Peter Andre interrupted Kate Garraway during their Good Morning Britain discussion to correct the presenter in regards to his family
Peter Andre was quick to correct Kate Garraway as the duo discussed Christas plans on Good Morning Britain.
The Mysterious Girl singer, 51, was sitting on the sofa of the ITV morning show when presenter Kate claimed he would have a busy festive period due to having five kids. Sitting alongside co-presenter Richard Madeley, 57-year-old Kate turned to the musician and said: “Listen, you’ve got a heck of a busy Christmas, now a father of five.”
As she went to continue her comment, Pete interrupted to correct her while raising his eyebrows. He said: “Technically six, but go on. Yeah, I’ve changed a lot of nappies in my time. Carry on, carry on.”
Peter shares three children with current wife Emily; eight-month-old Arabella, Millie, 10, and Theo, eight. He also has kids Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, with ex-wife Katie Price. The Insania singer also stepped up to become an active, loving stepfather to Katie’s eldest son, Harvey Price, 22, and openly discussed plans to legally adopt him prior to his and Katie’s split.
In an interview with OK! magazine, recently, Peter discussed the potential of having more kids. “I’ve changed six sets of nappies in my adult life, I’m done.” he confessed.
He also revealed his kids have a close relationship with each other. “They’re all very close, but Bista [Princess] is super close with Millie and really helpful with the baby, while Junior has a lovely connection with Theo”, he said. “Ems and I aren’t “party parents” – we love being at home, cooking and hanging out with the kids. I’m more driven than ever with work, but I feel parent guilt like never before. Then I think, I’m doing this for their future as well, and I feel better again!
Regarding his previous close bond with Harvey, an unearthed clip shows the singer upset while discussing the adoption plans. He became emotional after being shown footage in 2010 of Harvey’s estranged dad Dwight Yorke slamming his plans to legally become a father to his son.
In the clip Dwight said: “I understand that he has to play a role, because that comes as part of the baggage when you get involved with Kate. But for him to say he was going to adopt my kid – and now look what’s happened four years down the road [Pete and Katie split]. Is he prepared to adopt Harvey at this stage? I don’t think so. The onus falls back on the father, which is me in the first place, so that’s why it should not have been mentioned.”
But in response Pete hit back to Kay Burley on Sky News: “No disrespect, but has he seen Harvey since this interview? The bottom line is this. I love that child alright, and I don’t care what anybody says, I love that child. I see that child.
“To me, a nice little thank you would be nice instead of telling me. I asked to adopt him because I love him. I didn’t ask to adopt him to be disrespectful. It angers me when people turn around and I get a comment like that.”
