Fans of Strictly Come Dancing are convinced Nick Knowles has quit the competition for good after picking up on a couple of hints from the DIY SOS presenter.
Nick watched the live show from the sidelines over the weekend after picking up a second injury during his time on the BBC show. The first injury came when Nick suffered a shoulder injury while in the midst of a roadside car tire change.
He later told BBC2’s It Takes Two, while wearing a sling, that he had suffered the “painful” injury on the way to a family party on September 22 to celebrate his birthday. However, he received medical clearance to perform on that week’s show.
Then, confirming his second injury and the news it was severe enough to temporarily stop him from performing, Nick shared days later: “During our first dress rehearsal today, or run-through of the dance number on the stage, unfortunately I damaged my knee and it’s quite painful. So the physios have decided I need to go for a MRI.”
His professional partner Luba Mushtuk added: “Unfortunately we will not be dancing tomorrow but we really, really hope that the knee will be better for the next week and we’ll be back on the dancefloor. Fingers crossed, we really hope that we’ll be back and see you guys very soon.” Knowles said that “even if we have to glitter up the crutches, I am determined to get back and try and dance for you next week.”
But while Nick has been granted a bye into the third week of the BBC’s beloved dance contest, after missing Movie Week, an update on his condition is set to be unveiled on the companion programme It Takes Two tonight – with Strictly fans convinced it’s bad news for Nick.

Avid followers believe they’ve already cracked the code concerning Nick’s fate after stumbling across tantalising online hints. One remarked: “It looks like has withdrawn from #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing. The routines for Week 4 have just been revealed and he’s not on the list.”
Sharing the rest of the line-ups routines on Facebook, the official account for Strictly said: “We will update you with more news on Nick when we have it.” This sparked exit fears amongst fans, with one quipping: “I think the lack of tunes on Tuesday suggests that they don’t know whether Nick will be able to dance yet.”
Head judge Shirley Ballas gave an update on Nick’s situation this Monday. Nick’s future on the contest rests in the balance and he could potentially forfeit his slot if he isn’t fit to rejoin the upcoming weekend’s proceedings, according to Shirley who shared insights while she visited The Chris Evans Breakfast Show broadcasted on Virgin Radio UK.
However, Shirley has now confessed that she is very hopeful that the star will be back dancing on the programme on Saturday night. Speaking on Virgin Radio UK this morning, Shirley revealed: “Apparently, he is possibly on the mend.” She then confessed she “wasn’t sure” what injuries he had sustained. She continued: “We are hoping that by the weekend he will be back because he is an assert to the show.”
