ruling that stripped his right to police protection. Harry told the court his family’s life was at threat and they needed security when in the UK.

The Duke of Sussex reportedly claimed his police protection was stripped in a bid to stop him and the Duchess of Sussex from leaving the Royal Family.

Prince Harry has reportedly claimed he and Meghan Markle were denied a security detail in a bid to have them remain within the Royal Family, and continue with high-profile duties

Prince Harry has reportedly claimed his police protection was withdrawn in a bid to stop him and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex from leaving the Royal Family.

The Duke of Sussex believed the moment he learned of the decision was “difficult to swallow” and hinted the alleged move was at the root of the rift that emerged with his father, King Charles. He claimed the alleged treatment would be hard to forgive and that the “worst fears have been confirmed” by secret evidence he heard in court. He reportedly believes the taxpayer-funded security detail was removed in a bid to have him and his wife remain in the UK, after they sensationally announced they would be stepping back from royal duties.

Prince Harry said, speaking outside the Royal Courts of Justice: “We were trying to create this happy house. “

He hoped the couple’s joy would lead to improved relations with the rest of the Royal Family, according to The Telegraph. The couple are then said to have viewed the removal of the security detail as an alleged attempt to keep them in the country as well as remaining within the Royal Family.

Prince Harry then made the move of suing the Government in a bid to get back the security detail. Prince Harry took legal action against the Home Office following the move and argued that the Royal and VIP Executive Committee failed its policy and that he had been singled out for “unjustified and inferior treatment”.

Taxpayer funded security is given to the King and Queen as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children. A more individualistic approach was adopted for the Duke and his family, with security needing to be given 30 days’ notice regarding any plans to travel to the UK.

The Duke reportedly believes King Charles could intervene in the security detail case. But Buckingham Palace sources reportedly said it strongly refuted Prince Harry’s account that the King would involve himself in the judicial process.

Prince Harry is not believed to have either spoken or seen his dad as well as Prince William for several months. Last week’s appeal and the original hearing was heard in private due to “highly confidential” evidence around security arrangements for Prince Harry as well as numerous other public figures.
