One Direction stars set up ‘group chat’ sparking reunion hopes

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson could soon be performing together again as rumours of a One Direction reunion gather pace

Members of One Direction have fanned flames to rumours that the group will soon reunite to perform together as a five piece.

The chart-topping pop band was put together by Simon Cowell on The X Factor back in 2010 with solo performs Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson, thrust together to form the group.

They went on to unleash five albums in as many years before going ‘on hiatus’ in 2016 to focus on solo projects – with no indication of how long the hiatus would last.

But now fans have been given a sign that the boys may indeed be planning to get the band back together – as they have set up a group chat between them.

The Sun on Sunday claims 29-year-old Liam was quizzed about the band reforming while attending a sporting event in London.

He replied: “I don’t know — but we just started a new group chat, so that is something”

When pressed if this meant that “1D is back soon”, Liam reportedly shrugged and refused to say anything more about a possible comback.

Meanwhile, a music source has revealed Liam has called on 29-year-old Niall and 31-year-old Louis for help working on his upcoming second solo album at a recording studio in Los Angeles.

The insider said: “Liam is great pals with Niall and Louis, so loved catching up with them while they were all in LA. Being in the studio together felt natural, so they all jumped on a track.
“It was second nature to them singing together and felt like old times. They had a right laugh.
“Producers are hoping Liam includes it on his finished album, fans will love it.”
Each of the 1D boys has released solo music in the years since they drifted from the group – with 30-year-old Zayn being the first to split from the group in 2015 and releasing three albums, the first of which topped the charts in the UK and USA.

Niall has released two album, with a third due in June this year – while Louis has released two, with both Louis and Niall’s second albums reaching number 1 in the UK.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old Harry has released three albums, two of which reached number one and his second album was at number 2.
Last month, Harry teased the possibility of a 1D reunion while appearing on The Late Late Show in LA with James Corden.
James point blank asked: “Yes or no, will there be a One Direction reunion?”
And setting fans wild, Harry responded: “I think I would never say never to that. If there was a time when we wanted to do it, I don’t see why we wouldn’t.”

While a source previously told OK! Magazine: “Liam is desperate to get back on the road with the boys, his solo career hasn’t remained as successful as he hoped it would, and work has become stagnant for him.
“He knows he’s somewhat fallen out of favour with the public, and believes the only way he’ll be able to win back his fans is with a One Direction reunion.”
