King Charles is ‘desperate’ to see his youngest grandchildren and is ‘in discussions’ about organising a visit in the near future to bond with them, a royal expert claims
King Charles is keen to be a ‘friendly grandfather’ to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, a royal commentator claims.
The King, 75, is reportedly in discussions to visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in America to bond with their children after making progress in his ongoing cancer treatment. According to royal commentator Tom Quinn, Charles is ‘desperate’ to see his two youngest grandchildren and has a gap in his schedule which could allow him to fly to the US.
Quinn also claimed Harry is ‘hesitant’ to bring the children to the UK, and previously suggested there is ‘no way’ the Duchess of Sussex would return to British soil, meaning Charles would have to travel to Montecito to visit his grandkids.

Speaking to New Idea magazine, the expert claimed: “He is desperate to see his them and hates the idea that Archie and Lilibet will not remember him as the warm, friendly grandfather he wants to be.” A source also told the publication that the King is “feeling a little better” months after his cancer diagnosis, meaning there could be a “showdown” to end tensions among the family.
They claimed: “This feud has gone on for far too long, and Charles is anxious to sort it out – but he knows it has to be on Harry and Meghan’s home turf, particularly if he wants to see his grandchildren.” The publication claimed Harry would be “open” to welcoming his father to Montecito, however, Queen Camilla and Prince William are said to be more hesitant about the potential visit.
It comes after royal expert Jennie Bond said the King would love the change to get to know his grandchildren. She told OK! magazine: “Having grandchildren is a powerful tug on the heartstrings. Little people who are part of your bloodline and have had nothing to do with family quarrels and tensions. So I can imagine that the King very much wants the chance to get to know Archie and Lilibet and to create some memories for them.”
The expert also suggested Archie and Lilibet may be the key to ending the royal feud. She said the youngsters might convince Charles and Harry to “forgive, if not forget, the bitter rows of the past.” Jennie added: “I fervently hope that Harry will not follow Meghan’s example of remaining obdurately estranged from her father and most of her family.”
