Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding was ‘worst ever’ as insider slams pair’s big day

A royal photographer who attended the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle branded the day “miserable” and “the worst royal event” he’s ever done.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day has been branded as “the worst” by a photographer who claims he “couldn’t get out of Windsor quick enough.”

The snapper labelled the lavish ceremony in 2018 “miserable” royal event, and the “worst one he has ever been to” when looking back at the Duke and Duchess’s special day on May 19, 2018, in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

Both the ceremony and reception were attended by an eclectic list of family, friends and celebrities, and with the build-up and the wedding itself beamed across the globe to millions of people.

Now the Sun’s royal photographer Arthur Edwards opened up about Harry and Meghan’s big day and revealed that he “hated” it as it was the “worst royal wedding” that he’s ever done.

He told the outlet: “I was there I hated the day, it was a miserable day.

“I can tell you now it was the worst royal engagement I ever did, the worst royal wedding I ever did because Harry was determined to keep the newspapers away from it as much as possible.”

The photographer explained how he had to use long lenses on his camera take photograph the royal couple, saying: “It was hopeless. And when they went past in the carriage, they turned away from me.

He added that the move seemed “deliberate” as the duke was “angry” at the press and the things being written about Meghan.

Mr Edwards said: “Some of the things were pretty harsh. Some were pretty unfair. He [Prince Harry] was angry and I felt we were punished for that.”

He added: “I’ve done some really lovely royal weddings, I did both of Charles’, William’s, Andrew’s, Sophie and Edward’s. But on this one, I couldn’t get out of Windsor quick enough.”

The Montecito couple celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary last Sunday with neither of them making any statement, suggesting they would have marked the special occasion privately.

The Sussexes wedding took place just two years before they announced a step-back from their senior royal positions, and that they would be moving across the pond to California.
