Prince Harry could come back to the UK this Christmas but there is “no way” his wife Meghan Markle will be joining him, a royal commentator has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex last spent Christmas with the royals back in 2018, after their wedding. They went to Vancouver Island in 2019 and stepped down as senior working royals in early 2020.

Charlotte Griffiths, Editor at Large at the Mail on Sunday, claimed that the duke will likely be making more trips to his home country as he wants to “visit the UK more”, particularly after the couple bought a new holiday home in Portugal.

She told GB News: “I do think Harry is going to come over to the UK more and more. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he came over at Christmas, but he will be coming on his own.

“I think there’s no way Meghan will come over. It might be that they spend Christmas in Portugal and he nips over to see the family. “I don’t think he’s usually invited to Balmoral. They don’t feel they can relax when he’s at Balmoral with them, so I don’t think he’ll pop up there.”
