The loss of Henry Cavill from Netflix’s The Witcher is still being felt, and likely will be long after the next season has aired. However, that loss is another fandom’s gain, and seemingly a huge gain for Henry Cavill himself as he focuses on the Warhammer 40K series adaptation.

Cavill has left behind the dumbing down of The Witcher for what he believes is the “greatest privilege” of his career thus far. We knew back in December 2023 that Cavill and the team he’s amassed are already well underway in shaping the cinematic universe of Warhammer 40K for the eagerly waiting fandom.

We’re beyond excited about Cavill’s involvement with Warhammer 40K, so we’re going to hype ourselves up more by watching the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 trailer

Now Cavill has started to publicly speak about the project and what its future holds, his excitement palpable – we love how much of a nerd he is. In truth, we’ve known it since he declared Yennefer his number one lady for Geralt, but it’s always satisfying to have his nerd status confirmed once more.

During the Argylle press event, Cavill was asked about Amazon Studios’ work on the adaptation, with Cavill saying, “I can’t say too much, again, it’s early days still. But to have this opportunity to bring it to screen, and be at the tiller so it can be faithful, is key to me.”

He continued, “This is the stuff I’ve been dealing with since I was a kid. This is the stuff I spend my free time daydreaming about, as an adult as well, and I get to bring it into life. There is no greater reason that I joined the industry than doing something like this.”

We truly cannot think of anyone better at the helm of this project than Caville, a man who travelled all the way to Nottingham to take a tour of Warhammer World. Now that’s dedication, passion, and enthusiasm all rolled into one super fan.

It’s still early days for the Warhammer 40K series, though, so make sure to watch this space to avoid missing out on any updates. We anticipate there’ll be a lot more rumours, insider leaks, and interviews to come before we see an official teaser for the project.
