DIANA’s former bodyguard spoke on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show about the role the late Princess of Wales could’ve played in getting her sons to reconcile.
Ken, who is a former Metropolitan police officer, looked after the young royal family from 1986 until 1993 before Princess Diana’s death four years later.

The Sun’s Royal Editor, Matt Wilkinson asked Ken: “Is it impossible to say, but how do you think Diana would feel knowing these two previously close brothers are basically at war?”
Ken replied: “The sad thing is, Diana’s death in 1997, that was a traumatic experience certainly for them. They lose their mother so publicly.
“In Prince Harry’s particular case, as a 13, 14-year-old, he is, in a sense of duty, he has to walk behind his mother’s coffin to Westminster Abbey.
“Up until that point, even after that point they [Harry and William] remained good friends.”
The former royal employee continued: “To answer your question, how would Diana have influenced, or had any influence on resolving their issues in later life?
“What this turmoil needed or needs even now, is someone to convene and try and sort this out.
“It is never going to be sorted out publicly, it has to be sorted out privately.
“I think his father, the King, is desperate to resolve this issue because I think it’s very important for him,” he claimed.
“Coming back to how Diana would resolve that, because Diana knew William and Harry probably better than anybody else, [she] would have understood the problems, [she] would have seen the issues surrounding the complications with Harry and Meghan and all that that had with it at the time.”
Ken added: “In 2018, Harry’s marriage to Meghan was probably the greatest thing to ever happen to the Royal Family.
“Here we had a Prince marrying a woman of mixed race, a divorcee, and an American.
“And this was all supported by the Queen, by the establishment, and sadly it all went horribly wrong,” he opined.
Prince William was envious of Harry when they were kids because he was so popular and so much fun
“I think Diana, if she were alive, would have seen all the complications, the complexities of that, knowing how royalty works, [and] would have been a great motivator to try and resolve that issue – which I’m sure she would have done.”
Ken was then asked what Diana would’ve thought of Meghan, if “she would’ve been delighted by Meghan and welcomed Meghan” and whether “they would’ve been close”.
He revealed: “Diana would have loved it because it was risque anyway.
“The very fact her son was marrying a divorcee, an American, an actress/actor. This was all food for Diana’s discussion.
“Of course, she would have liked it,” he remarked.
“She always said the most important issues in my life are my children and for that reason would have supported them and been a great advisor.
“I do think one of her qualities was her humane touch and would have seen the problems that were likely to have come out of that marriage and where we are now with him [Harry] and his wife and family domiciled in the US.

“Diana would have been a frequent visitor and would now to this day, in my view, even worked with her ex-husband the King to find a way to best resolve this issue.
“It can now not be dealt with in the media, it has to be dealt with privately,” Ken concluded.
It comes after The Sun’s Arthur Edwards revealed what he believes Harry’s “main problem” is with William that could be hindering a reconciliation.
The Royal photographer suggested Harry’s flying visit to the UK recently to see King Charles after the monarch’s cancer diagnosis was a tell-tale sign.
Arthur commented: “Notice that he came here to see the King but he didn’t go to see Prince William because William didn’t want to see him.
“That’s the main problem.
“It’s not Harry and his relationship with his father, it’s his relationship with his brother because his brother is going to be the next king.”
