Aaron Taylor-Johnson Reportedly Set to be the Next James Bond

Over the years, several actors have taken on the role of the titular spy in Ian Fleming’s cinematic adaptation of James Bond. From Sean Connery to Daniel Craig, fans of the spy franchise have witnessed different actors delivering their take on the role.

But after Craig’s exit from the franchise, it created a big mess, and even producer Barbara Broccoli opened up about their struggles of finding the next suitable star.

However, recently, that very struggle reportedly came to an end, after insiders revealed that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been officially offered the role, which he is yet to accept.

Speaking with The Sun, sources noted how the spy franchise finally landed their eyes on the MCU actor, who is set to be the next James Bond, once he accepts the role.

Although previously, A-listers like Henry Cavill and Cillian Murphy were making headlines for their alleged fan casting as 007, it seems Aaron Taylor-Johnson was the one finally destined to be Bond.

But while the rumor is making circles online, it seems no one is immune to weighing in on the possibility. Even former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan appears to feel the same way.

Pierce Brosnan Addresses Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Rumored Casting

Speaking with The Ray D’Arcy Show on RTÉ Radio 1, Die Another Day actor Pierce Brosnan was asked about his opinion on Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s casting as James Bond, when he simply threw his support behind the MCU star.

Although Brosnan previously endorsed Oscar-winning Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy for the role, the actor now appears to have changed his tune on the matter.

“I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so. One of the first movies we made, one of the earliest movies, was The Greatest. And he was the greatest in it. So, yes, I read the news about his possibilities of being a Bond, so I would definitely tip my hat to the fellow.” Brosnan said of Johnson.

Recalling his 2009 movie The Greatest, where he worked alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Pierce Brosnan claimed that the actor has it in himself to do justice to the role assigned to him.

Brosnan and Johnson’s collaboration in the 2009 project came as one of the earliest films, from the GoldenEye actor’s production company Irish DreamTime. Therefore, addressing Johnson’s work in the movie, Brosnan lauded his performance.

Shifting his previous pitch from Cillian Murphy and shrugging off Henry Cavill‘s alleged fan casting as James Bond, Pierce Brosnan hailed Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the next 007 in the $7.8B franchise (via The Numbers).

Further, as the former Bond star was asked about his advice to Johnson ahead of his appearance as the titular spy, Brosnan noted, “be bold. Go out there. Have a great time.

Just love it, just go for it. You can do it.” Although Johnson has not confirmed or denied his involvement in a new Bond project, fans appear hopeful after Brosnan appreciated the actor.
