Following the reveal of David Corenswet’s Superman logo in the DC Universe, new art sees Milly Alcock’s Supergirl get the same House of El symbol.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow star Milly Alcock suits up as Kara Zor-El, carrying the same logo as David Corenswet’s Superman in DC Universe fan art. James Gunn’s DC Universe is on its way, with the new Superman movie kicking off principal photography last month, setting up for Corenswet bringing the next live-action version of the DC icon to life on the big screen.

However, Clark Kent won’t be the only popular Kryptonian featured in the DC Universe, as Alcock has been cast as his cousin Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl.

In late February, Gunn officially revealed a first look at the Superman movie costume by unveiling the DC Universe’s version of the House of El symbol. While the general public eagerly awaits seeing a full shot of Corenswet in his suit, Jobhutz shared artwork of what Alcock’s Supergirl could look like with the same logo as Corenswet’s Superman.

The version of the infamous S-shield that is being used for Gunn’s Superman movie is pulling from Mark Waid and Alex Ross’ beloved DC storyline, Kingdom Come. Whether or not Alcock’s Supergirl will have the same logo or not is unclear at this point.

Milly Alcock has been cast as Supergirl for DC Studios’ upcoming DCU, and she can learn some valuable lessons from previous incarnations of the hero.

When Will Supergirl First Show Up In The DC Universe?

While Alcock’s initial announcement was for the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow movie, the House of the Dragon star may be showing up in the DC Universe a bit earlier than that. As her solo film is still casting other characters, there have been reports that Alcock may make her DC Universe debut in Gunn’s Superman movie with David Corenswet.

Even though Gunn has stated previously, “I never even said she was in the movie,” regarding Supergirl’s prospective Superman screentime, the DC Studios co-CEO hasn’t outright rejected the concept, which makes a potential cameo still seemingly possible.

With Superman being the only DC Universe project in production right now, it would make sense for Alcock’s Supergirl to show up there in a supporting role. That would also allow the DC Universe audience to start building an investment in Kara before she heads into Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Given the iconic family relationship between Clark and Kara, it would be great to see the new Superman reboot establish that his dear cousin is already in his life at this point. There could also be a natural plot point in Superman that directly sets Kara up for her arc in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

Hopefully, whether the hero appears in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow first or in Superman, more news will emerge sooner rather than later about Alcock’s journey as the Girl of Steel in the DC Universe.
