William and Kate’s youngest son is a firm favourite amongst royal fans thanks to his funny antics and hilarious facial expressions. And it seems he is just as cheeky behind-the-scenes
Prince Louis likes to keep royal fans – and his parents – on their toes whenever he steps out at official events. Whether he’s pulling funny faces, dancing by himself, sticking out his tongue, or widely yawning, the six-year-old is the one to watch thanks to his cheeky but endearing antics.
And he once made a particularly bold remark to his grandmother Carole Middleton, which was overheard as the royals enjoyed a family holiday. Speaking recently on The Daily Mail’s Palace Confidential podcast, royal editor Rebecca English revealed that the little prince had once been heard making an amusing six-word remark to his grandmother as they spent time together in Mustique.
The comment was reportedly heard by a fellow holidaymaker who had witnessed Louis playing in the sea. Carole was said to be trying to get Louis to come out of the water at the time, but he refused, saying: “No, I’m not coming. You’re old.”
It is not known how old the prince was when he made the cheeky comment. But William, Kate and their children have travelled to Mustique on a number of occasions with Carole and Michael.
A former holidaymaker previously told HELLO! just how strict security is on the island. “Mustique is very exclusive and press and paparazzi can’t be within a certain distance from the island, which would explain why you only see long-lens, grainy shots of the royals,” the source said.
Day visitors can only stay on a certain part of the private island while the rest of the area is shut off to overnight guests, who have to show proof of their accommodation if asked. “As soon as you dock, there are taxi drivers who you can hire to take you around and point out celebrity hotspots,” the source revealed. “They point out A-listers’ houses – we saw Bryan Adams, Tommy Hilfiger and Mick Jagger’s homes. We went to Cotton House Hotel, Basil’s Bar and Macaroni Beach where we spotted Jade Jagger having a swim.
“We also saw Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy while we were having a drink at Basil’s Bar. We also went past the sloped runway where the private jets land. It was like something out of James Bond. It was surrounded by lots of trees – it’s almost like a secret, hidden runway.”
In July 2019, the Wales family stayed in a luxury £27,000-a-week villa on the private island, along with Kate’s parents. According to the Sun, they chose the five-bedroom luxury holiday pad, Villa Antilles – featuring a kids’ room with two bunk beds, a butler, housekeeper and private garden. It also boasts a 18-metre infinity pool , which overlooks the ocean. The home was built in 2016 and is owned by property developer Andrew Dunn – a long-time pal of Prince William.
The website for the property states: “The focus is on al fresco dining at Antilles. With a choice of indoor and outdoor dining locations and a trained chef , menus can be tailored to suit every taste and preference. Household staff live on-site in dedicated staff accommodation to provide daily service and hospitality.”
It is further described as “an exceptional new contemporary colonial style villa set in the Endeavour Hills, with a captivating outlook to Bequia and St Vincent beyond”.
