Loose Women star Brenda Edwards was told not to ‘beat herself up’ and that she was ‘the best possible mum’ by her colleagues in the studio
Loose Women stars have rallied around co-star and friend Brenda Edwards following the news that son Jamal’s cause of death was recreational drugs.
Earlier today, an inquest into the death of music entrepreneur Jamal Edwards confirmed that the star died from cardiac arrhythmia after taking recreational drugs.
The panellists began the show today by addressing the news, with Ruth Langsford sending their love to Brenda.
“Like I’ve said when Jamal first passed, I didn’t realise how incredible the work he did was,” Coleen Nolan said. “What’s been hard for Brenda is that people don’t forget the incredible work he’s done.

“One thing that stuck in my mind [is something] he put on Instagram years ago – the goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.”
While Janet sent her own emotional message to Brenda, saying: “I know Brenda so well and I don’t want her to beat herself up and she was the best possible mum she could have been.

“I’m so glad you came into my life.”
The 53-year-old was told not to “beat herself up” and that she was “the best possible mum” by her colleagues in the studio.
Ruth added: “All our love to you.”
Viewers similarly wished her well, with one commenting: “Thank you Brenda for being open and honest. This is something that has probably been hidden by many other families but needs to be spoken about #LooseWomen.”
While another wrote: “With the risk of judgment. Proud of Brenda making that painful news public and to hopefully bring awareness to others. #LooseWomen.”
A third tweeted: “Thoughts are with Brenda at this very sad time #LooseWomen.”
